Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: New UD Naked palette, elf products.
Weekend plans: Catch up on writing reviews and entering dupes. Really need to figure out a better way to stay on top of the latter! I did two quick fosters this past week, so I definitely need to buckle down and edit some photos, write reviews, and the like. Miss Lana was a dream pup, and Mr. Jeremiah is a staff favorite for a reason! He was always my favorite from Almost There Rescue’s Princess Diaries litter, so I’m so glad I got to spend a day and a half with him. I have to drop him off (and I’ll volunteer for a bit) early this morning, as he and his siblings have 9 (!!) appointments today and more scheduled for Saturday.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? Introvert! I like being alone and hanging out with people one on one or in very small groups, but even in a small group, I can only be ‘on’ for so long.
By the by… I worked with hubby to develop our own games! You can check out the games we have at Awordy, which include Concludle (trivia) and Adoptle (figure out the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses), and Mislettered (figure out the quote by guessing letters).
This week's doggo photo/video...

Recent purchases: Haus Labs Optic Intensity Eco Eyeliners in Deep Bronze Shimmer, Black Onyx Matte, and Charcoal Matte; Haus Labs The Edge Precision Brow Pencil in Granite Grey; MAC Powder Kiss Velvet Blur Slim Stick in Spice World; Huda Power Matte Lipstick in Girl’s Trip; and Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara.
Rediscoveries: Dior Hologlam Blush. I bought this when it came out and barely ever used it…until this week. It’s gorgeous!
Weekend plans: Visiting family, relaxing
Are you an introvert or extrovert? I’m a classic social introvert.
VERY excited about your recent puppy fostering. All the puppy videos are too cute!!!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Wearing my MTHRSHP: Diamond of the First Water palette today. With Pat McGraths’ recent Spring/Summer shows, I’ve also been rediscovering all her “skinshow” shades, layered over satin shades on my lid with a fluffy brush. Gives a subtle barely-there look that feels high fashion 😉
Weekend plans: Going to do some work and then visit an engineer friend out of state and look at some of his new technology projects. He does really interesting things with new technology and art historical archival work.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? I’m an extrovert, but I have really learned since the pandemic to greatly enjoy my own company! I’m my favorite person to hang out with, lol. Not sure if I ever want to co-habitate with someone again.
💄RECENT PURCHASES:
*Nomad Hudson Valley palette
*NARS Rising Star Cheek Palette
*Kaleidos Quad Palettes in Flowing Haze and Glowing Iris; Mono Blush in Dreamwalk and Sanguine; and Cloud Lab Lip Clay in Agave, Desert Scorpion, Cactus Flower, and Mercury Wave.
💄 WEEKEND PLANS:. My husband gets back from his business trip later today. Try to plan a getaway for next weekend for my birthday. The usual household stuff.
💄ARE YOU AN INTROVERT OR AN EXTROVERT?
Big time introvert (INFJ).
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Sephora was having a decent sale, so I splurged on liters of Alterna shampoo and conditioner. It is the most I’ve ever spent on hair stuff, but I already know I love the formula and these bottles will last for a long time! I am also waiting on a Juvia’s Place order with some eyebrow pencils, also purchased with a good discount. For the remainder of the year I will mostly be focusing on gifts for others, which I love as much as buying gifts or receiving them myself. I already have a folder of “Christmas Ideas” in my work email so I can be extra sneaky and surprise everyone!
Weekend plans: After a six month wait, I am seeing my new neurologist today. It couldn’t come at a better time as I am having issues getting my insanely expensive medication and experiencing some weird new symptoms. We might hit up the farmer’s market tomorrow, but otherwise I just have more unpacking to do. I get to finish setting up my vanity so I am actually really excited about that.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? I am more of an introvert but once I am comfortable with people I can be very gregarious and fun.
Recent Purchases: My Gourmande Girls Spooked palette came in and I’ve used it all week… I really love it! My Unearthly Cosmetics Fall Vibes palette should be in today as well.
Rediscoveries: Nothing in particular!
Weekend plans: Taking my son to Zoo Boo! it’s supposed to be cold, which will be lovely!
Are you an introvert or extrovert? Very much an introvert. I can be bubbly with people, but I need a lot of alone time to recharge, which can be hard to come by with a chatty son and husband, lol
Purchases/rediscoveries: Placed an Ultra order for pickup which was for Matrix A Curl Can Dream Hair Mask Cream and also the accompanying shampoo, Nyx Microbrow Pencil to take the place of my usual brown pencil by ABH, as I’ve heard that this is a perfect dupe. Cheaper, too!
