Giving Thanks! (2010 Edition)

Giving Thanks — Happy Thanksgiving!

Here in the States, it’s Thanksgiving!  It’s one of my favorite holidays, because people come together and (hopefully) enjoy the company. This is also an excellent time to think about the things and people we are thankful to have in our lives–and let them know it!

10 Things I’m Thankful For (Beauty Edition)

  • Jack Black Lip Balm to keep my lips moisturized and help them recover after a mad-dash lip swatching session.
  • Guerlain Rouge Gs for coming out with the most flattering shades so I actually enjoy just wearing lipstick sometimes!
  • China Glaze For Audrey for being the perfect color for summer toes.
  • NARS Smudgeproof, because it keeps my shadow in place without affecting the finish and never muting the color.
  • Tom Ford Oud Wood for making me want to writhe around in my own sexiness after a spritz, LOL!
  • Chanel Exceptionnel for keeping my lashes long, black, and thick.
  • Le Metier de Beaute Echo, because you instantly brighten my cheeks and never look like it’s too much.
  • Benefit Sugarbomb is a highlighting, barely-there blusher come true and a total go-to on lazy days.
  • MAC Brushes — one needs great tools, too!
  • Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque, because it makes me feel like a vixen!

10 Things I’m Thankful For (Life Edition)

  • The amazing emotional support I receive from my family — they are so encouraging and always there cheering me on.
  • My boyfriend for enduring my mindless, nonstop chatter and need to talk 24/7!
  • THE MELLANATOR! for being my heart dog.  He is my cuddle-bug and wiggling machine that always warms my heart.
  • That I only have five more months of school!  AH!
  • Starbucks White Chocolate Mochas with soy, whip, sugar-free hazelnut, and half-caff.  They help me work through the tired!
  • New friends (and their fur-babies)!
  • Reality TV to help me dissolve into mindlessness after a long day.
  • To-do lists (and Outlook!) that help me organized and to not forget half of the things I need to do everyday.
  • Italian food, even if it does go straight to my thighs!
  • Fuzzy socks that keep your feet nice and warm all night long.

And of course, I’m beyond thankful for the amazing readers we have here at Temptalia! 🙂

What are you thankful for?

Oh and I’m thankful to my family and friends for putting up with my strange moods. My work for having nice coworkers. And of course my vicious cat who is cute when he sleeps who cuddles with my ONLY when I get into bed at night 🙂

Happy American Thanksgiving Christine! In Canada, our Thanksgiving was in October, but regardless, it’s always great to take time out and think about how pretty darn good life is. I’m grateful for the wonderful support my family has given me emotionally through the course of my degree! Almost done!!!

I’m thankful for my parents for being able to provide everything i need/want and more in my life, my friends, my horses/dogs/cats, my sister, Lush body wash in Snow Fairy, the killer legs God has given me due to running all the time, and CHICKFILA FRENCH FRIES. (: ♥

-Oh and I turn 15 next week so I’m pretty thankful I can get my permit and start driving!

Thanksgiving was over a month ago for me. It’s hilarious how similar yet different Canada and the U.S. are!

The 10 Things I’m Thankful For (Beauty Edition)

1. MAC MSF Natural in Light, a powder that evens out, mattifies, and finishes without EVER looking cakey.

2. CoverGirl Smoothers Concealer in Neutralizer, since it matches my skintone practically perfectly without being to pinkish or yellow.

3. Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Temper. The perfect orange-red lipgloss to go with bronzer. I use so much of it I’m gonna have to get a new one pretty soon!

4. L’Oreal True Match Blush in Innocent Flush. A great peach blush that’s finely milled so it applies very evenly.

5. EcoTools and Kirkland by Borghese makeup brushes. They have the basic brushes needed at a fantastic value.

6. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. The brush works great at filling in lashes that are shorter to even out the “fan”.

7. Naturally Upper Canada Warm Honey Nectar Body Butter. It just smells heavenly.

8. Vaseline, of course. My uses for it include lip balm, under-eye cream, and as a cork grease for my saxophone (for that, you don’t need a lot!).

