Haul: Nyx Sliptease Lip Oil in Beyond Basic…a pretty brown shade in a very interesting formula. It applies as a liquid lip, but it feels more like a matte bullet lips once it dries down.
Weekend plans: Hang out with family/friends and do some gift shopping.
Do you watch any sports on TV? Yes, I love watching the NBA, and my favorite team’s the Heat 🙂
meant to say it feels like a *matte bullet lipstick
Haul: I got the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette in person on Monday, oh is it nice and won me over the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette. Mad at the weather because I’m waiting to take swatch photo of it for my blog but I’ve been using it all week. lol
Anastasia Beverly Hill Liquid Lipstick in Lovely.
Kat Von D Farm Sanctuary Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bruno.
Milk Makeup Holographic Powder Quad highlighter.
TOM FORD LIP COLOR in INDIAN ROSE mini.
Weekend plans: I’m working until Christmass Eve basically. lol I do get Monday off this week to Visit my Dad’s side of the family.
Do you watch any sports on TV?: The Olympics basically and sometimes the halftime show if I catch it. lol
How do you like the Tom Ford Mini Lippie? Wanted to get that, but, it went out of stock before I could get it.
I like the colour but the cream formula is slightly sheer which didn’t make it that remarkable to me formula wise. 😉
WARPAINTandUnicorns Thanks so much for responding and describing the formula. I really appreciate it!
Haul: ColourPop: You Had Me at Hello palette, Walk of Fame Supernova shadow, Dark Brown brow pencil, Moonchild lipgloss; MAC: Rebel (for my mom) & Ruby Woo lipsticks
Fun story: I got both MAC lipsticks at my CCO for $7.35 each (& Ruby Woo was in Shadescents packaging)! Already selling for $12.25 but they had a flash sale that day. Yay! I should’ve gotten more!
Weekend Plans: Husband is finally home after traveling all week so hopefully just lots of spending time with him & the doggo.
Do you watch any sports on TV?: If it’s on I can get into it, but I would never choose to watch it on my own. I also don’t have cable so really it’s just being a polite guest wherever I am that has sports on ?
What a great deal on the lippies Joyce! Have a relaxing weekend with your husband and doggie.
Haul: TooFaced Chocolate Gold eyeshadow palette, Dose of Colors Blushing Berries and Sassy Siennas eyeshadow palettes, KVD Metal Matte mini.
Weekend Plans: Put away this week’s haul. And hibernate (it’s cold here in NYC)!.
Do you watch any sports on TV: YES! It’s my brain candy. I love sports and I’m a total tomboy (except for loving makeup). Die-hard NY Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Rangers fan.
BTW I love how organized your makeup closet is, Christine! Mine usually looks like that but right now, I’ve had to “kitten-proof” everything which means not leaving anything on the floor!
Giants and Yankees!!!! ?
Even though I’ve lived in So Fla for 25 yrs, I’ve never forgotten my NY teams. I’m still die-hard for the Rangers, Giants (hurting this year) and Yanks!
I cannot get my head around hockey teams based in Florida.
~Haul: Too Faced Glitter Pop! Peel-Off Eyeliner {Color:Hey Mr. DJ (smoldering gold glitter)}
~Weekend plans: Shopping for last-minute Christmas craft supplies!
~Do you watch any sports on TV? Yes, every Saturday during football season. Go Dawgs!
Haul: well after going through an ordeal where a bunch of my packages were delivered to a person with the same house # but one street over (why would they number TOWNHOUSES that ALL LOOK EXACTLY ALIKE the same on 2 adjacent streets? IDK! but they did!) I finally got my latest 2 sephora orders:
2 packages of mixed Farmacy sheet masks for ladies spa day on my family Hawaii trip. Farmacy lip bloom in apple rosemary for me. Tarte “wide awake eyes” set and mini UD Backtalk lipstick for my best friend. Verb leave-in mist mini for my husband.
Weekend Plans: rent a steamer from petsmart and steam clean all the carpet.
Do you watch sports on tv: I used to watch hockey, soccer, and sometimes baseball & basketball, but since we dropped cable it’s impossible to find streams that aren’t expensive or illegal, so now I only watch NWHL (women’s pro hockey) since their official streams are free.
Mellan’s got that guilty look on his sweet face!

