Haul: Two cool Formula X matte chunky glitter topcoats in lime green and yellow, and a Nails Inc. Gel Collection. Been hitting the sale section hard at Sephora for nail stuff! Some good deals and I’m really enjoying getting back into the nail game!

Weekend plans: Quite busy since it’s Eid (And Eid Mubarak to any of you who celebrate!) Working in the morning both days and going to dinners both days!

Favourite transportation: I’m partial to the bus since I live in the city and I really don’t want to deal with car and insurance payments and all that expensive car stuff!

Sarah Avatar

I’m addicted to the Transformers top coats… They give such a cool, kind of graffiti look to the nails! I have yelllow, orange, and cobalt blue. 🙂 so fun for summer!

Mariella Avatar

Haul: Stila “Soul” Eyes are the Windows palette, Lise Watier Exquisite Dry Oil (wow!) and Living Proof Style Extender hair cream (a hot yoga class tonight will be the test of whether the reviews citing its frizz-fighting abilities are borne out – that’s the reason I got it).
Weekend plans: not much. Temps are supposed to be insanely high this weekend (with the humidex making it feel even worse) so I’ll probably stay indoors as much as possible but might go to the gym early tomorrow morning with hubs.
What’s your favourite mode of transportation: depends on if I really want to get to the destination (then it has to be air travel) or if it’s less a scheduled thing, then it’s travelling by car. I love not having a time-table or even an itinerary set in stone so we can travel off to something that grabs our interest. A few summers ago, we travelled down through Maine and then to the east coast of Canada (to visit our son in New Brunswick) and it was the nicest road trip with many unplanned side excursions (someone we’d meet along the way would say “oh, you should try to see this” or “such and such is a great place to stop for lunch if you don’t mind taking a side trip” and that’s just what we did. I also really like the freedom of packing what I want and not having to deal with all the restrictions of what can stay with me and what has to be checked…

Vijaya Avatar

No major beauty hauls. Bought a bunch of bras and a new Kindle/other assorted electronics on Prime Day, though.

I’m going out to a nice dinner with my boyfriend tomorrow, and maybe a movie Sunday.

I like planes best internationally. Within the continental US, trains are always fun. Boo on long-distance buses!

Kiss & Make-up Avatar

Haul: Lots of French pharmacy skincare!

Weekend plans: Getting ready to say goodbye to the South of France.

What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: Depends… All modes of transportation have their pros and cons.

Tammy B Avatar

Haul: Urban Decay Naked Smoky!

Weekend plans: Celebrating my grand daughter’s 10th birthday tonight! Back to the Shakespeare Festival on Saturday for the Improvised Shakespeare Company and Love’s Labor Lost.

Favorite transportation: Always my Car! Just a few days without it reminds me of how many possibilities are available to me because I own a car.

I am curious, does Tom Ford only make one bronzer? I noticed you didn’t post a color for yesterday’s question.

Chrsitina D. Avatar

I let out a big “awww” when I saw this! I especially love dogs and he looks like he’s being such a good boy posing all innocent for you!

Christina Avatar

Haul: A friend was nice enough to give me a Sephora gift card. I bought the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer in SC-5. I only shelled out $7 in the end. 🙂

Weekend plans: I might have a job interview today (a longtime friend of my grandmother’s might hire me), and tomorrow I have to work on an assignment I have been putting off.

What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: I would say cars for short trips. I do remember my grandparents taking me to Canada on an Amtrak train when I was 8 (we live in NYC). The scenery throughout the excursion was gorgeous. As an adult, I would love to do this again on my own. Train rides that cross the country are quite lovely.

Mellan looks like the perfect gentleman. 🙂

Jess Avatar

Haul: Lots of nail polishes! Dior Milly and Vibrato, Picture Polish Scarlett and Siren Song, Essie Brides No Grooms, Saltwater Happy, Pret-A-Surfer

Weekend plans: Nothing! It’s going to be glorious. 🙂

Favourite mode of transportation: Hmm. It depends. In general, I would say bike, because I’m an avid cyclist. If I’m travelling, I would say plane, because I’m impatient and just want to arrive at my destination.

Katherine T. Avatar

Mellan looks quite dapper!
*Haul – backup of BITE Barberry, Jordana Cat Eye Liner in purples, blotting paper
*Weekend – no work (yippee!), some retail therapy (uh oh), lunch with parents
*Favorite mode – car, with my husband driving, so I can snooze and pack as much stuff as I want

Lily Kelley Avatar

Nars Luster blush is my only purchase.
No plans, just relax and maybe see a movie Sunday.
Car.

