- Haul: Pat McGrath Decadence Palette, Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipsticks x10, two more shades of Fenty Pro Filt’r.
- Weekend plans: Need to write a bunch of reviews this week! I need to try to restrain myself from photographing anything new for a few days to catch up on the writing part of this job!
- What’s your favorite cuisine?: It would be either Indian or Italian,
but if I had to pick, Indian edges Italian out just slightly for me!

Haul: I think I only got brush cleaner and a Fenty lipstick in S1ngle.
Weekend plans: I am finally having my late birthday party! And it is Disney Villain themed! Including making my friends dress as different Disney Villains. I get to be Cruella, and I am probably way more excited than any adult woman should be.
What’s your favorite cuisine?: Indian or Thai!
Enjoy your birthday party, Joan! What a cool theme 🙂
OMG your party sounds awesome! Happy belated birthday!
Happy birthday, Joan! You should post a pic of your costume, it sounds like such a great party theme!
Happy Birthday Joan – I think you and your friends will have a wonderful time – that’s a great theme.
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy late birthday! Your party sounds awesome!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, it was an awesome time. And a picture has been posted, I’m sure people with see the ridiculousness when it is approved! ?
Haul: I am waiting for my Bite Agave Lip Mask. I ordered it last Saturday, I think they lost it. Does anyone know if Sephora Rouge still gets 2 day shipping? It seems like I’ve gotten a 3 day shipping notice a couple times now and I’m rouge.
Shopping my stash: I wasn’t actually planning to go on a low-buy but for the past 6 months I have naturally been buying less overall. This has given me a chance to dip into my stash and I am enjoying many previous neglected items. My favorite items this week were Bite Beauty Boysenberry (I should be wearing this all the time!), Urban Decay’s Sancho and Manic, Tom Ford Nude Dip, Lancôme 5 Pan shadow palette in Olive Amour (LE), Hourglass Ambient Lighting in Diffised Light (again, I should be wearing this all the time!), Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Highlighter (mixed with foundation), and MAC’s loose shadow in Old Gold. I am actually wearing the Olive Amour today with the Old Gold on top, and it is just gorgeous❤️.
Weekend plans: I had my oral surgery (bone graph to repair opening in sinus) on Monday so my weekend will primarily be resting. I will go to Bergners for a few hours on Sunday to help with presale calls for Clinique. This is probably the last season my Bergners will remain open, and so my final shifts are bittersweet.
Favorite cuisine: No way I can pick just one. I love food and my three yearly trips to Chicago every year are focused on food.
I hope you feel better soon after your surgery, Tammy!
Tammy, I get 2 day shipping (which in my case is actually overnight due to the proximity of the warehouse they typically ship from.) In the rare case when Sephora has shipped from a more distant warehouse, like Dallas, the warehouse overnighted my order to me to meet the deadline. Did they not even ship your Bite?
Hope your healing quickly and painlessly – sending healing thoughts!
They shipped it but sent me a 3 day shipping notice which I found odd
Hi Tammy – I hit Rouge for the first time ever last November, and every order I’ve placed since lists shipping as “3 Day: FREE for VIB Rouge.” I thought that was off, but that maybe I had just misremembered that it was supposed to be 2-day shipping (since I am new to the program). You have me shaking me head again though! I live in NYC, so it’s not like I’m in a remote area that they need to allot an extra day for either. Strange!
… and I just checked the Benefits page of my Sephora profile and realized I needed to enroll in the 2-Day Flash Shipping program, even though it is complementary for Rouge. I just assumed I was automatically enrolled!
A lot of people I know had that issue. For them, it turned out that their Flash didn’t auto renew at the beginning of 2018. You might want to double check to be sure yours is active. 3 day is their standard shipping.
Except when it’s 3 weeks from the local hub 45-1hr away. The last one was ok. I feel sorry for the non E first L deliverers in a confusing neighborhood. Btw, love the new additions to your m/u blog, and want to get some H o Matriarch soon, thanks to your fragrance blog. I emailed them to be sure they don’t use Benzyl Salicylate; pretty sure they don’t. I don’t see why that info is not on Fragrantica. They list every note, but not the modifiers/additives, which can be the very problem. Those of you who are allergic to chem sunscreens take note. BS is a chem sunscreen, but is more commonly used in products with fragrance, as in high % of scent, haircare, etc. it can sneak in there to bother you, without you having any idea why the product is irritating or worse.