*Not much into sports, but during Olympics, we sometimes watch the figure skating events
How do you like TF Indian Rose? That was gone when I made my last order to Sephora. I did get a mascara and the Bobbie Brown lipstick/

Wanted to get the TF lippie in Indian Rose but it was out of stock by the time I was able to call CS . The first CS accidentaly charged my mom’s card, didn’t put in the code, or 100 point perks.
I made a 2nd call to them, and made the order with everything correct and the proper card. It was to late to cancel (went really fast, I noticed the error when they sent the order confirmation, so I had to cancel after it came and return the order. Loved the second CS Rep I spoke with . we were able to get everything straightened out.
Ulta: Tartelette Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette
by Tarte
Naked Ultimate Basics
by Urban Decay Cosmetics
I waited to long to use these eyeshadow palettes, so I repurchased them using Christmas money from my mother. We live on opposite coasts so she sned Christmas money.
Love Your Selfie 2
by PÜR
Also ordered with Christmas money. I had this on my wishlist for over 2 years,
Weekend plans: Hubby works onSaturdays, so making a meals list for the week and picking it up on Sunday. Also going to Petco to get our pets (1 dog, 1 cat) collars and treats for Christmas.
I don’t normally like sports, but, I enjoy firgure skating, ice skating, and gymnastics for the Olympic sports, My husband s from NJ, so it’s the Giants & Yankees. I’m originally from Oregon so my college football team is the UofO Ducks.
Tamah, TF Indian Rose is nice quality, it’s smooth and hydrating. It’s a nice MLBB color for me, a light pinky mauve rose. It’s not too pink, not too nude, and not too warm or cool. I’m NC 15-20 with yellow undertones and usually have trouble wearing lighter pinks/nudes, but this one looks very nice on its own or paired with bold eyes. I can see why this shade is so popular! I missed it the 1st time, but snagged it the 2nd time. It’s been popping up periodically again in the rewards section, so hope you can grab it. They usually drop new rewards on Tues/Thurs morning.
Thanks so much, Katherine! I hope I can grab it too. The color sounds right up my alley, also. Here’s hoping! 🙂
It did pop in again, today, put it in my cart.. placed my order… Went through my PayPal and it disappeared…Again.. very frustrating since I only placed the order for that Perk. At least I will get a new mascara. The Sephora one in Marsala.
Oh no! Hope you get another chance on Thurs
Thanks, Catherine. Hubby isn’t too thrilled with me. trying to figure things out if it does pop up again on Thursday. Every darn time it appears there and then the OOS pops up when I try to order it.

Weekend plans: Pedi Saturday morning. I will be going to Ulta to return the 2 Pantone LIPPYs I bought – they’re awful (see my swatches). My desktop has been acting up so, while I have a laptop, I am going to be looking around to replace my tower.
Do you watch any sports on TV?: Nope.
Haul: Another week where I didn’t buy anything.
Weekend plans: Going to a holiday party tomorrow night. There’s a couple of art and craft fairs we might hit this weekend if we feel like it. Or we might just stay home and watch Netflix and play video games.
Do you watch sports on TV: Nope. I’m not at all interested in any sports.
Good on you AJ for not purchasing anything and keeping to your goals. There are lots of weeks when I don’t purchase anything too, as I have enough.
Haul: I’m trying out Cover Fx’s pigment drops to see if I prefer it to foundation. Since it’s such a pain to find a foundation that works for me, I’m hoping this will do well.
Weekend plans: I’m working all weekend, but I do have to pack for a business trip to Vegas.
Do you watch any sports on TV?: I honestly don’t watch television in general, though I’ve watched them at bars. Never been a huge sports person.
Haul: I bought nothing this week. Last week I bought the Bite Beauty Lip Mask in the red color for no makeup days and got a 500 point Alterna Caviar set consisting of shampoo, conditioner, 10 in 1 leave in conditioner and a gel. I like them a lot but probably will not get the full sizes.
Weekend plans: I am still nursing a cold so I don’t plan to do much. I need to color my hair.
Do I watch sports on TV? I have often been in the room when my husband is watching but do my best to ignore it. Now he says he will stop watching football because the lack of attention to player injuries is getting to him. I used to watch hockey but the New York Rangers broke my heart one too many times.
I hope your cold gets better, it’s easy to catch a cold when the weather changes.
HAUL: With my Sephora $20 off I bought NARS single matte shadows in Blondie (light golden brown) and Bali (dark taupe). Even with all the shadows I own I didn’t have these shades. Trends have been so warm in the last few years that all of my neutrals have an orange lean. So I’ve been using these daily for a contoured eye. Good purchase.
