Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing yet! I’m writing this Friday post in advance so I don’t forget to post, but I am hoping to remember to update it!
Weekend plans: Catch up on work/blogging! I have more than a few posts I need to write up.
Do you like to take photos? Of puppies, yes. Of me, not so much. Of things we do and see? A little.
Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 Here’s a breakdown of what we have:
- Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
- Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
- Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
- Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)
This week's doggo photo/video...

Recent Purchases: Not a purchase, per se, but I won a name guessing game for Blend Bunny Cosmetics’ newest collection release; so I won that collection, which is pretty cool!
Rediscoveries: My Viseart shadows. They are so dreamy!
Weekend plans: My son is going to his grandma’s house for an overnight stay, and our kitchen just got a big update, so while my son is away, my husband and I will get some time together and we’ll also be able to reassemble the kitchen and have some quiet time.
Do you like to take photos? It’s not that I don’t like to take them, it’s more that I don’t think to take them in the moment.
Congrats on winning the collection! What fun.
Purchases & rediscoveries: I just bought Revlon Softsilver Rose lipstick and it’s so freaking good. Perfectly vintage and also totally wearable on the daily. I also ordered the Recently Deinfluenced palette from Bella Beaute Bar, but I don’t expect they to arrive for a couple of weeks.
Weekend plans: Maybe painting! I’ve had serious Art blockage the past couple of months, so I’m hoping to just goof off with some abstract art until I feel comfortable again. Also work on Sunday 💄
Do I like taking pictures? Yes, of course! I have so many random things in my camera roll that I just thought were pretty. I think I take after my grandma in that. In the days before cell phone cameras she kept a film camera in her car and would stop and take pictures of things she liked. Mostly plants or flowers in strangers’ yards, but she was always ready if there was beauty to be captured.
Hope Grammie lived long enough for Google Lens. To be able to shoot an unknown tree, bug, etc. and find out what it is, is real live magic! She’s my spiritual sister.
Haul: My biggest purchase for the week was two products from the Disney collection on House of Sillage. My daughter is a huge Disney fan and when I came across a piece on secondary market I went to look on site. I remembered them from videos of Tara’s and didn’t know they did anything besides perfume and beautiful lipstick cases. I also remembered they were out of my price range. So I picked up one of the eye shadow palettes and a face powder set that includes a blush and highlighter. I purchased a Chanel lipstick in the shade Opportunity which has been discontinued quite a long time ago and I was able to find it on a secondary seller platform. It arrived and is essentially new. The seller had only ever used a lip brush on it and you can’t even see that. I had to take my mother to the Doctor in Missoula and stopped at Target so I stocked up on my CeraVe makeup wipes. I really like them as they don’t feel drying on my skin and take my waterproof mascara off quite easily. I also purchased Topicals Dark Spot Correcting Serum which I saw “Doctorly” talk about on YouTube. Decided it was worth a try and since it is relatively cheap, it can’t hurt. The YT channel Doctorly is two dermatologists and they review and recommend products.
Weekend plans: Not much. I am going to get some laundry done and probably will go to Seattle one day next week to take Sophie back to my daughter so have to do laundry and all the things you have to do when you are going away for a few days.
Photos: I do but I am not very good at it. The whole selfie thing really defeats me. I don’t know how to work my angles, LOL!!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries:
Real Techniques skincare brush set, Physician’s Formula mauve butter blush, Neutrogena caffeine eye cream, L’Oreal Infallible Glow foundation (why do I keep buying foundations?! Nobody knows), and Winky Lux eyebrow pencil.
I’ve been trying to place an order at Ulta to take advantage of their fall sale, and I’m being thwarted at every turn. The Ulta website and app are so lame. For every five orders I try to place, one actually goes through. Good for my wallet, I guess, but annoying otherwise.
Weekend plans:
Working on creating a schedule for myself since I don’t have a 9-5 job. And continuing to get my bathroom and makeup collection organized and usable!
Do you like to take photos? Of my cats, definitely. Of my outfits, yes. Of my face, definitely not. I take a lot more when we travel but even then I’m not much of a photographer.
I’m missing the Liquour Bottle Litter already! Especially Kahlua and Fireball ❤️
Purchases/rediscoveries: On Amazon, I ordered Revlon Glaring Red Glass Shine lipstick. Never thought to look there until just the other day!
Rediscovered the simple beauty of just building up and blowing out MAC Uninterrupted e/s with some Gold Dust pressed on the inner lid with some UD 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Stash as my liner smudged a bit.
Weekend plans: Zoom meeting tomorrow morning. Laundry. Lots and lots of laundry.
