Hauls/Rediscoveries: I recently have rediscovered and have been loving my L’Oréal Fresh Wear 24 hour foundation. If I put it on with a brush and then dab over it with my BB, it looks so good. Well, at first it’s a little makeupy but one hour later and for the rest of the day it’s perfection.
Weekend plans: prepping for the big T-day! (Shopping) And meanwhile I’m serving Thanksgiving dinner to 30 college students at my house on Sunday. 💪
What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most? Scarves, I’ll say. Or maybe a beach towel because that means I’m somewhere interesting.😄

Haul: Nothing new! Just buying Christmas gifts for the family.

Rediscoveries: Also nothing new here. Huh. I’ve been focusing on the eyeshadow that I have and when I get bored and want to mix it up, I use my Decide Now app; it’s been helping me stay inspired this week.

Weekend plans: Going to the Children’s Museum with my family and adulting.

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: Earrings and rings. I like bracelets too, but I work at a computer all day, and can’t stand when my bracelets clink all over the place while I’m working, lol.

Adorable Mellan!

Haul: ColourPop Going Coconuts eyeshadow palette. I know I was trying to resist, but thanks to TropicalCowgirl’s post, I was able to save $5 with the code COLOURPOPPIN. Fast regular shipping, for a change, too. I ordered it Sunday and received it yesterday!

Weekend plans: Planning and grocery shopping for Thanksgiving.

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most? Sterling silver Celtic knotwork rings and necklaces.

Such a good, patient boy you are, Mr. Mellan! 😊

Haul/Rediscoveries: I hauled NOTHING this week, thank goodness! But I DID rediscover Fenty Galaxy Palette this past week! All due to to Meteor Crush being named as a dupe for PMG VR Rose Venus. So, of course I had to give it a whirl in a very pinky berry eye look I did yesterday. These work so well over the more grippy base that Nyx Proof It! Waterproofing Primer provides!

Weekend plans: The usual schtick. Hair, nails, meeting. Plus a veritable MOUNTAIN of laundry. That part I’m most decidedly not looking forward to, as I have to take the 68 bus to a good coinless laundromat. Our buildings washer is lousy at getting clothes really clean, so yeah, I’m stuck doing this.

What kinds of accessories do you enjoy wearing most? Has to be earrings! Especially all sorts of medium to large hoops. Usually silver. Also, various dangle earrings with dark or black stones and gunmetal or black metal.

The one good thing about going to a laundromat is that you can use a couple of machines at the same time instead of waiting for one load to finish before doing another. When my son and I were travelling, we found using a laundromat the easiest to do. Although lugging everything onto a bus is not fun at all.

So very true, Genevieve! It’s way quicker doing it this way, actually. I was very fortunate to have gotten a ride back and forth from a friend of mine, so no bus this time around, thank goodness!

Haul/Rediscoveries: I managed to order the Pat McGrath Ritualistic Rose Blitz Astral Eyeshadow Quad and Elson Lipstick with the rhinestone heart on it the first day of her 25% off sale! I wanted Elson for years as it’s my family name so the extra packaging is an added bonus.
I’m still stalking for the Pat McGrath Divine Rose Mothership Palette. 😉

Weekend plans: I was really sick last week so this week I’m doing some Christmas shopping and ornament/decor purging. lol

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: scarves…. I wish my skin would let me wear earing. Rings I have to take off for work so I just never wear them anymore. 😛

Haul/Rediscoveries: my husband arrived on Tuesday with part of my Sephora VIB sale haul. PMG Ritualistic Rose quad (huge disappointment although I love the colours, way too much fallout no matter how i apply it, will return), PMG Sublime mini palette (love it except Gold Nectar which again has way too much fallout), Bite beauty Dallas lipstick (bold and lovely!), eyebrow brush, Sephora T-Rex eyeliner (beautiful!), MUFE empty palettes for depotting and carrying in my purse and Lancôme cils booster XL (have only used it today, so far so good).
The rest of my VIB sale haul I got today from a work colleague and I haven’t been able to use it yet!

Weekend plans: watching the Ice Skating Grand Prix event taking place in Japan (not live, would have to wake up to early!), barre workout Saturday morning, probably a movie at the cinema, and laundry on Sunday.

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: earrings, rings and necklaces on the jewellery side. And colourful scarves! I probably have between 30-40 if you put together the thick warm winter ones and the ones that protect me from crazy AC temperatures in the summer.