WEEKEND: Finish up Christmas shopping.
SPORTS: I enjoy live sports but I don’t really follow professional sports on TV throughout the year. Maybe just championship games. However I am a fanatic about the Olympics. I watch as many events as humanly possible. I get depressed when they’re over.
Same here Ginny about when the Olympics are over – just love watching all the different sports and cheering on my country.
Haul — very limited, since I spent so much the week before. Just Maybelline Touch of Spice lipstick, as it appealed to me from the round up of plum lipsticks (jury’s out).
Weekend plans — holiday party; otherwise relatively routine — errands, pilates, etc.
Sports — Probably the closest I get to sports is stuff like trivia contests, and I don’t think that counts.
Haul: Does a mortgage count?
Weekend: Shopping for food, trying to de-stress, and STAR WARS!
Sports on TV: I love the Olympics, occasionally I’ll watch equestrian events. I only like to watch Basketball out of the more traditional sports as I prefer most sports live. Soccer can be okay too on TV. If I’m alone at a restaurant, I’ll enjoy a game at the bar if they have TV on. That’s how I ended up seeing a lot of Football while my husband was deployed. I’d go to sushi for a Seahawks game, sit at the bar, eat slow and enjoy the game and chatting with the other singles or sports people at the bar. I get too into it though. I often scream and shout.
Of course, it counts. Congratulations again! You are adulting very well.
Hopefully so, buying a place is always a bit of a gamble! We’re in the inspection and appraisal section now.
Fantastic news Erin, the best kind of haul! I hope you find a really lovely place in Tuscon – the birthplace of one of my most favourite singers Linda Ronstadt. Are home prices expensive there?
I love Linda too!
I suppose it’s defined to what one could consider expensive. I’d say based on most homes here in this area (Tacoma), we are getting a lot for our money.
The house is a little more than we need, but it’s hard to find what I would define a ‘Dog Friendly’ yard. Most yards there are covered in lava rock and cacti. Not dog friendly, so to find a yard with trees to provide shade, grass, not lava rock unless it was a decorative border, a walled yard, a fenced pool with real fencing not screen fence, and no cacti, well we had to go over what our comfort level was initially. We decided since we’d still be in the black by a decent amount to go up in price. We ended up at 315k.
For that, we got a 3k sq ft 4 bed 2.5 baths with a three car garage with and a 1/4 acre with a pool. It’s also about 10 minutes in no traffic and 20 minutes in traffic to my husband’s new job. 10 minutes to the Trader Joe’s and Target is less than 5.It’s on a court in a neighborhood that’s quiet and low crime. It’s two-story home but the master is on the main so our older dog won’t have to go upstairs to sleep. The kitchen is nice sized and nothing feels small or boxed in. The elementary school and middle school are nice, the high school isn’t too good, so we’d eventually move I think if we stay in the area. We don’t have kids yet, but it’s in consideration currently. My husband hopes to have this turn into a career location for him, so with rents being in the $1600 to $2400 range, we decided it was probably better to buy since we have VA and don’t have to have a down payment. First, last, security, and pet deposits add up. We just moved in September and it was all about 10k out of pocket! I’m tapped for savings, lol.
Now I just have to resist makeup until I get a raise 😛
I should also add it needs a smidge of work and we needed something large enough to cover my sister and her old dog living with us as well as potentially my mother. The split plan with a loft den space means everyone can have their own living space and only really share the kitchen as the common space! So we can have kids and extended family under one roof.
Hopefully, my sister will get on her feet when we get there as she is done with rehab RIGHT before we go.
That all sounds fantastic Erin, it’s good to have enough space for everyone and not feel as if you are all underfoot. It’s also great that the backyard is perfect for your pets and a pool is a must with the kind of climate you are going to.
The neighbourhood and shopping facilities close by sound perfect as well. For the price, I think you have got a bargain. House prices here in the outer east of Melbourne are ridiculously high -more like $800,000 for a house like yours.
I hope the rehab situation with your sister works out and she develops her confidence to live her life, free from past struggles.
Once again, Erin – congratulations.
Cutest pic in makeup-dom! Mellan, I have a “curious about the makeup dude”, too ?
