What do you like to do on vacation?: I usually use my holidays go home to New Zealand, but I love to explore new places too 🙂 I’m backpacking through The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany for 4 weeks in July 🙂

Haul: eeep.. I’ve kinda lost it lately and picked up a lot of items I’ve been wanting for awhile; various shades of Nars paint pots, Chanel illusion d’ombres which I’m rather obsessed with, Becca cream blushes, Bobbie brown bronzers, some lippies, the LMDB new anti-aging powder, makeup geek eyeshadows and gel liners, a number of Z palettes to try and get even more organized. Spring is usually not my prime makeup buying season, but this year.. (¬‿¬)
Weekend plans: entirely depends if this bloody rain stops…
Vacation: what’s that? The farm can feel like a total drudge and yet most of the time absolute paradise. We have an incredible view that stretches out to about 75 miles. I never tire of it. But, when you have 200 goats, 40 sheep, 4 horses, 4 dogs, a peacock, a barn cat or two…no, you don’t get away. Who in their right mind would offer to babysit?…and milk the goats… LOL

I’m waiting on two orders to come in – some spring fragrances and the NARS Contour Blush in Olympia, and also the LORAC Unzipped palette! I’ve had my eye on it for more than a year now and finally decided to take the plunge, since I LOVE warm-toned neutrals with my blue eyes.
Question for Christine and commenters at large: I’m planning a six-week stay in a European city with some friends over the summer. I’d like to travel light, and I’m also taking into consideration that culture in this city dictates light & natural makeup, if any at all. Do any of you have suggestions for products that are great multi-taskers or favorite products for a natural look? I’m a fair red-head with neutral undertones, if any of my pale comrades want to chime in!

My recommendation is look to mix shades together – like take a light pink and deeper red lipstick, so you can go light, dark, OR you can mix the two together to get something in-between. Same is true with eyeshadows, gloss, blush, etc.
Pale, looking for a natural look? A beautiful multi-tasker is Becca Beach Tint in Fig, a tea rose cream you squeeze just a bit outcrop a tiny tube and it goes a long way. It’s a beautiful long wearing/waterproof blush that can also be used on lips and eyes. With that, a wonderful lip balm with a gloss sheen on top will keep your lips from getting dry, double as a highlight on the skin onto high points to accentuate cheekbones and dabbed on eyelids for a fresh look! *Tip* You can put things you need into teeny bottles so you’re not completely without or lugging around your vanity. SPF as high as tolerated is a must for your skin! Try one with a hint of luminescence or a BB cream, and use the Becca a beach Tint with Gloss/balm trick, and you’re set! (MINI MASCARA) :-)And if you’re someone who has to have eyeliner, bring pre packaged alcohol pads along with one neutral pencil that can double as both eyeliner and lip liner/color! I’m pale and did this exactly, it really worked for me. Beige/nude/mauve-y color pencil is flattering and natural. You’re set all day. My picks (as a fellow vampire, even if not a redhead) would be: your favourite neutral palette (sounds like you have a new one!), a matte brown waterproof eyeliner, eyelash curlers, and an MLBB lipstick. Extras would be a bright/fun eyeliner and a bright/dark lipstick- you can use the former for fun accents and the latter in so many ways: full on, as a stain,mixed with your other lipstick, etc.
My own picks for these items are: the UD naked 2 palette (or just UD Sin eyeshadow at least), UD demolition liner, my Chanel curlers, and Revlon Peach Parfait lip butter. The ‘pop’ eyeliner would be UD Junkie, Chaos or Deep End, and the statement lipstick would be Revlon Fire and Ice or UD Venom.
If I were really travelling light, I’d take Sin, Demolition, curlers, my Benetint mini and a lip balm!

Let’s see, I’ve swatched all the polishes and worn the Ciate and Nails Inc. matte glitter polishes. Liked the look of the Ciate, but the Nails Inc. polish was a bit difficult to work with.
The Kat Von D liquid lipstick is gorgeous! Wore that one today.
Been wearing the Marc Jacobs highliner quite a bit. I line my upper and lower lids then smudge it. Nice and quick look.
I’ve been using my SPF moisturizer and Macadamia hair products. Like them all.
I slather the Jack Black cream all over my hands all the time. I always have 6+ tubes in my house.
I really want to try my Macaron Lippies and play around changing the look of my red and pink lipsticks.
I caved and bought more of the MJB Highliners. Sigh!

Haul: (Yes, I did more. Becca Beach Tint Soufflé in Raspberry/Opal, and I loved the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayons so much, I also got another one, but this one in Obey-Ge. The 500pt perk from Tocca was actually a sweet gift, I added another to use as a gift! It’s packaged well, and will make anyone’s day! I love that! As well, I restocked another fragrance. THAT IS IT! ( In the first haul I forgot two sephora eyeliners, Sailor suit & Baby Blues in the Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof. The baby blues was a beautiful shimmery/satin almost lilac blue silver, very nice, but the other kept breaking and went down about an 1-2inch before sharp again.. I don’t recommend that one, though the color is decent. I just wish it performed better. (Cool toned Navy, platinum sparkle) I might as well review! 🙂

Haul: I’m so happy that I was able to get everything I wanted from MAC Alluring Aquatic, everything sold out so extremely fast! I ordered all the eyeshadows, both blushes, Aphrodite’s Shell ED bronzer and Golden bronzer (just for the beautiful compact!). I also hauled some stuff at Sephora. Becca Beach Tint in Grapefruit and Guava, Becca Beach Tint Shimmer Souffle in Guava/Moonstone and Raspberry/Opal, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, Becca Mineral blush in Flowerchild, Sweetpea and Damselfly, Benefit Watt’s Up, Sephora eyeshadows in Lunar Eclipse and Planet Earth. And I was able to find MAC Dalliance (my favorite eyeshadow EVER <3), so I ordered 4 backups! MAC should seriously bring back the mega metal formula, sooo amaaziiiing!
Weekend plans: No plans really (like always). I am going home on Sunday, though, after staying at my mom's house since my back surgery two months ago.

