Free for Haul Friday, Volume #348
Share any beauty goodies you may have picked up in the last week or so, or maybe what’s on your way or on your wish list for next week or month. 🙂
- Haul: Tom Ford Orchid Soleil, Laura Mercier Eye Caviar Palette, Giorgio Armani Eye Tints
- Weekend plans: The usual — grocery shopping, brunch with Shaun, write reviews!
- Do you like traveling?: I totally don’t! I think the idea is semi-appealing in theory, but I am a total home-body! I just don’t have that strong urge to explore or travel to places unknown. When it comes to the idea of vacation to relax, I find it’s better for me to have more regular ways that I can take a moment to enjoy working hard, like a massage or a nice dinner out. It’s more my speed, and I think it helps me from burning out. It’s possible that for me, traveling or going somewhere just means I work 16-hour days for as many days as I’m gone, so it’s super stressful just to go away, lol!

Weekend plans: Girls weekend getaway to Annapolis (one of my fav weekend quick trips).
Do you like traveling?: Ironically, despite my weekend plans, I rarely go anywhere. I would LOVE to travel more. I enjoy seeing new places and experiencing new things. And I’m absolutely curious about everything.
Wow! 30% off Beauty.com? That’s a crazy good deal!!
Pound some crabs with Old Bay for me! If you aren’t currently blogging, be interested to hear how Jessica Alba’s product is ( quite the scandalous woman she became….) and the Pacifica, that usually isn’t highly endorsed here.
Will do! Still have the blog suspended. I do post swatches on my social media account – @binxcat4ever. You’re also welcome to send me a fr on Facebook at: facebook/binx.cat.100. Current profile pic is a shot form the new Ab Fab movie. I will try to remember to return here and let you know after my short vacay/after I’ve tested them… I can tell you both products swatched exceptionally well.
Haul: some Inglot shadows and Duraline while I was in NYC (the Canadian dollar is so low that shopping in the US is painful)
Weekend plans: have to get back to yoga (I think the pains I’ve been having in my hips and thighs are from not going to yoga regularly); my older son is home so we’ll probably do some stuff he wants to do
Do you like travelling: I’m also a home-body but I do love to travel, though with all the regulations, I find it stressful since I prefer travelling with just carry on luggage for shorter trips so it’s hard to take all my “must haves”. There are so many places in the world and in my own vast country that I want to see, though, and now that our kids are no longer little and we’re cat-less and dog-less, we’re free to travel pretty much on a whim (the nature of my job means I can take time off whenever and hubs can usually clear his calendar with a few weeks’ notice unless there is a trial booked). We’re going back to NYC at the end of the month so we can have another visit with our younger son (I went with a friend last week and the hubs was “home alone” so this time, he’s getting to go too)
Duraline! Yes! I feel like that’s a real tool to have in the arsenal.
Yeah, but remember it is basically isododecane, and can be bought generically for way cheaper.
Most of my shopping for material and makeup is in the USD as well because I can’t get this stuff in Canada…. The pain is real.
I finally picked up Kat Von D Lolita II, and it’s everything I ever wanted <3
Also grabbed the new Maybelline Liquid Color Tattoos. I like them a lot, but they're a little tricky when it comes to blending.
And, in an online swap, got the Hakuhodo J5533. So excited to use it!
Yay! I’m so glad that Lolita II is living up to the hype for ya!
Haul: nothing, trying to do a no-buy this July…thankfully nothing is really appealing to me at the moment anyway
Weekend Plans: spending time with my family and relaxing…been pretty exhausted this week and not getting enough sleep either (mostly cause I can’t stop binge watching certain tv shows)
Do you like traveling? I absolutely love traveling! I don’t get to travel as much as I’d like to but I do plan about one to two trips every year to a new destination, currently planning a trip right now! I’m pretty familiar with the East Coast but I haven’t been to the West Coast much so planning a few trips to California and Washington for this year 😀
Good luck on your no-buy, Jennifer! How long are you going for?
Just for the month of July lol
You got this!!
Thanks Christine! 🙂 hope everyone has a great weekend!
Haul: Anastasia Modern Romance Palette, Sumdipped Glow Kit, summer mini glosses set, and illuminater in Riviera. I also picked up Too Faved La Creme in Honeybear (love), Real Techniques Expert Fave Brush and Blush Brush, Lorac’s orinal Unzipped Palette, Becca Luminous blush in Foxglove, UD 24/7 lipliners in Bang, and UD vice lipsticks in TMI, Sheer Anarchy (love), Zealot, and Wonderland. Most of these purchases were with my 20% discount at Ulta so I am very happy with the money I saved.
Weekend plans: Same old gym, reading, listening to alternative blog radio programs, and cooking. I am finishing up Americanah this weekend and am looking forward to starting a new novel. Time also to say goodbye to June’s CD (Kill the One You Love, GEMS) and pop in Jessy Lanza’s new cd, Oh No. (my July pick).
Travel: I traveled all over the United States in my teen years and loved it, but now that I am older I am much more a homebody. Traveling is exhausting and my body doesn’t do well when I am out of my regular environment and routine.
Ooh, you got the Anastasia gloss set!! Hope you enjoy. Honeybear is such a cool shade – it’s wearable but the pearly shimmer gives it more oomph.
