Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Dior lipsticks
Weekend plans: Write some reviews, probably try not to take any photos for a lil’ bit so I can rest my left wrist/hand more (doctor said I could type all I want, though!). I had my MRI completed earlier this morning, so results next week! We’re celebrating my sister’s birthday on the weekend, and my mom has put together some multi-course meal per usual!
What do you like to do on your birthday? Hubby and I don’t do much to celebrate, though now we do more as both of our extended families are here. It’s usually just lunch/dinner with family, maybe a cake. I like to be left alone, LOL.
P.S. — Want to chat with readers on the regular? Check out Temptalia’s Discord where you can chat about beauty, makeup, and more! 🙂
P.P.S. — Check our hubby’s site for video gaming guides — good if you (or someone you know or your kids!) is into gaming, including crosswords and Wordle. Plus, I worked with hubby to develop our own games! You can check out the games we have at Awordy, which include Concludle (trivia) and Adoptle (figure out the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses), and Mislettered (figure out the quote by guessing letters).
This week's doggo photo/video...

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Some new tweezers coz kittens keep stealing mine, and awaiting my SG singles from the sale
Weekend plans: Working on some art and going to get froyo tomorrow. Nothing too exciting and that is kinda how I want it right now.
What do you like to do on your birthday? My birthday, my husband’s birthday, and our anniversary are 2 days apart, so we tend to do something fun. This year we went to Palm Springs, but we usually go on some kind of trip for at least a couple of days. We will also do a nice dinner if the bdays and anniversary fall during the week. The biggest birthday treat is just spending time together, so that’s what we try to do.
Recent Purchases: The Ace Beauté Paletteopoly game, ABH Nouveau palette.
Rediscoveries: I’ve used my Triochrome palette a ton the last couple of weeks. I just love this palette so much. Its my favorite in my collection.
Weekend plans: I’m throwing a very small birthday party for my son so he can spend some time with his best friends. He started kindergarten this week and he was home with us the week before that so he hasn’t seen his preschool friends in a couple of weeks.
What do you like to do on your birthday? I’m not one for parties, so I like to keep it low-key. I like to pamper myself in some way, like get a massage or pedicure, eat at a favorite restaurant and generally relax.
Recent purchases: I finally broke down and bought ColourPop’s Stone Cold Fox palette. Also bought Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage (trying it out; hoping it helps), MAC Creme Cup lipstick (squee!), and a new shade of Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup. I had been wearing Desert Beige for years because that’s what the Estée Lauder skin-match machine thing said was my shade, but it makes my face look darker than my neck, so yesterday I bought the shade Sand, which seems to be a closer match…even though the Estée Lauder skin-match machine thing didn’t recommend this shade. The astute Sephora SA ignored that recommendation and picked Sand for me.
Rediscoveries: Clinique Cool Down Cheek Pop Palette (Holiday 2019)
Weekend plans: Chores, visiting family, and relaxing ahead of what is shaping up to be a very stressful week at work.
What do you like to do on your birthday? I’m with you, Christine. My birthday is just an excuse to be lazy and eat fattening food.
Hahaha! He looks like my old girl Clarissa looks when I use the laser pointer to get her chasing her own tail!
Purchases/rediscoveries: Ordered (and VERY quickly received) Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid and Retinol Eye Serum, The Ordinary Buffet, and an empty MUFE palette for future Indy brand orders in the near future. And also took advantage of MAC’s BOGO Lipstick Day sale and ordered Heroine and Relentlessly Red, two shades I have wanted forever! Then some more clothing, too. Including the most beautiful screen printed T-shirt I may have EVER owned!
Rediscovered just how much I still love Viseart Coy palette and sooo many of my older MAC e/s singles, like good old Soft Brown, Folie, Fig 1, Indian Ink and Dazzlelight! Oh, and Morange lipstick last Monday!
Weekend plans: Pick up orders at Nordstrom Rack and Old Navy later today, plus finish up my food shopping. Not many things on my list, yet all are essential. Tomorrow a.m. Zoom meeting, go for a dip in the pool later. Have a swatchfest of all of my blue/brown, teal/burgundy-brown duochrome e/s’s in what I know will be a futile effort to talk myself out of getting PML Mothership X later this year. After watching Alicia Archer and several other medium to medium-tan folks swatch, use in tutorials and review this one, I can see how this is a cool-toned palette geared towards us medium and deeper peeps, so resistance is futile, I know!
