Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Moira cream eyeshadows

Weekend plans: I have some photos/swatches to do tomorrow, and then edit said photos! I also plan on doing a good bit of review-writing.

What pet would you love to have but can’t/won’t? Chameleons. They are so cool, but the amount of care they need is so, so high, and a lot of the care they need… not my strongest suits!

Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 You’ll find all of our games on Awordy, but here’s a breakdown of what we have so far:

  • Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
  • Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
  • Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
  • Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)

This week's doggo photo/video...

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Recent purchases/Rediscoveries: None of either

Weekend plans: FaceTime call with son and daughter in law in Tokyo in about an hour; gym and then postponed Fathers Day brunch in my daughter’s city today and then the grocery store (we’ve been away) and Sephora today; tomorrow, brunch with a friend who is moving back to Toronto (health issues; she’s actually rather not move but it’s a long and sad story) and then the gym again and tracing off a pattern for a dress for my grand-daughter.

What pet I’d like to have but can’t/won’t – a Leonberger dog. But we’re too old to deal with such a large dog (I remember the difficulties Daisy had getting to her feet when she was older; we were much younger then and she didn’t weigh nearly as much as a full grown Leonberger) and we’re at the point now where we’re free to travel and don’t want to be tied down by a dog and those responsibilities and complex arrangements. I have a friend in another city and she and I have long commented on how, if we lived nearer one another, we could share a dog!

I hope that your face time with your youngest son and DIL finds them both well and happy.
Having a brunch for a belated Father’s Day is a great idea as bubba will be at her chirpy best at that hour of the day. She is coming up to her first birthday and it is an adorable age.
I love little dresses on girls, having just bought a gorgeous little cordaroy pinnafore for newest granddaughter. What style are you making for Jemma?

If you look at a sewing site called Oh Me Oh My, it’s the Daisy Dress (Daisy was the name of our beloved Golden Retriever and the dress itself is just so cute). I’ll probably make her a bonnet in the same fabric (I’m going to try it in something inexpensive first as I’ve never made it, and then get some nice fabric).

Just looked up the website Mariella – that Daisy dress is absolutely gorgeous! I used to buy dresses like that for Olivia and she looked beautiful in them. How lucky Jemma is to have you make something like that for her!

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I ordered the Ensley Reign Crystal Skies Palette this week!
Weekend plans: I’m feeling really bad today (physically) but I have a social thing with friends tomorrow so hopefully I feel better tomorrow!
What pet would you love to have but can’t/won’t? A German Shepherd

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Still not dabbling much 😬

Weekend plans: Tonight while husband is at work, catching up on “Black Mirror” while finishing my birthday leftovers from Forever Pie (“meat hater” pizza, lol) and Dear Bella Creamery (coffee chip ice cream cake). Tomorrow, probably going to the gym in the morning and for a walk (with dogs I met last week, named Rooster and Taco) in the afternoon.

Pet I would love to have but can’t/won’t: At this point in my life, having my own dog would be too much, lol. In aforementioned alternate universe: even though I don’t agree with the practice of keeping “exotic pets” (i.e. creatures which should be living undisturbed in the wild, not captured or bred to be kept in captivity by humans), I find aquaria fascinating. They’re entire different ecosystems, miniaturized! But even putting ethics aside and only speaking practically, they are incredibly expensive, require intense maintenance (struggling to maintain my own self right now tbh), and are a renter’s insurance nightmare.
Alternatively: imagine having a companion capybara?

Recent Purchases: just the Blend Bunny Primal palette… it was 50% off plus another 10% off of that with a code and I’m excited to have it!

Rediscoveries: I used my Shroud IFB palette for the first time in a long time and really loved how it performed.

Weekend plans: it’s supposed to be a hot weekend, so we will be spending some time at the pool.

What pet would you love to have but can’t/won’t? A lion, tiger, or panther. But, you know… wild and endangered animals.

Aww! Freddie is a heartbreaker because he’s so handsome!

Purchases/rediscoveries: Nothing new purchased this week. I did rediscover two older UD lipsticks this past week, though. 100 Degrees (Vice formula) and Streak (Revolution formula). Both great for summer!

Weekend plans: Nothing much other than that due to Zoom sound issues this morning, I’ll just catch the meeting tomorrow via my Papago Park congregation. Will also be checking with a few friends if I can get a couple loads of laundry done in their place because the complex’s community laundry rooms have NO AC or ceiling fans!

What pet would you love to have but can’t/won’t? After watching multiple video clips of Pumba the Caracal, that is a wild cat that seems highly trainable, tame and very quirky because they mostly hiss as their primary form of communication, even when they’re happy! Yet, because they DO belong in the wild and not in someone’s home as a pet, I just wouldn’t do it to them. A more practical choice for me, if money was no issue: a black or palomino horse!

These puppies are so adorable and they look really healthy and happy. Winnie is a very tolerant big brother to them.

Recent Purchases: Boots No 7 daily moisturising cream (a new try and it’s good), CeraVe Moisturising lotion and a Neutragena Hydo Boost moisturer.
Rediscoveries: Used a few different eyeshadow palettes this week: Maybelline’s Burgundy Bar. CT’s The Rebel 2020, UD’s Naked 1 and Fenty’s Freckled Fiesta lipstick.

Weekend Plans: Anika is still in full pregnancy and the twitches/contractions she was having are called Prodronal contractions (I had never heard of this before) where the body gets the baby into position to give birth. Who knew? Anyway, they’ve settled down and now she is just feeling tired and ‘over it’.
The two eldest ones are on school holidays…we’ll be having one of them over at a time – usually whichever one is disagreeing with the others.
We haven’t got any real plans this weekend, the weather is cold and wet.
I’m meeting up with my youngest son Nicholas (father of the children) for him to pick out his birthday present, which is this week. We want to get him a really good, water resistant, warm jacket to wear when he is up in Kinglake leading the horse around for Olivia’s pony club lesson.

What pet would you like to have? I would like a little dog, but it is too impractical with our small backyard and all of our grandchildren. Plus it’s too difficult when you want to go travelling.