Awww, Mellan looks so content 🙂
*Ulta 20% off sale- Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette ( wow), Tarte Metallic shadows in Scarlet, Shakedown, Whiskey, Speakeasy, and Hussy (Very impressed, super pigmented and buttery smooth. After 20% off+ cash back+ Ulta reward dollars, I got them for about $7 each. All of the shades will go great with the Anastasia palette, but especially Scarlet a plummy red brown) UD Vice Lipstick in Liquid ( the perfect plummy brown red, love), Tarte Glossy Lip Paint in Slay ( perfect muted orchid purple shade), Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm, Sun Bum SPF 30 Sunscreen, Yes to Coconut Hydrating Eye Balm, Tony Moly Panda So Cool Eye Stick (too cute) , Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Soap, Burts Bees Mama Bee Nourishing Body Oil
*Beautylish – Wayne Goss Airbrush, wow, soooo soft! glad I got 2 of them
*NYX – Ultimate Brights Shadow Palette – surprisingly decent considering these are all matte brights and matte pastels, some of the hardest shadows on earth to get right, a total bargain at $18 for 16 shadows. Lots of fun, unique colors to play with, it’s LE
*Sephora – Bobbi Brown Sunset Glow (love ! my first pink highlighter, the gold shimmer goes well with my yellow undertones), Sephora shadow in Night Owl, Verb Ghost Hair Oil ( very impressed, even lighter than B&B Invisible Hair Dressers Oil), deluxe sample of Marula Daily Moisture Mist Leave In Conditioner, Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Blot Paper compact
*Weekend – kid’s been sick, nothing serious and she’s recovering, but she couldn’t go to daycare, so we’ve been mostly stuck at home last weekend and this week, but will try to get some fresh air this weekend
*Travelling – we did a good amount of travelling when we were younger, but with a small kid, we don’t go anywhere too far now. Will wait until she’s older, maybe do a cruise to start, since that’s an easy, low stress vacation
Aw, your poor kid! I hope she is feeling better now, or at least the fresh air helps her 🙂
Thanks Christine! She’s definitely getting better, hoping to get her back into daycare by early next week. At least, I had boxes of makeup goodies coming all week to keep me going 🙂
Nice haul! I’m still on the fence about the Anastasia palette. Maybe I’ll hope for another good promo! I LOVE the Ghost Oil! I was worried bc I have fine hair but it doesn’t weigh it down at all. Hope your little one feels better soon!
Yesss! I was going to recommend the Verb Ghost Hair Oil to you, since you were looking for a lightweight oil. I’ve been testing for last 2 days, and it might be HG. Has been super foggy and misty, like pea soup, and so much mist is coming down it’s like rain, have to use wipers when driving. Normally, my straight hair would fall flat as a pancake, the ends would split, and the rest would frizz up or fly away, but it’s holding up beautifully, and works well on both damp and dry hair, without weighing my hair down. I even added a tiny amount to my roots to tame frizz and flyaways, and I NEVER add oil there because the roots get oily, but it doesn’t weigh hair down, just seals in the shine and blocks out the humidity. And it’s much cheaper than the B&B Invisible Oil. In love! The Anastasia palette does run warm, but it’s beautiful, maybe you can swatch in store to see if it will work for you.
Thanks for the tip on Verb, you guys. Will get a decant @S. The ABH @ my Ulta is displayed on a pedestal, just below eye level, so effective, museum piece. Nice to be able to hold out, for a change. Might just get MUFE morello cherry in a trio, bec most of the neutrals are duped. Very nice to have them all in one place. That one succeeds where the kvd fails, at being both carefully conceived and constructed.
Hey Christine! Hey Mellan 🙂
I haven’t posted in a while but I have hauled a few things this week.
Haul: Clinique Even Better foundation. I was looking for a light coverage foundation with spf for daily wear as it is SO hot in Mississippi. I was browsing around a counter and came across it. It was relatively inexpensive for a department store brand ($27) and had a good shade selection. I chose the shade Pecan which seems to be a good match for my dark neutral complexion. Hopefully it will work out 🙂 I also picked up the Modern Renaissance palette. SUCH A BEAUTY. For concealer, I got the Urban Decay Naked Skin in Dark Golden for highlighting. I already have Dark Neutral for my hyper pigmentation. Let’s see. I also ordered the Bioderma Hydrobio Serum and a few last minute home fragrances from the Bath and Body Works Semi Annual Sale. Looking forward to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale next week. I have my eye on a couple of items!
Weekend Plans: Decluttering and re-organzing my bathroom. I did my closet last week and it is amazing how much relief I felt from doing so. Time to do the same for my beauty products.
Do you like traveling?: I love to travel. I try to do at least two trips per year. They are not always lavish vacations but any little getaway from the day to day is traveling to me! I have gotten a chance to do a week long beach trip to several beaches in Florida last month and plan to do a fall trip to Charleston, SC and/or New Orleans to visit friends.
Hope you’re doing well, Elle Jaye! 🙂
Fingers crossed about the new foundation. It can be tough to find one that will work, particularly in higher heat!
Ha! I look at my dogs eyelashes too. I have a Pug so her eyelashes are black just like the black mask that is around her face;)
Awww!! Cute!
Christine, are you reviewing the new eye tints?
Hi Alli,
I don’t like to commit to review until I actually review, so while I only purchase products with the intent to review, there are many that I don’t end up reviewing. So I will try but may not.
Fair enough! I bought some on your original recommendation cause of the good reviews and I ADORE them, so I hope you’ll get to these! ?
Thank you for understanding <3
My ABH Modern Renaissance Palette just arrived and other recent purchases were 3 Jouer liquid lipsticks which I LOVE, the mini beauty blender for concealer, Lorac Unzipped palette with all of those gold shades that are right up my alley (but I’m not used to how powdery they are)…. I also got all of the Color Jolts from Maybelline (obsessed) as well as their strobe sticks but not sure that part counts because it was PR. 🙂 I still have crazy long wish list that never seems to decrease haha!
Do you have any tips for the Jouer liquid lipsticks? They crack quite a bit on me from the few I’ve tried.
Really??? I’m sooo surprised because it’s so comfortable for me! I guess it just goes to show that things work so differently on each person. Are your lips dry? I use a good balm every night. Have you tried using a balm before applying it?
No, my lips aren’t dry! I don’t personally use balm before applying lip products, since I’m testing them 99% of the time!
ok then I’m just baffled lol. I don’t have that at all so no idea! I use a thin layer? But it’s not like you don’t know how to apply a liquid lipstick lol, I’m not concerned you’re using it wrong haha. Do you like Jeffree Star because I feel like the formulas feel similar on me although Jefree’s is a tiny bit more drying on me.
Haven’t tried that one!
No worries, I just thought I’d ask 😀 Thank you for trying!
Haul: Laura Geller 50% off goodies came yesterday (baked gelato blush, bronzing primer, sculpting lipstick and the new primer spray).
Weekend plans: Maybe go see a movie and I have a waxing appointment (ugh!).
Do you like traveling?: I find it to be stressful. I need to get out and see more of the world since I’ve seen so little of it but I just hate all the prep and the craziness once I return. I always feel like I need a vacay from my vacay.
YAY! Happy to hear you were able to partake in that massive LG sale, Kimm!
Haul: Took advantage of Zoya’s buy 3 get 3 sale and got polishes in Pippa, Aster, Shawn, Tru, Natty and Normani, all so pretty!
Weekend plans: Catching up on Game of Thrones and taking my dog to the dog park.
Travel: I love to travel, whether it is a weekend trip somewhere nearby or a multi-week trip overseas, it is fantastic.