Haul: Clinique blush in Plum Pop, Nars, Kalahari eye shadow duo and Bite lipstick in a gorgeous shade called Vigne. I tried to purchase MAC Sea Worship eyeshadow but can you believe they wouldn’t sell it to me???? They’re having some “gala launch” next Thursday morning (when I am teaching!!!!) and can’t sell them til then. Isn’t that the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard? Someone is there with her money in her mitt and you won’t sell her the product. Okay….rant over. Oh, I also looked at the Bite Deconstructed Rose lipstick in Crimson….I came so close to buying it instead of Vigne but I’ll take my chances that I can get it next time I’m there.
Weekend plans: Daughter and son in law are taking me to a very fancy high tea tomorrow (it’s my Mothers Day present). It’s also the long weekend here so Sunday we’ll probably go to the garden centre and Monday do a bit of gardening.
What do you like to do on vacation: depends where we are; if it’s somewhere with a lot of history, I like to see that. If it’s a place of natural beauty, I’m not that much a nature girl/hiker/climber but I like to see that too. And wherever we go, I like to sample local food, sit in a cafe and watch people going about their business and meet local folks.
Bite’s stuff doesn’t seem to sell out (or at least not quickly) – either they make enough stock or not everyone is in a mad dash to get it!

Went on a Mothers Day haul with my Mom last Saturday and lost my mind. We bought clothes, shoes, makeup and had a girls dinner. The guys celebrated with us on Mothers Day. Our makeup haul included a few Deborah Lippman nail polishes (fav is a red glitter called Ruby Red Slippers), Guerlain Sun Celebration bronzer, YSL gloss volupte in Opium Perssn (divine orange), Shiseido Lacquer Rouges including Nocturne, Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector, Marc Jacobs lipsticks, Defiant Coral lippie from Estée Lauder. I also bought Mom some Anastasia and Mac products. She looks cute. I’m still exhausted. My VIB rouge status was extended thru 2015 and I got a complimentary formula X nail polish called x love rouge. It’s a vibrant red and will look really cute especially in the winter.
Weekend plans: gearing up for Memorial Day next week, errands only. I’m “researching” for my July birthday haul (he,he).

Haul: (looks around furtively to make sure no one walks in) Nars smudge proof eye primer, been meaning to get this for some time (Thanks Christine!) especially when I found out that not only can you use it for under your eyeshadow, but also for taming your brows AND putting it on your lips to prevent feathering. I didn’t know it could do this! Am going to leave it near a pile of dishes and see if it washes them while I’m not looking!! How versatile is this product?! Also bought Hourglass brow sculpting pencil – the lovely SA did my brows with this and they looked fab. A girlfriend who was with me bought one too as it looked great on her too.
Weekend plans: Laundry, vacuuming and other fun stuff. Not.
What do I like to do on vacation: A bit of everything: blobbing in the sun (but only for an hour or so – I get bored otherwise), shopping, sightseeing, shopping, trying out the local cuisine and last but not least, shopping. Clearly I have a problem with the blobbing part so may have to cut that out and substitute it for ….shopping! woohoo!

Weekend plans: RELAX! My 20 page paper is complete, and I just have one exam to take, but it’s a take home exam. I might go see the Charles James exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Sunday.
What do you like to do when on vacation?: I also like to eat (so typical of me, haha) but I do like checking out museums and local venues that are unique to the area. For example, I always visit the Eastern Market when I go to Washington D.C.

Haul: I finally recieved my Sarah Chapman order including Overnight Facial, Serum No 1, Cleanser and some goodies. I am really looking foreward to to treat myself with these products.
Weekend plans: Nothing special. I try to relax a lot.
What do you like to do on vacation?: Relax at the pool or enjoy discovering big cities.

Ah, busy busy.. I thought perhaps that my sardonic sense of humor was leaning on inappropriate and misunderstood thus it had not been accepted to be posted. Sometimes I’m really good and can stay on top of them (keep the queue under 50), but lately, I’m about ~100 comments behind at any given time – I usually spend my morning answering comments, and I try to do a “first pass” on comments so that each post has some, but some of the later afternoon comments I’m not able to get back to until the next day or so! But please don’t worry! 🙂

Haul: I bought skin/body products during the beauty.com sale, but I’m counting that as nothing since those are things I needed. I have managed to not buy any makeup for at least three weeks now, which is impressive. Free for haul Fridays helps me keep track, haha, thanks Christine.
Weekend plans: Finally, this is the last weekend I have to write a paper/study, till next semester. There’s also the worlds fair anniversary fair in the park, I might go check that out.