Mellan may be a few years old but he is gorgeous. xoxo for him from me and the boys. Have a great weekend Christine and a nice night out.

Audrey Avatar

Haul: I bought a Jack Black lip balm. I’ve been searching for the mint version for a couple of months and everywhere near me was out, so it was a joyous experience to finally see the tube with that little green “natural mint” label on it, lol.

Weekend plans: I’m going to tour an apartment and see if I can get on a wait list for December when I hope to move. The building is amazing and is always, always, always full. I got a job that is in a semi-rural area, so finding affordable housing within 30 minutes of my job is a bit difficult since it is all brand new, large, expensive housing.

What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: I like to take a car. I drive more than anyone else I know, and probably hate it more than anyone else I know too, though, but I love to be a passenger. The speed and access to any location you can get with a car is pretty hard to beat. If driving isn’t a good option, then I always enjoy taking the MAX (Portland’s version of the BART). The people watching opportunities on the MAX are excellent.

Haul: Bobbi Brown Sunset Pink Lip Trio, Evian Facial Water Spray set, Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating duo set, Allure for butter London nail in It’s Vintage, Kat Von D Tattoo Liner Five Fearless Years, Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp
Weekend Plan?: staying at my brother’s home,he just gets out of hospital after breaking his leg What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: boats!

Alex Avatar

Haul: Estée Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow in Hot Cinnamon, YSL Glossy Stain No 18, and repurchased my Mac Pro Longwear Concealer. I was going to get some of the lippies from Mac’s Giambattista Valli collection but I had too many nearly identical shades already, and also I’m trying super hard to move away from Mac a little and appreciate other brands out there (although it’s HARD).

Weekend Plans: I’m reorganizing my whole room, including my wardrobe and make-up storage, so hopefully I can get that finished by tomorrow.

Favorite mode of transportation: To me nothing beats a car…(especially a vintage one 😉 )

WARPAINTandUnicorns Avatar

Haul: From Sephora
MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation Y215 and sample in 117 = Y225 Marble
Sephora Summer Tote BI 250 PT Lipstick is the Answer! What was the Question? (Wish it was bigger.)
Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette (behaves better than yours!)

Weekend plans: Working again. But I have today off to finally chill! (They’ve been under staffed so I was working 6 days a week or extra long shifts.)

What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: Trans actually!!! You get to see a scenic route. But I rarely take them as there are few in my area and they’re expensive.

WARPAINTandUnicorns Avatar

I should say that the Naked Smoky you have Christine seem to have way more issues than mine. I’m wondering if the press sample or first run was a bit off because the shades that were in the C and D range are behaving much more like B+ to C+’s now in mine. Much more pigment and smooth! In particular Password and Wiskey look truer to pan on the skin than the sheer patch mess you have.

Estefania Avatar

Haul: oof.
MAC: Giambattista Lipsticks (Bianca B, Margherita, Tats, Charlotte, Eugenie), Prolongwear Concealer in NC20 for highlighting, 215 and 221 brush, Haute and Naughty lash, Cork lip pencil, Candy Yum Yum, Whirl, Stone, Instigator, Naturally Transformed, and Relentlessly Red lipsticks, Phiff! Dazzleglass, Pro Longwear Waterproof foundation (LOVE) Cleanse Off Oil, Moth Pressed Pigment.

Colourpop Road Trip Highlighter, Summer Lovin and Riptide eyeshadows.

Sephora: Rouge Beauty Blender, #10 crease brush (AMAZING BRUSH), BeccaxJaclyn Hill highlighter, ABH waterproof gel eyeliners in Barbie Pink and Yellow, Brow Wiz in Ebony, #18 brush, MUFE artist eyeshadows in M928, D552, M738, D562, M846, S604, Josie Maran Argan Luminizer, Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo, Living Proof Satin Hair Serum.

Ulta: ItCosmetics angled buffing brush, Stila liquid lipsticks in Amalfi, Como, and Venezia, Urban Decay Glitter liner in Distortion, NYX pastel mascara in Mint Julep, quite liquid liner, Simply Nude lip crayon in Honey, Urban Decay lip pencil in Anarchy.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics: Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Abused, Jawbreaker, Celebrity Skin, and Unicorn Blood.

Weekend Plans: My boyfriend is visiting for a week, so I’m spending all my time with him 🙂

Favorite form of transportation: Planes. I just wanna get there NOW.