9. OPI’s Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It. An orange-red with a touch of coral to make from looking muddy. It’s not the most resilient polish ever, but the color’s so gorgeous you probably won’t even care.

10. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Hidden Treasure. I was lucky to have gotten it after it was sold out in the U.S. (Canada had the LE collection for about a month longer), and I was not disappointed. On top of black polish, it’s awesome.

The 10 Things I’m Thankful For (Life Edition)

1. Duh, my family, of course! I have relatives in Canada, the U.S. and China, so both sides add up to probably HUNDREDS.

2. My Cairn Terrier mix, Jessie. Half the year, she’s a giant ball of fur. We were going to get her a haircut, but now that we’re in the middle of heavy snowfall, those plans have been put on hold. She’s not full Cairn Terrier because her ears are larger and flop down.

3. “The Simpsons”, early “Family Guy”, “Murder, She Wrote”, “Golden Girls”, “Arthur”, “Kids in the Hall”, way too many to list. They’re all awesome.

4. Grandma’s mashed potatoes with cream cheese, sour cream, onion salt, and pepper left such a huge imprint some years ago that I got the recipe. Christmas dinner can’t be complete without pumpkin pie, either!

5. Our new Brita filtered pitcher, so I don’t have to go downstairs to fill a giant water cooler bottle under a tiny Brita tap.

6. My iPod Touch. It’s older, and progressively becoming obsolete, but I still love it and wouldn’t ever give it up.

7. My blog (chynnamoore.blogspot.com). I can put my honest thoughts and opinions on it and get amazing feedback from followers or even those just passing by. Maybe we all should blog!

8. Christmas specials! “Arthur’s Perfect Christmas” is my personal favorite, followed by “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”.

9. My baking capabilities that are constantly improving. Since September, I’ve made three apple pies, countless potato wedges, a whole-wheat pizza, and a spaghetti pizza pie. Mmmmm…

10. Snow, snow, SNOW! Because of it, school’s closed, and I have a day off the same day as everybody in America. If only Canada had Black Friday, too.

Italian food won’t affect your thighs more than the American one, Christine, quite the opposite! I’m talking about the real thing, of course…That stuff you’re used to in the USA is something pretty different! 😉
Thanks for your hard work, happy Thanksgiving! (From Italy) 🙂

Hi Christine, so timely haha, so thankful for the Foundation Matrix! Yesterday I was finally able to find the perfect match for my skintone, I really needed it for an event last night :> It was like a day before the event and I was like oh my I need a great foundie but I didn’t know where to start!

I’m lazy, plus my Thanksgiving was back in October, so I’ll just do 5 out of the gazillion things I’m thankful for.

Beauty:
– hand cream – the only thing that stops them from looking all crepey.
– lipbalm – the only thing that stops my lips from cracking and bleeding.
– foundation to cover up the redness that our random cold snap here has left me with (-10 degrees Celcius and snow?! I live on the West coast, we do not do this sort of weather..)
– concealer for making me look just a tad less zombie-like.
– ELF eyebrow kit…being blonde as a kid does not leave me with properly brunette eyebrows to match my hair..

Life:
– my Grandma: she’s been sick a lot this year, and now that she’s home from the hospital I appreciate how she looks after me. Even if being told to get a snack for the 10th time today is a little annoying, it shows she cares 🙂
– my frinds for putting up with my crazy – and trust me, there’s a lot of crazy to put up with
– all the people who’ve actually bothered to return the phone calls/emails of a poor journalism student…it helps!
– that I have just over two weeks of school till my term ends! and only one exam haha 🙂
– Starbucks White Chocolate Mochas with soy! Love them. I need to try the hazelnut. And the whip…And I need all the caffeine I can get so I’ll be sticking to full-caff lmao. But agreed, those are the best Starbucks drinks ever.

My husband, my kids, my friends, my health, my home and car.

That although in mid age I don’t look ancient, mac cosmetics, good brushes and some money to buy these cosmetic things that make me feel better about myself. I realize I cannot bring back youth but do the best I can with what I have now.
