  • Weekend plans: My family just left from their visit, so we’re going to be tidying up, restocking the fridge, and then I’m catching up on emails!
  • What’s your favorite iced drink?: I’d say pina colada (non-alcoholic), which has lots of finely crushed ice, so that counts, right?!

Mellan saying “no” has me cracking up! ?

Haul: Bite French Roast Lipgloss and MAC Prep & Prime lips. Received last week’s haulage Monday. I really love the Becca X Chrissy Teigen Beach Nectar gloss! Enjoying the Chrissy Teigen cheek palette, too.

Weekend plans : I’m in Tucson for the Convention that I was only able to attend that one Friday. Staying at the Doubletree down here. HARD bed! Yikes! Oh, and I forgot to pack my makeup mirror, of all things. The HORROR.

Favorite iced drink: A Pina Colada with the rum included, lol! Or a big iced mocha latte from Dunkin’ Donuts.

Deborah S. Avatar

No mirror!!! I would literal have to go buy one immediately. The woes of being a bifocal glasses wearer and not able to apply any makeup without a magnifying mirror. That is like my worst nightmare. My daughter borrowed mine one time when we were traveling and then left it in the hotel room by mistake. We were not going back that direction and it wasn’t anything expensive so I didn’t bother with having them mail it to me but we had to go mirror shopping immediately!! Enjoy your convention, Nancy. You deserve a break.

Haul: This list is massive but it’s like a month and a half of purchases coming in.

From ColourPop:
No Filter Natural Matte Foundation in Fair 05 & Fair 15.
No Filter Concealer in Fair 00, Fair 02 & Fair.
No Filter Loose Setting Powder in Translucent
Medium Foundation Brush

From Coloured Raine: (just came in!)
Foxy Lady, Charmed, and Whipped lipsticks.
24Seven, Fame, Speechless, Frances, and Galaxy liquid lipsticks.
Queen of Hearts and Cheers To The Beauty palettes.
Unfortunately, Charmed wasn’t packed properly and left to rattle in the box and was broken at the base and smashed in the tube. And the Cheers To The Beauty palette also had shattered eyeshadows in it as well despite being wrapped once in bubble pack. They are taking care of it though. 😉

From Fenty:
Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set
Two Lil Mattemoiselles
FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Spanked (bought this before the set above… lol)
Fenty Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner trial size.

From Sephora:
Becca Velvet Blurring Primer – Perfecting Base 0.2 Oz/ 6 ml
Urban Decay Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette
TOM FORD Lip Color trial size in True Coral – 0.03 oz/ 1 g

From Illamasqua:
Skin Base Foundation in 4.5
Beyond Powder in Deity
Illamasqua Mini Masquara Raven
The Skin Base Foundation in 4.5 didn’t ship with the rest of the items so I’m waiting with baited breath as this is one of my favourite formula and I hope this shade doesn’t turn peach when I add white to it. (03 looks orange on me in photos… 🙁 but I loved how it looked in person. )

From Beautylish:
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost Princess Cut
Jouer Cosmetics Essential High Coverage Crème Foundation is Buff. I hope this shade is yellow enough for me as all the pale shades run very pink or peach-neutral from the samples I got.

From gc2b: (cosplay purposes so that chest size doesn’t detract from male cosplays 😉 )
Black Tank Binder & Black Half Binder in 3XL. It fits perfectly so I’m not crying while trying to put these on. lol

Weekend plans: We are doing my Grandma’s Memorium on Sunday as she was cremated and didn’t want a traditional funeral. Might have to work overnight as well today (to cover a night shift person as well)…. we will see.

What’s your favorite iced drink?: Forsen Hot chocolate from Second Cup. Slush bubble tea in Banana/chocolate, Honey Dew/Mellon, Mango, or Taro are my top flavours.

WARPAINTandUnicorns Avatar

*Haul: Also forgot the Essence Cosmetics 16 Pan Eyeshadow Palettes in 20 Spice Up Your Life and 30 Fairy Wings & Magical Things; Eye & Face Palette in 04 Holo Wow!; Pure NUDE Highlighter in 20 Be My Spacelight.

