Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Profumum Arso & Patchouly fragrances
Weekend plans: My back is a bit tweaked, as it’s been in this “I’d like to go out on you” mode for the last couple of weeks. It was better this morning, then I volunteered, and when I got home, I had to lay down and ice for a bit. So… rest, I guess.
What’s your favorite board game? I’m not a huge board game player, but if I had to pick, maybe Scrabble!
Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 You’ll find all of our games on Awordy, but here’s a breakdown of what we have so far:
- Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
- Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
- Flipplant (figure out the plant using a mix of text- and image-based clues)
- Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
- Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)
This week's doggo photo/video...

Fellow bad back sufferer here, probably a few others on here too. Totally know THAT awful feeling! I’m so sorry that you’re in so much pain, Christine. Rest up. Get some Tiger Balm and get Hubs to massage that stuff in. 🫶🏼
Purchases/rediscoveries: Well, in the end I wound up choosing Ulta for the 3 items that I really wanted from MAC x Black Panther collection: the Wakanda Forever eyeshadow palette, Wakanda Sunset Amplified lipstick and Showoff Love Me Liquid Lipstick. All such gorgeous new-news!
Weekend plans: Worrying, praying, hoping for good news. My daughter and her little guy have Covid. She just found out when she tested herself after a family get together where the baby’s Great Grandfather (or was it Great-Great?) had an opportunity to meet little Elijah. Her’s hit fairly suddenly, so she left early with their son. By the time he returned home, she desperately needed to get to an ER because her heart was in tachycardia and skipping beats, high blood pressure, too. They referred her to their clinic for monoclonal antibodies infusion for today, but holiday weekend, so they were closed early. Now comes the waiting for Monday. So, obviously, this is a weekend where perhaps I need to keep busy so that I can keep my mind off of the situation, since there’s literally nothing I can do to help her from here.
Favorite board game? I honestly cannot remember the last time I played one! Scrabble IS fun, so are some old strategic board games from many years ago.
I hope your DD and the grandbaby get better soon.
Thank you so much, Rachel! I’ve been a bit of a nervous wreck these past several days. If I could find someone trustworthy to watch the cats and had put aside a little nest egg for an emergency such as this, I would have flown out by her if even for just several days until I knew that she would be alright. Ideal situation would have been her and I living near each other.
Nancy, is there a way you can travel by bus or train to help out your daughter’s family or is too hazardous for your own health (or no direct route?).
Some people can get very, very ill with covid and I think your daughter is one of them. At least she was able to go to a hospital and are monitoring her situation. Crossing my fingers and saying some prayers for you all.
Unfortunately, she lives 1,800+ miles from here, so I would need to take a plane ride to get to her, Genevieve. I am very concerned about her wellbeing as she has heart/vascular issues already and very little support around her. Wishing that I was able to get there, I really ought to have been saving for a “rainy day” as they say, but I dropped that ball. She did seem much more lively yesterday, though!
I so hope your daughter is feeling better now.
I’m a bit behind with just about everything so this is kind of late.
I’ll send positive vibes.
Thank you, Helene! She sounded a little congested when I spoke with her yesterday, but no more fever, thank goodness. She said that the antiviral meds make her mouth taste very metallic and gross. Her little guy is still miserable, and making hers the same because I’m sure he doesn’t have any idea what is happening to him. Poor baby! And my poor daughter, too.
Poor baby!
It’s hard having a little baby who is ill and being ill yourself.
I recall once we all had a stomach bug, it started with my son, I got it and then his dad. As bad it felt, it was over in two days.
Having covid must be so awful for them.
Positivity keep coming, it doesn’t really help, but knowing that people from all around the world care can be kind of interesting and fun even.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing at all this week. But I’m planning a visit to Sephora tomorrow…
Weekend Plans: Planning a future vacation, laundry, relaxing.
Favorite Board Game: Trivial Pursuit
I hope you find some really nice treats Seraphine….Where are you planning to go to?
Spent more money than I should have at Sephora yesterday, but I’m really happy with my purchases. We’re going to Disney World in a couple of months. We’re pass-holders, but we haven’t been there in a long time because of the pandemic.
I hope your back feels better!
RECENT PURCHASES:
*Sydney Grace In Mel’s Memory Eyeshadow Bundle.
*Shroud Cosmetics x Battybean HalloBean Palette and pin set. The palette is stunning in person. I’m glad I decided to get it, after all.