Had to order a carpet shampooer machine thingy, too. Thank you Clarissa! 🙄
Weekend plans: Going in for my Remicade infusion this afternoon. Tomorrow morning my Zoom meeting, provided that I’m physically feeling well enough. Gotta get some SERIOUS laundry tackled! Have precious little in the clean cooler weather stuff clean, especially PJ’s.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? An introvert by nature, as I am on the autism spectrum, but can become an extrovert when the occasion calls for it. Mostly, I stay to myself, minus phone calls here and there. Yet, I can hold my own at a shopping mall/large store if I must, and I taught myself and was also taught by the examples of others how to cope in very crowded venues, such as concerts, shows, amusement parks and conventions. Not the easiest, but I focus on what is being presented and the actual experience, and not on the crowd all around me.
Winnie looks tired! Did all the puppies wear him out? Glad he’s doing better!
Recent Purchases: Way too many. I went overboard at Ulta’s recent sale, since I had quite a few points. I have been trying Lancome’s new Ultra Wear Care & Glow foundation and it’s interesting. I like the finish better than the Dior Forever Glow – less tacky on the skin – but I’m not sure where the “glow” in the Lancome is supposed to come from. There is no visible glow, ha. It does have some blurring effects, so maybe that’s what they mean? The color match was shockingly easy to figure out in store (I’m 125W) and it’s easy to apply and blend, but dry skinned people will definitely want a moisturizer under it. Also purchased some of the holiday sets for Bobbi Brown’s shadow sticks and Tarte Shape Tape. I’ve started using Shape Tape as combination eyeshadow primer/undereye concealer, and it is working better than anything else I’ve tried up til now.
Weekend Plans: Will be seeing a musical at the high school tomorrow night. My daughter graduated last year but is attending college in town, so we decided to go since some of her friends are still in drama, and I like to support the program. Other than that we will probably be relaxing. Next Tuesday, the BFF and I will be attending a Queers concert, which we’re really looking forward to!
Introvert or Extrovert? I need solitude to decompress so technically introvert, but there is a level of social interaction I also require without which I become stressed and sad. Slightly introverted?
Recent purchases: Chanel Rouge Coco Mademoiselle. The formula is not what I was expecting, I thought it would be more opaque, but it is pretty.
Weekend plans: Cooking and relaxing
Are you an introvert or extrovert? I’m a hybrid. I can be extroverted, but in many circumstances I can be reserved and shy.
Recent Purchases: Mochi Mochi Luminous Cream moisturizer which I really like so far. No other new purchases.
Weekend Plans: Physical Therapy exercises, watching Abbot Elementary, calling my dad. The usual! We had the carpets cleaned and I have to put everything back where it was!
I am an extroverted introvert. I love people and being around people and groups of people and I am very chatty (I have even mastered small talk) but I also need my reading time!
Abbot Elementary is so good! A lot of it his close to home as someone who went to inner-city schools and has worked in education (though now I am in higher ed.)
Have you watched Derry Girls? It’s the other current must-see comedy in my book.
I finally bought Maybelline Pink for Me lipstick and it looks great on me! Such an excellent MLBB shade.
Weekend is work, unfortunately.
I call myself an outgoing introvert. I’m not stereotypically shy and definitely enjoy chatting and hanging out, but lots of social time drains me.
Haul: nothing more than my Sephora birthday gift (they were out of the one I really wanted but I got the Tatcha one and it’s quite nice). I am going back tomorrow, however, to buy a gift card for a friend’s birthday and maybe buy something for me. Rediscoveries: Smashbox Showmance eyeshadow trio – so perfect for this time of year.
Weekend plans: It’s Thanksgiving in Canada but with both my sons and one daughter in law nowhere near home (Tokyo and Edmonton, Alberta) and my daughter and son in law and their baby isolating because they might have been exposed to COVID through his dad, who tested positive the day after they were all together, we aren’t going to be doing anything (a relief for me – the prep pretty much falls to me and as much as I like to cook, I’m so not in the mood). Gym tomorrow and probably Sunday (I am having total knee replacement at the end of the month and want to be in the best shape I can be in heading into it). I think we’re going out for dinner tonight – BLISS! Quick side trip to Sephora tomorrow, as I mentioned above.
Introvert or extrovert? I think I’m an introvert who has trained herself (because of the nature of my job, because I think that engaging with others is a skill that can be learned) to be more extroverted. I am quite happy being on my own (I relish it, to be honest) but I’ve trained myself to be confident in social situations and to draw others out of themselves.