Flash doesn’t auto renew even for Rouge, you have to re-up every year but Sephora failed to send out notifications. I bitched about that to them yesterday.
Lea, mine auto-renewed and has ever year since the program started.
Hi Tammy. I’m Rouge. And I’ve been getting everything with that 3 day notice too. My Play box charged on the 2nd and I still haven’t gotten it yet. Its supposedly at a shipping hub in the lower part of my state. I’m definitely not going to continue to buy as much from them this year. They don’t seem to value loyal customers.
Chicago has so much good food! I went for the first time this past november and food was my favorite memory of my trip 😀
I’m actually going back this spring, any recommendations?
I had the deep dish pizza of course and Nando’s chicken and the donuts and gosh I could just go on and on.
Hi Tammy, so relieved to hear your oral surgery went well! Am sorry to hear about Bergners. I have a Boston Store where I am and Chanel pulled their counters from Bon Ton stores last week. All staff will be redeployed to other counters but it’s a big loss for the only luxury brand in the local marketplace. I can only imagine the loss when an entire store closes.
I hope you heal quickly. Shopping your stash sounds like so much fun.
I hope by now that your tooth and sinus issues are behind you and it all heals quickly minus any infections….
Shopping your stash is so much fun because you get to see and use all the goodies you have forgotten about. That Lancome 5 pan shadow in Olive Amour looks amazing and I don’t know how I have missed it… I have quite a few of their quints – Jade Fever (divine) and Sparkling Intoxication (gorgeous). I think this line is underrated.
It is very sad when a beloved beauty store closes down, it leaves such a hole in the marketplace there.
Take care Tammy.
Wishing you a speedy recovery from the surgery. I hope the graft will help with the pain in the long run.
Haul: Just some drugstore stuff 3 of the new shade of Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lipsticks, I own 5 of the original shades I was going to review last year so yeah this year it is. lol
The New Rimme; Lasting Finish Foundation Breathable in 001 Light Ivory (a touch to plan for me once it dries down but I CAN work with !)
Weekend plans: Buying pants for my new job. lol
So the job I applied for I didn’t get, but the owner was so impressed with my agency work they are hiring me on for half weeks to start and grow into full time if they see progress on web coding abilities. I’m definitely a junior coder coming out of schooling I did, which has been my issue finding a job now that graphic based work has been drying up and moving more digital. I’ve had freelancer offer for 2 weeks or 1 weeks of work as a designer but the last thing I need to pad my 6 years as an Art Director at my last job, and quicking my job for 1 to 2-week stents isn’t fair to my Tims boss or paying my bills.
I start on Feb 5 Mondays to Wednesdays and work a Tims from Thursday to Friday… I have my weekend back!
What’s your favourite cuisine?: Mexican, Thai, Italian, & Indian, in that order sort of I have to try more Indian dishes as the spices used in each dish are different and new. But I make my own Saag Paneer (time-consuming though to chop up spinach so I’m going to try frozen next!) as Veggy alternative as most of my meals I try to eat 50% as vegs (I don’t always get there) but I get sick of salad, stir-fries, eating them raw and steamed all the time so it gives me something else to eat from time to time and rotate through my options. 😛
Also, my Internet was down for 3 days (Rogers….)… yeah. No blogging this week either but I did make 55 of the 75 flowers I need for my cosplay. lol
I think I would disintegrate if I didn’t have internet for 3 days! You must be so glad to have it back!
Yeah, I also use it was in production mode with making the flowers. It very repetitive work so running youtube video in the background keeps my brain happy. lol
I also had the use someone else phone to check my emails about the job every day. O_o I phone them to confirm and went straight to Tim’s on my day off to put in a shift request to match. lol
Congrats and good luck with the job!
