Welcome to Free For Haul Friday!
- Haul: I don’t think anything arrived this week, but I did place orders for pieces from Dior and Guerlain at Nordstrom, then MAC’s new Mineralize Eyeshadow quads, all yesterday though none are due to arrive any time soon!
- Weekend plans: Football on Sunday! I have some bookkeeping that I need to attend to this weekend, so that’s the major drudgery component.
- Favorite brunch dish?: I’m really into crab cakes benedict right now.

I ordered the sephora favorites skin blender, cleanse and the original Naked and I’m kind of horrified by this impulsive buy. I’m new to makeup (never wore makeup in my teens) so I’m grabbing samples left, right and center just to make up for lost time and I figured sampler sets were my only hope.
Sample sets are a great way to start! 🙂 I didn’t wear makeup until I was 18!

Favorite brunch dish?: I never really do brunch, but how about pancakes? Is that a brunch dish? 🙂
Brunch is basically late breakfast… and occasionally with some lunch-ish items in. But yes, pancakes count!!

Very eager for you to get your MAC order because I’m really curious to read how these MES quads measure up.
Haul: MAC Hubbable Lipcolour in Red Necessity (and it is a red necessity – I LOVE it); MAC Legendary Black Pro Longwear eye shadow (this shade is being discontinued, according to the Canadian MAC site, since it’s in their “Good byes” section; it’s a fabulous colour and I think everyone reading this should go and buy it while they can); Caudalie Divine Oil (I’d got a love assortment for a friend for Xmas and was sorry I didn’t do the same for myself; the gift set I’d got her was sold out, but I did get a bottle of the oil and a hand cream); Cake Beauty set with their Incan Shower Oil and Body Oil – what a DEAL. Both of them are full sized and yet the set of two was less than the shower oil on its own and far less than the spray body oil. Oh, I also got Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach and another Laura Mercier Healthy Lips lipstick.
Weekend plans: Older son flies back to Edmonton obscenely early tomorrow morning so we’re taking him to the airport then taking younger son back to the city where he goes to university and then we’re going to friends’ house for brunch. Rest of the weekend will be taking it easy and getting ready for going back to work (school) myself. It’s the run up to the end of semester so it’s a really busy time with culminating tasks in all 3 classes and then exams and the last minute panic of kids handing things in. Busy time.
Favourite Brunch Dish: I love any sort of savory strata/breakfast casserole type dish. And give me some smoked salmon, capers, lemon and a nice bit of bread or bagel and I’m a happy camper indeed.
I got a UPS notice that it’s supposed to arrive today, and it actually says “out for delivery,” so it SHOULD be on the truck 🙂 Hopefully will have something up by tomorrow… we’ll see when it arrives.
I was surprised to see a few of the PLW Eyeshadows that were discontinued!
I just got my black friday haul from sugarpill which included the burning heart and heart breaker palettes, @#$%! and bulletproof pressed shadows, absinthe, magpie, starling, and stella loose shadows, and of course, a couple stickers for my truck.
I also plan on doing a mini Sephora haul tonight consisting of philosophy clear days ahead acne wash and origins checks and balances wash to use with my clarisonic. I’m also going to ask for a sample of Glamglow supermud clearing mask… I can’t justify buying it until I’ve used it and love it. SO expensive.

Haul: Just got some MUG eyeshadows & Haus of Gloi perfume oils in. Tom Ford lip shines from Nordstrom should arrive today! Otherwise, still playing with all my new Christmas toys – Tom Ford Lovelust blush, Violet Fatale lipstick, Bobbi Brown shimmer brick eye palette, and Marc Jacobs’ Showstopper Holiday set.
Weekend Plans: Mostly take it easy. Heading out to the new Kate Spade store on Sunday with my best friend to burn some gift cards : -D
Favorite brunch dish: A local restaurant makes my favorite breakfast in the world; creme brulee waffles!

Weekend plans: Enjoy the last days of Christmas break before school starts again on Tuesday.
Favorite brunch dish?: I don’t really ever have brunch. My first meal of the day is always the same as a typical breakfast; slice of bread with cheese, jam, turkey etc. Even if it’s 3 pm that’s what I’ll eat. I’m very boring when it comes to food (except dinner).
LOL, I know it’s a HAUL when even on my over-sized monitor (I went for one mammoth monitor over dual) and it’s a full wall of text.

