i got an illamasqua cream blush in rude, sephora by opi nail polish in beauty junkie, boscia oil blotting sheets, a new completely filled mac palette, coastal scents creative me #1 palette, mac 188 brush (my first mac brush ever!), a brush set from the mac holiday collection, and mac wipes. phew, that’s a lot.
i started reading a biography called “Model” it’s pretty funny and really shows the hardships of being a model… it’s by cheryl diamond.
Nothing, too busy with work and family!
A great movie that will warm your heart is “The Way We Get By” about the elderly greeters who meet the planes of troops going through Maine. An amazing film made with love and have tissues handy! You can get it though netflix and it is on “watch on demand”.

I’ve bought a few things on eBay (incl. a Guerlain eyeshadow duo and a couple of Laura Mercier palettes) and 3 L’Oreal chrome eyeshadows in Boots over the last week, plus ordered most of the new Guerlain holiday collection online, but only received the powder spray yet (it’s gorgeous!).
I also managed to sell a few of our baby items (buggy, cot, travel cot, etc.) on eBay and made over $150! 🙂
L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof in carbon black for my mom since she uses the original and said she’d love it in waterproof.
Sephora: Benefit Cosmetics Something About Sofia – 1 oz Eau de Toilette Spray – which smells like MAC wipes to me so I’m in love.

Urban Decay: Lipsticks: Naked (love it), Gravity, and Revolution, also Pocket Rocket in David, the Apocalyptic Nail Kit, matte shadows in Cult and Shakedown, the Ammo plus primer potion palette, and the Super Stash.
A small purchase: Sephora OPI nail polish in Untarnished. I am going to be good and not buying anything until MAC Warm and Cozy, but I am still debating on the Urban Decay Book of Shadows. The only beauty products I will probably buy now until over Christmas is probably skin care.
Organizing supplies finally =). Now it won’t look like a cosmetics tornado went through my bathroom.
I got the Stila Kitten eyeshadow/lip gloss pack at Sephora, plus a single of Barefoot Contessa shadow on eBay. Now I need to find an inexpensive (drugstore) multitasking eyeshadow brush. Any suggestions?

yes def sonia kushak for decent brushes- especially the angled eyeliner brush- i use it for my mac fluidline !
I like EcoTools brushes. Also, the Costco Borghese brushes are pretty good.
Mm, Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon and Coromandel. NARS blush in Dolce Vita. Clinique’s cream liner in Black Violet (or something). Sorely tempted by the plummy shade in Lancome’s holiday collection….

Your swatches of the chanel made me want to go out and buy every color!
I picked up 2 Baroque Boudoir lipsticks today – one for me and one for my mom for Christmas. I wanted to resist D’Nouveau, but just couldn’t when I saw it in person. As I suspected, it appears much more berry on me since I’m so fair. I’m so in love with the packaging! I couldn’t even throw away the box because it was so beautiful.
I tried to take advantage of the free tote at Sephora today, but they had neither the Marc Jacobs Lola ring, nor the UD liner pack that I was hoping to pick up as gifts in stock. So annoying! I don’t understand how the biggest Sephora in Toronto is always so short on stock. I quickly exited the store to avoid any more temptations! haha
This is going to be a busy weekend for me. I have a paper to write for Monday on a play that I went to see last week called “That Face” – absolutely amazing and definitely worth reading for those who haven’t. I also have another paper to write on a book I read about racism in nursing by Tania Das Gupta – I highly recommend it for those interested in race/class/gender issues, and especially for those in the healthcare profession!
I did the first part of my christmas and birthday shopping. I bought Juxt and Hush Refill and an empty quad for a friend, Satellite Dreams, Bare Study and Brush 239 to recieve from my parents, and a backup of Dazzle Lash and Cleanse off oil.
Last Saturday I stopped at the YSL counter just looking for another Rouge Volupte. I consulted the mua, told him that I already own nr. 2 and was looking for another evening color. He looked at my face and said, Nr. 3, you will love it. I was sceptic, didn’t believe him. But he applied the lipstick and he was right. The perfect evening color. So I bought Nr. 3 together with the corresponding lipliner and got a quick and classy makeover including some advises.
This guy was just unbelievable and professional. I will never contact another YSL counter, because of this charming experience.
I was pretty good this week and I don’t think I bought any makeup products. I did get new nail gems, Seche Vite and then caved on SH Opulent Cloud at CVS though… lol. I need to go on a no-buy so I can afford to finish up my Christmas shopping though, and so my wallet can recover from all the recent F&F sales!
I am trying to abstain this week…..it’s helping that I’m working so much this week!!
I bought Guerlain Meteorites in Mythic two days ago; it was 30% off and I couldn’t resist! I also got a Guerlain Aqua Allegoria in Pamplelune for my birthday.
I was good! I only got 4 NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils (Milk x2, Pots and Pans, and French Fries), Maybelline Lippie in Born with It, and a Covergirl Trio in Shimmering Sands.
NO MORE TILL WARM AND COZY!!!!