Nice picks, Shea! Zoya makes great polish.
Haul:
I think I figured out the summer foundation conundrum for me. Becca Backlight Priming Filter and Perfect Skin Mineral Powder Foundation in Tan. Please, please, please let this work! I really am tired of one foundation after another just pouring off my face this summer. So far, I think it looks super smooth and flattering. This is only day two, so I’ll have to see if it holds up over time. (My love/hate with Becca continues.)
Weekend plans:
Time with the pups on long walks, good long lap swims in the outdoors, errands, house cleaning, and vacation planning.
Do you like traveling?:
I am basically a homebody–I love being home, I love my routine. But now that I’m an empty nester I am really enjoying some travel. We’ll be going to Paris in about three weeks — our second time there. I’m an art lover, so I’ll be back at the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay, and every cathedral I can find for hours on end. We’ll also take a side trip to see the cathedral at Chartres. It is one of the (if not THE) most beautiful cities in the world, and everywhere you look can take your breath away.
YAY! Congrats on figuring out a good go-to summer foundation routine. Fingers + paws crossed for ya that it keeps working out well 🙂
And the Jeu de Paume, Palais de Chaillot, modern….. You could visit Paris for just the art alone! Don’t forget a true ice cream parlor, with silver bowls and flatware, and the crispy cookies stuck in. I pretend that one at home. Stay safe.
HAUL: Nothing 🙁 . I held back on the Bobbi Brown highlighters even though I really wanted them. I’m hoping they will turn up permanent eventually (like the previous ones did) but if not, oh well. But as always, something new came along to divert my attention: the Anastasia Moonchild palette. If that makes it to Nordstrom or Sephora, I will order it.
WEEKEND: Blue Apron meals, lunch date with friends, probably should re-watch season 1 of Mr. Robot before the new premiere.
TRAVELING: I do like traveling and exploring new places. Whether it’s a day trip or foreign country. And I truly do like an on-the-go vacation packed morning to night with activities. For what it costs to fly, etc, I better see as much as I can. It can be stressful, though. I hate flying (I’m not afraid to fly but just the rigmarole of security lines and slow moving crowds) and I can get very sick with jet lag.
I hope they are permanent! I will say they were a little coy/confusing because it almost sounded like they are in limited edition *packaging* and not LE, but I really have no idea. I tried to get info from BB directly but no luck!
Sounds like there’s a chance then! 🙂
Haul: Lots of KVD because it just launched in my country, Singapore! It was mostly filling out a few gaps in my collection. KVD Lovesick, Susperia, Bauhau5 and Mother. I might pass on Mother to my mum, because the colour’s right up her alley and y’know – what a fitting name LOL. GWP was a Mini KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper (finally! I’ve been lemming this for ages, will definitely try it once my Stila Stay All Day runs out). Nyx Fireball single shadow. I’m quite excited for this as well, it’s been on my wishlist for a while.
Weekend plans: Nothing!
Do you like traveling?: Depends on the intensity of it. I’m not into backpacking. There’s just too much ‘unknown’ involved.
I can’t imagine backpacking! It seems really cool, but like you, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be my thing, lol!
I couldn’t think of anything worse than backpacking! Not my thing at all.
Haul: Nicka K True Matte lipstick in Jazzberry Jam, NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Copenhagen, Transylvania and Monte Carlo, LA Girl Pro concealer in Orange.
Weekend plans: I want to dig out some old nail polishes I never swatched and take some photos for the blog. Can you believe I never swatched and photographed Chanel Peridot and Taboo? I bought them years ago.
Do you like traveling?: Yes! It can be a hassle to pack and lug around my clothes and other things, but I love seeing new sights and my anthropologist background feeds my desire to see ancient sites.
I have never heard of the brand Nicka K before! Is this the first time you’ve purchased from them?
They’re a discount/beauty supply store brand. The price range is similar to Wet n Wild’s. They sell $1 lipsticks and lots of basic items like eyeliner, blush, etc. I’ve mostly bought their lip products in the past. As Nancy T mentioned, they have stepped up their game and are now offering more advanced products. You should Google some beauty supply stores in your area and try to find a display. You can also try to find their products online. 🙂
Ahhh, gotcha! 🙂 Thank you!
Nicka K! Yes, I got one of their HD Eyeshadows in #3021 several years ago from a store that is no longer around, a shimmering black that makes for a lovely smokey shade, especially over a smudged cream type eyeliner!
Haul: I picked up 2 of Marcelle’s Eye Shadow Quads.
Weekend plans: More knocking on doors…… electronically.
Do you like travelling?: I like it if you’re not under a time crunch. I like seeing new things but if I’m stressed because I’m late I can’t enjoy any of it and new landmarks become confusing to me. lol
lol, electronic knocking on doors! What a world we live in!
Yeah, it’s amazing how fast things change, 5 years ago if you sent only a resume and portfolio online they thought you were lazy. NOW it’s expected and if you show up physically knocking at doors you might be ignored completely OR what you drop off might be thrown out by the receptionist. lol
Haul: nothing! It was time for a break, lol. Wore Vice lipstick Firebird for the first time yesterday — blotted it down a bit because it was a minimal makeup day — and really love it, it’s such a happy color, and such a good color on me. Also loving the Colorescience Sunforgettable Loose Mineral Powder Brush SPF 30. I’m so far using it as a sunscreen topper/renewer on hands, arms, decollete. It’s so fast and convenient! No greasy mess. No waiting 15-20 minutes for it to work. I think my skin is getting more sun-sensitive because even my toes are turning pink with just a few minutes’ exposure to the sun. I’m going to have to start applying sunscreen to my feet every morning, in addition to face, ears, neck, decollete, arms, hands…
I’m considering getting a device called a SpectrolineUV-5D Degerm-Inator Portable Ultraviolet Sanitizer, which is a mini, portable UV-light sanitizer, for sanitizing my cosmetics. I feel really hyper about making sure products in my pro kit are truly sanitary, and it seems like this, if used as directed, would keep powders sanitary without spraying them with alcohol/BeautySoClean, which only goes so far in eliminating germs and could cause product to break down over time. It should also sanitize the surface of cream products — even though I’m scooping them out with a spatula instead of my fingers, it’s not like the spatula is sterile, it’s just sanitized. Since it would keep products fresher longer, it should pay for itself in time. Has anyone else used something like it? I’d wear UV-protective glasses and gloves while using it.