I basically ordered every pair of regular length sweatpants from Monrow and Sundry I could find on Revolve Clothing. I swear those are the softest and most comfortable sweatpants ever! The sweaters were a few random from Revolve Clothing, but mostly cheap Forever21 stuff (gotta save money somewhere when I spend so much on makeup, right?). Comfortable, cheap and more than nice enough to wear around the house 🙂

Haul: the Ready Artistry palette of BareMinerals that I ordered just arrived yesterday! I also bought something like 6 sweaters from French Connection and 6 pairs of designer jeans from Harrods, because everything is on crazy sale right now. I also placed an order for a few items in MAC’s Magnetic Nude collection from Selfridges… Well, that’s a lot of stuff when enumerated like that!
Weekend plans: pick up the Selfridges and the French Connection orders off of Oxford St. Try a purple-ish makeup look to go with my new glasses and inaugurate it at work. Try and get myself psyched up enough to start posting looks on my Temptalia page!
Favourite brunch dish: tea and crepes.

Oh, wow! That is a tough choice… If you want brighter, warmer colors, then Pretty Rebel. If you want cooler-tones, then Bonne Etoile… Pretty Rebel might stick around for longer, though!

What do you know about the NARS final cut collection? I’m seeing some press pictures and I’m seriously in love. I’m tempted being it all home if they are as good as it looks.

NARS hasn’t sent any information on this to me, sorry!
Haul: I went to Nordstrom yesterday, after finding they carried NARS Multiple in Maldives, and it was in-stock. Unfortunately, although their system said there were 3, none were found. I was, however, able to swatch it, and I do love it, so I’ll just order it when the Spring collection is released, along with a few “vintage” pieces. I was also able to pick up 3 NARS/Guy Bourdin eyeshadows in Rage, Mississippi Mermaid, & Bad Behaviour (after swatching, I realized I didn’t want Wishful Thinking).
After a bit of roaming around the different counters, I found myself at MAC, where I decided to swatch Superb & At Dusk. When I swatched them before, I didn’t really care for either, but it could’ve been the lighting at the other store. I still had the Maldives swach on my hand, and when I layered Superb & At Dusk, I realized the two swatches weren’t too far off on my skin. So, I at least I have this combo for now, along with the ability to intensify either highlight or color where I want, and a product to wear over powder.
Plans: Nothing, as usual…
Brunch: Omelettes are my usual fare.
Glad you were able to at least swatch Maldives in store, so you’ll feel comfortable ordering it online later!
It’s very elusive in these parts, LOL! One of these days, I plan to make the trek to the NARS Boutique, but it’s sooo out of the way. in terms of actual mileage, it really isn’t that far, but it’s in a part of town I don’t really frequent (although, ironically, it’s my old “stomping grounds”), along with the MUFE store & MAC Pro store. I’m beginning to think I should start saving…
Haul: I got a few Revlon matte lipsticks online. I’m still grouchy over the fact that Revlon discontinued them. I got Strawberry Suede, Pink Pout, 2 tubes of Really Red, and Smoked Peach; Biotique lip balm (Indian brand), Biotique eye cream, St. Ives Apricot Scrub, Literary Lacquers polishes (Etsy store) in Lake of Shining Waters and Shift of Fate. Essie LuxeEffects polishes in Pure Pearlfection and Sparkle on Top.
Weekend plans: I work all weekend, but tomorrow will be my first independent job (away from the company), so I am hoping that goes well. If it does I’ll be a little closer to getting my own clients and I’ll then be able to quit working for this company.
Favorite brunch dish?: There are so many! Pancakes, waffles, Eggs benedict.

I’ll be going by ULTA today to return the Revlon stuff and I wanna pick another Urban Decay super saturated lip pencil or one of their revolution lipstick.

