- Haul: Ciate Liquid Chrome/Glitter Flip lip products, Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham (a few of the new pieces, not all), Sunday Riley Good Genes and Luna Oil
- Weekend plans: I need to clear out the “mail room,” which is effectively my front entry area as it is overflowing with products that need to be sorted (donations, review later, review sooner, etc.).
- What is your favorite holiday?: It used to be Thanksgiving, since I enjoy the traditional feast, and my parents have perfected the art of said feast (probably because they do it four times a year!), but since I moved out of a state, I’d say Christmas. My parents come visit, my mom cooks, and I get to decorate!

Sweet dreams Mellan!
**Sephora x Moschino Teddy Bear Shadow palette -OMG, I am SO glad I snagged this!! This is a real treasure. The gold teddy bear is beyond adorable, I want to hug it every time I look at it! And the shadows are amazing!!! I was complete stunned, as Sephora brand isn’t known for great shadows, but out of 21 shadows, only 1 is a dud (bright matte purple) and the other 1 (darker matte purple) looks fixable with primer/cream base. The metallics are absolutely stunning, 1 swipe is all you need, they are as good as UD singles, and there’s an absolutely stunning peachy gold metallic that is probably MUFE quality. But even the mattes blue/black/reds/browns are good–the mattes are a very buildable formula, so only takes 2 swipes to get good-to-great pigment. The mattes can be a touch dry and powdery when swatched, but they apply well to the lids with primer. There’s also 3 matte reds in here, which I have never seen before in a palette. I tested some shadows, and everything blended well and held up with primer on my super oily lids for 10 hrs. It is very warm palette though, lots of peachy/reds/warm brown colors, but very pretty. IMO this is a total steal at $48, if you can get your hands on it. And if Sephora uses this shadow formula for future kits and collaborations, it would definitely be a game changer for them
**WNW Mermaid Collection Box –it only took me 3 hours to check out from WNW’s wonky website, but I snagged the box with the entire collection, which is a steal at $35. The highlighter is stunning!!! It is a gold that shifts over a cool silvery white base. It can be applied blinding or sheered down. The liquid lipsticks are awesome, but they aren’t metallic (more soft matte or soft satin) but the colors and formula are great. I wore the burgundy wine and brown ones, the pigment is crazy, they glide on like velvet, felt weightless. They’re not transfer proof but they do last a while, thru light meals/snacks, and it’s very easy to re-apply. If they get a bit dry, I touch up with a bit of lip balm, and they are good to go for the rest of the day. The liquid metallic shadows are tricky, mine had a very sheer black base and uneven sparkles, a disaster when worn alone. But as toppers over powder shadows, they are very sparkly, pretty, and fun to play with. Dab only a tiny bit on top, because if you add too many layers, it looks very textured and crusty. The weakest swatch was the green shadow, but it’s my fave color because it gives a real mermaid vibe. The eyeliners are meh, a skip in my opinion -pigment is weak, need several layers, and nothing special. But overall, I’m super happy, as the box is such a great value (only $3 per item), especially since I don’t wear some of the “weird” colors that often but would love to play and experiment with them.
**Weekend – Going to friend’s birthday lunch, and hoping I don’t have to go in for work
**Thanksgiving, unless I have to host
Haha – I like your caveat about Thanksgiving!!
Love that Teddy Bear palette and the shades look amazing. I am so glad that the brand delivered an excellent palette and that you love it.
I love all holidays too – and I am getting a tad tired of always hosting…..
Yes, big love for that teddy bear! LOL well it sounds like you do an awesome job hosting!
I must – because everyone wants to come to our place! We have a large home, so plenty of room for the children to run around and lots of toys (you know that famous New York toyshop that recently closed down? Yep – that’s our place) and I always try to have a variety of meats, salads, vegetables etc.
Lucky Moschino buy! <3
Yes, a bit of luck and obsessive stalking of Sephora’s website helped LOL After prowling the site all day for the first “launch” which never happened, I almost gave up in disgust, but snagged it a week later, 2 minutes after it launched!