I make saag paneer all the time and I either just toss the spinach in whole (it shrinks up so much in cooking anyway) or I use the immersion blender to shred it. (My immersion blending has a little mini veggie blender attachment that’s perfect for this task.)
Congratulations on the job, I hope it quickly becomes a full time opportunity!
Congrats on the job. You’ll get there. I think the frozen works ok, as long as it’s not too iced up. I do a saag recipe (w/o paneer) that has 19 different spices. Not a misprint. Took me forever to source asafoetida! Glad your net is back, but at least you jumped ahead with the cosplay prep.
Congratulations on your new job!!
Fantastic news about your job – well done you! You must be really good as there is so much competition these day in your field of work.
Yay to the internet being back on! 3 days is a LONG time without it.
You forget how much of your life is tied up with it. I watch TV for entertainment purposes only but my main means of communication is email, news and learning (entertain news, how-tos, fun facts ) videos comes from Internet access these days. 😉
I use to play console games but gave those up for blogging basically about 4 years ago. lol
Congrats with the new job! That’s great the owner was so impressed with you that they still hired you on in some capacity.
Haul:
I got my January Sephora Play! bag last week:
-Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Base
-Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer Primer + Moisturizer in One
-Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream
-Ole Henriksen Hygge HydraClay Detox Mask
-Glamglow Supercleanse Clearing Cream-to-Foam Cleanser
-Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask (foil packet bonus)
I think I’m in the minority in that I actually like this month’s bag, even though there are no color cosmetics. Nothing has blown me away yet, but they are all things I will use (and will use up). So far I’ve tried everything but the Lancome mascara base, because it reminded me I have an old Manna Kadar lash primer kicking around that I need to finish first. I don’t normally use lash primer, but I just opened a new tube of Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (which I haven’t used in over a decade) and it could use a boost.
Weekend Plans:
Catching up on the Oscar nominees! I’ve already seen five of the nine Best Picture nominees (‘Phantom Thread’ is my favorite so far), and I’d like to catch one or two more this weekend. Of the ones I haven’t seen, ‘Call Me By Your Name’ is the one I’m most looking forward to, so I’ll probably go tomorrow. (The other three I haven’t seen, in descending order of interest, are ‘The Post,’ ‘The Shape of Water’ & ‘The Darkest Hour.’) I also want to catch the ‘Is Fashion Modern?’ exhibition at MoMA, as it closes after this weekend.
What’s Your Favorite Cuisine?
My hometown has a ton of “Greek & Lebanese” (sort of pan-Mediterranean/Middle Eastern) restaurants, so I grew up on gyros, shawarma, hummus, mujaddara, etc. For a more universally available style of cuisine, I love Thai.
The only thing I liked from my Sephora Play was the NARS Orgasm lipstick. That’s something I’ve actually been wanting to get! I usually like a lot of what they send.
Awww, who can resist those eyes?
*Haul – BITE Lip Pencils (Sephora Wow special deal) in #14, #50, #66, #68, 76, #82. Belif facial cleanser. Sephora deluxe GWP – Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel, PTR Hungarian Water Moisturizer, Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream, and FAB Coconut Water Cream
*Weekend – label, sort, put away makeup and the usual chores/cook
*Chinese!
Jealous of those Bite Beauty lip pencils. Protini is going to be my next moisturizer purchase, it has everything I look for in a moisturizer to layer over Retin A
I originally got 2 of the BITE pencils #28 and #46, loved them, and couldn’t resist picking up more when they went on sale!
Haul: Anastasia single shadows in Bone, Pink Champagne, Fawn, & Fudge; matte lipstick in Rosewood. Mario Badescu Hyaluronic eye cream, Mario Badescu Chamomile Lavender mist, Garnier Green Tea moisturizing cream, Smashbox Primerizer, Essence Satin Coral blush, Essence Browny Brows Make Me Brow
(DO NOT like the lavender spray smell. I have to exchange it for the Rose or cucumber but honestly I don’t like either of those options lol)
Weekend plans: My husband travels for work now and is only home on weekends, so we’re just hanging out together 🙂 watch Stranger Things season 2, maybe go out for pizza & some other things.