Haul: I saw a lot of new stuff at the drugstore this week so I went a bit overboard. I got L’Oreal Silkissime (?) eyeliner in highlighter, L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Silver Sky, Rimmel ScandalEyes in Rich Russet, Chestnut Taupe, and Pink, NYX Infinite Eyeshadow Sticks in Flushed and Almond, CoverGirl Bombshell mascara, Urban Decay Naked2, Naked3, and NakedBasics eyeliners, Benefit PoreFessional Agent Zero Shine, and a Clarisonic replacement brush head.
Weekend Plans: Get everything around for my clinical. 3 ten week clinicals and a board exam and I am officially a DPT!
Favorite Brunch Dish: Hm, can’t say that I have one.

Haul: Just some Nails Inc polishes (that I love!), some Ciate polishes, and one Sally Hansen polish. Oh, and Urban Decay Dangerous and Fun palettes. I figured I would get more use out of the Dangerous palette than the Smoked palette, especially at the reduced price.

Baker Street (bright cobalt blue), Electric Lane (sparkly holographic top coat, all the 3D Special Effects glitters are so pigmented and pretty. Not a polish, but their topcoat is my favorite because it dries quick and isn’t thick.

Haul: Well mom just brought me a T3 compact straightener for my birthday. Does that count? Also some Redken shampoo and conditioner thanks to Ulta’s sale. Picked up Sally Hansen Ama-Zen nail strips (hey under $3!) and of course picked up my Sephora birthday gift! For you ladies that want to know, IT’S MAKEUP FOREVER THIS YEAR!!! YAY!
Weekend plans: Celebrating my birthday with sushi, bringing my cousin and friend to Blue Bottle Coffee for some coffee, the cuz loves Blue Bottle. (Birthday’s on the 6th though)

Haul: This was a great week for me, as I was able to use some gift cards to purchase some of the items at the top of my wish list. Included are: Guerlain Rouge G in Gigolo, Chanel Le Varnis in Taboo, Chanel Le Blush Creme in Fantastic, Chanel Les Beiges 40, and Deborah Lippman nail polish in B!tches Brew (am trying it as a dupe for Chanel’s Malice). I’m still on the the hunt for Guerlain’s Rouge G in Madame Botifole which everyone seems to be out of!
Weekend plans: Take the kids to Disneyland and pack up all my Christmas decorations.

Haul: A bareMinerals Smoky Eye Tutorial off eBay because it came with this very cool v-shaped brush that I’m hoping will make eyeshadowing easier for me. Also, Hourglass lipstick in Empress, a Wet n Wild palette from ACW, philosophy Supernatural foundation (the MA color tested me and it looked really nice on), Tom Ford lipstick in Bruised Plum (which I’m going to return because I think it is too similar to my Urban Decay Manic lipstick, and I don’t need a $50 dupe!), and two Physician Formula blushes (Ulta BOGO 50%), Sephora eyeliner and eyeshadow, and some bareMinerals eyeshadows that the jury is still out on because they might be too sparkly for me.
That might be it for me because my resolution is to strive for a no-to-very-little-buy for the year.
Weekend plans: Volunteering at the Humane Society with my husband and getting back into my Zumba classes.
Favorite brunch dish?: Um…everything. Brunch is my favorite meal! But I love all kinds of eggs benedict, stuffed French toast, waffles, croissant sandwiches…

I didn’t go out but my boyfriend got me a couple of lovely Milani blushes Luminouso and Rose D’oro with the cvs sale. Quite chipper abouts that. 🙂

Haul: Tarte Stop & Stare Eyeliner Set and It Cosmetics Discover It Kit. Drugstore skincare. Got more Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream–feels so wonderful! Bag Balm for hands (nurse said this was great if I soak my hands in water, then slather this stuff on, put on some cotton gloves overnight to let it do its work. I wash my hands several times an hour for work so hopefully this will be the miracle worker I need).
Weekend Plans: Purge! Clean! Want to start early bc Chinese New Year is looming just around the corner. Oh, and my birthday too. Maybe I should make plans for that. And errands…hopefully coffee with friends as well.
Favorite brunch dish? hot cereal–I prefer steel-cut oats. Also like eggs benedict–poached eggs on biscuits with avocado!

Plans: eat healthier and dance(jump around the house), drink a lot of green, echinacea and other teas
Hmmm, brunch…well, I've been waking up at noon and have my first meal then so I guess it's a brunch :)) a pretzel with a lot of sesame and orange juice.