I had zero interest in the Sephora x Moschino Collection until I just read your rave about it!
Based on past experiences with Sephora shadows, I was fully prepared for a lot of crappy ones or at best, a mixed bag, so I thought the Moschino teddy bear might end up being a museum piece, super cute to look at but not very usuable. So I was completely stunned the shadows are so great! Maybe in order to protect the brand’s rep, Moschino agreed to the collab only if Sephora used their best shadows? IDK but I’m hoping Sephora switches to this formula permanently!
I would love to be doing what Mellon is doing in that photo instead of slaving away at my computer at work!!!
HAUL:
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Rapture
Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
Plus a few NYX single eyeshadows that were on clearance for around $3
WEEKEND PLANS:
Going out with friends, chores, Twin Peaks (only 3 episodes left!)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY?
Christmas. Although I hate the shopping, the crowds, and the stress people put themselves through, I love the decorations, music, time spent with loved ones, and the real meaning of the holiday.
Rapture! Such a great shade.
Haul: I have a box from Nordstrom I need to open; I had some Notes and used them on beauty purchases. I picked up two of the new Guerlain Liquid Mattes and that Baby Glow Touch highlighter stick, the Hourglass lipstick you made me buy I’m Addicted, Mac Rollewheel liquid liner and a repurchase of my Lancome Teint Idole Foundation Stick.
Was also finally able to get my hands on ColourPop’s Yes Please palette and am currently about to check out my cart from City Color Cosmetics. Their shimmer shadows are cheaper (now $3.99) for some reason. Same shades, though.
Weekend Plans: August has been a lazy month for me and it’ll continue to be. I’m going to try to edit some videos and schedule some posts, but if I don’t feel like it, I’m not gonna. 🙂
Favorite Holiday: I’ve never been a holiday person… I used to love Halloween bc of the debauchery but I think I’ve aged out of that. I used to love thanksgiving bc of the feasting as well, but I have been gaining weight since I left Florida so that doesn’t really entice me anymore. I suppose I like the time between Xmas and New Years; either I have loads of time off or I’m traveling.
So glad you were able to snag Yes, Please!
I’ll be curious how you feel about the Guerlain Baby Glow stick.
Its gorgeous. Lasts all day, too. BUT the three shades do not translate on my dark skin… it just looks like a champagne highlighter. Love it, though. It doesn’t disturb my foundation either.
Oooh do you like the Baby Glow and MAC Rollerwheel?
I love the Baby Glow! As I mentioned to Lea, it’f beautiful on me but the three shades don’t really show up on me. The Mac Rollerwheel… I want to love it, I really do! I LOVE the formula but the application turns out to not be so practical… I am considering returning it.
Champagne would be gorgeous on you but I can see a bit of disappointment when the shades don’t translate as you hoped when you bought it. I was so curious about the rollerwheel. I’m seeing more and more brands come out with different tools for that purpose. Thanks!
I am soooo interested in the ciate glitter flips!!
Haul: I bought some stuff from the ulta points sale- the new Bareminerals foundation, the tarte clay foundation, Smashbox primers (primerizer and the oil), ulta eye gels, urban decay naked shapeshifter palette, and 2 colors of the TF liquid lipsticks…something about the feelin’ myself color calls to me (plus drop dead red).
Weekend plans: Not Sure… it’s up in the air at the moment!
What is your favorite holiday?: It is either Halloween- I love dressing up, having a huge party, and the prepping for the huge party. I also love watching spooky things leading up to it. OR it is Christmas- I love Christmas shopping and spending the day with my boyfriend’s family (they are a wild bunch).
Ooh, yeah, my Ulta orders come tomorrow, I think!
Enjoy your new goodies 😀
Haul: Found a backup bottle of one of my favorite perfumes that’s getting harder and harder to find. Eau de Shalimar by Guerlain. Picked that up but that’s it for beauty stuff.
