Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: YSL came out with some shade extensions (three shades in a few formulas), so I bought and received those! It’s been a pretty quiet week in beauty!

Weekend plans: Against all odds, I managed to convince my husband to let me foster a pregnant mama and her soon-to-be pups. We are on puppy watch right now! She’s been settling in since Tuesday. The puppy/mom rescue I’ve been volunteering with agreed to take her in as long as I could foster her (they are full for on-site), as she was on deadline at the county shelter. We definitely are lucky with her, as she is the sweetest thing, housebroken, and overall, very chill. The rescue named her Brisket, as her litter’s theme will be “cuts of beef,” so I keep referring to her babies as steaks, LOL.

Do you like amusement parks? I don’t mind them every once in a great while, but I get motion sick quite easily, so a lot of rides are out for me, and I am soooo not a crowd person!

Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 You’ll find all of our games on Awordy, but here’s a breakdown of what we have so far:

  • Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
  • Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
  • Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
  • Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)

This week's doggo photo/video...

Recent Purchases: I picked up SG TropiColor and On the Horizon Light and they should be in today!

Rediscoveries: I’m cycling through my foundations/bb creams to see if I still like them all or if my tastes have changed. I wore my Wet n Wild Dewy Foundation and Nars Light Reflecting Foundation this week and still really like them both. Though, previously I was wearing the Purito BB Cream and love that the most currently.

Weekend plans: Just playing catch up on some chores and hopefully spending some time outside.

Do you like amusement parks? I love some aspects and dislike others. The older I get the more agitated I get in large crowds, especially looking after my son. But he’s at such a fun age and loves going on rides, so doing that with him is just the best.

I love all the work you’re doing with the pups, Christine! That mama looks so sweet and pretty, I know she just gives the absolute best snuggles!!! Brisket really is the best name for her, but her babies could always be sides. Cornbread, Cole Slaw, Macaroni Salad, Banana Pudding. Ok now I’m hungry for some southern food…

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I bought the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Balm and the foundation as well. I am testing both today and they seem really nice so far! The foundation has a strong scent but it smells stupendously good to me. I’d wear that as a perfume for sure! There was a promo code for a sample perfume bag so I am having fun going through those as well.

Rediscovered (again) the Hourglass Ghost blush quad. I always get so mad at myself for forgetting it, but much like an actual ghost once it is out of sight it is out of mind.

Weekend plans: I think we might go to brunch tomorrow and then do some returns/shopping. I got a couple of beauty related things from Target that really do not work for me at all, so we are taking that back. Also gonna go pick up some veggies, and hopefully some okra so I can make gumbo. I am working on my resume as well.

Do you like amusement parks? In some sense I love them, but in others it can be a hard sell. I have a Disneyland tattoo (Haunted Mansion) so obviously there are ways that I adore the worlds that can be created, but at the same time there’s a lot that is exhausting about theme parks. If I could go to Disneyland on a non-busy day in the spring to just enjoy the ambience and maybe go on my favorite rides that would be a perfect day. You could not get me within 100 miles of DLR on a capacity day in July at the peak of Southern California tourist season no matter how much I love the park though. I like going to smaller, less known regional parks as well even though I think those are getting rarer. I have a deep appreciation and adoration for vintage carrousels and the artistry surrounding them, so if I find out I am going somewhere with an antique or refurbished carrousel I am all about that. Coney Island, Santa Cruz, Central Park, City Park in NOLA…. now that I am thinking about it I would actually get a lot more hyped for a vintage or antique carrousel than anything at a theme park most days.

What a sweet mama Brisket is! She and her babies are lucky to have you.

RECENT PURCHASES: None
REDISCOVERIES: Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst. I forgot I had bought a full-sized one. Great one-and-done.

WEEKEND PLANS: Help my younger son with meal planning and some cooking. Do work paperwork. Laundry.

DO YOU LIKE AMUSEMENT PARKS? They’re o.k. It depends on the park, but it’s been ages since I’ve been to one. I’m not a big one for thrill ride oriented parks. I used to love Disneyland, but it’s been so long that I don’t know if I would care for it’s current state. I’m much more a museum person.

Recent Purchases: Dior 5 Couleur Palette in Tutu (gorgeous!). I know Tutu did not get a great rating on Temptalia, but it’s working well for me and I absolutely love it. I also bought Rouge Dior Velvet lipstick in 100 Nude Dress.

Rediscoveries: Clinique All About Shadow in Nude Rose. Now, without eyeshadow primer, this product is useless. But with NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer I find Nude Rose is a great natural crease shade for my skin tone. I’ve also been trying many of my MAC single eyeshadows which I haven’t used in ages, and created some looks I really like. I’m especially enjoying Kid, Naked Lunch, and Satin Taupe.

Weekend Plans: Just taking it easy. I may visit family on Sunday.

Do you like amusement parks? I love Disney World and we go at least once a year. I don’t go to any other amusement parks, though I’d like to go to Universal someday.

Recent Purchases: I caved and bought PML x Star Wars The Golden One. I am debating whether to ever use it but I am so excited to have it.

I also got new glasses and a new haircut!

I repurchased some empties and my favorite non-red lipstick (Gucci’s The Fallen Sparrow).

Weekend Plans: Organizing my lipstick with my new lipstick organizer. Reading, chores, buying lipstick before Lent!

Do I Like Amusement Parks: I loooooathe them. I don’t like the rides, I don’t like the food for the most part (I am lactose intolerant) and I have never had fun at one.

I prefer slower vacation: A nice hotel room, room service scrambled eggs for breakfast and a nice day of exploring the city in the morning and relaxing with a book in the afternoon.