Haul: So happy to have received my tubes of Pat McGrath Strangé and my engraved UD Manic lipsticks! Both are absolutely perfect with my coloring, and bring a brightness to my face. Love! Placed an order with ColourPop (why???) for All I See Is Magic and Dusk Till Dawn Palettes, due to arrive tomorrow. When I caught wind of the UD Heavy Metal Palette going on sale for $39, and having my 20% off coupon from Ulta, I bought that on Wednesday, along with a new eye liner brush from Essence. NMR: a new pair of K-Swiss men’s sneakers, my other pair lasted almost 7 whole years!!!
Weekend plans: An appointment and a mini food shopping trip later today. Tomorrow, hair and nails, Sunday meeting, and securing plans to go see The Last Jedi on Monday with my son. Hopefully, he doesn’t flake out on me again like last year!
Do you watch any sports on TV?: If I ever get this new Roku TV set up, I sure will again! I do watch Yankees baseball games, Giants football games, women’s gymnastics, figure skating and the Winter Olympics.
• Haul:
♥ Wayne Goss’ THE AIR-BRUSH (the original)
❝ It’s a Christmas present to myself. I seriously bought it after reading everyone’s comments when Christine posted her thoughts about Wayne Goss’ Rose Gold Air-Brush. I needed a new face brush anyway, so this worked out perfectly. Thanks, guys! ❞
• Weekend plans:
❝ I’m actually still trying to decide what I should do this weekend. There’s just so much black ice around, and it’s so gosh darn cold! I guess it’s another hot cocoa and Asian drama binge this weekend, then. ❞
• Do you watch any sports on TV?
❝ I mainly watch American football; NFL games, specifically. And I only watch when the New England Patriots play. I never really got into watching baseball, basketball, or soccer. However, I do occasionally enjoy watching golf, and I love watching prestigious tennis tournaments (when either of the Williams sisters play). I’m an avid sports fan when the Olympics — both summer and winter — rolls around, though. I’ll watch anything then! Lol. I can’t wait for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics! ❞
Haul: I’ve been buying more makeup than I was planning to, I fell for all the sales and coupons! So I got Smashbox Ablaze palette, Viseart Petit Pro palette, Dior eyeshadow quint in Provoke, Lancome Matte Shaker in Plum Plum Girl, Becca Liquid Crystal gloss in Topaz x Gilt and Opal x Jade. I need to return the MUFE holiday eyeshadow palette, the formula just doesn’t work for me sadly!
Weekend plans: a holiday party on Saturday and brunch on Sunday.
Sports on TV: I don’t have a TV at home so no I don’t watch!
That Dior quint Provoke has just divine cool toned shades – the greys and silvers are beautiful. A great choice.
I bought it to pair it with the all-matte quint Dream, I think they’ll work wonderfully together!
They certainly will!
Haul: Tarte Hamptons Weekender palette (colors looked perfect for my skin tone!), Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara, MAC Cool Neutrals eye palette, Milani Afterglow Highlighter
Weekend plans: Star Wars! and hopefully get some things done around the house
Do I watch sports on TV?: While I don’t watch regularly as I don’t have cable, I do love watching NFL games, especially out at a bar. Even though it is totally scripted and over the top, WWE can also be very amusing to watch.
Haul: Not much this week. I picked up a tester size of the Lancôme Monsieur Big mascara and it finally came in so trying that out. I am not sure about it yet. I have very hooded eyes and the wand is big and fat which usually spells disaster but after I get rid of the debris on my lid I kind of like the look. It hasn’t been transferring much so we will see. I picked up a couple of new Elf Stippling Brushes which are repurchases for me. They are inexpensive so I can grab them whenever I feel like my current one is getting too old. And I bought a new Instyler. My hair has been giving me fits lately and saw this one used on YT so thought I would give it a chance and picked it up during Ulta’s $25. off on any hair care items so it is usually $79.00 so got it for $54. I used it for the first time this morning and it works okay. Will have to play with it too.
Weekend plans: I had some minor surgery (back injections) done on Wednesday and it didn’t go as smoothly as it normally does. The anesthesiologist had difficulty getting into the epidural space on both sides and says my stenosis is getting worse. Not happy about that needless to say. He did finally manage to get it but I am swollen, bruised and the nerves have been irritated so my toes feel like someone is trying to chop them off with a red hot knife and I am having trouble with the quadriceps muscles off my right thigh. All of that should be temporary and resolve over the next 2 weeks and then if I have the effect I have had before from the injections, and I don’t fall again, then I should have a couple of good months. So, in answer to the question, I am doing nothing this weekend!!