What’s your favorite cuisine?: Good old Korean food. I love Korean BBQ, street food, and classic comfort foods too. They’re all so good!
HAUL: UD Electric palette. In the past I never would have bought a palette like this because why would I need a whole palette of super brights? I’m not a rainbow gal. But I do like a bold, one-color eye. So what I had was colorful shadows strewn about in various little neutralesque palettes (those neutral palettes with one or two “pops of color” to getcha) and that seemed like a good strategy. But I hardly reached for those palettes because it was a mental strain to remember what colors were in which palette. I destashed all palettes like that and replaced them with this. It makes so much more sense to just have one companion palette with “all the colors” in it. I am actually wearing the colors now because they are so accessible. Plus this palette is amazing. So pigmented and workable. And most of the colors are quite wearable. A success in streamlining my collection, which is my long term goal for 2018 and beyond.
WEEKEND: More streamlining other “collections” in my house!
FAVORITE CUISINE: Probably Mexican/Latin/Spanish. Any combination of rice and beans is pretty much what I want for every meal.
Electric is such a great palette and I reach for Chaos all the time to line my lower lash line.
I’m a fellow rice & beans gal too, Ginny! On average, I make at least one pot per month. Usually, either the fabulously delish black bean soup w/rice that my half-Cuban ex-husband got me hooked on, or my own red beans & rice dish that is Mexican meets Puerto Rican fusion.
Spanish black beans with rice was a staple of my childhood! Still one of my favorites to go back home for. Some corn and avocado on top, yum.
Hahahahahaha did it work? Treats?

Weekend plans: Minor surgery tomorrow scheduled for roughly 2 1/2 hours away. The rest of the weekend will depend on how I feel.
What’s your favorite cuisine?: My first choice is just plain old American bc I love a good steak. After that almost anything goes. I love to change up cuisines all the time – could be Thai, French, Mexican, Indian…whatever.
He did, in fact, get treats after I finished photographing him! 😉
YAY!
I was thinking about Bun Bun but suspected it might lean more nude and less pink than I was hoping.
Good luck with surgery!
Thank you.
Best of luck with the surgery Michele – I hope it all goes well.
Thank you. It did go ok. Just a bit sore.
Haul: Anastasia Prism palette, Anastasia liquid lipstick in Sweet Lilac, MAC Sia lipstick, MAC Fix+ in the Rose scent, NYX suede lip cream in Cherry Skies, NYX lip liner in Stockholm, and NYX Doll eyes mascara
Weekend Plans: possibly putting on a yard sale tomorrow if the weather cooperates and hopefully getting a haircut (didn’t cut my hair at all in 2017 which might have been a bad thing but I also didn’t heat style it much so few split ends)
What’s your favorite cuisine?: Thai is my favorite
I am due for a cut, too, Jenny – I finally scheduled one for next week! I think I managed one trim in 2017, LOL!
I cut mine every four months. Got it cut last week, and it always feels so good to have a fresh cut!
Yes we do, Mellan!!! You’re too adorable to resist! ?
Haul: Literally, one thing, haha! Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream, because until I read of it in your must have DS/LE comment, Christine, I figured I’d give yet one more hand cream touting eczema healing a try. In just 3 days, healing IS happening! My hands are thankful! Did receive my CP order that I wrote about last FFHF on Monday in record time for CP. I think 4 or 5 days?
Weekend plans: Gotta touch-up my roots. BADLY. Plus, I’m hoping and praying that my next-door neighbor stops keeping me up at night so that I can reset my sleep/wake cycle, because I want to go to my Sunday meeting for worship *physically*. My neighbor yells, hoots, screams at night. At NO ONE.
What’s your favorite cuisine?: Hmm…I cook such a multi-ethnic slew of dishes, plus, will try various other dishes while out, this is a hard question to answer! Possibly Italian? Or Hispanic cuisine whether Mexican or Caribbean? And now that I’ve had Pho, and can taste a strong similarity to Mexican, I’ve begun to love Vietnamese cuisine now too! Already loved Philippino cuisine because of my good friend, Maila, so Southeast Asian cuisine overall! Oh, and really good Chinese food, too! Okay, so Asian/Mexican/Italian! (And then I wonder why I’m plump! LOL)
Happy to hear your hands are starting to feel better!!