Haul: I didn’t buy/order anything new this week, but I had some previous orders arrive. I won’t be buying anything major for a while, as I’m having to downsize my stash.

*Ulta (20% from a few weeks ago) — ColourPop Bird of Paradise and Love Bird Palettes; Makeup Revolution Cherry Truffle Makeup Fixing Spray, Conceal & Correct Color Correcting Concealer in Green, and SFX White Base Matte Powder; Physician’s Formula Butter Highlighter in Iridescence and Eye Booster Lash 2-in-1 Boosting Eyeliner & Serum; and Beauty Blender Blender Defender.

*ColourPop — Going Coconuts and Baby Got Peach palettes, Pressed Pigment in Good Manners, and Glitterally Obsessed Mini Trio in Smoke and Mirrors.

*Glambot (sale) — NIB Anastasia Blush Trios in Pink Passion and Peachy Love; NIB UD On the Run Mini Palette in Bailout.

Weekend plans: 1) Finish moving my son out of his apartment, and finish switching bedrooms around at my place. I was sick this week (I’m trying to keep my annual low-grade ear infection at bay), and my husband had to work 12 hour days all week, so we’re way behind. 2) Shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. 3) If there’s time left over, have a nervous breakdown.

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: Earrings! I have multiple holes in each ear, and a huge earring collection. Rings and funky hair clips/barrettes are also much loved.

I too have many ear piercings (23) and many earrings as well. My father wouldn’t let me get my ears pierced, on my 18th birthday my sister gave me $5 to get my ears pierced, that was the beginning lol! As for the nervous breakdown, I feel for you! Hang in!

My mom wouldn’t allow me to get my ears pierced till I was 16, and then just one hole in each lobe. I had to wait till I was 18 to get more, as well.

Thanks for the encouragement. I’m trying to keep it together! LOL

Best wishes Rachel, it’s a tough gig you have going there and I have been there myself. Your Going Coconuts and Peach palettes will lift your spirits. Have a good, good rest after Thanksgiving…

Haul/Rediscovery: Nothing this week.

Weekend plans: Tonight we’re going to a little coffee shop concert. Tomorrow I have a massage scheduled and we might go to a food fair if the weather isn’t too awful. I probably have a meeting with my side hustle social media client. Also gotta practice for my dance class’s annual winter performance.

Accessory I enjoy wearing the most: I’ve really been into earrings this past year, but I’m also a big fan of scarves and rings. And since I have long hair, I like hairsticks and fancy flower and/or feather clips to dress my hair up. I also have a lot of necklaces and bracelets. What I’m saying is I really like to accessorize, OK?

Haul: Nothing this week that I can remember!!

Weekend plans: Really nothing except getting ready for Thanksgiving. I feel like Thanksgiving crept up me even though it is falling later in the month. I feel like realizing it was later in the month lulled me into thinking I had plenty of time and now I am behind. Every year I do a pretty Advent Calendar for my daughter and this year I decided to redo the actual “boxes” as most of what I have to put into the calendar is larger than the 1.5 inch boxes I have used in the past. So, in order to be done and ready for December 1st. I need to get busy!

Accessories: I pretty much only wear earrings on the daily. I have a lot of jewelry but rarely wear it these days. I do have a bit of an allergy to some metals and so if I am going to be wearing anything longer than for about 2-3 hours, I have to have a better quality of metal/gold/silver. Once I get the little rash and it forms pustules and then I can’t get rid of it for a few days. I use to coat less expensive jewelry with clear nail polish but I don’t bother these days.

Haul/Rediscoveries: Mufe artist color pencils in anywhere caffeine, versatile chestnut and endless cacao. Endless cacao was almost an impulse buy, but it may be my favorite out of all them. I received the Lisa Eldridge new velvet lipsticks, they’re beautiful. All of them carries such a unique character. GHD classic wave wand, I cannot wait to use it! I have been wanting a curling wand and I’m happy that I held out on it and got this one. skindinavia bridal setting spray, so far so good! I apply a minimal amount on a damp beauty blender.
Rediscoveries, Armani Luminous Silk foundation, it’s a great foundation and it wears well. Especially with my current breakouts.

Weekend plans: finish my project and quiz and hopefully have some time to just relax and play with my makeup and hair tool!

