Free for Haul Friday, Volume #312
Welcome to Free For Haul Friday!
- Haul: Tom Ford Lipsticks, Becca Champagne Glow palette
- Weekend plans: Edit photos, write posts!! I am so behind.
- Do your like festivals?: I must say, I’ve never been to one I wanted to go back to, but I haven’t gone to many.
Share your pet photos to the Temptalia Pets flickr group! 🙂
Haul: Becca Champagne Glow palette as well.
Weekend plans: Try again to film a tutorial.
Do your like festivals?: Never been to one either. I’d probably enjoy them though.
Hope you can get some filming time in!
I’m trying to film the look for my channel but also enter a photo contest with the end look. lol
Haul: Becca and Jaclyn Hill Champagne Glow Palette…I’m super excited!
Weekend plans: Sorority Fundraiser Gala and brunch with the girls
Do your like festivals?: I love them! The food is usually amazing!
Yayy!! Hope you like the new palette.
Hi Mellan! Nice belly, fur dude. 😀
Haha!
Awww, I hope Mellan is having some sweet dreams 🙂
*Haul- (20% off Sephora F&F +7% cash back) Josie Maran Hydrating Mist, Sephora Matte Gel Eyeliners, Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Stick (Vanilla), Kat Von D Lipstick (Lolita), Dior Fusion Mono Shadow in Blazing, Shiseido Shimmering Cream Shadow (Nightfall -blue) Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation (got sample and it was amazing!), MUFE Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick #15 (purple), Belif Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist, Supergoop City Sunscreen Serum SPF30, Kat Von D Lock-It-Featherweight Primer, Bobbie Brown Lipstick (Your Majesty), empty MUFE Artist shadow compacts
*Weekend Plans – more sales!! Ulta sent me 20% Platinum Perk coupon and Sephora 20% VIB Rouge sale is coming up. Good thing my makeup organizers from The Container Store came, ’cause I have to purge and organize my stash to make room for more stuff !
*Festivals – I like local street festivals for food and art
Oh, and Halloween! Going trick-or-treat at local mall with my toddler, then handing out candy at home
Very nice haul, Katherine! What have you been enjoying the most so far?
The Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Coverage Foundation Concentrate is AMAZING!!! I got a sample, and I’m now buying the full size. It’s full coverage, but doesn’t look cakey or feel heavy, and it lasts all day and night long. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles, but it seems to take 10 years off my face, because it covers almost all my sunspots, hyperpigmentation, pores. The finish is a soft matte, it really gives an airbrushed, photo-shopped look. My only problem is finding a shade, as the light shades run really light, then it jumps to some shades that are too dark. I got 2 samples, tested for 2 weeks, and think I found a shade that works, but it was sold out, so I’m trying the next shade up.
You got the KVD primer! Yeah! I’m using the oil primer from Hourglass now that I am drier at the moment. But, that one is good!
I’m having the same issue with the sales. But, Nordstrom threw their hat in the ring too and I used that Ulta coupon. They burn a whole in my pocket!
I’ll have to try the MJB foundation. Do you have any opinion on any f the serum foundations like the Dior Nude air. Been wanting to check it out and keep forgetting!
Have fun trick or treating!
Nicole, yes I got the KVD primer for winter! Compared to other parts of the country, it doesn’t get super cold here in CA, but it does get very windy and dry where I live, and the office A/C is craaazy strong , so my +40 yr old skin gets dried out fast. It’s coming in the mail tomorrow. Oh, the Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation drives me crazy because every review I’ve read (about 12 or more) raves nonstop about it, but it has alcohol near top of the list, and fragrance in middle, so that will dry out and irritate my sensitive skin. The MJB serum foundation has alcohol too, but it’s near the bottom of the list. I tested for 2 weeks, and had no problems with it. It also has a lot of moisturizing ingredients – ‘cones, jojoba esters, sunflower seed wax, hydrogenated lecithin, but it didn’t feel heavy at all, and it layered very nicely over my fave moisturizing sunscreen, Supergoop CitySerum SPF30. If you’re interested, you can get samples at Sephora to try out. It is full coverage, so finding a good shade is important, but you can sheer it down to medium with a damp beauty blender. At $55 a bottle, I’m just hoping I don’t have to mix 2 shades (eeeek!)
