Haul: No haul, though I skipped last weeks free-for-haul-friday – last week I bought Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Peony, which I’m really liking.

Ooh, two new palettes! Which are you most excited about?
Hope you love the Monarch palette – I think it’s amazing! I wish I’d got Berry Pop rather than Plum Pop, which isn’t terribly pigmented (I’d have preferred the stronger hit of colour from Berry Pop).
Haul: Inglot shadows (I think 420 and 434 but I can’t remember the colours – dumb numbering system) and another empty palette; Aveda’s new glossing straightening product (I always forget the name of that) and their Smooth Infusion Style Prep. I tried to buy more Clarins eye cream with SPF while I was in New York and went to several different stores but it appears to have been pulled from the shelves there too, which is a total bummer. I also went into the MAC store on 5th Ave (I think – we hit so many stores I can’t even remember) to get a 231 brush but the store was so crowded that I turned around and walked right back out again!
Weekend plans: take it easy and visit with our son, who is home for another week and a bit; maybe go on a picnic, which leads to….
Favourite picnic food: smoked salmon sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, some pasta or regular salad and non-alcoholic peach bellinis to drink. And fresh cherries or strawberries for dessert.
I wish Inglot had names, too, but I guess it is easier to do numbers when you have so many SKUs! I’d take even basic names like “Taupe Shimmer,” though!

I agree – even if they went with “Pearl Warm Brown #1”, “Pearl Warm Brown #2”, “Pearl Neutral Brown #1”, etc., it would be a bit more effort, I guess but they can classify most shadows as “Warm/Cool/Neutral” and then a general descriptor for colour (Brown, Taupe, Blue, Teal, Purple, Lavender, etc.) Nice trip but it was SO hot and even with my comfortable shoes, I ended up with 2 colossal blisters (one from a sock seam rubbing) so I didn’t get around nearly as much as I’d hoped (most of the time, I was just looking for somewhere to stop for a cold drink!)
It’s humid there right now as well, I think? Hot and humid is a rough combo, lol! I was in Arizona last week, and it was 110 degrees most of the time, but it was dry heat so while it was hot… it wasn’t as bad as when I was in NYC in September once.

Haul: The Body Shop Vitamin E night cream, day cream, cream cleanser, and hydrating toner. All for $20, what a steal! I also got some brushes I’m meant to review at some point. And I just ordered the UD Ocho Loco 2 set since it’s on clearance at Macy’s, and Sushi Kiss MAC lipstick, but they’re birthday presents so I can’t have them yet until the 16th.
My plans will be blogging and filming, as usual!

Haul: Shiseido Eye and Makeup Remover, Chanel Glossimer in Songe, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Initime. The latter is an interesting color. The Beauty Looked Book felt it ran cooler, while your review said warmer; I find it a bit of a chameleon on my NW15 skin. In some lighting it does run slightly warm, but in other lighting, it pulls cool – almost mauvey. I’d say undertone goes a long way to defining that pink.
Weekend Plans: Finishing up school apps, packing for the move, etc. al.
Favorite picnic food? I am not a picnic fan, mostly because the type of weather that allows is the kind I avoid at all costs unless I’m slathered in SPF50 and hat-covered. But if I most suffer the cruelty of the sun, it’s probably salad – vegetable, potato, slaw, etc. Give it to me. :3
Especially with the sheerness of the Rouge Coco Shine formula, it will vary more with lip color (its natural color and undertone)! They’re the hardest colors to portray, since they vary a lot!
Oi yes, I noticed Aura was much darker and berry-toned on my cool, pink skin. I think any sheer lip shade is worth a trip to the counter due to the variation. I know I have to go warmer to get a true neutral when I wear sheer reds, else they turn fuschia on me.

Haul: I bought a ton of NYX products during the 40% off Ulta sale (still going on) this week and I’m waiting for that and my Anastasia Contour Kit to come in.
Weekend plans: Since my boyfriend broke his foot last week we had to cancel our 4th of July plans. Not much of a biggie though! I could use a relaxing weekend away from the heat/sun.
Favorite picnic food: Toss up between fruit or sandwiches.