Pteetsa Avatar

Haul: Urban Decay Smoky palette, Armani Fluid Sheer #6, Charlotte Tilbury Rebel Without a Cause palette, La Roche-Posay BB cream, Sephora travel makeup bag (which is awesome!), Perricone No Highlighter Highlighter, Milani matte lip cream in the nude color (which was not awesome) and Milani blush in Dolce Pink.
I also bought two Nordstrom Exclusives items, but I returned both – Laura Geller Eye Dew trio (the colors were very pretty but the formula was not good) and Laura Mercier palette which got a bad review, so I didn’t even bother to try it.

Weekend plans: the uze – volunteering at the Humane Society, Zumba class, and hopefully a movie.

What’s your favorite mode of transportation? I like public transportation and wish it was more prevalent in the US! I also like to fly (and I love airports). Mainly, I don’t like to drive, so I prefer anything else.

Pteetsa Avatar

Sorry, I never answered you! I got the “Pull It Together Travel Bag”. It lies flat so all your stuff is contained but easy to access, and then when you’re done, you pull the drawstring to close it up into a little makeup bag. It’s really useful!

Kuávsui Avatar

Haul — MAC Party Parrot Matte Lipstick, City Color nude liner, W7 Honolulu bronzer.
Weekend plans — nothing special apart from starting up exercising again (I’ve been in a rut for a while!), maybe go boating
What’s your favorite mode of transportation? — I have to say cars as well for the same reasons, but I like boats and open waters too!

Meghan Avatar

Mellan looks lIke a gentleman!

Haul: The MAC x Giambattista Valli lipsticks in Tats & Margherita + a new 217 brush.
Weekend plans: Relax (long week! TGIF!) and a long run
What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: I rely a lot on planes because I like in a more remote area or Nothern Canada but I also enjoy driving!

Lulle Avatar

Haul: I bought the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot set, the one that was launched for the holidays last year but was sold out everywhere weeks before Christmas. It came back and was on sale so I grabbed it as soon as I saw it! It still hasn’t shipped after 4 days though :/
Week-end plans: we have family visiting for the 2nd week-end in a row, so more sight-seeing and tourist stuff!
Favorite mode of transportation: I really like to walk!

Kat Avatar

Haul: The Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme (I think these are LE) in Adore and Romance, Sephora #55 Brush, and the Bite Beauty Matte Creme lipstick in Juniper (I love it so much I actually bought a backup, and my mom saw me wearing it and got herself a tube too).

Weekend plans: I saw my dad last night so we won’t get together over the weekend, so really just working and homework for my calc course, as well as birthday present shopping for my mom.

Favorite mode of transport: I very rarely go anywhere by plane, and I don’t drive, so I’d have to say the train! I like being able to sit down and read a bit while I travel. I also love the NYC subway system for how easy it makes traveling around the city, but it’s kind of loud and crowded and smelly.

Tova J Avatar

Awww Mellan’s so cute! I used to be really scared of dogs but since my family got one I’m converted. I love all dogs <3
Haul: ohhh I'm in Scotland now so that means new exciting brands to try out! So far, I got Illamasqua Gel Sculpt and liquid eyeliner in Scribe. Bourjois Healthy Glow Foundation, Bronzing Primer and Velvet Rouge Edition in So Hap'pink. Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1. Collection Lasting perfection concealer. I have over three weeks left here so I think there's more to come…
Weekend plans: Work, work, work!
What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: Probably train. Cars, boats and airplanes make me sick..

Cat Avatar

Haul: Colour Pop shadows in Sequin and Drift, blushes in Sticky Sweet and Thumper, and a lip liner in Westie. Also, the Bite Beauty Opal Crème Lipstick which I wore last night and really liked.
Weekend plans: My husband, who has been doing so well since getting chemo for Leukemia in 2013, was diagnosed with Lymphoma this past Wednesday. He starts treatment next week and we have no idea how he’s going to respond to it. So, we’re going to cram as much as possible into this weekend… which will probably include eating the most famous, award-winning clam chowder served along the Central Coast (topped, of course, with crab meat and shrimp).
What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: Until teleportation becomes a reality, I’m going to have to say that traveling by car is my favorite form of transportation.

Nancy T Avatar

Hi Cat, I am so sorry to hear about what you and your husband are going through. That is some double whammy if there ever was one. I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that he gets this one licked too and doesn’t have any recurrence of either one.

Cat Avatar

Thank you so much, Nancy. This is a triple whammy, as he had Multiple Sclerosis when I married him. One of the drugs he took for the MS caused the Leukemia. Then, of course, the Leukemia caused the Lymphoma. The man has been through a lot… but he’s determined to make it. This treatment consists of taking a pill three times a day, every day, for the rest of his life. The pills are $90 each. Ouch.