It is wonderful that you are fostering that beautiful soon-to-be-mama doggie! I was a volunteer at my local NO KILL shelter and now I care for an outdoor group of community cats (in addition to my own indoor kitties). ADOPT DON’T SHOP.

Recent purchases: the new ColourPop 9 pans for Target.
Weekend plans: Nothing in particular, but thank Heaven it’s a three-day weekend!
I don’t like amusement parks for a myriad of reasons.

She reminds me of the one and ONLY dog I was ever able to have as a toddler from 1½-3½ years old! Broke my tiny little heart when my Dad decided to bring her to a dairy farm in upstate NY all because she was getting very upset towards my Mom when she’d “discipline” me. Maudie loved me and just wanted to protect me.

Purchases/rediscoveries: I placed an order with Oden’s Eye Cosmetics for their most recent collabs with YT creators. Went with Flora Story x Amanda from Makeup.Just.For.Fun and Sea Talk x Lauren Mae. Didn’t get Betty Jean’s (Batty Bean) since I already have some very colorful palettes with those hues.
Received my PMG Labs Venus In Fleurs Voyeuristic Vixen quad and got to use it Wednesday morning. WOW! There’s a stunning multichrome in there! Wore it with my rediscovered MAC Como La Flor lipstick and felt like I looked much better than I felt!

Weekend plans: Pick up the paperwork for a 6 month lease here. I’m still waiting on my lawsuit to either get a sizable, equatable settlement or go to trial, and so for the immediate future, I’m kinda stuck. Zoom meeting tomorrow morning. Laundry. Lots of laundry. Real fun.

Do you like amusement parks? Hmm….I love the excitement of the atmosphere, but at the current time, there’s literally no one here to go with. Besides, now that I’m much older than when I last went to a few in my early to mid 40’s, I really don’t think I could handle all the walking and standing in line, or even the rides anymore. Well, except for the ferris wheel! If I ever get back to the NJ boardwalk, I’d love to do that at a leisurely pace!

Purchases: I went a bit “to town” – found a Biossance cleanser that seems en route to being discontinued for $12.99 at Winners and bought it; my daughter got me a HUGE bottle of the original lavanila fragrance and a bottle of The Ordinary 30% AHA + BHA Peeling Solution (it’s not sold in Canada); at Sephora, I got The Ordinary Plant Derived Squalane and JVN Complete Nourishing Shine Drops and got 2 points perks -Olaplex No. 9 Serum and Drybar Liquid Glass Sealant. Then at Shoppers Drug Mart, I picked up a backup Avene eye cream and the sales assistant gave me a 100 ml. bottle of their Toleraine cleanser for sensitive skin (my skin’s not very sensitive but it’s a nice product to have) and a similar sized bottle of their body cleansing oil (I think I’ve used it in past and bought it for my MIL when she was alive; with my skin so freaked out and dry from surgery, I think I’ll appreciate this).

Weekend plans: It’s Family Day Weekend here so Monday is a holiday/sleep late day. Tomorrow, my daughter and son in law are coming with our grand-daughter for a visit and dinner (we’re getting wings and stuff). Sunday will probably be the gym and some cooking and Monday, maybe out for lunch or coffee with hubs after the gym.

Do you like amusement parks: Not really! I don’t like rides (vertigo and cowardice); I don’t like crowds and noise and crummy, overpriced food so it’s not really something I enjoy although now that we have a grand-child, I might force myself when she’s a bit older.

How fabulous you and Shaun are to foster a pregnant mum and her forthcoming puppies! She looks like a very good natured doggie.

Recent Purchases: My Nude by Nature original Airbrush primers arrived during the week and that’s all I’ve purchased recently.

Rediscoveries: ND Glam – have used this palette for most of the week.

Weekend Plans: We had the hottest day for 4 years on Friday and thankfully the cool change hit last night, so it is a much cooler day today.
We are having Lachlan over for a weekend visit – he wants to continue building his mammoth Lego castle that he got for his birthday.
On Sunday I will be taking him out to somewhere special – either to a pool or a playground.
Other than that – just the usual grocery shopping and a spot of house cleaning.

Amusement Parks: I absolutely love amusement parks – although I am not a fan of those Big Dipper rides. I really enjoy taking our grandchildren to them though.

Aww can’t wait to see how many steaklettes you get!

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Laura Mercier Secret Camoflage Correct and Brighten Concealer Duo Stick.

Weekend plans: Looking forward to a long weekend. Our friend has a curling rink set up on his acreage, every year we have a curling tournament party in February. Lots of people, food and fun. I’m bringing my dog and my daughter’s dog so it will be interesting this year, and it’s not terribly cold out yay!

Do you like amusement parks? Not for the rides, I had to go on all the rides when my daughter was young as my husband and son don’t like rides. So I’ve had my fill for my lifetime. We went to Disney World about 10 years ago, the line ups were not fun and now I don’t think walking all day is on my agenda. I like to people watch though so it would be perfect for that.

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I just ordered the Nomad Verona: Love & Death eyeshadow palette this week. It’s expected to arrive Tuesday.

Weekend plans: Worked all day Friday, weekly grocery run Saturday night, family birthday party Sunday evening, off Monday for Presidents’ Day.

Do you like amusement parks? I haven’t been to one in a long time, but I love them when I’m there! I actually prefer to have someone who doesn’t like the rides in my parkgoing group so that our ride lovers (including me!) have someone to keep track of our phones and wallets instead of having to rent a locker.