Thanks Katherine. I was maybe going to get a bottle of Armani Luminous silk at the sale. But, I need to layer a couple of layers of that in areas. I’m trying to head to the mall to get a shade tomorrow. So, maybe I’ll run into Sephora to try out the MJB too. I’ll have to make the choice quick though. Have you tried the Armani before? If so, any comparison opinion?
I’ve also read many great reviews on the Armani Luminous Silk foundation and have always wanted to try, but never got around to it. Shopping for foundation is like shopping for swimwear -no fun. It does have fragrance, but closer to bottom of ingredient list. Maybe you can have an SA do a Sephora Color IQ and find a shade that matches. If you do try it, let me know how you like it. I’m curious
You know I will gladly give you an update! 🙂
Dang it, I wish I would have waited until the VIB sale!!! I feel sooo stupid! *face palms and hangs head*
Mac Huggable lipstick x1 UD lipstick x1
No plans if whether is good maybe the park with the boys or see a movie.
I have not been to a festival.
The photo of Mellan is priceless. xoxo for Mellan from me and the boys. Have a great weekend Christine.
Which UD lipstick did you get, Lily?
UD Rev. lipstick in Liar.
Haul: Absolutely nothing…yet. I am planning on getting a few things at Ulta tomorrow with my 20% off coupon (before it expires) and my points. I am saving up for a big buy on 11/6 with the Sephora 20% off.
Weekend plans: Help my daughter work on her house renovations (also part of the reason for no haul this week.) Turns out we had to rip out her entire kitchen of the new house and it needs to be rewired, replumbed, new cabinets, new appliances, etc. Broke/split my nails so will need to cut them off and toss a coat of something on them – may really be a scary Halloween mani! I also have a haircut scheduled for Saturday.
Do your like festivals?: The only festival I can recall attending is OzFest. It was a number of years ago and Korn and Marilyn Manson were there as well. It was an amazing time! I would like to attend other festivals and probably will in the future.
Oh my goodness — a total kitchen remodel That is intense!
It is the stuff nightmares are made of 🙂 Hope you’re loving your new place!
Mellan looks so comfy! I love his plaid collar.
Haul: I got the new MUG mattes (ugh, haven’t even gotten them in a mail yet and I’m sort of dreading it) as well as some of the duochromes and three of their eye shadow brushes.
Weekend plans: My mom’s having a Halloween party that I get to help with. Not much else, really. I can’t wait until this party is over.
Do your like festivals?: No. I don’t like the crowding. Although I have always wondered what it would be like to go to a Renaissance fair. Does that count as a festival?
That’s one of my favorite collars!
Here’s hoping you like MUG mattes more than I 😉
Haul: Peter Thomas Roth Just Mask It mini-set
Weekend plans: On Halloween I’m doing a volunteer shift for Ballet Arizona. The rest of the weekend will be devoted to homework, unfortunately.
Festivals: Not really, but there’s a number I’ve always wanted to attend anyway. I’m not a fan of crowds, excessive sun exposure, Port-a-Johns, or gouging, but I’ve always been envious of friends’ Coachella stories.
Gouging is always fun at festivals/fairs. I remember spending like $80 on tickets and then $60 on food at a local festival, and I was so irritated at how much upcharging they did!
Haul: Colourpop eyeshadows in: Plaid, Mixtape, Stereo, Straight Trippin’, Party Time, Supermodel and Hanky Panky. For the record, it was so refreshing to get 7 amazing quality eye shadows for under $40. I cannot explain how excited I am, haha
Weekend plans: No idea yet
Do your like festivals?: They can be really fun!
Woohoo!!! ColourPop has been nailing it!
I use Batiste dry shampoo (to answer your question from last week)
Haul: I decided not to haul anything because I made last minute plans to go to Charlotte NC next weekend
Weekend plans: Going to an Instagram meet up by @ctvisit and @neivy. It’s going to be fun. I love his nature photos.
Do your like festivals?: Not any that’s in CT. I used to go to one upstate NY apple picking that I loved.
Batiste <3
Mellan looks pretty chill there. Looks good right about now!