Weekend plans: Birthday is next week but I’m hosting a BBQ/birthday party this weekend so I’m working on that now. I haven’t had a birthday PARTY since I think I was 11 or 12 maybe? 21 if you count things like cake with my parents and our next door neighbors. LOL I prefer low key so this is different for me.
What’s your favorite holiday?: When I plan for it, maybe Halloween. My favorite season is summer though and most of the big holidays are in the winter or late fall so I actually don’t usually get excited about the holidays. Quite the opposite. On a good day I find myself just trying to make the best out of them.
Most holidays (birthday included) are laced with a certain amount of sadness or melancholy that makes me want to hide under the covers until they’re gone. I remember even as a kid feeling that way; crying during thanksgiving, being anxious at Christmas or getting sad on my birthday.
Happy early birthday, Dusty!! 🙂
What made you decide to go for a larger party this year?
You’re guess is as good as mine! I wake up every morning and want to change my mind. LOL! I just never have done much for my birthday and I thought I would do something big for it last year but we were in the middle of moving so I didn’t get the chance. Figure I’ll try it at least once! 😉
Eau de Shalimar;) 🙂
Happy birthday, Dustin! I hope you have really good time at your birthday BBQ!
That Guerlain is phenomenal – great choice!
HAUL: MUFE shadows in Taupe Platinum, Cauldron, Golden Snake, Auburn, Sienna, and Crystalline Gray Beige. Working on my mega palette!
WEEKEND: Yard work 🙁
FAVORITE HOLIDAY: Halloween. The whole vibe of October is just the best, I love costumes and scary movie marathons, and then when it’s over I still have Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to.
Oooh, yay for new MUFE eyeshadows!! Sometimes I forget all about them since they’ve been out for awhile, lol.
Last 3 are omg faves. I still try to add Trios periodically….not ‘themed’ trios. Last one was Chrome, OcherPink, and Blue Cedar. Working off C’s swatches, sorted but Ed’s Highest Rated, but also what I like. CGB is dynamite. Auburn and Sienna are great for cheeks or eyes. In that family, I think I might like Canyon best. Dontcha just love projects? Mine is abh shadows, though I don’t love them the way I do mufe. I just want a cool eight.
They’re definitely my favorite formula, the mattes especially I have a ton! I didn’t have too many lid colors (metallics to irridescents) so I hauled a few. But couldn’t stop without a few more mattes!
Haul: Got a new Estee Lauder lipstick from the pure color love Collection in the shade raw sugar. Just a nice every day color. Also got Peter Thomas Roth retinol PM serum plus a hydrating serum from Filorga that I cant remember the name of. Never used either of these serums before so will see how that turns out.
Weekend plans: I will do a bit of shopping and cooking and then just reading and relaxing.
Fav holiday: While halloween is not really celebrated much where I live I quite like halloween just for lights and scary movies. Same goes for christmas although then because of the lights and not scary movies. In general I just like having holidays when it is dark outside so one can be a bit festive.
How do you like the Pure Color Love formula overall?
lol Mellan is so funny
Haul: Just getting tickets to Walker Stalker Con…getting ready to hit up ATL in October
Weekend plans: unpack and rest
What is your favorite holiday?: Christmas. It has always been a big deal for family time.
He is an amusing dog 😉
You are always traveling – I love it!
That bow collar is too cute:)
Only thing I bought were some perfume samples. I forgot which ones already lol.
Plans….I really should get some of this sunshine in before fall comes(booo!)
Fave holiday, 4th of July. An excuse to light things on fire and watch them explode with colors, can’t beat that. I have seen fireworks by lakes which are especially nice.
What’s your go-to perfume for summer, Kalliela?
Umm..I don’t really have a go-to hehe, but right now I am wearing Tiare Mimosa by Guerlain, which is nice and sunny..just like the weather here right now 🙂
Haul: Nothing this week, but as I was organizing my makeup, I came across the UD Naked Skin Shapeshifter palette I bought during the last ULTA 20% sale, and forgot about… It’s a beautiful palette, but I wouldn’t recommend it for novices, as it is *extremely* pigmented.