Haul: Chanel creme blush in Cheeky, Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream with 2% Salicylic Acid, Milani Color Statement in Teddy Bare, MAC Green Pearl Top Coat
I’ve only used Cheeky and Teddy Bare so far but I love them both!! Plan to use Green Pearl over Zoya Claudine sometime soon in an attempt to dupe Chanel Black Pearl. 😛

ULTA Has a huge sale and Thalia is a fantastic pinky nude, similar to MAC modesty.
Weekend Plans: grilling with the family and friends while sipping red sangria
Favorite picnic food: turkey and Brie on baguettes (and sangria of course!)

love Thalia. It was probably STOLEN at my day job, so others like it, too…. and I replaced it last week. Thank God it was NYX + not NARS, right?
That really sucks! I’m glad that you were able to at least replace it (it wasn’t LE) and it wasn’t too pricey to replace, but still, getting something stolen is horrible.

I want to try out the Living Proof No Frizz Shampoo. I need a new primer so maybe Benefit Porefessional. I’m using Hourglass’ Mineral Veil + Givenchy’s Mister Mat, but I need something more long lasting for the NYC summer heat. I’m also hunting for a new foundation and thinking of purchasing MUFE HD.
Let me know if you find something that holds up to the hot, humid heat of NYC!
Seems early for Ramadan, but I’m not of your faith. A whole month, that’s a real positive statement! You must be looking forward to Eid. I don’t think I could do it. Given it’s this blog, I suppose I should say it’s a good thing you still can wear makekeup before sundown….
Thank you! Ramadan actually changes every year, it moves up ten calendar days. Playing with makeup definitely helps the day pass faster, LOL!

What’s your favorite picnic food?: Egg salad sandwiches. My mother makes really nice ones in pita pockets.

Haul: Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Raspberry. Almost got Watermelon and Fig, too, but waiting to see how I like Raspberry first. Also, Sephora Color of the Year gift set on clearance (yay), Stila eyeliner in Gemstone, and Sephora eyeshadow in Sunday Brunch. And a really cute top and full skirt outfit from H&M.
Weekend plans: Four day weekend for us! 🙂 Movie today, volunteering at Humane Society on Saturday, and brunch on Monday.

Oh yeah you mentioned wantinging to know my thoughts on the New MUFE Aqua Matics, I was in Toronto last weekend and checked them out. They tester worked pretty well with my skin so I’ll be picking up a few at IMATS Toronto this year.
I love being able to go into a physical Sephora where I can try out texture. I’m not picking up any of the Hourglass blushes as they’re ALL too frosty for my taste. Glad I waited. lol

Haul: Just received Armani CC cream from Armani sale and it is AMAZING! I wore it for a run (sounds crazy but it’s mainly for the sunscreen in it, lol) It stayed on well even after being wiped off several times with sweat. Annnnnd it smells nice.
Weekend plans: finishing up my essay draft (so fun that not many friends would be join me for this)

My mom loved it, too. She generally hates foundation but loved the lighter feel of the CC cream.
I totally agree! Ever since I had some little bumps after putting on MAC’s foundation a few years ago, I went all the way to BB and CC creams (especially Japanese brands) for years and the trouble just generally stopped. Nowadays I only put pressed/loose powder on top of BB and CC creams so my skin doesn’t get contact with foundation products but I still get coverage if I want some more.
Haul: Purchased Maybelline The Falsies mascara, Maybelline The Rocket, Maybelline Age Rewind brightener, Loreal Miss Manga mascara, Too Faced Chocolate Bar (caved), and received my Naked Native Flushed palette (did they change the packaging?)
Weekend plans: Just relaxing trying not to walk around too much since I sprained my ankle last week hiking. Would have liked to go to the beach but it’s raining 🙁
What’s your favorite picnic food?: Don’t really have a favorite, but I really do like watermelon salad