Oh gosh, Christine, me too! The fissures, subsequent itching, rough texture has been terrible over the past several years. I’ve been very embarrassed when ones in my congregation or elsewhere have gone to shake my hand. So to see them healing this rapidly has me feeling hopeful! Many others I know out here have said it’s our very hard water that exacerbates eczema and other skin conditions for us living in AZ.
Sounds like your neighbor has mental health or dementia-related issues. Is there a family member you can make contact with or any other agency that could do a wellness check?
Tammy, that’s what I was thinking as well. When I told my son about it, he immediately brought it to my attention that she likely has schizophrenia. The one woman who was the love of his life had it, so he is very familiar with the symptoms and various presentations. None of us here have ever seen any family or friends stop by to look in on her. My neighbor across from me has been able to strike up a limited rapport with her, and does keep an eye on her. We are both very worried about her welfare, yet also very disturbed by her behavior. Wondering whether City of SD has any mental health ombudsman? I’m just not sure.
I must try that Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream myself as my hands can get really sore at times. The hard water certainly reeks havoc on your skin and hair. It’s great news that it is working for you.
Re your neighbour – she does sound like she has mental health issues and probably your local council would be the best place to start making enquiries, as I am sure they have a Welfare Officer or Health team. It must be really distressing for you (and her as well).
Definately give it a go, Genevieve! Seriously, nothing else I’ve tried has helped start the healing process like this has. Tried the Eucerin Eczema cream, Curel Ultra Repair, and quite a few others. I have a prescription ointment for it, and even that barely did squat! This Aveeno one DOES.
And yes, on Monday, I will call our 211 Community Helpline to see how my neighbor can be helped by some sort of MH outreach. There has to be something.
Thanks Nancy – I will definitely buy some if it is available here. And the best of luck with your neighbour.
Thank you very much for looking out for your neighbor. Hopefully she can get the help she needs instead of falling through the cracks. She sounds like she’s struggling. Thank you for caring. ?
Haul: nada, I’m on a no-buy til my birthday.
Weekend plans: have some errands to do, and I have to plan stuff for my vacaaaationnnnnnnnnn.
Fave cuisine: it’s hard to say because I’m not really a “favorites” person – I like lots of stuff and it’s difficult to say what I like more than anything else. I love Indian food a lot, I’m a vegetarian and there are so many wonderful and varied meat-free Indian dishes. Mexican food is always good. I enjoy Middle Eastern food a lot.
Good luck on your no-buy!
lol Mellan would be very fat because that look would work for me
Haul: A pocket and passport traveler’s notebook- I’m so excited it gets here on Monday. I have to shop for an art deco dress for a friend’s wedding coming up in the summertime.
Weekend plans: Going to eat at a new restaurant during restaurant week (my favorite times of year lol). I’m also cooking for my family. I’m trying to do a new recipe every single month. We will see how successful I am at the end of this year.
What’s your favorite cuisine?: It’s really hard for me to choose. I have favorite dishes like bistec a lo pobre and pho
Restaurant Week is the BEST!!
Haul: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Sheer Patina. Never tried this formula before, but was intrigued by the sheer formula, as I prefer a blotted lip look on casual days. So far, so good! The other shades didn’t interest me as well, so I think I’ll stick to this one.
I also picked up the Essence Clear Brow Gel to see if it is dupe for the ABH and a couple of eyeshadows from Darling Girl cosmetics. I am obsessed.
Weekend Plans: concert tonight and hopefully checking out The Shape of Water
Favorite cuisine?: anything really, although I’m partial to Vietnamese and Japanese
Let me know what you think of Shape of Water. We almost went to see it last week. Do you think it is the kind of movie best seen in a theater or will at home viewing be fine?
Shape of Water was AWESOME. I am biased to see movies in the theater – I would particularly recommend it for this movie so you can let yourself be more transported or absorbed by the story! The production design is really particular.
The movie was truly beautiful! I don’t think you’d be disappointed seeing it in the theater. The music was wonderfull as well.