I also ordered a L’Oreal Color Riche Matte Lipstick on eBay, 900 Midnight In Paris, which is exclusive to Europe, and that finally came in this week. It’s a deep grey with iridescent pearl, and is absolutely beautiful!
Plans: Continue to go through my wardrobe, and gather things to donate, repair, pack away, etc…
Favorite Holiday: Halloween! Unfortunately, it seems we’re losing the Holiday here in the States (at least for the kids)…
Thanks for the tip on UD’s palette!
Haul: Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham – eye palette, aura gloss (I haven’t tried it on the tip of my nose yet lol), smudgy matte eyeliner, and the lip glosses in Desert Heat and Fired Crystal.
Weekend plans: writing a paper for school, working on the house, possibly test drive a car.
What is your favorite holiday?: This is a tough one. My inner goth kid always says “Halloween” but lately I’ve been more introspective about life so it’s now a tie between Halloween for fun and Christmas for love and family.
How do you like the Victoria Beckham Eye Palette?
I personally really like it but it’s definitely a different formula. I found it worked best with fingers or sponge applicators. However, I say that with the caveat that my skin is soaking up everyyyything right now and might have eaten the shadow pigmentation too lol. Can’t wait to see what you think of it!
Haul:
Marc Jacobs Eye Conic palettes in Frivoluxe and Provocouture. Each came with a little sample of the Marc Jacobs eye lid primer which was okay but not great. The shadows that I have used are really nice, buttery, easily applied and blended on the lid. MAC Viva Glam 1, MAC Extra Dimension Blushes in Rosy Cheeks and Wrapped Candy. Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Detox Hydrogel Eye Patches, PTR Instant FirmX for face and neck and Instant FirmX for eyes. Both products work really well for smoothing out wrinkles, as a temporary treatment, however, once you move your face the wrinkles are back. They are difficult to figure out how to use as they have to be applied to dry skin and then when you apply makeup products over them they seem to stop working. I can’t really figure out how to use them effectively and may return them after trying a couple of different approaches.
Weekend Plans: Painting, painting and more painting, LOL.
Favorite Holiday: Christmas because I love to decorate.
Sounds like you’ve had some really good luck with new products that you hauled, Deborah!
Yes, I am really enjoying the Marc Jacobs palettes. I wasn’t interested in the Frivoluxe palette until your eye look and then I just had to have it. I am thinking I will pick up at least one or two others. Seems like there is at least one bad shade in each palette but in these two palettes the bad shade isn’t my favorite and wouldn’t be used much anyway so was worth it to me. Thank you again for enabling me, LOL!!
Are you painting your house Deborah?
Hi Genevieve, yes I am and have been in the prep and prepare phase for what seems like forever since we took our vacation right in the middle of it but now I can’t procrastinate any longer. Winter is getting closer every day and if I don’t get started it will be too late. Hardest part was trying to decide what color to paint it and I have to admit, I still have to decided between the last two choices!!
I think painting your house is the hardest thing to do because of all the prep work – getting rid of things, moving furniture. It makes me tired thinking of it.
Then you have to go and choose what paint shade – how hard is that!
What shades are you thinking about?
You deserve a big medal after this!
Haul: Bite Liquified Amuse Bouche Infuse, Anastasia Matte Lipstick Dead Roses, and a few products from The Ordinary, including their serum foundation. This is my first time using The Ordinary products and WOW am I impressed. It isn’t just that they perform well, but the value for money is insane.
Weekend plans: Watching soccer and probably working. Blogging if I can fit it in, because I’ve been neglecting my web space lately.
What is your favorite holiday?: Halloween. (What a surprise. The girl with the dark lipstick obsession loves Halloween.) But this dates back to when I was a kid, because I’ve always loved getting spooked and the feeling of mystery and eeriness that surrounds gave me a thrill. Plus I’ve ALWAYS loved coming up with costumes!