Weekend plans: I completely collapsed for a couple of weeks after taking my licensing exam, just coming out of it now. My big plan is to start cooking some again, so my son doesn’t have to cook every night.
Travel: I love to explore new, different places. Unfortunately, the effort and expense of getting there is just too much for me any more. So I read a lot, and travel in my imagination 🙂
How do you like the Vice formula so far, Fran?
Very interesting to hear about the device – I will have to google it, because it sounds really neat!
I’m liking the Vice formula a lot, although I still wish they hadn’t discontinued the Revolution formula. I really can’t figure out why they reformulated just a couple of years after coming out with such a successful line. The only thing I can figure is that they wanted their lipsticks to be the exact same price point as MAC.
Anyway, my fears that the formula might run at the corners of my mouth, like the UD x Gwen Stefani ones did, have not come to pass so far. So far the shades I have have been un-fussy to apply, comfortable to wear, and last for hours unless I eat/drink something. I don’t expect my regular lipsticks to be transfer-proof, so I’m quite satisfied.
The device I mentioned is available from amazon.
Thank you for the tip that it is on Amazon! 🙂 That will help, haha!
Yes, I felt like it was odd to reformulate. I can see why they wanted to condense it under one NAME, but still, a little strange.
Haul: Finally received the BY TERRY Sun Designer Palette, N°2 Light & Tan Vibes from Beauty.com! I ordered this back during the 20% off sale! It took so long, I kept considering canceling it and ordering it from Beautylish, but the 20% off was a good deal…
The new Armani matte eye tints and Louboutin Lip Lacquer (in Rouge Louboutin) also came in so I’m going to go pick them up today!
Finally, got all of the new Buxom metallic eyeshadows (except Bronze which was sold out). I wore Rose Gold yesterday, and it is gorgeous!
Weekend plans: Not sure – relaxing, maybe go swimming.
Do you like traveling?: Yes, I love it. My husband likes to go places but he does not like the act of traveling. I like it all. Except road trips aren’t my favorite because I get carsick. Although after several days away from home, I do start missing my cats.
I think it’s pretty cool that they honored 20% on a backorder, though!
I want to hear your thoughts on the Louboutin Lip Lacquer!!
Haul: I am waiting for some Morphe brushes to come in. I took advantage of their close out sale. Also purchased Mario Badescu Aloe/Rose facial spray, Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lip Crème in Pink Chocolate and Tainted Love #62 in rollerball.
Weekend Plans: Had planned to go up the mountain to pick Huckleberries but it is pouring rain here in Western Montana so not going to do that. We might even get some snow at the higher elevations. So, I will probably stay in and catch up on my cleaning and reading. Going on another trip to Seattle to see Adele in a couple of weeks so need to figure out what to wear and don’t want to over pack this time.
How I feel about traveling! I think I could happily spend my life traveling. If only I were wealthy enough. The hotel life is the life for me. Maids to clean your room, fresh linens, room service, a nice pool and all in the city of your choice. I really love traveling and wish I had gone more places when I was younger but of course, you don’t always have the money to travel when you are young and just starting out. I am trying to see all the places I really have longed to see over the next couple of years.
Big fan of Mario Badescu! Very streamlined skincare that usually works for me 🙂
Hope you get a break in the rain, but I bet it’s real pretty after a good rain!
Haul: Nothing so far, but 2 of my 3 pixi items showed up along with my blender. I also got some clothes last weekend I forgot to mention.
Weekend: More plans of sleep! Probably a little video gaming and grocery shopping.
Do I like traveling?: Is the pope catholic? Jeez, as much as I love being at home, I love traveling. I need to be going and doing and seeing. It’s vital for me to challenge myself and see/learn/interact with new things. I’ve only been to a handful of other countries and I’d love to live abroad again. Once wasn’t enough for me. Thats the wonderful thing about living in Europe, you can take a weekend trip to anywhere else in the continent and never feel too out of your comfort zone for too long!
As for dog lashes, my god has lashes like a mascara commercial! so black and thick!
Have you had a chance to try the new Pixi products yet?
Haul: bath and body products from etsy
Weekend plans: nieces bday party
Do I like to travel?: Yes and no. I love being there but HATE packing because I have so much to pack.
Christine, the items on my wishlist aren’t showing up. Do I just need to be more patient?
They should show up immediately! Did you get a confirmation message if you added individually? (Should say Added ____.”) or a checkmark will appear next to a shade if you added multiple shades at once. I will look into it!
I’m not seeing anything added this month – do you remember a couple items you tried to add? We’ll try to recreate the steps and see if we can find an error.
Thank you!
I haven’t added anything in a while but pre update I had 88 items on my wishlist. It shows that I have 88 items on the list but when I go into it I get a error saying that its empty
Basically the update wiped out my wishlist even though it says the items are still there
Are you letting the page load? The page makes a query to the database to retrieve all of the items in your vanity/wishlist, and once it does, it should show your list! 🙂 I am seeing 88 listed and 5 pages of items!
Whatever you did it worked! Thank you!
Didn’t do a thing, lol! Maybe the site was having a sluggish moment there. I am glad it is working now 🙂
Have fun at your niece’s birthday party! 🙂
Haul: I ordered both new ABH Glow Kits. I ended up getting Sun Dipped a few weeks ago, too… I give up, I’m gonna get them all! They could release a shades of green version and I’d probably buy it.
Weekend plans: SIL’s wedding! We’ve been on our little tour de NorCal, it has been great!
Do you like traveling? Yes!! Especially personal vacation trips, but I actually don’t even mind traveling for work. I love seeing new places, eating new foods, etc. Love it.
LOL! They will be like Pokemon for you!
I’m gonna catch ’em all! ?
Julia, you and are are in the same boat: I was trying to put an end to my Anastasia highlighter obsession and the they released the two new palettes yesterday. I ordered mine just a couple hours ago. I will have to get a drawer for my Anastasia highlighters only, since it appears I will be buying every single one that comes out!
Haul: ABH Modern Renaissance Palette (love!) and Too Faced Totally Cute Palette (love except for the awful I <3 TF color). Dollar Tree — Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color in Kremesicle Kitty and The Stand Out ; Wet n Wild Fergie On Edge Longwearing Eye Pencil in HyperSky; e.l.f. Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Smoky Sea; and e.l.f. Shimmer Lip Gloss in Believe.
Weekend plans: Nothing special.
Do you like traveling?: I love traveling, but I rarely get to do much.