Probably one the most fun pop up displays in terms of products I’ve seen in the drugstore for in a while now and it’s all good! 20 Spice Up Your Life is everything I’ve wanted in a warm palette as well.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Do you like Deity?? I had looked at getting it. And UGH – I hope your foundation shows up. They did that to be with a blush I ordered. After waiting an additional month and a half without them shipping it (and yes it was in stock) I asked if I could just cancel. Glad CR is taking care of your items that arrived damaged!

WARPAINTandUnicorns Avatar

Yeah they keep sending me reminder notice that they are waiting for the batch to show up…. It kept selling out in the shade 4.5 over the past 2 years so I’m waiting this time as I’ve been waiting over a year to order it while in stock, And they still listed as in stock this time to on the website. lol

Coloured Raine said they will ship a replacement for the items and I’m really thankful they are doing it because shipping them back would be expensive… But I’ll have to wait till next week to get any more news or shipping confirmation on that. I knew the palette was prone to shattering with the shimmer formulas but the lipstick surprised me.

Haul: Stila Glitter and Glow in Retro Rose Gold (my only Amazon Prime day purchase!) and the Norvina palette! So excited to dip into both of these this weekend.

Weekend plans: My husband is working all weekend so I’ll be taking some much needed Me Time!

What’s your favorite iced drink?: Flavored Iced Coffee! Cannot get enough of it! 🙂

Seraphine Avatar

I love how Mellan adorably speaks his mind. 🙂

Hi. My name is Seraphine and I’m a compulsive makeup shopper. Four lipsticks in one week (I already have a nearly triple digit collection). I need help.

MAC Haul: Two Lustre Lipsticks in See Sheer and Lustering, plus Blot Powder and Mixing Medium Eyeliner. Freebies with order included mini versions of Strobe Cream and Prep + Prime Natural Radiance in Pink and Yellow.

Walgreens Haul: Wet n Wild Megaglo Highlighter in Blossom Glow and L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipsticks in Varnished Rose and Glassy Garnet

Weekend Plans: Visiting family, meeting up with friends, chores, etc.

What Is Your Favorite Iced Drink? I don’t like drinks with ice in them, but my favorite cold drink of the moment is Sparkling Ice in the flavor Ginger Lime.

Tammy Avatar

Hello, Seraphine, I am also a compulsive makeup shopper and have been known to haul 3-4 lipsticks every month for months at a time. Now when I see one I like I have to go check to see if I already own it, lol.

But to be honest, that was me in 2016 and 2017. I have cut way back this year for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is to enjoy my collection more.

No judgment here?

Seraphine Avatar

Even though I have a zillion lipsticks, I know every shade name and never have to look them up. I can easily spot all the ones I own in a dupe list without having to think about it. And yet I can’t remember where I put my keys down five minutes ago!

Anastasia Beverly Hills: Norvina Palette

Neiman Marcus: Hourglass Cosmetics Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow (Smoke)

Urban Decay ($20 off): Lo-Fi Lip Mousse (Wavelength)

What’s your favorite iced drink?: Iced coffee

Mags Avatar

Haul: The Norvina palette! It is just as lovely in person as it is in photos. I can’t wait to play with it.

Weekend plans: Cleaning, Costco and going to see Sorry to Bother You. I’ve heard great things about it.

What’s your favorite iced drink?: fountain Cherry Coke is my all time favorite, especially from the movie theater; an Old Fashioned is my favorite boozy cocktail on ice.

Jessica Avatar

Haul: Ace Beaute Paradise Fallen & Classical Paradise palattes, Milk Kush mascara and Kush brow gel, Too Faced Born This Way concealer and Born This Way powder, and I exchanged my CoverFX Power Play foundation for the proper shade.

Weekend Plans: Babysitting and working

Jessica Avatar

I am still waiting for them to arrive. But I’ve heard good things about them. I’m really hoping b/c this is the purplest palette that I’ve seen in a long time.

Joyce Avatar

Haul: Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette for a friend, LA Girl Eternalize quad, SheaMoisture Coconut Oil face lotion, EcoTools Precision blush brush

Weekend plans: A friend’s son’s birthday party tomorrow, church on Sunday, maybe hang with some friends 🙂

What’s your favorite iced drink?: probably coffee or strawberry banana smoothie

Haul: I haven’t received anything yet but I did place an Ulta, Sephora and Beautylish order. I needed to pick up a few staples and a few things for my daughter.