Nancy T Avatar

Oh my!!! Then yes, he is absolutely a fighter! 3 major illnesses, I know this is tough, but I am guessing he, and you, are TOUGHER. I myself have been on Remicade for my Crohn’s Disease for 5 1/2 yrs, and it does carry the risk of contracting Lymphoma and/ or life threatening fungal infections, not fun. But when I read $90 per pill x 3 a day….YIKES! My infusions are covered by my insurance, and it’s $8900 every 6 weeks, so they tell me. Autoimmunes suck.

Cat Avatar

I’m sorry to hear that you’re dealing with Crohn’s Disease. I’m glad your insurance is covering the cost of your treatments as medical expenses are outrageous. My son got very upset when he heard the price of the treatment my husband will be on, he firmly stated that medicine shouldn’t be something people profit from. “You’re supposed to make medicine to help people, not to get rich!” I can’t argue with that.

Nancy T Avatar

I totally agree with your son! Medicine *used* to be a field one went into because they truly cared for people and out of a deep sense of compassion, nowadays, it’s *usually* ALL about the $$$’s. Whether it’s to become a doctor or to work in the realm of pharmaceuticals, doesn’t matter. Sad really.

Moireach Avatar

He is a cutie!

Haul: Benefit Erase Paste, Lemon Aid and the Operation Pore-Proof set of minis (why do they have to put Porefessional in every set they come up with though? I have 3 of these already!). Hope these will be as good as they’re supposed to be!

Weekend plans: start preparing for my holiday, lots of stuff to do before going

What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: I’d say train, but I also enjoy travelling by bus if it’s a doule decker, by plane and by car. Oh, and by ship! 😉

Rachel R. Avatar

Haul: Two acrylic lipstick holders; NuSkin Night Supply Nourish Cream; NuSkin 180° Face Wash; a set of 18 JCat Pout-holic Lipsticks. I’m really like the lipsticks. They have some really funky colors, and most of them are really creamy and opaque. The two or three that are less opaque can be built up and/or used over liner. My favorite is a gray blue, that is like a darker, bluer version of Melt Space Cake. The packaging is cheap, very similar to Nyx Macaron’s packaging, but it works.

Weekend plans: My sons’ friend is coming over tomorrow, so buying food for teenage boys. 🙂 Hopefully, I’ll get some pictures taken and post more stuff on ebay..

What’s your favorite mode of transportation?: I don’t get to use boats much, but I really like riding in them. I get motion sickness really easily, but for some reason I’ve never been seasick. I also used to like it when my husband would take me flying, but time and money constraints means we don’t get to do that much any more. When he was in taking flying lessons, and then studying flight technology, I got to fly with him all the time. He took me flying on our first date, and tried to impress me with every trick he knew (I HATE stalls). I barfed as we were landing. True story.

Christine Avatar

I haven’t been on a boat in years now, but I know I took it on the cruise (probably 20 years ago almost now, lol). The story my parents tell us is that they had my sister and I in the cabin, locked, while they went downstairs for a little bit, and then they came up and I was totally dead to the world. They had to get security/cruise personnel to open the door, LOL.

Rachel R. Avatar

I used Dramamine once, when I was about 15 or 16, because of a youth group trip to Knott’s Berry Farm. I was trying roller coasters for the first time. (I’m terrified of heights, but more terrified of telling my friends that.)

I did fine at the park, but the next day I slept almost the whole day. One of the counselors roused me long enough to find out is was the dramamine, and let me sleep it off.

Anne Avatar

I had planned to go to LUSH and get their Shark Fin soap, but they were out so I went to buy a new comforter (got it at Macy’s for over 50% off yaay!) and that’s when things got a bit out of hand. I may have swung by The Body Shop, L’Occitane, and Origins, and then come home to an Amazon package full of Le Petit Marseillais stuff. Oops.

Nancy T Avatar

Mellan has such deep, soulful eyes here!

Haul: UD Tonic Eyeshadow ( finally! ), ordered a few things from e.l.f., Gotta Glow Blush, the Pro angled e/s brush, 3 empty quads for a few more MAC singles and also MUG singles. Also, wanted to share that something I got a few weeks back in a haul has been so disappointing, the MAC Fluidline in Waveline has serious application issues. It takes like 3 go-overs, arrgh!

Weekend plans: other than my routine, just waiting to see whether we really get dumped on with a lot of rain due to once Hurricane Delores coming into AZ & the rest of the desert SW.