Haul: Nothing has arrived yet but I just bought skinceuticals physical eye uv defense, solbar zinc spf 38, la roche posay ceralip, kiehl’s rare earth masque, bobbi brown cream shadow in bone, and the Iman lip palette. Crossing my fingers my fussy skin won’t react with anything. I’ll be heading to Ulta tomorrow to hopefully haul some L’oreal and NYX. Oh! Do you have any skincare suggestions for a girl traveling into dry climate (southern CA) with sensitive/combo skin? The last time I did that my skin dried out and got flakey so I want to be prepared bc I’ll be in a wedding =). I want to be armed with masks, hydrating sprays, lotions and the like…
Weekend Plans: Today, I work a night shift. Also relaxation and cleaning! I am a bit of a clothes/books hoarder but the wannabe minimalist in me is set on purging! =)

I’m rooting for your skin! What product are you most hopeful for?
Thankfully I have to say that our two dogs are totally relaxed with thunder, fireworks and any other loud noises but they’re in the minority. There are some good homeopathic remedies (like Bach Rescue Remedy which you can give to animals or some vets stock specific remedies for calming pets down) which are quite effective. All the best though with Mellan.
Haul; I’ve been a bad girl this week: Got a couple of perfumes: Cheap n Chic by Moschino and L’instant by Guerlain. Niiiice! also got 2 liquid eyeliners by Guerlain too which I’m very impressed with. Also got a skirt and a faux fur leopard print jacket on sale. Yay.
Weekend Plans: Haven’t really got any as we have someone dear to us staying here for a few days for some R&R.
Favourite picnic food: Hmmm, tricky as its been so long since we’ve been on one . I guess something fruity along the lines of pineapple or watermelon too.
We don’t get too many thunderstorms, so I’m not sure how Mellan would do with them, but fireworks, not so keen on. He is not horribly bad, but he’s steadily gotten worse over the past two years, so I really want to turn it around before it does get bad!
Which eyeliners did you get from Guerlain?
I got the brown and the black. I think these might be my HG’s now, surpassing even the YSL liquid eyeliners that I’ve used for years. I much prefer eyeliners that have a brush over the felt pens as they seem to drag my skin a bit.

Haul: OPI Glitter Gone base coat. I’ve been searching for this for a couple of weeks now. I love my glitter polishes but hate the removal.

I tried it on one nail the instant I got it home to test the peeling action and it comes off like a charm! I’m currently testing it with polish on top and even with my hands being in water quite a bit yesterday it holds up pretty good as a base coat. Yay!

My weekend plans consist of seeing my darling grand daughter Olivia – 4 months old and very cute.
Going to visit a winery restaurant for lunch on Sunday.
My daughter in law is looking to buy some red lipsticks – helping her choose some. Interesting that a few weeks ago our question was about intimidating sales assistants – well we had a bad experience when Anika was looking for a red lipstick and ended up with a red lip tar for $30 – way out of her price range. And definitely not what she wanted. At least she took it back. Very pushy MUA!
I’m glad Anika was able to return it! Nobody should shell out $30 and not be 100% happy with it! Fingers crossed you can find her the perfect red!
Haul: Bought the new L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Lashes mascara at the drugstore earlier this week and I’m really liking it! Also just placed a Sephora order to repurchase the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla and pick up the Estée Lauder DayWear BB Cream. Also spent 100 points on a Givenchy lipstick deluxe sample. Can’t wait for this order to come!

Haul: the only thing I bought this week is the Too Faced shadow insurance. I really hope it’s as great as my sister claims! I have issues with creating since even my lids are oily.
Weekend plans : took my daughter to see fireworks but otherwise the boring adult things of laundry and gym time.
Watermelon is the most amazing picnic item and should be available at reasonable prices year-round!

I hope Mellan is doing well. Even though my dog is very anxious he could care less about fireworks. He even hates loud noises but is just unfazed by them. My favorite picnic food is cheese of course!
He was definitely anxious for most of the night (after about 8:30pm), but he at least laid down after about an hour or so and wasn’t too bad from there!
Haul: Nothing beauty or skincare related, which is good for my bank account.
Weekend plans: I hope to have a lazy weekend at home with lots of sleep and time to relax. I had a hard working week with early morning appointments and long evenings in the office.