I have heard a lot of great things about The Ordinary!
How do you find the serum foundation? I’ve heard mixed reviews of it. Too runny, too patchy etc. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.
Just be glad he isn’t sleeping in your bathroom sink or in his case, your tub! LOL! Idk why male furbabies love snoozing on their backs with their paws up in the air like they just don’t care… whenever mine isn’t in my sink, he can be found positioned likewise!
Haul: 3 ABH Matte Lipsticks in Dead Roses, Kiss and Rage. Very comfortable and they last on me quite a long time! Also picked up Huda Shameless Lip Strobe, which looks gorgeous over ABH Kiss! My order from the Dermstore sale, Sunday Riley UFO, finally shipped yesterday. Been enjoying my 2 DoC Desi x Katy items I bought. Mírame has become an immediate favorite highlighter, and The Girls has gorgeous shades, but there is definitely a learning curve to using them.
Weekend plans: Just my same old routine, I hope. This week was quite stressful and tiring, so a very routine oriented weekend is precisely what I need.
What is your favorite holiday: One most have never even heard of; the Memorial of Christ’s Death. Sounds gloomy and depressing. But it’s not. Even though it’s serious, the fact that hundreds of us are together commemorating it, and almost always go out afterwards in smaller groups to eat together and reflect, just builds appreciation in my heart for what it’s about.
LOL! He will lay IN the bathroom or follow me in it but definitely not in a sink. I have found him in a shower before, though…
Nancy T., I’m glad to hear you like ABH Dead Roses. I was so excited to buy it because it seemed like a perfect lipstick for me, but I absolutely hated how it looked and felt on my lips. With great disappointment I returned it (something I rarely do). Interesting because I have ABH matte lipstick in Ruby and I like it a lot.
Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear, Seraphine! Probably the main reason why I can wear these at all is due to laying down a coat of MAC Prep & Prime Lips beforehand, because otherwise, my lips just hate 95% of ALL matte lipsticks. ?
Nice picks! Also, I’ve heard of the holiday…. 🙂
Thank you, Michele! I think Dead Roses is my new favorite MLBB lipstick. Very happy to hear that you know of this holiday! ?
I love Dead Roses too! Yup – from my bff.
Haul: Much to my chagrin my Sephora order from the points sale has yet to make it here as it just shipped yesterday. Some lovely persons pointed out the KvD shade and light quads on sale so I got the Plum and the Smoke. I’m really quite light in the collection on matte shadows so this will fill a major hole for me with colors I like. I might get the Naked 2 basics too just so I have some more. Much father down the road. I really need to put in an amazon order for some household stuff but I always buy more Korean stuff every time. I think I might pull the trigger on the S:UM Secret Essence and a few others I’ve been salivating over. I LOVE anything essence and toner related so I’m like a moth to a flame.
Weekend: I actually did do all my activities last weekend. I was wrecked. I’m still wrecked, plus we’re looking for a rental and work is nuts. I think this weekend needs to be LOW KEY. Just the basics. Shopping, lots of coffee and comfort food. I need to take the puppies somewhere for some fun and then maybe I can rest, lol.
Holiday: CHRISTMAS! Unfortunately for quite a few years we’ve been too poor to get a tree or presents but holy hell I love it all. Decorating, baking, cooking, shopping, buying, wrapping, music, and family time.
I hope you get your order soon, Erin!! Waiting is hard!
Good luck finding a rental 🙂
I hope you get your wish for a quieter weekend Erin and good luck with finding a rental.
Haul: Trying out Sephora brand stuff: Contour blush palette, Gel Serum concealers in Custard & Madeleine, & 5th Avenue eyeliner; Elf Beautifully Bare powder in Light/Medium; Ulta’s NYX Happy Birthday palette. I thought I’d get more stuff for my birthday but nobody was really having sales ;P
Weekend plans: My husband’s police academy graduation was this morning, yay! We’re driving up to DE/PA to take care of house stuff and see family.