Recent purchases: None, except for some extreme face wash for my acne-ridden cheeks! I’m 32, when will it end?!
Rediscoveries: My favorite NYX lip gloss, which I do not know the name of. It’s basically orange and I love to wear it over berry colors. I couldn’t find it for the longest time…. it was behind the faucet in the bathroom.
Weekend plans: I’m going to my friend’s baby shower tomorrow and raiding my mom’s vegetable garden.
Introvert or extrovert?: 100000% introvert.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing new.
Weekend plans: Facebook reminded me of a vineyard I visited 3 years ago so I want to go back while it’s still fall. There’s a couple of short story thrillers I really want to read and I have some personal grooming to take care off.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? Introvert, but if I need to socialize with people for a little bit I don’t mind. I’m not the anti-social / moody introvert, but I get very tired and mentally drained if I spend time in big groups; at the end of the day I need at least 3-4 hours of alone time to re-charge.
I feel much better doing things on my own and being on my own (which is quite selfish from my part), but (un)fortunately I must rely on others for help (I can’t do it all) and safety.
Even when I spend quality time with friends and family I prefer to be with one person at a time, in my adulthood I don’t think most of my friends knew each other 😆 .
As I aged I became less shy and more vocal in social interactions, not because I became more extrovert, but because I became less afraid to show my own personality and give my opinions.
How are your hands/wrists going Christine? Did you have the MRI this week? I hope they are starting to heal and take it easy as far as the blog is concerned, your health is more important to us.
Recent Purchases: Nada
Rediscoveries: Using all the beautiful shades in Lorac’s Fairytale Forest this week.
Weekend Plans: Nothing really concrete at the moment except for the ususal housework chores. Everyone had a great time at the Royal Melbourne Show last Saturday, the kids loved the rides (especially Harry on his first little tractor ride), the showbags and all the animals on display. Harry particularly loved the farm machinery as he is heavily into diggers and trucks at the moment.
The weather here is coolish, but we have had a ton of rain and the whole east coast of the country is still being inundated, so lots of floosing for NSW.
Introvert/Extrovert: I am a bit of both. In my former profession as a primary school teacher, you definitely had to be an extrovert when teaching and I did love the interaction with my students and the staff. But I also needed my ‘alone’ time to recharge the batteries. I enjoy my own company and quite like shopping by myself. However I find that I do like getting out with my best friends too.
My brace is off, and we’re just going to wait and see how much pain I have – if I still have pain, then we’ll get a CT scan done (but it doesn’t matter if the bone is healed, only if there’s pain). The area where the fracture was doesn’t hurt, but I have some pain elsewhere in my wrist/hand that I’m hoping will resolve. Thank you!
I hope the pain resolves for you, Christine.
I love all dog and puppy posts.
Recent purchases: Sephora Unlimited Intensity (14) lipstick!
Rediscoveries: I’ve been sick with infections so no touching or wearing makeup 🙁
Weekend plans: Going out to lunch with a friend!
Are you an introvert or extrovert? I’m an ambivert I scored right at 50% when I took a professional test.
I hope your infections clear up soon!
Christine – I just did your puzzles, and really liked them. I even got the quote right, despite never having seen the movie. I much prefer these one-a-day puzzle, as they are usually very quick time fillers. With longer, ongoing games, I can often get sucked in, and a quick “I’ll just have a quick play for 5 minutes” and turn into 2 lost hours!
Oh, thank you, Lina! I am the same way – quick games are my jam!
What a cute boy he is, dear Winnie!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing and nothing.
Weekend plans: Gardening, chores, same old.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? Introvert who may be thought of as an extrovert, my son thinks I’m an extrovert as I talk to people, but that’s something I’ve worked so hard to be able to do.
I did a professional test, so I know I’m an introvert, unfortunately I can’t recall the other three letters.
Like so many others here I need a lot of alone time, especially if I have been around people.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I haven’t actually gone through with it yet, but I see the PMG Celestial Nirvana palette in my near-ish future! I also plan on either buying the large UD She-Hulk palette or putting it on my birthday list since my birthday’s next month.
Weekend plans: My library’s annual all-staff event was Friday, shortened shift (because of the staff event) and weekly grocery run Saturday, nothing Sunday, no plans Monday.
Are you an introvert or extrovert? I consider myself an ambivert-I enjoy being around people and can get quite chatty among people I know or when subjects I like come up, but I tend to be quieter in group situations and I need to recharge by doing something where I don’t necessarily have to be physically alone, but where no expectations are being placed on me.