The ABH palette is great! Glad you are enjoying it 🙂
Guess i don’t count dollar tree hauls, bec it’s my night job. But I scored a bunch of FERGIE remainders too (not to mention saved $426 vs Walmart on culturelle immune defense, more than a year’s worth. THAT was psychworthy. ). Got a bunch of fat lip pencils, the Rio highlighty bronzer (coppery, delicious, and huge), a concealer and that HG primer Nancy et al rave about. Only other haul item was Thistle, bec it was in stock when I had to return a house e/s that has been misplaced behind the one I wanted. Buyer beware on that stuff. It happened 3 more times! Omg, they just throw stuff back anywhere, seriously.
Our local Dollar Trees rarely get makeup other than LA Colors and some other ulber-cheapie brands. I love it when I can snag some Milani, Wet n Wild, e.l.f., and other good drug store brands.
Haul: I got Clarins blue lotus oil and Clarins tonic water and then I got a GWP with that. Clarins GWP are Always quite big Products so it was good. I also got a Biotherm cleansing cream. Was going to get Clarins but the Biotherm was 400 ml and less price than the Clarins which was 200 ml.
Then I also got KVD Backstage bambi liquid lipstick. Never tried any make up from KVD before. Plus I got Nars tinted moisturizer (5th repurchase of this!) and a setting gel for eyebrows from Benefit.
Weekend plans: Sleep and netflix.
Do you like travelling? Love it. I also like travelling alone. People I meet freak out that I go out in the world on my own but that way I can do what I want. Already planning trip for next year. Going to Berlin.
Lots of new skincare this week, Anna! Are any of those things repurchases?
Yeah the lotus oil is second time repurchase. Before that I used to buy the one for dry skin but I find this one better in the summer. Probably 4th time repurchase with the tonic water. I am very fond of Clarins skincare so I buy when GWP. Biotherm first time though but I am happy with it and it was cheap.
For once, I don’t have any beauty items on order or in my weekend list. I just received 6 polishes from ILNP, so that should hold me over. As much as I want all the Bobbi Brown and ABH highlighters, I have to control myself. (Um…and I just bought a bunch of planner stickers, too. “Control” is relative.)
I enjoy experiencing other places, but I’m not good with long drives. I think 30 minutes on the freeway is more than necessary! And I don’t have the funds to fly anywhere. I also have pretty serious anxiety about germs. The horror stories about hotels make me not want to stay away from home. I have to clean everything myself and I never sleep well because I can’t wash the sheets myself. (I know it sounds crazy, but I really do get incredibly anxious about it.)
Oh, no! It sounds like traveling causes you quite a bit of stress 🙁
It definitely can the first night or two. After I have time to clean what I feel needs cleaned, I get better. It’s like I have to make a little clean nest for myself first! (Although I still don’t sleep so well.) But I do enjoy being in a different place and seeing new things. And I love the beach–despite the millions of germs! 😉 Maybe I find the beach so relaxing, it calms my anxiety about the germs? Lol
It is not crazy at all. There are special lightweight sleeping bags designed for this. I think you can launder these in special solutions to keep the bedbugs at bay. My brother used to stay in hostels while backpacking in Europe and he toted that sleeping bag everywhere. Go to REI and they will help you.
Haul: Nothing! It’s good, I feel like I’ve gotten a bunch of stuff lately and haven’t had a chance to use even the things I really liked.
Weekend plans: Nothing! #blessed
Do you like traveling?: I love traveling! I’ve been to 21 countries and am planning a trip to Eastern Europe for the fall. (This is back to visit the country where I served in the Peace Corps and I am really excited. I haven’t been back since I finished my service eight years ago. Times flies!)
Yay for no haul! It’s always good to enjoy what you have 🙂
Haul: nothing this week!
Weekend plans: still car hunting to replace the car that broke down a few weeks ago. It’s really stressful… I find it very difficult to spend a large amount of money without any guarantee that a vehicle will last without needing repair. I wish car dealers had the same return policies as Nordstrom, lol!
Traveling: I absolutely love traveling, and if I won the lottery, that’s what I’d spend my time doing. I’ve lived on 3 continents, and I could see myself moving to yet another country in the future. I’m not much of a backpacker though: I need a minimum of comfort to enjoy my trips, so hostel dorms are not for me. I also can’t deal with tropical climate, I just feel horrible in the heat and humidity, so I much prefer to visit Europe or North America rather than lie on a tropical beach. The places I’ve visited that I’ve loved the most were Istanbul (I eventually lived there for 5 years), Rome, Ireland, New York, Kauai. Next trip is New Orleans in October for a long weekend!
All big purchases are tough 🙁 Fingers crossed you can find the right vehicle for you guys and that it will be reliable!
I am not a heat fan myself. The thought of lying on a tropical beach doesn’t do anything for me at all. I like exploring countries with cooler climates.
Haul: picked up a bunch of skin care and body care over the 4th of July weekend from Ulta plus Eyeko liquid liner (so far I’m in love)
Weekend plans: Nothing too crazy. Taking a time out that is much needed
Do you like traveling?: Wanderlust is a real problem for me. If I don’t take a day trip at least once a month, I feel like I’m going stir crazy. For me traveling is about the experience, the food, and just learning about myself. It’s what has pushed me outside of my comfort zone in more ways than not.
Enjoy a restful weekend, Monica!
I love how relaxed and mellow Mellan looks here! Yes, he has *true* blonde lashes! My one kitty, Clarissa, has snow white lashes because she is an almost all white cat, giving her a space alien look to her huge green eyes, LoL!
Haul: UD Vice Lipstick in Wildfire, and waiting for what feels like forever to receive my Colourpop order! I have Lunch Money and Sticky Sweet highlighters, Telepathy and Truth eyeshadows, Zulu eyeliner, and 2 free mini glosses in Weho and Tokyo Tea coming my way. Plus, my Ipsy Bag shipped too. Really hoping that Wildfire doesn’t look horrid on me in natural, non-Sephora lighting. Lightest, brightest orange I’ve ever bought!
Weekend plans: Do my hair. I was supposed to touch up my roots this past week, but got far too busy with a zillion other things, so I may do that today or tomorrow. Thinking of making some yummy homemade chicken enchiladas this weekend, too.