Haul:Becca champagne Glow Palette, From The MAC holiday collection I got all of the pressed pigments, the 2 mineralized skin finishes, Evening Rendezvous, Darkside, Nightmoth lip liner, and the Petrol blue liner. From Tom Ford: The cream shadow, both colored mascaras, and the eye liner( the eyeliner is gorgeous!) : From Chanel’s Vamp attitude: I ordered All of it! But, only half has arrived as of yet. I couldn’t resist with this one. I got it from Nordstrom and the SA let me hold the ultra black mascara for Le Volume for mascara madness. So, if it’s not the quality I expect, I can return it. I love the collection. Certainly my favorite thus far of the holiday season if we talk about an entire collection! I ordered Becca blushes in Gypsy and Damselfly and Charlotte Tilbury brow pencil and a couple other things late in the week . Skincare: Dermadoctor Kakadu serum, Lamer cream, Nude cleansing jelly, Amore Pacific eye treatment essence, Trish McEvoy peel kit. That is so much! I pan slow down my Holiday shopping to me next week after the sales (Nordstom and Sephora -OMG!) , Nars pre sale and mascara madness. Time to shop for others! 🙂 My makeup is so unorganized because I have bought so much. But, I’m happy with all of it! I will keep on my skincare which is always coming at me! Hey Christine, but do you know of what brands have yet to release Holiday collections?
Weekend Plans: Halloween party tomorrow for kids at my sister’s! So, I will be taking my daughter. We go trick or treating and the adults hang out and let the kids do their thing. I’m helping to set up and doing the grocery shopping tonight to help out!
Do I like music festivals? I’m 39 years old. I don’t go to music festivals now. I’m sure it would be a blast. I loved concerts when I was in my 20’s.
Oh my gosh- I forgot! I got the other MAC X Quo Pei quad in night Sky. I’m blaming it on fellow reader Katherine T.! lol. It’s so beautiful though. I’m really happy did buy it.
Oh, and I blame you for MAC Guo Pei Morning Light !! LOL Glad you are enjoying Night Sky! I did a beautiful smoky blue eye with it in like 5-10 minutes, the quality is awesome. Morning Light is fast becoming one of my favorite palettes. Whenever I wear it, my eyes look like autumn leaves turning color, just amazing. I thought it was going to be way too yellowy and warm for me, but nope – so glad you told me to give it a try 🙂
Gosh, I think just about everyone has done a holiday something rather… well, mainstream at least. Maybe not Le Metier de Beaute? They tend to be really late. Makeup Geek may or may not do anything for the holidays. Tom Ford’s color collection with the cream eyeshadow apparently is the holiday color (seemed like a waterproof mascara collection, lol).
Great! Thanks Christine!
Haul: Blackbird Cosmetics Ruca and Fiction shadows. Giorgio Armani #2 Lust Red eyes to kill shadow. Mary Kay CC cream and eye makeup remover. A shirt and leggings from Sovrin (her leggings are the most comfortable things to wear while traveling!)
Weekend plans: we have friends from MN coming to visit, so we’re going downtown, having a Halloween party, and going to the Bears/Vikings game.
Do you like festivals? Sometimes. Crowds can get overwhelming for me.
I’ve heard so many good things about Blackbird eyeshadows!
● Haul:
◈ Guerlain ‘Terracotta Princess Powder’ Bronzer
❝I personally have an “Epic Makeup” list of products that are VHTF (very hard to find), and this was one of them. I am beyond happy. I still can’t believe I found it.❞
◈ MAC ‘Magic of the Night’ In Extra Dimension Skinfinish in “Oh, Darling” & “Shaft of Gold”
◈ Lorac TANtilzer Baked Bronzer
◈ black|Up Pouder Sublime in PS06
◈ Looxi Beauty Custom 11-Eyeshadow Palette
● Weekend plans:
◈ Catch a mouse that got into my apartment. ? I’m freaking out! My Halloween horror started early.
● Do your like festivals?:
◈ I sure do. They can be a lot of fun. Every year, in my state or the next state over, a Food Truck Festival is held, and it’s just a wonderful, yummy goodness, extravaganza! It’s my favorite festival to attend. However, the only thing I dislike about a festival is if the weather doesn’t cooperate, since most events take place outside.