Ulta: Catrice Prime and Fine Glowy Mist, Physicians Formula Shimmer Brick in Natural and Warm, Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liquid Liner in Black and Brown and Becca Anti-fatigue Under Eye Primer (never tried this and have been curious so picked it up.)

Sephora: Grande Cosmetics Grande Mascara in black (suppose to help with lash growth), Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille in the travel size atomizer for Europe, Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA and BHA Resurfacing Mask (recommended by Karima McKimmie on YT for acneic skin so got it for my daughter to try), Ciate Glow To Illuminate Blush in the shade In To Deep (the only one I don’t already own and wish Ciate would release more shades), Nars Orgasm Loose Powder (just curious and want to give it a try), Herbivore Rose Quartz Illuminating Body Oil, Guerlain Lingerie de Peau BB cream in Light and a point perk, Versace Bright Crystal Perfume.

Weekend Plans: The month of August is crazy for me so trying to prep some things and make the last of our Europe travel plans. I haven’t purchased return home flight because I wanted to make sure I was done with seeing what I wanted to so that has too happen pretty soon. I have repairs going on the outside of my house and then they will move to the inside but not sure they are going to be done before I leave so work will halt while I am gone. I have a family reunion for the second week in August, we have two concerts to attend in August and the 1st of August is my daughter’s birthday so a friend of hers is flying up from California and we are taking her to brunch at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane the weekend before my daughter’s birthday and then going to Glacier National Park as her friend has never been. So, I have to do a thorough housecleaning, figure out a sleeping plan and get some baking done. I have what amounts to a 5 bedroom house and their is only my daughter and I here but due to repairs there isn’t a free bedroom for her friend so we are trying to figure out sleeping arrangements. My daughter has been sleeping downstairs in the guest room because her room above the garage gets way too hot in summer and we haven’t been able to find anyone who feels comfortable removing a big picture window up there and putting in a working window so that we an use an air conditioning unit. The actual spare bedroom is full of furniture taken from the two rooms that are being remodeled. So, right now it looks like my daughter will be sleeping on an air mattress in my room which is big enough for an air mattress. She is young and can handle it, LOL!

Favorite iced drink: I am really an iced drink lover so I have quite a few favorites. I love tea so of course, iced tea is a favorite. I also love anything water melon so make watermelon drinks in the summer by using watermelon that is a little past it’s prime or was a little mealy too begin with and I add spring water and let it diffuse and then strain off and serve with ice. I also love a good Blood Orange Mojito which is kind of the signature drink at The Cheesecake Factory in Sacramento, CA. I wish I could make it at home but don’t get blood oranges up here in Montana.

Tammy Avatar

You know I love Guerlain’s BB, I sing praises every chance I get. That being said, please be prepared, it is not a full coverage foundation. It will not give you a fully made up look. It works really well for those (like me) who prefer a natural, no-foundation look. It is luminous and lovely, a little ethereal, especially when mixed with a couple drops of face oil and set with a powder like Guerlain Meteorites or Hourglass Powders, or no powder at all. I put myself, my daughter-in-law and my daughter in it for my daughter’s wedding, and chose to use no powder to give the most natural, luminous look possible.

It looks exceptionally lovely on top of glowy skin serums. My favorite base is one pump of Drunk Elephant C serum, one pump of B Hydra, and three drops of DE Marula oil, mixed together and placed on face. I allow this to soak in for about five minutes, put Guerlain BB on with my fingertips, and tap out with damp beauty blender.

Deborah S. Avatar

Thank you for the advice on use, Tammy. I assumed it wouldn’t be a lot of coverage and if I spot conceal my hyperpigmentation I can usually get away with a BB cream. I have used Boscia’s Light BB and Dr. Jart’s BB cream and can make them both work but was tempted to try this by your use at the wedding. I am always up for a good BB cream/foundation! I am going to take a BB cream with me to Europe along with 1 foundation so still trying to decide what to take.

Rachel R. Avatar

LOL Mellan really did not want to go to bed! 🙂

Haul:

*Macy’s — NARS Full Vinyl Lip Lacquers in Everglades, Abruzzo, and Cape Town; deluxe fragrance samples.