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: All of my jewelries especially the ones from my grandma, I just love the craftsmanship that is put in handmade jewelry. It’s just beautiful and so detailed.

My grandma is 84 and they’re mostly heirloom, wearing them just makes me so happy. Coming from a small foreign town, its just a sad thing that our family have had a lot of heirloom jewelry stolen throughout the years.

Weekend Plans: I am finally going to Friday night dance class after not going for 2 or 3 weeks. Saturday I have to work. Sunday is my nephew’s 3rd birthday. We will have a full on party for him the Saturday after Thanksgiving b/c my dad (his grandpa) will be in town for the holiday, but I’m sure we’ll have a small celebration for him.

What kind of accessory do you enjoy wearing most: I guess my glasses, but they’re definitely for function and not fashion. I’m not huge on accessories in my everyday life. Now that my hair is short, I do enjoy a necklace now since my hair no longer gets caught and snagged on the chain.

Mellon looks like the perfect Harry Potter dog…so cute and scholarly looking.
Haul: For my birthday I received the long awaited Pixi Beauty Reflex palette – it contains all the gold and bronze shades I have been after. So far, so good. Plus, my back up palette of Lorac Pro Metals. I have been using the old palette up.
Rediscoveries: Used the other shades of Dior’s Bonne Etoile that I have tended not to use in the past – the centre gold/brown and the olive shade. Such as stunning and versatile quad.

Weekend Plans: Cleaning, laundry, working in the garden, cutting back some rose bushes and generally tidying up our courtyard.
Sunday – cooking and preparing food as my sister and brother in law are coming for lunch on Tuesday.

Accessories: the main accessory I use are necklaces and scarves (in winter). I am not really a jewelry person and don’t even have my ears pierced.

I did, thanks Brenda. I was going to meet up with my twin sister on the day, but she wasn’t feeling well (her diverticulitis plays up every now and again), so we are catching up this Tuesday for lunch – which I am cooking. I am doing this because I know the kinds of foods that are healthy for my sister and she won’t be tempted to eat anything (especially dairy/cheesy) things that will affect her tummy.
On Wednesday night my family took me out for dinner and the place we went to had a great playroom for the kids and terrific food. So all went well. My family got me some makeup, perfume and CD’s – just what I wanted.

Aww, that sounds so nice! Believe me I know about dairy I have to stay away from it too! Lots of family can’t have gluten so we have to keep that out of our family meals as well, makes for interesting dishes!

Haul/Rediscoveries: I broke down and bought the AMIKA Straightening Brush, which I absolutely loved after having a rep of theirs do my hair last weekend. Their holiday kit was a great deal, so that came home with me. I also received Velvet Fawn in the mail, which I’m ambivalent about because it’s a tad too peachy for my normal look, and then Velvet Decade will be here any day now.

Weekend plans: I have to work tomorrow, then I’m going to do some writing for a competition tomorrow night. Sunday I’m going to help a dear friend with her final project for a class and maybe get some coffee. Also …. exercise. We’ll see if I get to that though.

What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: I have two rings that I love alternating between, but now that I’m back working with my hands I rarely get to wear them. I get the most wear out of necklaces if I remember to wear them.

That pic cheered me up Mellan, thank you!

Haul/Rediscoveries: I purchased PMG Chromeluxe Hi-Lite Cream in the Blue and Pink, PMG Blitz Astral Quad Ritualistic Rose, PMG Lip Fetish Lip Balm Astral Blue Star and the Haus Laboratories Rockstar set. I haven’t felt like playing with makeup since my Mom passed so I haven’t opened anything yet.
Weekend plans: I just got home from Vegas and it’s chinooking so I have a migraine and that is putting a crimp in my plans. My house is a disaster, I haven’t been home for almost 3 months. I was taking care of my Mother and my husband was home alone. He works 6 days a week and did laundry and dishes but not much else.
What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: I love jewellery but rings are definitely on the top of the list I have almost 400 of them..

I hope your mum is feeling stronger and better Brenda and it was wonderful of you to stay with her for so long. I do so absolutely get you about your house – when I was away travelling with my son, my husband was home alone and the place was a disaster area when I returned. It took me a good hour to clean the cook top alone. Cobwebs, the second bathroom ignored, finger marks from the grandchildren on every possible surface.
Let alone the vacuuming, dusting etc. So after three months for you, I can imagine.
Your husband must of missed you too and felt quite lonely.
You must be pretty exhausted yourself, so just take it one day at a time. Take care.