Sports events: I use to follow a lot of sports and loved watching “Wide World of Sports” on ABC all the while I was growing up. My ex-husband was a huge jock and so sports were a part of our life, especially football as he played professionally for a few years until he tore his ACL in his left shoulder and had to have a shoulder replacement done. After that, while he could have played, no one wanted to take a chance on his shoulder. So now I still follow football but mostly just a couple of teams, my Seattle Seahawks and his Kansas City Chiefs. I look forward to the Olympics on TV but something about the way they split them up and show them every two years as opposed to the every four year schedule, seems like it took some of the excitement away for me but I don’t know why. It could be that since I don’t have the aforementioned TV program I am not as familiar with the different participants. Anyway, I do enjoy sports some of the time.
Spinal stenosis, omg. Good luck with everything…and it’s very complex.
Ouch. I hope you heal quickly.
Oh Deborah, it must be so painful for you at the moment. Nerve pain is so awful. I hope you have a quiet weekend and that your soreness and stiffness is relieved soon.
Ouch, hope you feel better soon!
Deborah, I hope you feel better with each passing day. I had (minor) trigger point injection and felt terrible within hours, which never happens. Doing nothing is what the body demanded. Take good care of yourself and hope you feel better soon.
Well, I have 15 minutes after eating, between day and night job, so, let’s try. My big Zoeva came. I find with the luxe shader and definer brushes of theirs, there is virtually no kick up on shadows. With the WG or It, there is. Too many palettes, of which I like Offline the best. Good for cools, neutrals, with a tad of color. Got one each of the lip formulas, and the pure lacquer Senso is fab. Does not budge, while not being flat matte. Orange. Nice. Wound up getting the whole Opulence set, which has incredible packaging and a vey comprehensive brush set with understated maroon matte handles. Really wanted only the blush and brushes, but the difference in price was an eye palette for next to nothing. Only took a month to the Eastern seabord, and the safety of the packaging, for 9$, was also first rate. The total Zoeva haul would read like Michele Binxcat. They suit me well. The tax in Mass would be far more than 9, so I will prob continue to order direct, even if Z becomes available stateside. Sephora: 4 commodities, of which one is half filled. I so hate to do stores bet Halloween and VD! But it has to go. Got 2 other pointer men’s Fragrances, and the kvd pointer. Gave away saint/sinner scents today…She was thrilled. Plans: unless I was put on the schedule against my wishes at night job, will finish the online courses to get my license renewal. The pile is over 18” high! Otherwise, SSDW. It is so abominably cold that i’m not taking Patti out at all, and Jussi seldom. My face has an issue, and frigidity won’t improve it. Sports: very seldom. I’m Crime dramas, real and fiction, occ PBS.
Kbh, I think it was your mention of Zoeva before its BF sale that made me check out their website. I also got a few things at Zoeva during BF which I just got last week–my first time ever buying this brand. I don’t have very many neutral shadow palettes (I’ve got issues with certain ingredients in most palettes, plus I want a mix of finishes), but I did some research beforehand so was able to buy three different ones which I’m excited about: Nude Spectrum (the largest palette I’ve ever acquired, but boy does it look like a winner); Naturally Yours (I just tried this one last night and really like it); and Smoky (I’m going more neutral these days but I needed some darker shades for my outer eyelid/crease so thought I’d see how I liked that palette). I also got the eyebrow brush, which is very similar to my Hakuhodo one for less than about 1/3 the price. Anyway, I’m curious to read about your experiences/observations with this brand as now they’ve got my full attention. 🙂 And I wanted to thank you for mentioning how much you liked them before BF so I had a chance to check them out myself.
Oops, I did a typo of your name — I meant kjh…
Haul: Crazy – I know I bought some stuff this week but in all honesty, I cannot remember what! (it’s been THAT sort of week)
Weekend plans: my older son returns home tomorrow and then the plan is to go to my daughter and son in law’s new home (they’re moving in today, in the middle of an unexpected and very unwelcome snowstorm and the previous owners STILL haven’t moved out!). Then there’s grocery shopping (I need to find a big enough turkey) and also a dinner hosted by mother in law’s seniors’ residence, which will be nice.
Sports – I will watch equestrian events and also downhill skiing and, during the Winter Olympics, I like watching “crazy” stuff like the biathlon and luge. My late mom and her sisters were all speedskaters at a time where most people didn’t know what speedskates were and thought they were wearing men’s hockey skates. I do like watching speedskating just because of the link to my late mom and her sisters.