What is your favorite holiday?: I don’t think I have one. I think I just generally like the whole Thanksgiving/Christmas season 🙂
Also, I’m pretty sure my dog does the same thing Mellan does but because he gets annoyed with me ? Sometimes he moves his face away when I lean in to kiss him. I guess I can go overboard with affection ?
How do you like the Gel Serum concealers?
Congrats to your husband!!
Thank you!
I like them. When I have dry patches, the concealer kind of emphasizes them. It’s decently gives medium coverage. It’s a good everyday concealer 🙂
Happy birthday! Do you like the Nyx palette?
Thank you 🙂
I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. It’s my perfect palette size and colors I like to use, so it’s made me want to use eyeshadow more than I have lately. It’s not the best pigmentation or texture, but I still like it!
Haul: Not much! I got the new Wet n Wild Megaslim Skinny Mascara for my lower lashes and it’s fantastic. Zero clumps, zero transfer. It won’t volumize your lashes, but it will lengthen slightly and make them black. I use it top and bottom for a “no makeup” mascara look, or just on the bottom lashes with other mascaras. Wet n Wild has been really impressing me the last year or two, so I hope they’ll keep up the trend! I also got Sally Hansen Big Primer base coat because my Orly Bonder ran out (it wasn’t as great as I’d hoped) and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish in Disco Ball (a gorgeous glitterbomb of a nail polish).
Weekend Plans: Organizing myself for the semester. Classes start on Monday and I have a ton of emails to send, textbooks to buy, etc.
Favorite Holiday: Christmas Eve/Christmas! We’d go to dinner on Christmas Eve with my dad and open our gifts at the restaurant, then go to church for my favorite service of the year (by candlelight) before he’d drop us back at our mom’s house. On Christmas morning we’d then open gifts with our mom in our pajamas before having a pancake breakfast! We’d then play/read/nap/whatever for a few hours before going over to my now-stepdad’s house to have Christmas dinner with him and our now-stepsisters. We don’t really give a lot of gifts over the course of the year, usually a little trinket for birthdays and that’s it, so we can really go ham on Christmas gifts and spoil each other.
Good luck with your upcoming classes, Kat! 🙂
Haul:Desi x Katy Dose of Colors Fuego and Mirame highlighters,The Girls eyeshadow palette, and pencil brush.Morphe x Brittany Bear makeup 360 Nose Contour Set.Flower Beauty 3-in-1 Blending Sponge??Still have not received these but are on their way to me:Tarte Big Blush Book 3 and KKW Beauty Dark Contour Sticks and Light Powder Contour and Highlight set.I chose those 2 different shades because I saw Carli Bybel using the cream contour and she liked the Dark best so I figured since I’m close in skin tone to her it would be the best shade for me.I chose Light in the Powder Kit because I watched Nikki Tutorials,Gabriel Zamora,Nicol Concilio, and Tati’s videos on YouTube and came to the conclusion that the bronzer runs warm and the coolest toned contour is in the Light set and that is the shade I like for my contour so I hope they work out.I was not happy paying for shipping but I want to try the products out and form my own opinions of them. Weekend Plans:I have today off which is extremely unusual so I’m just catching up on thing I need to do and making appointments.I rented Alien:Covenant from Redbox and plan on watching that tonight and possibly going to The Cheescake Factory tomorrow night after work. My favorite holiday is Halloween.I love costumes, all the fun crazy makeup and all the haunted houses.I’ve always been into the paranormal so I think it would be awesome to go on a ghost tour in Gettysburg or go to West Virginia and do the Haunted Prison tour.We have a amusement park in Pittsburgh,PA called Kennywood Park and they do Haunted Kennywood every weekend starting sometime in September up until October 31st and we haven’t went to it yet but I’m planning on going this year so I’m really looking forward to that.I also love all the shows like American Horror Story,Walking Dead, and Ghost Adventures plus all the Friday the 13th and Halloween 1,2,3 etc. marathons that are on this time of year.