Food Truck festival sounds fun! But it is true that weather has to cooperate, haha.
OMG, mouse in the house??!
Haul: Charlotte Tilbury’s Nocturnal Cat Eyes To Hypnotize set in The Huntress.
Weekend plans: an outdoor movie screening on Saturday for Halloween.
Do you like festivals? I do, but I haven’t been to very many!
How is the new Charlotte Tilbury set, Lulle? I just got them today but haven’t had a chance to photograph.
Haul: My first advent calendar, can you believe it?? 🙂 From L’Occitane.
Weekend plans: The Nespresso Gourmet Weeks have just started, so tomorrow Le Hubby and I are going to have lunch at a fancy restaurant, yippee.
Do your like festivals?: I used to. Now I think they’re too busy and dirty. I’m getting old.
How fun!
How was the fancy lunch?
I want a Mellan!!! So cute
Haul- some new inglot shadows picked up at the inglot store here in Vegas last night! All of Bite’s mix and mingle mini lipsticks and Kevin Aucoin’s contour book 2! My first KA product, I’m excited!
Weekend plans – chillin with the boys, and a soccer game for the oldest, passing out something other than candy to trick or treaters with the 5 y.o.! 😉
Festivals – love them. I never go to any big music ones anymore, since having the boys, but I used to go to many. Love concerts! Still go to those on date nights but we just go to like food festivals and Renaissance fairs with the kids.
Nice! How are the new Inglot eyeshadows?
That Mellan pic made me giggle. He’s just a big puppy, isn’t he? 🙂
Haul: Nyx Liquid Suede Creams in Vintage and Pink Lust. Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipsticks, but the red one arrived completely smashed, so I have to exchange it in store. Hard Candy Super Mod Eye Palette in Nudes N’ Roses and My Bright Life.
Weekend plans: We’re so far behind. We still need to decorate for Halloween and buy candy for the Trick-or-Treaters tomorrow! My younger son’s friend is coming over, so they’ll probably play video games. I can’t give out the candy because I have to stay off my foot, so my older son will be doing that. We’ll be watching Tim Burton movies with me on Netflix. Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride and the The Nightmare Before Christmas are all favorites of ours.
Do your like festivals?: I haven’t been to many, and never a music festival. Outdoor venues aren’t my favorites.
Pretty much. The way he acts would never tell you he’s eighty ears old.
Hope you had a good Halloween! We usually watch Nightmare Before Christmas!
Haul: well, I nearly bought Nars Never Too Late….but I didn’t. And I almost bought UD Vice4….but I didn’t. I was very iffy about both of these and may still go back to get them but….I did manage to snaggle WnW Reserve Your Cabana (not an easy feat in Canada) and I also got MUFE I550/Olive Grey, which I’d been wanting for a while. I wanted to get another Buxom Build Your Own palette but they’re out of every single colour I wanted at Sephora. I hope they restock at some point!
Weekend plans: catch up on sleep (I’ve been having to wear a contraption at night for Plantar Fasciitis and it is really disturbing my sleep); go to the gym and do some cooking!
Festivals: I’m not wild about crowds so wouldn’t really like some of the big ones with lots of people and lineups but I do like some, especially cultural ones and especially if we’re away travelling and catch a local festival like the Fallas in Valencia.
You are showing quite a bit of restraint this holiday season, Mariella! I’m glad you were able to get Reserve Your Cabana, though. And I’m sure your wallet is happy enough 😉
Haul: Should have been nothing but I got stressed about various health procedures coming up and was near the main mall in my area so damage happened. I went in to Lush to pick up my evening cleanser (Let The Good Times Roll) and picked up a small bottle of Rose Jam shower gel as well. THEN I went by Sephora and picked up the Marc Jacobs The Sofia Holiday Lip Set and a pack of 3 mini PTR masks (the Just Mask It set). THEN I went through Nordstrom on my way out and picked up the Jo Malone London Cologne Collection Set (5 smaller ones in Lime Basil & Mandarin, Pomegranate Noir, English Pear & Freesia, Peony & Blush Suede, and Wood Sage & Sea Salt) along with a half a dozen other samples she just threw in for me which is fantastic. I went by the Chanel counter mainly to get a sample of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle EDP and also got two of the Illusion d’Ombre cream eyeshadows in 95 Mirage and 857 Rouge Noir (LE). Ow my wallet by yaay my mental health.