*Igneous Cosmetics (etsy) — Deep Blue Palette; swatch stencils

Weekend plans: Grocery shopping and cleaning. Finish writing an article.

What’s your favorite iced drink? Iced tea

Haul: just a lipstick – Clarins Rouge Brillant in Hot Fuchsia, which is very close to Givenchy’s Fuchsia in the Know (not available locally so I’m going to have to order another one) and another bottle of Laura Biagiotti Roma.

Weekend plans: my sis in law and I are taking my mother in law (age 93!) to do some shopping (my husband and I got her some gift certificates so she can choose what she likes; now it falls to me and sis in law to get her out to choose some clothes). At her age and with her health issues (congestive heart failure, shortness of breath, swollen legs/fluid retention and plain old anno domini) she can’t really do too much. If she’s up to it, we’ll take her out for lunch afterward. So that’s about it, really. I’d like to get to the gym at some point and maybe have a bbq tomorrow night.

Favourite iced drink: Citron presse (French lemonade in a sugar rimmed glass; I don’t know if it’s the lemons, the water, the ambiance or what but no other lemonade tastes quite like it); I also like sangria (red or white), Starbucks Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino and plain old ice water (the only time I like ice in water is in summer)

Haul – Bought a new car ! I happened to see my dream car parked near the street across a road I never go down . I turned around at the next intersection and that was that . It was meant to be.

Weekend – resting and reading as I recover from a nasty cold. Husband has a bridge tournament out of state so it’ll be quiet.

Ice – I honestly don’t remember the last time I had a beverage that had ice in it .

CeeBee Avatar

Haul: Maybelline Dream Satin liquid foundation, NYX Born to Glow highlighter palette, Estee Lauder Color Love lipstick in Cosmic (possibly Comet) Love and a Nivea Care & Colour Red lip balm stick.

Weekend plans: Mexican night with friends, I’m making queso and beef & black bean burritos and we’e going to drink homemade margaritas. On Sunday, we’re going out to see my brother in law and his boyfriend for lunch, and maybe walk around the lake on their property if it’s not raining.

Fave iced drink: I’m loving Malfy blood orange gin over ice with lime and mango juice, topped up with tonic at the moment.

Lesley Avatar

Haul: I restocked Matryxil 3000, Synthe 6, and Co-Q 10 serums from Timeless during their half off if you spend $75 sale. These serums are good for two years so it’s worth the outlay.

Week-end plans: out of town friends visiting so some girl time.

Favorite iced drink: iced coffee

Genevieve Avatar

Mellon looks like he’s ready for a walk!
Haul – nothing this week

Weekend plans: a big date with the housework! On Tuesday of this week, Olivia (our 4 year old granddaughter) fell off her bike and badly fractured her elbow. So after X rays etc it was deemed that she needed surgery to put in screws and pins to ensure that the fracture healed correctly, otherwise she would have limited movement of her arm in later life. The surgery went well and she was fine – she was in the newly rennovated paedatric ward with lots of toys and company with fellow patients.
Meanwhile, we had Lachlan, the two year old, for 4 days – it is Saturday morning here. He is a lovely, placid little boy – but he does wake up at 6 am (I am really awake Nona – when urged to go back to sleep) and our house was transformed with the Duplo train set happening in our Rumpus room and the Brio train set in our family room….. But being a two year old means that he likes you to play with him most of the time and he likes to know where you are too. My husband had a lot of fun too playing with the train sets as well.
Olivia is out of hospital now with a cast that has to be kept dry for the next 4-6 weeks. The challenge will be when washing her long hair. I suggested that they go to a hairdresser to get it washed at the basin and cut so that it will be easier to manage, which they are doing.
So my weekend plans consist of lots of cleaning and making up some soup and casseroles for them to use during the week.

It’s lovely to hear Christine that your family visited you and that you had a great time catching up. Don’t stress about the emails etc. Take your time.

Favourite cold drink: Iced coffee!

Lindsay_MK Avatar

Genevieve, my little boy had a cast on his wrist this spring and he was allowed to get it wet- including in the swimming pool! I was surprised but the doctor told us he himself had just had a cast, too, and swam with it. We are in the US and maybe we have a super-special advanced cast material that isn’t available down under! Glad your family has your help and support.