Haul: I don’t think I bought anything this week, though I am in desperate need of some new stick lip balm of some sort
Weekend plans: gym tomorrow and shopping for a dress to wear to friends’ daughter’s “wedding” party (they’re getting married earlier and then having some sort of party which I’d thought was going to be casual but turns out to be pretty formal so….dress or outfit of some sort and I think I’ll treat myself to some new pumps as well.
Favourite food: no question, it’s Thai and then Korean followed by Indian.
I hope you find something you like for the wedding party Mariella, because shopping for a wedding is the hardest… you never seem to find what you like or in the shade or the size…..
You’re so right, Genevieve….shopping for something like that is always so difficult. I love going shopping just to look for something that strikes my fancy (today, I was in a local shop and saw a couple of sweaters/long sweater-y tunics that I really liked and which would be great for work) but finding “the dress” – that’s a going to be a whole other challenge.
Absolutely Mariella – when my best friend’s daughter was getting married last year she went into a major dept. store and asked the stylist for assistance – what she brought out was totally ridiculous for a mother of the bride – big cleavage, cut out shoulders etc on a 65+year old woman. No idea.
She eventually found a lovely navy lace dress in a boutique in the local hills.
Best of luck with your wedding shopping.
Haul: Nothing yet, I finally got my Ordinary haul
Weekend: I have been having some issues with my health but I’m not sure whats wrong. I’ll take a very slow weekend lol. I’m still pet sitting through the weekend. Need to food shop eventually. Hubby has to work on Sunday, so I’ll probably do it then!
Favorite Cuisine: All around probably French, Spanish, or Italian. Hard to say but I also love Thai and Japanese. Peruvian and Indian are also awesome. I eat a ton of Mexican food too. I really probably couldn’t decide. I’d probably go with Italian due to the variety of ingredients/flavors/influences.
I hope you feel better soon Erin or at least find out what’s wrong. You are lucky to have so many different varieties of restaurants/food places around you.
Sorry to read that you’re not well, Erin. Hope you can get to the bottom of what the problem is and that you’re feeling better soon.
Haul: two shampoos from Carol’s Daughter, an angled blush brush from It Cosmetics, 2 eye brushes from Real Techniques.
Weekend plans: yoga, and a vision board workshop.
Favorite cuisine: no surprise here, French!
Love, love love French food!
Haul: Pat McGrath Decadence palette (splurge), Sephora/House of Lashes Versailles palette (I’m so desperate for some cool tones that I bought it on sale), Makeup Revolution Loaded palettes (cheap thrill).
Weekend plans: Recover. It has been a very emotionally draining week.
Favorite cuisine: Vegetarian
I hope you feel better emotionally/mentally after some rest, Christina!
I hope you will be feeling better soon Christina. I love the Sephora It Palette in cool neutrals – just gorgeous taupe shades. Enjoy your Pat McGrath palette, it is wonderful I think.
Haul: Nothing this week!
Weekend plans: Going to a horror-themed belly dance show tomorrow night with my partner and a friend. We’ll also grab dinner and a drink beforehand. Looking forward to an excuse for some over-the-top makeup. Might finally hit that sparkly black color from the Heavy Metal palette 😀
Favorite cuisine: Mexican! Still trying to find a really good Mexican place up here in the northern suburbs of Seattle. It needs the right combination of good chips and salsa, yummy enchiladas, and tangy margaritas. Good tacos would be nice, too.
A horror-themed belly dance show?! That sounds like so much fun!
It should be! I went last year and it was a lot of fun. If you search “Horrific belly dance” on YouTube you will find some videos from the previous shows 🙂
Thanks, I’ll check it out!