Weekend plans: Hair appointment, prep for my spinal injection on Monday (ACK)
Do your like festivals?: I’ve never been to one, but I think it would depend on the festival. I like the outdoors, but I’m not huge on crowds (or cultural appropriation) so it could be a toss up.
Our thoughts are with you, Anne, and hope all of your upcoming health procedures go well! 🙂
Hall: Ciate London Olivia Palermo Smouldering Eye palette, Velveteen lipstick and Napa valley nail polish, It cosmetics and Heavenly Luxe foundation brush, British Beauty Blogger Box IV and Naturisimo Winter beauty kit.
Plans for the weekend: Going to a outlet shopping centre with my fiancé, his mum, her aunt and our daughter, maybe going to the zoo as well. Then dressing up our daughter for a Halloween pic on Facebook with a pumpkin next to her ? lol.
I’ve only been to a festival once but it rained the whole weekend and went down to 5℃ at night. I shared a tent with a friend and we fell out and I came down with a chest infection afterwards! I’m not camping EVER again!
P.s. clarification: It cosmetics CC cream Your Skin But Better & foundation brush
Yay for IT Cosmetics brushes!!
Haul: The Body Shop Cool & Creamy Tea Tree something cleanser, and their Tea Tree BB cream. Lumene Longwear Blur Foundation. NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair. Too Faced Melted lipstick in Melted Peony. I don’t really like the Melted lipstick though, it only lasted a few hours and did this thing where it gathers on the inside of the lips… Maybe I got a bad batch but that has happened too often lately 🙁 The Lumene foundation is amazing though so I’m happy with my haul over all!
Weekend plans: I have an 8 hour car ride home tomorrow! But other than that I’m going to enjoy and relax the last two day of my fall break.
Do you like festivals?: Hmm I’m not sure. I did go to one of Sweden’s largest festivals last year but there’s so much people, and that alone makes me so exhausted! But for the music it can be worth it.
Have you tried any of the darker shades? I find Melted’s shades in the darker ones are the most consistent across readers (in terms of wear/reviews).
No this was the first one I’ve tried and I really want to like it! I’ve worn it a couple of times, and it has definitly been better since. When I first got it the product I squeezed out at first was separated… Maybe it was for the first application as well?
Oh, if it is separated, that will definitely make it more prone to performing poorly, since it is too much of the emollient part and not enough pigment 🙁
I have to admit Free For Haul Friday is my favorite post of each week because of the photos of Mellan.
lol! 😀
Love the Mellan pic!
Haul: Makeup Geek matte e/s in Vintage, Morocco, Enchanted Forest, Cherry Cola and gel liner in Immortal. Also 5 Colourpop eyeliners, ultra matte lipstick in More Better and lippie stix in Bichette
Weekend plans: run a 5k tomorrow and work on Sunday
Festivals: I don’t really go to them actually but I’m sure they’re nice!
Can’t wait for you to get all your new ColourPop goodies! I need more reviews!
How comfortable Mellon looks on the couch! A lovely doggie.
Weekend plans: cleaning up, lots of ironing and a Sunday lunch to celebrate my husband’s retirement – we were going to have this at home, but decided to go out instead. Thank goodness!
Festivals – no, I haven’t really been to one. I find that they are often in summer and it is way too hot for me. I am not a fan of the heat at all.
Hope you had a nice weekend, Genevieve!
Haul: I had to get some makeup for my halloween costume. I’m going as Maleficent and ordinarily I don’t contour so I got some eyeshadows from the sephora house brand to use as contour and highlight shades (cashmere coat and swan song), as well as a mini eyeliner from their brand and an urban decay mascara. Unrelated to the costume, I also bought three nyx soft matte lip creams a few days ago (monte carlo, copenhagen, and transylvania)
Plans: get dressed up, do halloween-y stuff
Festivals: what kind of festivals are we talking about? music festivals can be fun if you like the bands that are playing. art festivals with like local vendors and stuff are cool too
How did your costume go, T? What a cool choice 🙂
OMG haha.. my cat loves sleeping like that too. They could totally be nap buddies <3
Haul: no makeup this wk but did treat myself to an indie polish thermal mystery pack, some indie wax for my wax melter & new curling and flat iron.