*About Face Cheek Freak Blush Balm in Big O, Limited Edition Teal Mascara, and Paint-It Matte Lip Color in Saint Sangria.
WEEKEND PLANS: Continue helping pack and move the young adults into their new place. I’ll be doing some online Christmas Shopping as well.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOARD GAME? I don’t play a lot of board games any more, but I liked Scrabble, Clue, Sorry, and Life.
YAAAYYY! I’m so glad that you were able to get SG “In Mel’s Memory” bundle, too, Rachel! Even though I’ve only had one opportunity to use it so far, I can definitely say that I believe that you will love her vision for what she was hoping ND would have done.
You must be exhausted Rachel moving the world and its mother into their new place. I hope your new beauty treats help to relax you after all the work you are doing for them. Hopefully the end is in sight.
Recent Purchases: After a long wait of replenishing old favorites, off course I took advantage of the Black Friday sales (20-30% off + 15% cashback):
Paula’s Choice: 2 x Omega+ Complex Cleansing Balm (because I can’t have enough of this makeup remover!!!), UnScrub, Purifying Clay Mask, Daily Replenishing Body Cream, some minis (CLEAR Extra Strength 5% Benzoyl Peroxide, RESIST Skin Restoring Moisturizer SPF 50, Peptide Booster) and the headband they have now on the website. I got for free as gift the full size of the 10% Azelaic Acid Booster, a mini of CLINICAL 1% Retinol Treatment and a full size gift set (the 2% BHA liquid and the AHA+BHA Peel); so many of my favorites that I would have purchased myself any time.
MAC: Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation (they had an extra discount on this), the Peaches Blush (hate that MAC doesn’t sell online the refills anymore), Eye Brows Big Boost Fibre Gel, Veluxe Brow Liner, eyeshadow refills (Scene, Joie De Glitz). Got for free Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara (redeemed points)
Weekend plans: I actually took advantage of the free Thursday and Friday to do some hiking and just actively relaxing and enjoying myself (as much as I can these days). So Saturday and Sunday will be tons of chores and errands, maybe carving some time to read books.
What’s your favorite board game? While I like a little bit to play board games, I don’t own any… so I end up playing whatever others have. I prefer activity based games, maybe those ones with a little bit of dark humor sprinkled inside. I’m not competitive, I like to play for fun, so I’m not that into strategy board games; I love strategy computer games I can play on my own though. 😀
There’s nothing like getting your favourite skincare products on a good sale. Hiking and relaxing is a lovely way to spend some time and I hope you got to read some books amidst all the domestic chores this weekend.
Recent purchases/rediscoveries: I just bought Dragon Fruit and a couple of other things from Clionadh’s sale. I also bought a couple of gifts that were on sale for black Friday, but I managed to keep to small business. I feel pretty good about that!
Weekend plans: the main cool shopping area in our town is doing a small business Saturday event so we are gonna walk around and people- watch with the dog. We might get some snacks since there’s a lot of good restaurants too.
What’s your favorite board game? My husband and I really like Forbidden Island and Mr. Jack. I enjoy Uno and Yahtzee a lot for more traditional games.
I love a small business Saturday event in our local village area – such a fun way to spend an afternoon and early evening. Have fun Stephanie.
I know just how Winnie feels when the house is all quiet again (after all of our grandchildren have gone home!). Enjoy the peace and quiet Winnie and have a good rest.
Recent Purchases: I received my PMG Bronze Bliss as a birthday present and wow – it is definitely a shimmery palette – and it goes on beautifully.
Priceline, our budget beauty store here, had a skincare deal – if you purchased $70 worth of products (easy to do) you received a skincare bag for free. The bag itself is great, but the products are even better. So a good deal there.
Rediscoveries: Mainly I have been using my Bronze Bliss this week and I have paired it with the Sublime Platinum Bronze palette and CT’s The Rebel 2020.
Weekend Plans: On Friday I went out with my two best girlfriends for lunch to celebrate our respective birthdays (all of our birthdays are close together) and it was great seeing each other.
Saturday was spent at a local large shopping centre purchasing some of the Black Friday deals on items for Christmas presents.
Today, Sunday, we are taking Olivia out for an afternoon tea, as she missed my birthday celebration last week (she was up in Kinglake with the horses in preparation for Pony Club the following day). We are going to a Native Nursery cafe in the local hills that has a lovely cafe.
Board Games: I am not really a board game person, but used to play a lot of Journey Around Europe with my sons when they were younger.
Happy Birthday, Genevieve!
