Fyrinnae Are You My Mummy?, Banana Mochi, & Dragon's Wing Eyeshadows Review, Photos, Swatches
Fyrinnae Are You My Mummy? Eyeshadow
Fyrinnae Are You My Mummy? Eyeshadow ($6.80 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “vibrant, gleaming green with a hint of turquoise.” It’s a medium-dark, forest green with gold and teal shimmer and a frosted finish. Applied damp, it is fairly opaque, and patted over Pixie Epoxy it is fully opaque and slightly smoother. It’s part of the Arcane Magic range, so at a certain angle or closer to a light source, it is supposed to take on a “deep pink color, almost magenta.” It’s very, very subtle when it does catch the light at just the right angle and distance. Sephora Walk on the Wild SIde is similar but lacks the brown-ish base. Sephora Rolling in the Grass is slightly warmer. Urban Decay Zodiac is warmer, browner. NARS Night Porter is darker. See comparison swatches.
Banana Mochi Eyeshadow ($6.25 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “light yellow with a touch of shimmer.” It’s a light-medium yellow with a pearly finish; applied damp over bare skin gave it a more satin-like finish, and patted over Pixie Epoxy brought out the shimmer and gave it more of a pearly/frosted finish. It had full color payoff for both applications. MAC Bright Yellow is matte. MAC Double Feature #1 #1 is slightly warmer. MAC Colour Added is a bit yellower. MAC Bright Sunshine is brighter. Inglot #370 is matte. See comparison swatches.
Dragon’s Wing Eyeshadow ($6.25 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “shimmery bright medium green with a slight aqua highlight.” It’s a light-medium, subtly warm-toned green with a fine gold and aqua shimmer. It’s so finely-milled that this one did have more noticeable fall out during application, even when tapping the brush to remove excess and patting over Pixie Epoxy. Illamasqua Possession is a cream product. MAC Wondergrass is warmer, less shimmery. OCC Foxfire is a bit darker, not as warm-toned. See comparison swatches.
All three eyeshadows applied smoothly over the lid, and the texture across the three was very finely-milled Over a primer and Pixie Epoxy, I did not experience any issues with wear after nine hours (no creasing, fading, or the like). Fyrinnae doesn’t indicate their eyeshadows are long-wearing (their recommendation is to layer a primer under Pixie Epoxy, actually), but I do test them without a base and apply them with a damp brush; I had some fading after seven hours with Dragon’s Wing but the other two shades wore without fading or creasing for a full eight hours.

what is this brand?! never heard of it..where can i find them in usa?
fyrinnae.com
I am SUCH a sucker for gorgeous, deep green eyeshadow!
Both eye looks are pretty and colourful
I’m not even an eyeshadow person, and normally prefer mattes anyway, but I swear I’ve wanted pretty much every single one of the Fyrinnae eyeshadows you’ve covered.
“Are you my Mummy?”
Four little words that Doctor Who made terrifying.
Beautiful colors!
So true!
lol, that’s the sound that plays on my phone every time my mom texts me. I’m scared for my life multiple times a day.
Hahahahaha! This is easily the best thing I’ve heard all day — 😀
Are You My Mummy? (with a fuse gas mask….) It one of those product name I want to buy just for that reason. lol
Ditto! I just want it for it’s name since it made me nerdgasm!! When my son’s older I plan to dress him up as that kid for Halloween and teach him to say that instead of, “Trick or Treat?” 😉
Oh my gosh. Coolest mom ever!
I love finding whovians on random websites 🙂
Dragon’s Wing reminds me of MAC’s Golders Green pigment.
Gorgeous look Christine! So delighted to see you reviewing more Fyrinnae these days, they deserve the publicity as it is such a great brand. Their eyeshadows are phenomenal and so affordable. I love it that they ship to UK at a reasonable price. Looks like I will be adding Banana Mochi and Dragon’s wing to my collection (I already have Are you My Mummy?)! Think that order will have to go out soon as just spilt the whole of my Agenda shadow on it’s first use! That is the only downside about these I guess! xx
Of course I love the DC’d Jaguar on your outer crease in look #1. It’s beyooootiful.. damn!
:-O I think I need those two green shades in my life…
The first one… *drools*
WOW Dragon’s Wing! LOVE IT.
Why is it that every time I go to fyrinnae.com the page is blank!? Can you help please, it happens in all my devices! Thank you!
It is working for me, Alondra! 🙁
Keep the Fyrinnae reviews coming! I love the brand so much and this is helping me finally know what to order from them!
Oh wow! Dragons Wing and Are You My Mummy are AMAZING! Those colors are so stunning! They are so going on my list of eye shadows to get!
I want them all!!
I have Banana Mochi but now that I’ve seen the awesome look you’ve put together I have to get the other two too!
Are You My Mummy needs to be purchased just for the Dr. Who reference!
Electric Stardust is gorgeous but I can’t recall if you’ve reviewed it yet… All three are gorgeous, as well as the looks (really like the use of Are You My Mummy? with Jaguar and Electric Stardust!), but yellow is a color I can’t love. I might snag Are You My Mummy? and Dragon’s Wing, its just such a perky green! I have such a list of Fyrinnae now…XD
For those of us raised around mocha, “banana mocha” sounds like a tempting snack. However, the undertone of my eyelids may be just a bit too yellow for me.
Wow – my computer changed “mochi” to “mocha.” Since they are both foods, I should set the record straight. Japanese “mochi” not “mocha” – wherever that may be from.
are you my mummy is amazing! and extra points if its a dr who reference.