Do you like taking pictures? Oh yes! Of nature, of thunderstorms and lightning, of my kitties (other critters, too) of loved ones and close friends! My biggest regret was not getting a picture of Rachel R. and myself at the Duran Duran concert last year, because there were just so many people and I couldn’t think straight. Social anxiety issues on blast, for real!
Thank you so much for the photos of the various puppy litters you’ve had over the past while. It has been uplifting to share their journey with you. And thank you for the work you do on this blog too.
Recent Purchases: I have been looking for a new foundation since I have been dissatified with Fenty’s Pro Matte Filter – a bit too pale and so, so matte. I was in the local chemist the other day and they had a stand of Designer Brands Cosmetics (an Aussie brand) and they had a new foundation out – Skin Renew, so I have decided to give it a try. It has turned out to be a fantastic one – the only issue I have is with the pump. However I am prepared to overlook that for the moment.
Rediscoveries: Just shopping my stash for eye palettes – like Lorac Noir – that I have hit pan on several shades and a variety of lipsticks.
Weekend Plans – We’ve had Lachlan stay overnight this week and he had such a fun time that he wanted to stay longer, but couldn’t because I was getting organised to go to the Royal Melbourne Show. I am sitting here waiting for Nicholas, Anika et al to arrive. Apparently, the baby Charlotte has slept in!
It is a big day with lots of rides, showbags, animals and displays of arts and crafts. Love it.
Do You Take Photos – I sure do! But not of myself, just the grandchildren!
When Haus Labs comes to AUS you’ll have to sample their foundation. They have a really nice pale pink shade (they call it pale warm so just ignore that, it’s number 20 I think.) It wears like a dream.
Recent Purchases: MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork as a backup because I had a 15% off coupon at Macy’s. I ordered a bunch of decants of fragrances I’ve been curious about: Le Labo Santal 33, Guerlain Samsara, and Diptyque Tam Dao and Philosykos, plus a big decant of Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto, which I already know I like, but it’s been discontinued.
Weekend Plans: My big, time-consuming job this weekend is cleaning up my computer (tons of old files to sort through).
Do you like taking photos? Not really. I used to take tons of pictures of our dog, but since he’s been gone, I hardly ever take any photos.
Watching those pups takes my stress away! Love them!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Danessa Myricks Groundwork Defining Neutrals Palette for Eyes, Brows, Face and Lips. I watched a zoom class that she had on Tuesday and of course I had to purchase the star of the show. Also a couple of eyeliners from Victoria Beckham, so glad I purchased these they are superb.
Weekend plans: The dog has to go for a trim tomorrow but otherwise not much, my husband is working on the yard.
Do you like to take photos? I’m not good at taking photos.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Hourglass #3 palette from the new lineup. The bronzer is deep enough to ‘subtly’ set cream bronzer, the two pink blushers DO look different on my skin tone (one is a cooler pink, one is a coral pink). The rose-pink gold topper is really pretty as an accent – especially when paired with Dim Light (or any of the shades) from the Ambient Lighting Palette.
Weekend plans: Unpacking, editing and cleaning, not a chore when the new place is awesome.
Do you like to take photos? Yes, when the moment strikes.
Recent purchases: Nothing (not for want of trying but Sephora was out of what I really want); rediscoveries – the UD Born to Run palette. I’ve really been enjoying that one.
Weekend plans: a friend stayed overnight and we’re heading out to brunch soon with my son, who is also home for the weekend. Daughter, son in law and baby girl are coming here for brunch tomorrow. I want to cut out another pair of Elizabeth Suzann “Florence pants” (they’re really culottes) and maybe even get to the gym, if I’m lucky.
Do I like to take photos….I should but it’s not second nature to me, the way it is with young people these days who take photos of EVERYTHING. I even forgot to take photos at my niece’s wedding a few weeks ago.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I bought a Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder, Max Factor Icy Rose lipstick and Maybelline Superstay 24 H Skin Tint Foundation at the supermarket. Powder and lipstick are fine, nothing spectacular, they do the job. I like the iciness of the lipstick. I think I have to experiment a bit with the foundation, when I tried it it applied very uneven and patchy. Can be due to the primer, next time I’ll try it without a primer.
I have loads of foundations, but I wanted a sheerer one, I’m not sure this is the one, though.
Weekend plans: Dog walks and rest.
Do you like to take photos? Sure, but I’m a lousy photographer. I love taking photos of the dog, of nature and flowers. I hate taking selfies, I look so, so odd. I also hate having my photo taken by others. A stiffer more uncomfortable photo subject you have to look very hard to find.