What do you like to do on your birthday? Nothing! I actually don’t celebrate my own or anyone else’s birthdays. The only thing I might do differently is perhaps order my dinner thru GrubHub or a local pizzaria that I like.
Winnie is so funny! ❤️
RECENT PURCHASES:
*Amazon – 3-pack of Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Fig.
*Tinted Cosmetics – Pepper Rocks Lip Gloss, and several of their Lip Licking Balms, which are reproductions of the old Village Lip Lickers in the tins. So nostalgic and fun!
*Nordstrom – Surratt Artistique Blush in Cantaloup, Barbe a Papa, and Guimauve.
WEEKEND PLANS:
Mostly staying in. We’re having another heat wave. Cleaning house, mostly.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO ON YOUR BIRTHDAY?
Take a getaway with my husband for a few days. We’ll usually do cake with the family at home.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Sydney Grace Christmas in July goodies!
Weekend plans: Going to make a real nice comfort meal tonight and I’m so looking forward to mashed potatoes in particular haha. Going to hang out with a friend Saturday evening and eat some meat from their smoker and then Sunday family day with BBQ ribs!
What do you like to do on your birthday? I love celebrating all month long! Lots of seeing friends, one big family dinner, and lots of delicious food. And I love getting presents! I’m like a kid haha.
Poor Winnie – how annoying that little bug was for him!
I hope Christine, that your arm is getting better and you are taking it easy.
Recent Purchases: When SG was having its singles sale, I ordered Exquisite Opulence (because I am a fiend for gold shades and I love, love and love this one), Phosphenes, Hot Stuff and Blushed.
I also ordered a couple of jars of A’kin’s Day and Night moisturising cream from an online Australian retailer too that was on a mighty good sale. On the moisturising theme – I also got a tub of CeraVe’s moisturising cream – which I use for my body, The Ordinary’s Caffeine eye drops for around the eye area and a few other bits and pieces.
Rediscoveries: My By Terry Bonjour Paris palette, Temptalia On the Horizons Light palette, Guerlain’s Les Gris quad.
Weekend Plans: We’ve had a few days of mildly sunny weather lately, which has enabled me to get out of the house and take Harry for some walks – he’s quite a fast little runner, so you have to be alert and quick with him. I’ve been organising his birthday presents (coming up for two soon) and we’ve decided to get him a balance bike, with some cars and trucks – which are his favourite toys at the moment. I just have to get him a good helmet to complete the package.
This weekend is about cleaning the house, food shopping and hopefully, weather permitting, a Sunday drive to a restaurant in the countryside for a Sunday lunch.
Otherwise, watching the Commonwealth Games.
Celebrating Birthdays: I am not a big party person either, but I do like to get together with my family to celebrate it at a restaurant for either lunch or dinner. I try to co-ordinate it with my twin sister too – so often I have a lunch out with my girlfriends, a dinner out with my immediate family and even a dinner or lunch out with my twin sister and her partner.
Has been while since I’ve done one of these and I miss it. 😉
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Your review influenced me to buy the Fenty Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain in Mai Type (and am pleased, thanks!) First purchase in a while!
Weekend plans: Must finish writing a paper and business plan, prayers please for anyone who does!!!! 😉 So challenged for getting my thoughts out on paper (or rather out in an app).
What do you like to do on your birthday? I like to celebrate with a thoughtful gift (meaning it can be small or inexpensive, but just something that let’ see know the person really though of what I like or heard me mention something during the year), flowers and time spent doing something with others (out of the house-appt.). I tend to like doing something special, but not necessarily typical. That said, cake and dinner will work. 😉
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing in particular on either front this week.
Weekend plans: Worked all day today, weekly grocery run tomorrow, Sunday is open.
What do you like to do on your birthday? A nice dinner, either in-restaurant or takeout, with my parents, followed by gifts from them and usually from a long-distance aunt. My mom’s side of the family usually holds a joint party for my uncle and I (both November birthdays) in the mid-to-late part of the month.
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing new
Weekend plans: No specific plans… I might get a haircut… or not… Last weekend I had an amazing time and I did nothing of the things planned. I just woke up with a plan suddenly and I had the best time in a long while. Totally messed up my Sunday chores… but no regrets.
What do you like to do on your birthday? I don’t like to celebrate my birthday (I hate being the center of attention), so most years I plan a vacation either alone, either with my brother. I try to make it a special place, something I always wanted to visit or has a special meaning to me.