Hmmm – moving into a new home + snowstorm + previous owners not moved out = very tricky weekend.
It’s a bit tough that the past owners haven’t got their act together – I definitely hope they clean up the house – it would be too rude if they didn’t. I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one, seeing as they are so disorganised.
Maybe instead of getting one big turkey, get two smaller ones – they can both fit into the oven and will take less time to cook….
It’s interesting that here in Aus, we don’t really do turkey so much for Christmas – more like roast pork or lamb and/or lots of seafood (given the hot weather) and salads.
Oh dear – an Australian Xmas meal wouldn’t go down well here! My hubby won’t eat pork at all – not even bacon – ever since we visited his brother who was working at a pig farm as part of his aggie studies; he also won’t eat lamb (I don’t think anyone in the entire family except me likes lamb) and we’ve got a few people with serious seafood allergies (including my husband – life threatening shellfish allergy).
Turkey is pretty traditional in Canada, along with ham, but, again, given the pork aversion, I don’t bother with ham (I’m not a huge fan though I will eat it).
In past, I’ve made 2 smaller turkeys and liked it but since getting a massive table top roaster AND learning a great trick for making the turkey a day ahead and reheating it without it tasting reheated, I do one large one in the roaster.
The kids are in their house and we’re heading up there this afternoon because our son is arriving and wants to see their house (and also see his sister). The people moving out – they had young children and they might have encountered issues at their new location, for all I know. My daughter’s in-laws live quite close to this new house so they were all able to wait it out at the in-laws’ house until they could move in.
Oh Mariella, if you only knew how close your family’s food habits are to mine – you would laugh too. Even though we live continents aways – they are just the same. For example:
Husband – won’t eat pork after he went to a pig farm to install agricultural pumps (he worked as an engineer for a pump firm)
He won’t eat lamb – because he doesn’t like the smell of it
Definitely doesn’t eat chicken either!
Only really likes seafood and beef….
Son 1 – He only eats some seafood and beef – no lamb or pork etc.
Son 2 – Loves lamb and pork, so -so about beef, mostly dislikes seafood
Daughter in law – Hates pork and lamb, and most beef, will eat seafood
Grandchildren and myself – eat everything!
So meals at our place always involve some beef, some lamb/pork and some seafood. I am always making the banquet…… plus lots of salads and roast veg.
I hope your turkey cooks really well. I have heard of cooking the turkey the day before and reheating the sliced meat slowly. Some tips I’ve heard have talked about adding the gravy between the layers of the meat.
I hope the house is really good and it will be lovely for them to have their own place.
Genevieve, distance apart be darned, we should get together for a family meal. All rest of them can eat toast or Kraft Dinner (do you have KD in Oz?) and you and I could have grilled lamb chops, shrimp several ways, ribs, all sorts of wonderful things…
I am laughing Mariella, we don’t have KD in Oz but there are times when I just want to give them bread and water…….
No KD??? You can’t imagine what you’re missing (not!) – elbow macaroni and luminous orange “powdered cheese product”. Every uni student’s staple! As for the bread and water thing, you can’t even do that any more as there are so many people who either really can’t have gluten (like my sis in law’s fella, who has celiac disease) or who “don’t do carbs” (we’ve got a few of those “trend eaters” in the family and I’m at the point now where I’m like “I made all this; it was a lot of work; eat it or don’t eat it but I’m DONE”)
Haul: I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics eyeshadow palette for $24. It was on sale at Ulta for $27, and they took off an additional $3 from points I had earned. I’ve had my eye on this palette since it came out, but couldn’t justify spending the money. At 55% off, it was an easy purchase! I used it for the first time today and I’m very happy I have it. Also got a limited edition Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick in Framboise Velours, a gorgeous raspberry shade that feels light on the lips and stays on for hours.
Weekend plans: Chores, visiting family
Do you watch any sports on TV? Not a sports fan, but I do like the Olympics.
P.S. I love the Mellan photo!! My dog likes to steal tissues from my vanity so he can shred them into a big mess.
Mellon is definitely a mischievious boy!
Haul: Huda Smokey Obsessions palette! When I looked online at Sephora Aus. they were all sold out, but instore they had just received a new shipment. My husband wants to give this to me for Christmas.
Clarins 03 Natural Brown quad – another Chrissy present from my son
Chosungah 22 foundation in porcelain – Deborah’s favourite. It is divine.