Let us know how you like the new powder palette from KKW, Dominique, once you’ve had a chance to play!
Haul: Colourpop’s Love A’Flare eyeshadow set and their Knockout cheek duo. This is my first eye and cheek purchase from them and I have to say I’m impressed. Knockout is gorgeous and eyeshadows are nice. I use my Artis brushes to apply the eyeshadows as I don’t like applying with my finger.
Weekend plans: waiting out Hurricane Harvey, we’re expected to get lots of rain and flooding.
Favorite holiday: I guess Christmas because I like the weather and watching Christmas movies but it is a very exhausting time for me.
Stay safe, Yvette!!
I hope you and your home survive the hurricane Yvette. It looks pretty bad.
Thinking of you, Yvette, and hoping all affected by the hurricane are safe.
It might take me 2 lifetimes to use it up, but love CP Knockout!
Mellan left because he did not want to feel as if he should supervise. You can really relax in the family room, but not in the office. Haul: Ulta is simply killing me, with the 20% and the 10x points. And now 21 days is about to start. I mentioned Shirley, now have added Le Palace and Area VLGs. Was embarrassed to get 2 Ulta pkgs this week. Like the seaweed gel scrub, but it’s pretty pricey for U, and a small jar. Mac desert rose blush. Finally dared try the Pacifica mascara, the navy and brown. Coconut makes my throat close, so I was leery. No reactions. Decent, esp for the price. Not five star, but my only 5 star at present is Heroine Make. Blood orange and lilac sprays. No top on those…an exposed sprayer. What’s up with that? Little Lorac Santa Monica palette. 2017 has been the year of the Lorac ho. Also managed to snag Yes, please. I tried it on Patticake as well as myself. Even Chauffeur didn’t show up, prob bec she is white/cinnamon piebald and dapple. She doesn’t love the attention and brushing the way my mal Petrushka did. No second make up dog, I guess. Did do a small cp order for last call. Forego sticky sweet? And the yellow liner to coordinate with yes, please? Nevah….. plans? Ssdw. Worked/cleaned all day today (next Fri will work 10 hours, real variable schedule) bec next week out with the 30 and 40 year old couches and in with the navy sunbrella. Determined to get in the ocean at least once. Holiday? Not having any family, they can be hard. Thanksgiving, I guess. I like turkey experimentation. And one of my former students always asks me to cook hers. Really? I pretend I took one of the invitations I refused, and tell her to give it to the homeless shelter. It’s my most passive aggressive act of the year. 45 years old and afraid to cook a turkey. It’s the easiest part of the meal, unless you decide to deep fry and explode your neighbor’s garage…. they put those stories on the news right before the HS football rivalry scores! Have a great w/e everyone.
How exciting that your new couches arrive next week, KJH!
How often do you wear the Velvet Lip Glide formula?
Haul: Wet n Wild — Midnight Mermaid collection box, Rainbow Highlighter, Royal Calyx highlighter; Medusa’s Make-up sub box (loving the Metal AF liquid lip in Cherry Pie); Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet (Father of Zombies); Sugarpill Loose Eyeshadow in Ghosted.
Betsey Johnson — Two necklaces and two pairs of earrings, 35% off the clearance price sale.
Weekend plans: Nothing special
What is your favorite holiday?: Christmas. I love the decorations and the lights. Halloween is a close second, though. I love spooky stuff and making costumes and doing special makeup.
How are you liking the new Wet ‘n’ Wild collection?
So far, I’m loving it. The highlighter is outstanding. The liquid lipsticks are gorgeous and comfortable. The eye -liners and -shadows swatch gorgeous, but I have not tried them on my eyes yet. It will be interesting to see whether the beautiful glittery shadows crease on me.
A gorgeous photo of Mellon – a typical male, lying on the couch fast asleep.