Do you like to travel: I do. And I don’t. Weird, huh? I hate flying with a passion! But I am thoroughly homesick for NJ/NYC, and want to go back to visit for a few weeks, scope out apartments back there, spend several days down at the Jersey shore, go in to the city, hang with all my old friends, eat REAL pizza and Chinese food, etc. So, yes, to familiar places. But visiting another country terrifies me! Basically, it’s the language barrier more than anything else. I mean, hey, I’m half Hispanic and only have a working vocabulary of perhaps 50-60 words in Spanish!
Haha! I bet she has a very ethereal look about her. Mellan has these occasional black hairs in his otherwise white/yellow coat, which is so bemusing!
Hopefully your CP order shows up soon, Nancy! They sometimes come fairly decently in time, but occasionally, the turnaround has been painfully long!
She does!!! But she is one extremely oddball cat! She lives for chasing the “red dot’, could care less for catnip, will lick Tiger Balm (for sore muscles) off of me whenever I need to use some, loves tea tree oil, too. Very sweet natured and tame, though!
As for CP, yep! I placed my order last Friday, and didn’t get a tracking # until TODAY? And I’ve never had such a long delay as this before. Dying to try Telepathy on my lids!
Edit to HAUL: Sephora FINALLY got Buxom Bronzed Bod and Rose Gold in, so I just ordered my 6-pan palette containing: Bronzed Bod, Rose Gold, It Crowd, Dusk Till Dawn, Twilight Tryst, and Room Service!
Oooh, that sounds like a beautiful mix for a Buxom shadow kit! Thanks for the heads up on ColourPop. I live in CA where ColourPop is, and they are usually pretty fast, about 3-5 days to get to me, and AZ isn’t too far either, but 1 week to just get a tracking #? Yikes. It sounds like they are way behind on the shipping from the July 4th weekend sale. And did you know they are going to start shipping internationally on July 12 to all countries, except for China and Turkey? Can you imagine the pandemonium, as all those orders start pouring in? Makeup lovers worldwide have been waiting years and years for this day, think they might break the internet!! Anyways, I put in a quick order today, in hopes of beating the rush, and while things are still in stock….
Yep, this whole delay with CP is highly irregular for them. I have always received my orders within 3-5 days here as well. Not so sure that CP can handle going international yet, though, if they cannot even get an order processed to go just one state away in a timely fashion!
Haul-Accidently bought a Cargo Beach Blush in Sunset Beach when I went to the drug store for TP. It was on sale and I love it enough I was tempted to by another.
Also picked up 2 Bourjois Rouge Edition lipsticks in shades 14 and 17, I walk by these products a few times a week and those were my first purchases. Very nice.
Plans-The usual housework, groceries, gardening, walk with friends and dogs. Life is good.
And I absolutely love to travel! My parents took me (and siblings with they were old enough) to Europe on several occasions when I was young. I’ve been a lot of places, but love to explore Canada. I live in such a beautiful country. That said, going to NYC in the fall with my mom and sister. First time for all of us.
At least the Cargo blush ended up working out well! 🙂
Got all those cargos. Don’t remember if C was Barney’s or Sephora, before the Ulta then Kohl’s days. They are actually classics.
I can see why. They are gorgeous in every aspect. I’ll pick up Echo Beach next sale.
Will you be doing a sneak peek of the Laura Mercier palette?
I don’t know, sorry!
I love that kind of affection – Mellan looks so comfy resting on Dad.

Weekend plans: Cleaning, visiting my mom on Saturday and brunch and a movie, maybe some shopping on Sunday.
Do you like traveling? Yes and No – road trips to obscure spots with my fiance or my girlfriends, yes. Flights to tourist traps or places known for tourism, no. Crowds are unsettling to me. I don’t go to “happening” spots or tourist places because to me it seems like people don’t know how to behave in public anymore. The one exception would be traveling to visit family because there’s an end in sight to all the hustle and bustle and crowds and chaos. Traveling just to see the sights, no. I go to Las Vegas once a year with my girlfriends but we spend half of our time in the room, playing makeup, getting ready, sharing a bottle of wine and just talking. We leave for a few hours but eventually it gets too crowded and busy and chaotic and we head back to the room.
What are some of your favorite obscure spots that you’ve been to, Pearl?
Off the top of my head there’s a few spots just outside of Sonoma in CA – they’re like these little quaint pockets of mountain living, there’s Healdsburg CA, of course Oatman AZ although that’s pretty busy these days, and some places where my sister lives in Virginia. Los Olivos. Los Alamos (in CA) and Santa Ynez are like places time forgot – we are actually heading there tomorrow to visit family. (I just realized most of these are centered around wine :-D)
Thank you 😀
Haul: Stopped in at Sephora yesterday to pick up more of what I’d finished (Sunday Riley Tidal, Bumble & Bumble Mousse and Blow Dry Repair) and couldn’t resist the Becca Luminous Blush in Tigerlily – it’s so beautiful! Also caved and finally grabbed the Champagne Pop highlighter, so pretty as well.
Weekend: working – boooo, lol, but also having friends over for dinner tomorrow night.
Travel: I really like the idea of travel, but not so much the reality. I guess I’m more of a homebody. 🙂
Tigerlily is such a nice shade for summer!
Haul: emergency surgery last Saturday. All is good but no shopping.
Weekend: Taking it easy. Next few weeks are full of birthday parties.
Travel: I like to think I do but I get too home sick. I’ve even lived in the same house for 37 years. I do read about travel.
Oh no! I am glad you’re doing better now but hope you have some rest this weekend, Susan!
Glad to hear the surgery went well, hope you recover soon!
So so much better now than before surgery, also getting spoiled. I’m not complaining. Thank you. ?
I hope your recovery is going well!
I’m glad your surgery went well. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks. I really love love you all!
Haul: NARS Belize lipgloss and Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in Bawse (gotta support my girl Lilly Singh!). I also got a promo code freebie deluxe sample size of Marc Jacobs Omega Bronzer in Tantric. The pan is about the size of a MAC eyeshadow, maybe a little bigger, and the packaging is the normal high quality Marc Jacobs packaging with a little mirror. I don’t know if the promo code for it still works, but if you’re getting stuff at Sephora online and are VIB or VIB Rouge, and spending $35 or more, try entering “VIBOMEGA” in the promo code section. Definitely worth it. There’s also a code for a deluxe sample size of Becca Opal pressed which is about the same size as the bronzer and in good sturdy packaging with a mirror, and the code for that was “INSTAGLOW” and I think you only had to spend $25 for that one. I THINK both codes are still active for another week or so.