Weekend plans: Getting the house ready for Christmas – so I am cleaning the outside windows on Saturday afternoon. Tidying up the place and sorting through the baby toys we have here that are no longer played with, ready to donate.
Sunday – not sure yet, but it will involve shopping and ironing.
Watch Sports: Not generally, but I enjoy the Tour De France and sometimes a bit of cricket. Needless to say my husband and sons love watching Formula One, Cricket, Aussie Rules football etc,
However I do love watching the Olympics and Commonwealth Games when they are on
Yay, Genevieve, you picked up the Chosungah 22 foundation. I am glad you are liking it. I love this foundation so much and will be really sorry when my stockpile, thanks to CeeBee, runs out. I was thinking about finding an everyday foundation to wear to prolong the life of my Chosungah but the ones I have might out date and go bad before I used them up so have decided to enjoy it while I have it and then deal with it later. I do think I may have picked up a slight tan this summer as Porcelain is looking just a hair light on me and usually matches me perfectly but I am sure I will be back to my usual pasty white soon. I can see that the shade Porcelain would be lovely on you. I may be wrong and you may be able to get if in Australia for the foreseeable future. I will have to watch the stocking at Mecca and see if they get any new in!!
I used up the sample pot of the foundation first and the porcelain shade was perfect for me. It doesn’t seem like they are going to run out of it soon.
So pleased am I to get another HE foundation as my beloved Clarins Everlasting one is running out and that has definitely been D/C’s.
Thank you for the recommendation Deborah – you’re a legend.
I am glad to hear that it sounds like they plan to continue making it. I wonder if it wasn’t selling well enough here in the states so they pulled it off of Sephora. Anyway, I have three backups so that should get me through for awhile. I love the look of it on the skin and shade matches me perfectly also. Glad that you like it and can get it in Australia. Thank you, Genevieve.
Haul: Becca Light Chaser Highlighter in Topaz Chases Gilt. Too Faced Melted Latex Lipgloss in Hopeless Romantic, Peekaboo & Girl On Top. Plus Fenty Gloss Bomb lipgloss from Sephora sale.
Also Maybelline Molten Rose Gold Highlighter. Wet n Wild Hooked on Vinyl quad , Comfort Zone and Not a Basic Peach Palettes. Sleek Bring On the Night gift set.
Also Lancome Matte Shaker in Beige Vintage
Weekend Plans : Wrapping presents. Writing Christmas cards
Sports on TV: I have watched the occasional college or NFL football game and I usually check out the Olympics when they come around but in general I hate sports and hate watching sports on TV or watching sports news…ugggh lol
Haul: I have a Nabla order coming in this next week. Three shadows (Freestyler, Water Dream, Dreamer) and one of their liquid eyeliners (Industrial). I think Dreamer will be a good dupe for KVD Heaven from the Saint + Sinner palette, Water Dream was a recommendation from JKissa as one of those “wet look” eyeshadows that are so popular right now, and I’ve had my eye on Freestyler since it came out this summer, but by the time I got around to ordering from Nabla it was sold out (I only ever order when they have half price international shipping because you need to spend like €100 for free shipping and that would be SO much in USD). I also have some plain, basic t-shirts coming from Everlane (best brand for affordable, well-made, basics). From now on though, with the possible exception of the Melt sale coming on Monday, I’m on a low/no buy for the next three months. I really need to develop more self-control, and I’ve been getting better, but this is a necessary step.
Weekend plans: I’m back at my parents’ for the break, and tomorrow I’m running errands for my mom.
Do I watch sports on TV? I despise American football, and I’m not really a fan of basketball. Overall, I really just don’t watch much TV because I don’t have cable at school, but I do enjoy watching baseball, tennis, hockey, and the occasional soccer match. I just don’t have the patience to actually follow sports though. However, I do try to tune into as much of the Olympics as possible.
Haul: Nada. Vet bills mean I’m on a no-buy for the foreseeable future. But as of today little cat (we have big cat- Mao, and little cat- Nedeep – so named as he’s always knee-deep in trouble) is healthy, his electrolytes are up, he’s not dehydrated, on some good pain meds for a week, got a shot of antibiotics, down one tooth, and very confused (and a bit wobbly) as to why he was abducted and sedated twice in like a week…
Weekend plans: Make a gingerbread house, bake some cookies, watch some more of The Crown (I watch it mostly with my mom and week nights she’s too exhausted from work to watch, so we’re only a few episode in to this season), and just chill out and get in the holiday spirit.