Haul:
My two Elizabeth Arden lipsticks arrived – Iced Coffee and Perfect Bronze – which are way better than I thought they would be. Long lasting and quite hydrating on the lips.
La Roche Posay serum to try.
Amie – an English cruelty free brand exfoliating scrub (no microbeads) – which is excellent. It’s a niche brand and the product leaves my skin very soft and smooth.
Weekend plans: Saturday – visiting my twin sister who has been ill again. Her diabetes medication has activated her diverticulitis and she has been in a lot of pain. She has been prescribed medication to soothe her stomach down and has changed diabetes medication – but she is just waiting for it all to kick in.
Sunday – having all the family around for dinner.
Favourite holiday: It would be Easter – as there are a few holiday here (we get Good Friday and Easter Monday off) and the weather is ususally much cooler.
I like Christmas too – especially with the grand children – but it is so hectic and can sometimes be extremely hot. Last year it was 40Celcius on Christmas day…….
Oh no, so sorry to hear your twin sister is in sick. Hoping the new meds kick in soon!
Thanks Katherine, the new medication is starting to work, but she is so bored at being stuck at home.
Haul: From Sephora.
Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip
Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder deluxe sample – 0.04 oz/ 1.4 g
Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lip in Crimson Chrome, Mauve Wife and Rose B4 Bros sampiler.
Urban Decay Moondust Palette
A Sunny Soiree Sample Bag
Weekend plans: IMATS Toronto on Saturday, also some fabric shopping while I’m in Toronto. Back to work on Sunday.
What is your favorite holiday?: Halloween still, even though I don’t do as much on the actual day. ;p
Haul: Nothing this week. I’ve been enjoying my stash. Upon seeing some fall/winter/holiday releases, I’m trying to be selective when it comes to makeup purchases over the coming months.
Weekend Plans: Cleaning and organizing my bathroom cabinet, taking care of some paperwork, and maybe watch the Packers NFL pre-season game.
Favourite holiday: This is a tough one. I like Christmas as we go home and celebrate with our family and friends but I also like Thanksgiving because we celebrate it twice! We have a nice meal in October for Canadian Thanksgiving (a celebration of the harvest) and another in November for US Thanksgiving, where we enjoy the football, parades, shopping and shows that kickoff the holiday season.
Haul: Estee Lauder foundation and some skin care items. Nars Bor de plage palette and kolh liner in Altiplano. Marc Jacobs eyeshadow palette in Provocatoure.
Weekend plans: Nothing special, other than eating and cooking 🙂

That Ulta $0.52 order, though! ? Gotta love it!
I’m assuming the feral rescues are kitties? ??
Oh and I realized I actually got almost $2 cash back on that $0.52 order so basically they paid me!
Yes, kitties 🙂 Feeling like I’m getting over-run with them! LOL
I received my Empathy by Coloured Rain. While ok…it wasn’t a dupe for my beloved Lancome nude circa 1995. I swatched side by side, my Lancome is a bit more of a pinker shift slightly as where the CR is a brown shift..I wouldn’t be so stuck on the Lancome but it’s honestly the only nude I have ever loved…some people can’t move on lol…but I have had the same fave eyeliner since ’90 so…lol. haha.
Also received Crimson Chrome by Smashbox….hot dang what a lippie! Winner all the way..whoa momma:). Go ahead and buy this…just sayin haha.
Have you looked at the new Essence Nude Longlasting Lipstick in Cool Nude yet? My Ulta stocks the brand and if yours does, you can see if it’s a match. I bought it, and while it’s cheap, the quality is actually decent.
Oh wow – just looked at Crimson Chrome – looks gorgeous! Just saved it to my favs for a next purchase. Thanks for the recommendation!
I haven’t seen it but I am not sure it would work..really have not much luck with nudes…
Yeah, chrome is awesome..I found it while lookin for a dupe of I forget what…then I wanted that instead of what I was originally lookin for lol:)