Genevieve Avatar

Thank you Lindsay – it’s interesting about the cast your son had and perhaps you do have a fibre cast that is available to you in the US but not here. Olivia’s is definitely a no – wet one – which is very awkward for when she is in the bath. They are taking her to the hairdresser today as when she was in hospital, they couldn’t wash her hair and it has become a bit matted and frizzy.
We only live 10 minutes away from them, so it is easy to help out, as my daughter in laws parents live an hour and a half away. It makes such a difference if you have some family to support you in times of difficulties.

Katherine T. Avatar

Oh no, sorry to hear about Olivia’s accident! I’m glad she’s doing well. And it’s great you’re close by to help them out. Soups and casseroles are a great idea!

Lindsay_MK Avatar

Haul: Loreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick in Enamel Red. Love the color, feel, and finish but THE. SMELL – yuck. Might be a deal breaker. I am pretty particular about smells, and mostly prefer unscented, but I can tolerate lots of smells that I don’t actually LIKE – but this one is so bad. I also got the Fenty Gloss Bomb. The color and feel are fine but I was unimpressed by the cheap-feeling packaging and overwhelmed by the giant doe-foot applicator and giant tube (it’s also pretty smelly).

Weekend plans: Husband took our two little boys camping, so I have an amazing 48 hours by myself! Will sleep in, read, tidy up, maybe see a movie or two, likely do a long mountain bike ride on Sunday.

Favorite iced drink? Ugh I love this question. What DON’T I like iced?! Nothing. Love iced coffee with half-and-half or on nitro, not sweet; almost any cocktail or just some Scotch on the rocks (almost never up); iced tea with lemon; Coke Zero. Please, lots of ice too. Only thing I don’t like with ice is water – I prefer that room temp.

WildDove Avatar

Haul:
– Becca Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold,
– Nars Lip Balm in Org*sm,
– Fresh Lip Balm jar in Caramel.
– Tom Ford sheer lipsticks in Sweet Heat and Nudiste.
– Dame Perfumery – rollerballs in Cactus Orchid and Monsoon.

Nikki Avatar

Haul: The only makeup I bought this week was a spare concealer to keep in my locker at work, in case my face itches and I accidentally scratch the concealer off a big zit (it’s happened before).
Weekend plans: Spent most of today at home and ran a few errands this evening. Got work all day tomorrow and a family birthday party Sunday evening.
What’s your favorite iced drink?: Lemonade, iced tea (always sweet), or an iced caramel macchiato at Starbucks-whenever possible, I prefer to keep water and pop refrigerated.

Sarah Avatar

Haul: Nothing this week

Weekend plans: Hopefully I can spend a lot of time reading some books this weekend. Might do a bit of clothes shopping too

What’s your favorite iced drink?: A good boba milk tea! Alcoholic choice would be a mojito

LindaP Avatar

Haul:
Nothing makeup wise. Replaced Biologique Recherche P50 1970 and Masque Vivant. I’m experimenting with using the mask every day for two weeks just to see what happens. So far, it’s very good. I would never, in the million years, keep up a daily mask regimen. Just something fun to try.

Weekend:
Swims, pups, getting ready for our upcoming trip to Paris.

Iced Drink: Hmmmm…. I don’t really like ice in anything! So I’ll have to go with a Margarita. 🙂

Alecto Avatar

Haul: Bite Beauty Prismatic lip creams in Rose Pearl and Peacock Pearl; CoverFX Shimmer Veil in Moonstone and Halo; some skincare items to experiment with from Amazon, like kojic acid and sulfur powder, as well as Vanicream Moisturizing cream (I’ll probably try their SPF product and RoBathol at some point)

Weekend plans: Office work, hopefully a decent amount of weeding, lot’s of laundry.

What’s your favorite iced drink?: I don’t use ice much anymore; oddly, cold drinks make me hungry, and I just drink more (especially water) when it’s room temperature, or out-of-the-tap cold. I used to love iced milk when I was a kid! It was the only thing I’d drink in the summer — no pop, lemonade, etc., just pure iced milk. 🙂