Heheh, I’ve been good. I haven’t gotten much this week! I did get a Volturi Twilight Beauty makeup gift pack that was rather disappointing. I also got Lippmann Don’t Tell Mama, Dream a Little Dream of Me and It’s Raining Men (a freebie for buying 2 bottles) Nail Lacquer. I also got Stila Kitten Smudge Pot at the same time. I’m going to be getting some MAC Baroque Boudoir tomorrow. I just hope I don’t get tempted by anything else at the mall. 😉
I was checking those out in Shoppers… they are disappointing? Which did you get? I was eyeing the lipsticks.
At Shopper’s they’re carrying the Duwop (higher end of the Twilight saga makeup) related face palettes and lipsticks. None of which I got. Colors were mostly neutrals and easily dupe-able. Or in the case of the super chunky glitter lip gloss, was an epic fail. The venom is ok, but it doesn’t swatch well at all. On the lips it’s like a lip stain.
At London Drugs they carry Volturi Twilight Beauty (lower end of Twilight saga makeup). I got 5 of the loose mineral eye shadows and a lip gloss. The eye shadows were surprisingly pretty good if you don’t mind cleaning up fall out. Initially I got 4 but went back to get another. The Obsess lip gloss was another epic fail. It was so sheer when it was hot pink in the pan! The gift pack is meh. Some good, some bad, not worth $35 CAD though!
Well, my bf just picked up PS3 tonight… but as for me… Hmmm… have I actually picked up nothing since last Friday???? Wow. I’m shocked. Should really save up for Warm + Cozy anyways.
I tried to order some Zoya nail polish (and get the six free green ones) but they don’t ship to Canada … so sad. They even had a polish called Cheri and it was pretty. Damn.
I had some fun last night when I got to makeover my friend for a work event we were going to (first person I have ever done this to besides my mom). I picked out some things from my collection that I knew would be neutral and look great on her. She liked what I did so I told her to keep the items and she was so happy! She isn’t the makeup kinda of gal but looks herself but better with it on. I hope she keeps it up 🙂 It was fun to do!
Last Sunday I went with a friend to see New Moon. So, I started to read the Midnight Sun draft again… Then back to Jane Eyre after my dapple in trashy teen novels. hehe 🙂
There are people who live in small towns just on the American side of the border who run businesses receiving online shipments to their address. Usually they charge 5$ to receive your stuff, and you can pay them when you pick it up. Depending on where in Canada you live (ie. whether you’re close to an American border), this could be worth it!!
i had my birthday party and i got some makeup from my friends 🙂
i got a mac kabuki (182 is the # i think….), an urban decay set w/ some mini stuff and a XL UDPP, MAC giftcard, urban decay eyeshadow in roach, and urban decay lipstick in peroxide
and i also ordered Sigma makeup brushes…..
i got a lot of stuff this week….
Since this marks the start of the holiday season, I did a little bit of damage.
I wound up going to the CCO and got Redhead MSF, a sculpting powder duo whose name escpaes me at the moment, Shadesticks in Being-ing and Sharkskin, l/s in Show Orchid and Fix+ Rose.
There was also a fragrance outlet there which sold NYX products and I picked up one of their eyeshadow palettes. From the Lancome Company Store I got a Shu Uemura eyelash curler. They were $8 and quite the best seller!
My final stop before heading home was Macy’s where I finally picked up the Amorous Dazzleglass Creme I was lusting after.
I also placed some small orders on Zoya and Sephora websites. This was to take advantage of some promotions, getting 6 free polishes with a $20 purchase on Zoya and a Kat Von D tote at Sephora.

I am currently reading “The Kite Runner” and am enjoying it so far. Before that I read Jhumpa Lahiri’s “Unaccustomed Earth” a serious of short stories and I recommend it if you’re into stories about everyday life in the Indian-American culture.

a super cheap korres shower gel set at marshalls! Im really into mixing purple and green for eyes right now. keep the purple to deep, matte colors and mix in a bit of shimmery green. seems crazy but looks amazing
I just got MAC e/s in Star Violet and Fig 1. I don’t plan on purchasing anything else until MAC’s Warm and Cozy Collection!
My very minimal haul is from CVS. I wanted to purchase Absolue moisturizer and night cream from Lancome. I received a sample when I purchased a Lancome lip gloss and I absolutely loved it. However, I believe the one I had was discontinued and they have another one but the moisturizer alone is $120. Not at all in my budget. Since I have been using Loreal Eye Defense and I like it, I decided to try a Loreal product. I bought Loreal Skin Genesis moisturizer. I hope I like this. I am forever on the hunt for a good moisturizer. I was using Aveeno with SPF 30 but that is too greasy.
I also bought Essence of Beauty Duo Crease Brush and Smokey Wide Eye brush. I didn’t realize the Smokey brush had a smudger on the tip. Not sure if I will keep or return.
I also bought Milian Infinite Eye Liquid Liner.
I am going to MAC tomorrow for Treasured and Lap of Luxury (Baroque Boudior) to see if it is worth the money and Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. Again, I am just going to check it out. I want to not like it so that I won’t spend my money.

I was pretty good this week actually, I got burberry brit sheer fragrant at my trusty TJMAXX, and I also got NARS blush and lip gloss set from last year collections which is deep throat blush and strip tease gloss for $29.99 !!!! what a steal…