Do you watch any sports on TV?: Nope, although I do follow the World Cup scores online and watch bits and pieces of some of those games.
Haul: Stila Eye For Elegance Liquid Eyeshadow Set (I absolutely love these!!), Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte Lipsticks in So Jelly, Make It Reign, Kale My Vibe, Punked Rock, and Always On. Ofra Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Charmed and Aries. Aries is a little too pale for my skin tone and I’m sending it back. I also got the Nyx Meet the Metallics Vault but dislike the formula; these are going back too. I love liquid lipsticks (including matte formulas) but not these. Weekend Plans: working all weekend. Do you watch any sports on tv? Never. Well, I do watch ice skating during the Winter Olympics and gymnastics during the Summer Olympics, but I don’t like any other sports.
I forgot to add that the Ulta purchase was with my 20% coupon code, 🙂
Haul: Just a couple Z palettes for my MUFE eyeshadows.
Weekend Plans: My sister-in-law and I are baking Christmas cookies this weekend and following it up with dinner. Its our Christmas tradition. Dinner is lasagna.
Sports: I never miss the Little League World Series at the end of each summer. Those children show true sportsmanship and its always inspiring. My husband laughs at me because I’m usually pacing the living room.
Haul: Tom Ford Indian Rose Lipstick deluxe sample, Colourpop Super Shock Shadows in Bouncy and Revolution, and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Pink Honey and Black Honey.
Weekend plans: Trying to get over this cold… I’m pretty sure it’s a sinus infection though and I have an appointment for Monday evening. Oh, and reading Reylo fanfics all weekend. Maybe getting all you can eat sushi on Sunday?
Do you watch any sports on TV? Hockey! Go Flyers!
Haul: Wayne Goss holiday brush; received Tom Ford Orchid Soleil Nightbloom highlighter – it’s gorgeous and came in record speed from Selfridges.
Weekend plans: heading to Canada for the holidays and then some. We had sad news recently that a member of my spouse’s family passed away unexpectedly. We’re in a state of disbelief. We’ll be holding family and friends even closer this holiday.
Watch sports on TV: YES!! Football, hockey, skiing, skating, and all sorts of events that lead to Olympic qualifiers. Can’t wait for the Winter Olympics.
I’m a bit late for this one, but…
Haul: Colourpop! I got the Yes, Please, All I See Is Magic, and Dream St. palettes, as well as the Dusk Till Dawn Super Shock Shadow set, Lit Year Super Stock Shadow, and the Nuts and Berries Lip Stocking Stuffer. I also grabbed the My Little Pony Palette for a friend.
Plans: Going out to dinner with my family, then just chilling 🙂
Sports on TV: No, not really – only in the years that the Olympics is on haha.
Haul: BH Cosmetics ItsMyRayeRaye Palette, BH Cosmetics Pro brush set, three individual Morphe Brushes M433, M441 & M510, and a Sigma Precision Brush set including P86, P84, P82, P88 & P80. This is my first time trying all of these brushes. I like them all. Snagged UD Moondust on sale for $24.50 and got two deluxe lipsticks; Tom Ford in Indian Rose (1st time trying, doesn’t make me want to buy full size, a bit too sheer) and deluxe Bobbi Brown in Neutral Rose. Loving Bobbi Brown. Snagged 6 BiTE Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks at Marshalls for $49.50 total. Got; Kale (already owned but wanted another so to get it cheap was awesome), Squid Ink (wanted this one!), Porcini, Cremini, Portobello and two Lush Lip Tints in Cherry & Raspberry and went back the next day and found two KVD Studded lipstick in Cathedral & Hellbent. Thought I got Lolita too but didn’t. Picked a Violet Voss Pro Holy Grail palette (1st time trying Violet Voss). Clinique Beyond perfecting foundation + concealor in Clove (I already have Clinique Even Better in clove but its definitely not the same), Sephora Charcoal Cleansing Water and a new favorite perfume Derek Lam Silent St. And tried Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer. Also picked up Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Cleaning Pads.
Weekend plans: Cleaning my room, it desperately needs it.
Do you watch any sports on TV?: Football and Golf
I love reading updates like this that are more personal and not just “what my blog is doing this week”. I really like the Wet n Wild brand, too!
Also, what is it with pets and closets!? My cats are always eager to sleep in my clothes and try to get into all the drawers in my closet or I’ve even seen my one cat sprawled over several pairs of my shoes in the front hallway closet…so strange!