Weekend Plans: Nada, as per usual. Keeping and eye on Mao, my cat, as he’s figured out how to open the screen door to our little patio area and I don’t want him jumping off the balcony or climbing onto the roof…
Do you like traveling?: I absolute LOVE it! It’s one of my favorite things. I haven’t been able to do any traveling, even day trips, for about 5 years though because of health stuff. Though I’ll hopefully soon-ish be going back down to the Bay Area (my home!) for the first time in 5 years to go have spinal surgery at UCSF (one of the top 3 places in the country for it!), assuming they find what I have to be operable. If not, I’ll probably be headed to Switzerland in the next year or so for alternative care options. But at least either way I’ll get to go somewhere else again!
I feel like the sample Bronzer from MJB seemed like a good sample for once, lol! At least it’s a decent size and of something pretty pricey.
Best wishes for you on your journey(s) for treatment – hopefully you’ll have some fun in the Bay Area as well!
Haul: Dior polish in Ultradior and Wonderland. Ultradior is more translucent/jelly than I thought. Nice fingernail color, but I’m a little hmmm on the toes.
Weekend: gardening, probably do lobster for dinner tomorrow night with the neighbors.
Travel: YES, but I hate the actual physical part of traveling (airplanes especially). I have a really tough time flying (something about the cabin pressure and dry air really throws me through a loop, never mind jet lag). Hubby and I did two weeks in France and Italy last summer and it was a trip for the books! We drove over 1,000 miles and saw and ate and drank everything!
Lobster! Ooh, I am jealous!
Another gorgeous pic of Mellon – so restful.
Haul: Nothing really, I am being a very good girl at the moment and waiting for some of those lovely blush palettes that you have been reviewing lately Christine to hit our shores.
Weekend Plans: I am going to stop predicting what I will do at the weekend because it always turns out differently! Last week we planned to go out for lunch with the family and we didn’t because our grand daughter was sick (very bad cold). However I am pretty sure that I am going for a drive up and around the mountains with afternoon tea and I will be seeing our grand children this weekend at some stage.
Like Travelling: Yes I do. I love going away for a weekend or planning a longer trip away. Like the US, Australia is a big country with lots of lovely places to explore.
But when I was working full time, travelling was such a hassle as I always had to work extra hard beforehand so I could get away. So I know where you are coming from Christine.
Nice job on holding off for the week, Genevieve! 🙂
hope your grand daughter is feeling better this weekend!
Haul: I just placed an order last night for Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer ( Bless you Temptalia Queen of Beauty lol) and Estée Lauder Maximum cover. I’m hoping to make one or the other work to conceal. To alleviate my depression over the injury that lead to me needing major coverage I gave myself permission to indulge my inner lipstick addict. I ordered KVD liquid lipstick in Lolita and Mother.
Weekend Plans: getting together with my fam to celebrate my cousins baby girls 1st bday.
Do you like traveling: I used to love it but my dislike of all the planning and preparation has won out. Luckily I live close to lakes, mountains, bays, the Pacific Ocean etc so I can vakay close to home.
Fingers crossed that works well for you, Bonnie! Let me know 🙂
Hang in there!
Mellan: if you put it on your Santa list, I’ll get you the Sephora lash stash for Xmas.
Travel: traveled when young, fortunately, including a 3 mo trip to Europe with my mother, Harvard Student’s Guide style. Also studied in Germany. Very out of practice, as I had four dogs through most of my middle age and the $1600+ for a week of boarding fees in addition to the travel fees made it too costly. Now, with seriously restricted means, and only one week off from one-half of my jobs in five years, travel just doesn’t happen. Cannot believe that you need a passport to go to Canada. I’d go twice a year for skiing, and my parents went in the summer. We’d do a family fishing trip in Aug, north, too. If I could travel, it would be the west coast (minimal Cal exposure, second to no car, in college.). Canadian Rockies, BC, and more Ariz/N Mex. The ‘larger world’ makes me a bit leery now. Prayers for Dallas, and the next one, bec. that problem is not going anywhere soon.
Ha, ha, ha!
You are very well-traveled, KJH! Favorite place you’ve traveled to?
This whole week has been totally heartbreaking 🙁
Prob Luzern, Switzerland. Klagenfurth, Aus. Locarno. Any place with mountains and a huge alpine lake. But was also fortunate, but too young at the time to appreciate, the classic train trip to Glacier, back when those national park huge hotels had frank Lloyd wright fixtures, etc. one of my NH patients had a video in a classic train series. Skiing in Quebec was regular, but holds special dad memories. He has been gone for 41 years, but embodied fun. Didn’t get that from him. I’m beginning to understand why people think I had an advantaged upbringing. Kids always think how they are brought up is ‘normal’ until they get exposed to other things. My grandparents went around the world; I have some mementos. Nowadays, major executives work 24/7/365…always hard to imagine being able to take extended time off. My long trip was between college and ‘the rest of life.’ Now, I haven’t taken a day trip in 5 years! Travel fun is now a ten minute drive to a tiny town beach that is not overpopulated by out of towners. Quiet, midweek, if I can get a limited parking space.. 8-10 spaces provides a fine, uncrowded experience. Toddlers and Grammies, not competing boom boxes. ( I live a short walk from the big public beach.). And I don’t get the whole makeup at the beach concept. Sunscreen only.
That’s such a good point that you bring up, KJH – what is normal to us may or may not be as normal as we think, but it takes time and experience to appreciate those nuances.
Happy to hear you’ve found a little piece of paradise (cheesy, I know) that’s nearby and provides you an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

ABH Moonchild highlight palette, Charlotte Tilbury Savage Rose liner, Night Crimson lipstick, Unleash Me lip gloss, Love Is The Drug blush, Vintage Vamp quad, Color Chameleon sticks in Bronzed Garnet & Amethyst Aphrodisiac, Maybelline Gone Greige lipstick, Tooth & Nail highlighters in Heavenly & Frigid, Milk Eye Pigments in Peep Show, Silent Disco & All Nighter, and the Eye Vinyl in Tunnel, Shiro Bear & Maiden Fair, Sixteen92 samples in Hellebore (definitely getting the full size of this!), I Saw Goody Proctor With the Devil, Baba Yaga, Bruise Violet, Shadow Show. Ghoulish Delights bathbombs in Your Mother Uses Bathbombs in Hell, Blood Bath, Pinhead’s Box & Bloodyface mask, Rituel de Fille eye soot in Viscera, lipsticks in Devil’s Claw, Hex, Oracle & Whitethorn. ABH Modern Renaissance palette, KVD liner in Trooper, Ellis Faas Glow Up in Porcelain, ABH Crush liquid lipstick, a tiny beauty blender, & Too Faced Born That Way in Snow. Anxiously awaiting the Black Moon Black Metal Trinity lipsticks next Friday!