Air treats to you, a long belly rub, and some ear scratches, too, my fine fellow. Replacement Cosrx and a Mizon from Amazon, along with a gas stove igniter. It only blew off in Aug or Sept. I have a gas detector, so no danger, but also no roasts! W/e:download/print more bloody tax forms and start. SSDW. Patticake ambulation stuff. Cull stuff for donation. Light the bloody stove…it takes two, as I cannot reach. Maybe get a turkey! Did anyone read that emotional support turkeys will no longer be permitted on the airlines? For REAL. Want to weigh in on THAT one, Tammy, from a MH perspective? Food: Asian (all), NE summer seafood, and rarely, complex French. Julia’s recipes are the messiest I ever encountered. Considering she dropped the gigot on the floor and kept right at it, not surprised. Didn’t even dust the little lambikin leg off. My dad was there! When the studio was at a Boston Edison, in the late 60s. I think they edited that out for tv. Well, even the filth was cleaner back then. Now, you’d get a dread disease from a floor.
Oh my goodness, KJH, you just reminded me of what I know for a fact is my favorite cuisine: our wonderful, super delicious, FRESH seafood from back east!!!! I’ve been away for so long that I guess I’m forgetting. But as I read your comment, I could literally taste broiled lobster, steamer clams w/ butter, fresh caught fish, mmmmm!
Sorry to hear about your stove! I suppose it just goes with another thing I miss terribly, a GAS stove. Out here, most are electric. Yuck.
I do want to give Mellan a few pats and treats! He’s so cute!
Haul: Pat McGraft Decadence palette, Pat McGraft Candy Flip lipstick, MAC 15% select coupon Gingerly blush, brought more Extra Dimension blushes(since they were in your best category) in Telling Glow and Hard to Get, full sized Fix + birthday gift! Last week while on sale at Sephora I brought Urban Decay Heavy Metal palette and Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism palette. Also ordered from Juvias Place the Douce palette and the Festival palette. I now have all of Juvia’s Place and Pat McGraft’s palettes, proud of my collection. But I need to stop buying and enjoy what I have.
Weekend Plans: Dinner with friends, housework and watching Netflix.
What’s your favorite cuisine: Soul food and Italian food! Delicious and fattening, lol
Hello, handsome Mellan!
Haul: Chanel Premieres Fleurs Harmony of Powders (Illuminating Powder), which is part of the Blossoming of Spring/Dernieres Neiges de Chanel release. I’m loving the look of this Spring collection, which will carry some products into the summer release. Gorgeous stuff coming up. (But my local counter is closing…)
Weekend Plans: We are having an unseasonably warm stretch of days, so will be enjoying that! Not much else planned, maybe do some paperwork and reorganize some winter clothes.
Favourite Cuisine: Asian Fushion
Hello, beautiful doggie!
Haul – nothing at all this week
Weekend plans: It’s our Australia Day long weekend and it’s going to be a scorcher – really high temps. and lots of humidity too. So I am just staying at home, watching some DVD’s and some grocery shopping.
Favourite cuisine: That’s really hard, but I think I love French, followed by Italian food the best. I do love Indian as well.
Haul: Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo, Conditioner, and Treatment deluxe sample kit freebie from Ulta; deluxe sample of It’s a 10 Potion 10 Miracle Styling Potion (how many words can they repeat lol?); Essence Make Me Brow; Essence Longlasting Eyeliner Pen in Brown; and NYX Cosmic Gel Liner in Infinite Star ($2.49!).
Weekend plans: getting my car’s oil changed and watching the X Games
What’s your favorite cuisine? This is a tough one! My absolute favorite foods are Japanese.
Haul: A mini Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 that I can take on a plane to refresh my sunscreen. Apparently those UVA rays are vicious at 30,000 feet. I also ordered some Timeless CE Ferulic serum but it has not arrived yet.
Weekend plans: We have been so fortunate to be on vacation in Hawaii and alas are spending Saturday traveling home. Sunday will be a jet lag recovery day with maybe a little grocery shopping.
Favorite cuisine: I love all Asian flavors, from South Asian to Southeast Asian to Japanese.
Also Chinese and Korean.
I am late to the haul party tonight! 72 comments already. I love it when there are a lot of responses because I can either find new products or live vicariously through others purchases. I just love Mellan’s beautiful eyes.