Wkend Plans: Get a little crazy with some grlfrnds & try not to get into too much trouble, lol.
Do you like festivals: Love them!!! Great music, alcohol, the ability to walk arnd & be outside in an open space, all with fellow enthusiasts. What's not to love!!! <3 🙂
Awww! 🙂
Hope the mystery pack is fun!
Haul: MAC Please Me, Dark Side, Pillow Talk lipsticks and Everyone’s Darling Eye shadow.
Weekend plans: Halloween Party tomorrow and errands Sunday, thank goodness for clocks going back an hr!
Do your like festivals?: If we’re talking music festivals yes, but boy are they exhausting!
Nice MAC haul, Vanessa!
Oh my goodness, I don’t know how that can be a comfy sleeping position!!! LoL ?
Haul: Just bought the Anastasia Self-Made Palette, Sephora Contour Matte eyeliner in All Black Everything, Sephora Ultrashine Lip Gel in Pomegranate Delirium, Jack Black Natural Mint Lip Balm, and a huge bottle of Matrix Biolage Moringa Oil Exquisite Oil Shampoo. Pre-saled MAC Shaft Of Gold!!! Woohoo!
Weekend plans: do hair, nails, and straighten up my kitchen! Perhaps try to get a new jacket. Winter is coming.
Do you like festivals: It has been well over 40 years since I’ve been to one, it was sort of fun? But it was part of a school day-trip. I wouldn’t mind something festival-ish, like Medieval or Star Wars themed!
I’m so glad you’ll be getting Shaft of Gold!
Think I’m hauling a 2 y.o. Pomeranian tomorrow! Jussi has been an only child for a year now. Hope it goes well. It helps to be known as a ho 4 dogs. His name is Simba…a tiny lion king. Jussi sleeps like that, but it’s not as dramatic in a Dachshund. Yay krauty doggies! Hauled a big Paula’s Choice order today. Received the Bite set.. Not very me, but Jussi chewed my Aubergine, and they’re doable, 2 are just fairly bland. Good quality, though. I’m not a midrange girl. The UD pencil set: goes well w/ the MJ 20. & some UD Perversion Xmas presents.
Work @ night job.. and do some online CEUs, if the printer and the dogs, yes, plural again, will cooperate.
Festivals? Too old now. Used to like Cajun festivals.
Say what! How exciting!! Will you keep the name (Simba)? Did you get him? ;D
Haul: Picked up some of the Covergirl Star Wars collection – the purple lipstick and the silver one. The latter is terrible by itself, but it’s fun as a layering product. (Let the sold out displays I’ve seen everywhere stand proof that the whole “girls don’t like geek stuff” is a load of bunk. If you make the products that appeal to a female market, we will buy them.)
Also got sucked into buying NARS Stud eyeshadow from the Steven Klein collectionand Chanel Rouge Noir lipstick when I went into Nordstroms. Almost walked out with the cheek duo from the NARS collection, too – that gold highlighter is just gorgeous.
Weekend plans: Write that polisci paper I totally put off for weeks until right before it was due.
Do you like festivals?: Pittsburgh has the Three Rivers Arts Festival, which is pretty nice if a tad out of my pay range since, y’know, most of the stands are actually professional artists.
I looked for the Star Wars stuff but never saw it in stores, lol! It sold out quickly where I was.
Mellan!!! Ha, ha, ha!! That’s so cute!
Haul: The Balm’s Down Boy blush, two empty 12 pan palettes (moved shadows from Z-pallets into something more organized), some eyeshadows and highlighters from Looxi Cosmetics, more Shiseido Facial Cotton, Dr Bronner’s soap with tea tree oil (that doesn’t clean my foundation sponges!), and a new BeautyBlender solid cleanser (to clean my foundation sponges!).