Weekend plans: The regular Saturday cleaning and Sunday soupmaking/at home spa junk, rp & brush washing! FUN FUN. (And a random Sephora makeover for no reason at all.)
Do you like traveling?: Not at all! I have some pretty crippling agoraphobia. (But I like indoors a lot, so it’s not as bad as it could be!)
How do you like the Color Chameleon Sticks, Aeri? I think I bought some but haven’t tried them.
Modern Mandarin has such a great finish!
I’ve only used one so far (Garnet) and I really like it! It was very easy to blend for a quick look, and the colors are gorgeous. I didn’t have any issues with creasing but my lids are fairly dry even in Florida humidity.
It does! I love everything about that blush. 🙂
Haul – Sunday Riley Luna oil, some Pearl and Grern Tea Sephora sheet masks and sleeping masks, UD lipsticks in Rapture (sheer and cream) and lip liner in Rush, Benefit Gimme Brow, Tom Ford Extreme mascara and pencil and liner brushes and Glam Glow Supercleanse mask and cleanser. Everything else is waiting for Nordstrom’s sale.
Weekend Plans – hanging out with hubby and friends at a golf tournament and just relaxing.
Do I like to travel – that depends sometimes. For pleasure, definitely! I travel a lot for work, so it depends on where I’m headed and how crazy it’s going to be and how long I’ve been on the road. Overall, yes it’s fun. It’s gotten better with different jobs but it can get exhausting.
It seems like everyone loves themselves some Sunday Riley! Is the Luna oil a must-have in your routine, Lea?
Luna is definitely a must-have for me since discovering it. I had heard the raves from other bloggers, but what made me bite the bullet was one blogger who also had cystic acne issues and said Luna worked wonders without being too harsh. The raves are legit. I combine this with Dr Dennis Gross alpha-beta hydroxyl wipes followed by Luna and then Good Genes. I haven’t had any cystic breakouts in quite some time and my skin is better now than it was in my 20’s. I’m on my 4th bottle of it and can’t rave about it enough. It’s very well worth checking out if you have breakouts or texture on the skin. I tend to use a Korean-style skin-care regimen; lot of steps, serums, etc – but the products above are the anchor along with my clarisonic.
That is awesome to hear, Lea! I’m so happy for you that you found something to combat your cystic acne! I had some troublesome spots on my chin that would always be so, so painful 🙁 It sounds like I’ll skip it myself, since I only get the occasional pimple now, but I will definitely keep it in mind should that change!
Honestly, the retinol in it is a great addition to your routine – acne or no. The results are amazing in refining pores and improving skin overall.
I’m already using Differin, so I don’t know if I’d want to add more to my routine right now! Do you have any RX retinoid in your routine?
I have Fifferin for occasional breakouts, but I find the Luna to be more balanced and leave my skin less dry in patches.
Gotcha! Differin works really well for me, and I’ve been using it for five years? possibly longer. The first time I tried it, I did it twice daily (per doc’s orders), which was really hard to do, but I talked to my doctor and we adjusted to once at night but to start off with every other day and build up to nightly. Between that and a topical antibiotic, all my acne cleared up (milia, cystic). I don’t get dryness now from the Differin, thankfully!
That should have read Differin.
Haul: Just got my Ulta order today…the one with the fun lipsticks!
I tried all of them on and like most of them, but I’m still not sure if I will ever muster up the courage to leave the house in the green shade (NYX Risque from the Wicked Lippies?) or NYX Liquid Suede in Stone Fox, which apparently pulls blue on me.
My one disappointment was NYX Matte Lip Cream in Havana. It streaked like crazy and performed nothing like the other three shades of this product I have. Even at this price point I can’t overlook streaky messes on my lips!
Weekend plans: Dinner at my parents’ house tomorrow night and relaxation.
Traveling: I like it and don’t get to do it nearly enough anymore. ?
Maybe if you wear them around the house long enough, you’ll wear them out 😀
Mellan looks relaxed and content. 🙂
Haul: MJ Air Blush – Kink & Kisses; Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector – Pearl; WNW blush – Mellow Wine; NYC Waterproof Eyeshadow (it’s not waterproof!) – Wall Street Bronze; NYX finishing spray; KVD Serpentina palette (which I haven’t touched yet, kind of want to go swatch it in store before making a decision)
Weekend plans: We rarely have anything planned, but my husband and I have ended up eating at various cafes/restaurants almost every Saturday for the past month or so.
Do you like traveling?: Sometimes. My ability to enjoy traveling is directly proportional to the amount of stress I’m experiencing. I know I will be spending a few days away from home next month, under very stressful circumstances, and I’m trying to plan a few activities to distract myself that might help ease the anxiety. I also overpack because the greater the number of familiar things I have around me, the calmer I become. When I say over-pack, I mean taking five bags for a two-night stay at a resort located ten minutes from home. :-/
It’s rare that he isn’t, haha!
I look forward to hearing how you like the MJB blush, Cat! The only thing that keeps me from overpacking usually is that I refuse to check in bags so I have to fit everything in a carry-on as a result, lol!
Good luck finding some things you can do/take with you to distract you during your next trip away from home!
Haul: I’ve decided to keep buying to minimum, so just a couple travel-sized things for upcoming trips: a mini Loreal Infallible setting spray, Sally Hansen airbrush legs, a couple sheet masks from the Yes To brand, and a really cute pineapple print cosmetic bag that will be the perfect size for my travel skincare.
Weekend plans: My boyfriend’s parents are in town this weekend, so we are going to a movie and we’ll be having dinner with them and my parents– they’ll be meeting for the first time.
Traveling: I do enjoy traveling but I sometimes find it stressful because I am an over-planner. Any upcoming trip takes up “brainspace” for me for weeks in advance– hence why I bought travel stuff early this week for a trip that doesn’t start until next Thursday! But once I’m at my destination, I almost always enjoy the trip. Most of my trips are for scholastic publications conferences and short trips to North Carolina beaches, and I have a couple of each scheduled this summer.
Ooh, what a momentous occasion – the meeting of the parents! I hope it goes well, Dianne 🙂