Haul:
Online purchases: I picked up a couple of magnetic palettes from Coloured Raine. I was going to get the 96 pan palette but decided that might be too big to haul around if I decided I needed to take it somewhere so went with two of the 28 pan palettes. I also picked up a couple of eye shadows from them to put in the palette, not that I needed any as I have a small box of pans that haven’t had a home so they will fill one and maybe part of the other palette, but I picked up the shades Chameleon, Intergalactic and Passion. I placed a ColourPop order and picked up Glass Bull, Up and Up and Crown Jewel. I ordered Dream Dots for my daughter, another Nuxe Reve de Mele cleanser. From Target I got another Pixi Milky Mist, Rogaine mousse and Olay Regenerist Serum.
Ulta: Stila Glimmer and Glow e/s in Grace and Pigale, Sheer Liquid lips in Patina and Splendour, Smashbox Photo Edit Trio in Nudie Pic Fair. The browns are pretty cool toned so thought I would give it a try. I was a little worried after Christine’s review of one of the other trios but my Nudie Pic works well. I have only used it once but so far I am loving it.
Weekend plans: Not much. We had a couple of nice days and then started snowing yesterday and still snowing today. Suppose to snow pretty much for the remainder of the week so plan on staying home and working on my ancestry scrapbook. I have been working on planning a family reunion for this coming summer and when I sent out the information I included a form to catch me up on births, deaths, marriages, etc. so want to start getting that into my family tree so that when everyone gets together in August I can give everyone a disc with their ancestry on the disc.
Favorite food: This is tough but I think I am going with Moroccan. I haven’t met a lot of food that I didn’t like but the spice profile in northern African cuisine is one I particularly enjoy.
Haul:
MAC – I made my own Patrick Starrr x 9 – so all the permanent shades and for Omigaud, I bought All That Glitters. For the 9th spot, I added in Espresso. That was an oldie but a goodie. My very first MAC look was a peachy champagney shimmer color like Lorelei or All That Glitters called Bliss (lid), then Swiss Chocolate (crease), Espresso (outer V), Mylar (brow highlight, I think). This was 22 or 23 years ago and I don’t think there was such a thing as the transition shade. Cubic for blush and lipstick was a muted lavendar purpley shade called Expose. I wore that look into the ground. I wore it the other day and loved it – the Swiss Chocolate actually looked like a berry-brown, the way I would think Embark or Handwritten would look. I bought a few backups.
Weekend plans: Visiting my parents on Sunday and cooking with my Dad.
What’s your favorite cuisine?: Probably Italian or diner fare. I love a good casserole.
I forgot about Mexican food!
Good work on creating your own x9 palette, Pearl! 🙂
Haul: a gold metallic melting pout from Cover Girl. Also a Cover Girl Katy Kat lipgloss. Loving the new drugstore finds!
Weekend plans: nothing really.
Favorite cuisine: Thai food. Mmmm
I’ve been following your blog since the MAC Venomous Villians collection. I remember making a comment at one point that Mellan is so perfect that he looks fake. Still perfect after all these years. He’s a good pup.
LOL!! Sometimes he does a really good imitation of being a perfect dog 😉
Haul: NARS Wanted Eyeshadow Palette, which I hadn’t planned on getting. I went to Sephora to look at the little Huda palettes again, but fell in love with this one. Amazon: Lucas Papaw Ointment, which is great for dry lips. Weekend Plans: working 7p-7a Saturday and Sunday. Right now I’m just watching tv and shopping online for Lularoe, another new addiction, lol! Your favorite cuisine: if I’m going out to dinner, a steakhouse is always my first choice. I’m not an adventurous eater.
Haul: I went shopping for the first time this year so it gets a bit crazy: Kate Somerville EradiKate kit, Urban Decay Perversion Mascara Mini, Urban Decay All NIghter Setting Spray Mini, Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer, Fenty Beauty Highlight & Lipgloss Mini Kit, Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser, Dr Jart Clear Lover & Firm Lover Masks & Nails Inc Unicorn Polish Duo.
Weekend Plans: Studying for my upcoming exam on Tuesday, spending time with the cats & dogs as I missed them a lot while away.
Favourite Cuisine: Hard to choose as I just really love a wide variety of food & trying new things but currently I’m really loving Mexican. I may have had way too many burritos & tacos in the last week.
Good luck on your exam, Bec!