Weekend plans: My weekend will begin with an exciting trip to the lab to have some blood drawn. Ugh. Later tomorrow, my husband and I are planning to have dinner alone… and Macy’s is so close to where we’re going to eat that I might as well slip in there for a bit to make sure their cosmetics department is still intact… =) I had cortisone injections in my spine last Friday so it will be my first outing in weeks that doesn’t include seeing a doctor. (Now watch, I’ll run into one of my doctors while we’re out!)
Do your like festivals?: I’ve only been to one festival that I can remember. It was a French Festival in Santa Barbara but, honestly, there wasn’t much to indicate anything related to France. It was nice, though, and I’d consider going again.
The Dr. Bronner’s soap with tea tree oil doesn’t clean your foundation sponges?! Oh no!
Hope you enjoyed your first outing 🙂
Nope, Dr Bronner’s didn’t work. I tried, and tried, and tried again to no avail. =( That’s okay, I will still use it for my brushes… and to spray the roses out front to keep the aphids at bay! =)
Getting out was great! There were people of all ages at the mall who were dressed in costumes. The SA who was helping me in Macy’s (while looking at ABH items) was dressed as a nerdy schoolgirl. She was one of the friendliest and most helpful SAs I’ve ever met. A true enabler! LOL
That is so crazy!! I use the baby version of Dr. Bronners, and it works well on the beautyblender I have but have to dilute it a fair amount or else dye bleeds.
It may be safe to say that Mellan has settled in.
Haul: Becca Champagne Glow Palette, Chanel Rouge Double Intensite in Light Rose (40), and I’m on a waiting list to buy Chanel’s Signe Particulier Quadra Eyeshadow (and at a F&F discount). The department store is awaiting stock and only had 1 quad for display and 1 tester on hand. The quad is stunning and I had a super MUA show me how to use the shades for an easy (for me) daytime look. The colors and texture are beautiful. The velvet purple is a striking as a lower lash liner. I was swooning the minute i saw this palette.
Weekend Plans: My spouse and I have are recovering from colds, so we’ll be consuming lots of soup, catching up on shows, and maybe putting on the fireplace for the first time this season. Cozy weekend.
Festivals: These days, I tend to favor small fairs to festivals. It’s been years since I’ve been to a festival and it was not the size to have the up-selling that you mentioned, Christine.
Haha! It could be.
Great haul, Tracey! How are you liking the Chanel quad?
Oh no Mellan is so cute ???
Haul: Guerlain’s classic Jicky and I’m still waiting for the ABH Tamanna palette
Weekend plans: Pack up, clean up and move! So happy.
Do your like festivals?: oh yes!
How are you enjoying Jicky?
He’s so funny :))
I am doing homework and I will attend the make-up fest tomorrow. I may buy smth there.
What a coincidence about festivals. Depends on what. I don’t like very crowded places, but I like make-up ones. Concerts and stuff, not really, I’m scared of all those people pushing into eachother, especially after the tragedy that happened last night over here, in Bucharest, where 27 people burned alive and 180 were injured at a free concert in a shady location with shady owners that bought the cheapest and most dangerous materials to build the “club” (and damn, it’s in our city’s centre). Rest in peace.
How was the make-up fest? What goes on there? 😀
Oh no! That is so sad. I hope they can prevent future tragedies like that 🙁
Haul : lorac unzipped and some other essentials
Plans – yesterday ( friday) I went to a concert, today ( saturday) going to a funeral and then maybe hanging out with my cousins. At some point I need to drop these pants off to a tailor and I need to clean.
Festivals- I can take or leave them
YAY! Unzipped is a great palette!
Haul: Nothing yet but I’m compiling a massive Sephora cart as we speak.
Weekend: I had lots of plans that have all been scrapped due to an accident with a medical procedure. I’m pretty much benched for the weekend and possibly beyond. Even typing hurts 🙁
Festivals: It depends on the type of festival! I love wine or food fests! I’ve been to two this summer. Music fests are ok, I tend not to go. They are expensive and often not worth the time. Art fests and any type of hobby type fest, I’m all for.
What did you end up getting, Erin? Or are you saving it for the sale?
Bioderma Micellar water, Srtvectin retinol serum ( ulta ), too face Lipstick, living proof travel set, AG stuff, soap & glory hand food, Bobbi brown flash sake from Macy,
He is adorable!
Thank you, Amalia!
