More Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow with #1

Giorgio Armani Blast of Blue (1) Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a mix of violet-meets-indigo blue and medium-dark, metallic gold that creates a blend of a dusty, bluish purple with a gold-tinged sheen and sprinkling of gold shimmer.   When I applied it dry, the gold seemed to shimmer more, while when I applied it wet, the purple dominated.  As soon as this popped up on the website, I knew I had to order it–so glad I did!

The texture of these feels almost like a cream eyeshadow, but it has the thinness of a powder eyeshadow while retaining some of the blendability of the hybrid cream-powder eyeshadow.  It also works well with other eyeshadow (see this look using #6).  It’s almost like a really dense loose powder that’s been pressed down, because if you dig at it, it loosens.

Though pricey, each shade comes with 0.14 oz. worth of product, which is a hefty amount (normal eyeshadow averages around 0.05 oz., no matter the price).  The only aspect I didn’t love was the little black stopper inside the jar (once you unscrew the black lid), because my longer fingers felt awkward grabbing it (so I just unscrew it upside down so it falls into the cap).

UGH, that color is so beautiful!!
Do you think these will dry out in time like regular cream shadows? I can never tell with these cream powder hybrids.

I’m having a seriously bad time with fallout from the ones I own (copper and gold shades). I’ve tried patting it on with various brushes, using my finger, Q-tip. Using even a very minimal amount, I still get fallout which gets worse as the day goes on!

I think my oily eyelids are to blame. When I use these powders in the crease, there is no fallout. It’s a shame I have to use them that way, and those shades are gorgeous for my blue eyes, but after 6-8 tries, it’s what I’m doing with them.

Ruh Roh! I have four of these already. I don’t need more, but this is so pretty. GA has a new purple one too. Did you get that one as well?

Oh they’re amazing! I love products like these that have so much depth and personality that you can just use them all over the lid – Sweep something else through the crease, add mascara, and you’ve got an eye look that takes seconds to do and still looks amazing! (That sounded a little to much like a commercial! LOL But it’s true!)

I’ve fallen in love with this color and the black one so hard, I’ll have to make a purchase today. Never seen a color so beautiful like this one. Visiting your blog is dangerous for my wallet but it’s an addiction I can’t get away from…hahah. I visit it 30 times a day whether you’ve posted something new or not, I love it that much.

I’ve loved all of the Eyes to Kill you’ve reviewed so far, and this is no exception! I just have to make up my mind on what to buy!

That is such a cool colour! *o* … I think I might have to get it.
Also I don’t know for sure ’cause I haven’t tried these, but it seems like L’Oréal have created some kind of drugstore version of them.
I dunno about how they last (Creasing etc.) but I believe they have stained the back of my hand for days when swatching them.
I want to try them, I think I’m going to buy some!

L’Oreal doesn’t have them in the U.S. 🙁 I asked if they were ever going to be here, and they said they did not know (PR).

This is stunning. I love the Eyes to Kill Intense and have Khaki Pulse on its way to me. Now I may need to see if I can get this too. I’ve never used them wet though so that’s what I’ll try tomorrow!

I like how it looks in the pot, but the swatches show up as something I know I could not pull off unless I really could smoke them way down in intensity. So nice to see swatches of things so I am not tempted by looking at bottles/jars or a look model.

Christine,

I was wondering when and if you might be reviewing the shade Purpura? I really would like to try one of these shadows out,but I’m curious to see how Purpura looks before I place an order. I’m not really into blues, but the shade you reviewed today is freaking amazing,so if Purpura ends up being a flop I’d definitely go for this one.

These are all so gorgeous! The price tag is steep though so I was wondering which one or two would you say are the best investments, Christine? Thanks!!

It looks like the Buxom STAY PUT shadows. I got the 4pack today. They’re interesting, powder in pots, but it feels really spongy.

OMG!!!! this is too gorgeous. Christine in between #1 Blast of Blue and #3 Purpura which one do you think is the best. I was looking at your swatches and review of both and I can’t decide!
Thanks for your awesome reviews as always 😀