Thank you Genevieve, unfortunately my Mom passed. But she’s out of pain and she went quickly so we were happy for that, and we all had time to spend with her, but we do miss her a lot! I have lots to do so it will keep me busy!

Haul/Rediscoveries: Ordered some of the interesting blue & green Sephora Collection Lip Creams this week, as I’ve been reminded that I actually really like that kind of formula. Looking forward to trying them out when they arrive 😀
Weekend plans: Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep
What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: Pendants and sometimes rings. I recently got my earlobes pierced, though, so it’ll be interesting to think about my options once they’ve healed enough to change the jewellery in there!

Mellan looks so distinguished with his glasses!

Haul/Rediscoveries: My Chanel holiday eyeshadow palette and my Dior gold liquid eyeshadow/liner arrived Monday. I also ordered a Fairmont pillow and a Le Creuset salt and pepper mill set during last week’s Bay VIP/President’s offer (extra 25% off the last price plus 5% eBates). The pillow arrived today and the salt and pepper mill set is scheduled to arrive Monday.

Sephora sent an email offer to spend $50 between now and Dec. 2 to get a 20% discount between December 18-24.

Weekend Plans: My cousin’s daughter’s birthday party was cancelled. My elderly aunt is not doing so well and is in hospital. So it is just doing usual errands and seeing if I am up to visiting my aunt. I have been a bit under the weather this week and don’t want to spread anything.

Accessories: Mainly earrings. I like the hoop type ones. Watches with nickel in the back give me allergies and batteries die in no time. Occasionally a necklace but that’s about it. I do consider shoes as sort of an accessory.

Christine, I hope you are feeling so much better after dealing with the awful stomach flu!

Haul: Reporting for two weeks –

Sephora (20% off + $20 RetailMeNot rebate): Marc Jacobs The Face III Buffing Foundation Brush and Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Suspicion. Also (Sephora 20% off), Charlotte Tilbury Holiday Filmstar Bronze and Glow with Mini Powder and Sculpt Brush and Laneige Lip Mask purchased as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law.

The Bay (10% off): Chanel Metal Peach highlighter, Chanel Lumiere et Opulence eyeshadow quad, and Guerlain Merry Red Lipstick Case.

Shoppers Beauty Boutique (20% off): Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Liquid Matte Lip Colour in 202 Metallic Beige and 206 Metallic Copper, and Rouge Coco Gloss 826 Rouge Grenat.

Lisa Eldridge: Velvet Fawn, Beauty (2), Muse, Myth, Midnight, and Jazz.

Weekend Plans: Ending a week-long trip to Winnipeg to do Christmas shopping with my mom. We’ve had fun, accomplished a lot, and the temperature has been almost Spring-like, but we’re tired. I’ll be very thankful, though, when we’re back for Christmas and I won’t have to run around when it’s frigid outside. Flying back on Sunday but my home football team is playing in the Canadian Football League finals and I land just as it starts. Fingers crossed we can get the game. (I should have rebooked my flight when the team advanced last week.)

What accessories do you enjoy wearing? Earrings and a watch.

Hauls: Chanel Lumiere et Opulence Quad

Rediscovered: my love of powder foundations like Bare Minerals or BB Cream like Missha BB Cream. I love the convenience of these products and they work on my oily skin!

Weekend plans: Not much except getting a few things ready for my very short work week!

Accessories: Probably necklace. I cannot wear earrings bc my ears are too sensitive and rings drive me nuts!

Haul/Rediscoveries: No haul this week. This isn’t really a new discovery, but I find it funny and want to share it. When I’m at work I have to wear at least foundation and lipstick or else I walk by a dark-eyed actor-examples include Adam Driver, Johnny Depp, Keanu Reeves, Jeff Goldblum, etc.-on a displayed DVD and his gaze makes me feel naked.
Weekend plans: Ran errands yesterday, worked all day today and am typing this in front of the weekly SVU marathon. My aunt’s a huge SpongeBob SquarePants fan, so tomorrow my mom, aunt, cousin, and I are going to see The SpongeBob Musical at our local theater.
What kind of accessories do you enjoy wearing the most?: I don’t really wear accessories very often, but the ones I do wear tend to be necklaces and/or quiet bracelets.