Favorite mode of transportation: Easily in a car or other auto! Although, I kind of still like riding in trains, too. Just nostalgic and has an air of mystery to it.

Nicole Avatar

Sorry I’m posting late! I actually got out of the house today and the day got busy! Starting to feel better! 🙂
Haul: My haul is over two week s and is huge so I’ll try to be as brief as possible. But, considering the Nordstrom sale and the fact that I have had a lot of time on my hands- not easy on my wallet. From the Nordstom sale: a PMD ,2 Whish shower and bath gels for my daughter and 2 of the Lavender sets for me( may stock up on those some more), 2 butter London sets(arm candy and the one in the sale), summer Merteorites,2 sets of Voluspa candles, the Gehwol foot care set,Somme Institute transport trio pads, Babaybaearshop Cheeky baby butter. Cle de peaus Sand Beige luminizer .I ordered some mac lipsticks: Smoked Purple, Studded kiss ,All fired Up ,Dangerous, and Relentlessly Red. Nars Marisa and MJB Jolly Molly( yep, both) I like them both and feel they are different enough, lol. Besame Dusty Rose and Merlot. Bite Opal lipstick X2 and the gloss(I am returning it though) and Bite Barberry x2, Juniper, and Plum(loving these so much!). The Tom Ford God’s suddenly rained upon me this week. Pleasant form me..not for my wallet. I had ordered some lipsticks the week prior to my surgery that I had wanted forever : Ruby Rush, First time, Flame,Plumlush, and Pussycat. The Sa’s form the counter sent me a nice little “get well” box with some nice samples from around Neiman’s beauty dept in a fancy TF box. When I called to thank them, the SA I deal with there typically told me that they were not getting the AW15 cream.which I had received the email just a few days prior about pre- ordering along with some other fall stuff. So, I had to order it right away. Later that day, she called and said,”no they are getting it”. Anyway, it arrived today- Tom Ford AW15 ,lol..you would think they could get more creative! Wraping it up with a quick trip to Ulta today thinking I may have some time to pamper myself as I continue to recover and knowing the Nordy’s stuff wil be a while, I picked up: C. booth’s 4-in-1 Multi Action” Coconut fig” body Lotion and C. Booth’s” Milk” bath and shower cleanser and 2 China Glaze nail polishes..I also did a pretty good haul of the Nordstrom sale for other stuff.First year I shopped it . I had no idea the deals were so good honestly. It’s a pretty amazing sale. I don’t buy a lot of chlothes and since I have been sick, I have bought minimal far as wardrobe is conceed because my life outside of work has pretty much been just revolved around my daughter. That will continue. But, I am hopeful for a full recovery and a full life back. So,I totally took advantage of those deals to add to my wardrobe.:)
Weekend Plans: As much as I should be resting still, I have to shop for curtains and the rest of the stuff we need for the living room .My daughter is having her birthday party on the 25th. It’s a sleepover an one of my girlfriend’s is staying to help out . So, I have to get to cleaning. I’m going to be slow and there is just me. So, I have to shop and clean.
Preferred mode f transportation: I prefer to fly. But, just like Christine I don’t like the hassle involved and I am such a bad over-packer!
Sorry for the book!
Have a great weekend!

Nicole Avatar

Hi Christine..I agree Barberry is so,do pretty. I’m in love with Juniper and Plum too. I broke down and bought backups for both Juniper and Barberry along with the Opal lipstick .I very well may get one for Plum. I adore the formula and the colors. I usually don’t get back ups. Especially lipstick as my stash is huge and I may be 90 by the time I see a it.I think they will bring them permanent along with the line going to Canada. This is a pressure thing to make people like me but too many, lol!
I’m doing great. Better and better each day. I still have a lot of dizziness and the pain gets worse when I bend over which is a good sign! Meaning it likely will lessen more ( it’s not too bad) or go away. I’m pot up day 9 and I feel better than I have in a single day since Jan 13,2013! I wish your grandmother could have had this surgery and I know a lot of people are told they are not candidates because their docs don’t see anything on the MRI. I’m glad I took the risk. I thank you and the community for keeping me distracted during my down moments and for encouraging me when I was freaking out about surgery!

Nancy T Avatar

WooHoo! So glad to hear that you’re feeling better and better! I know you must be feeling some sense of relief! And that is one MAJOR haul! Sounds like LOTS of fun and really cool stuff, too. Enjoy while you continue to heal up.

Nicole Avatar

Thanks Nancy! I’m feeling a huge sense of relief. It had started to get pretty dark feeling for me. You know, knowing that if would live forever in constant intolerable pain really was not what I was looking forward to. My doctors at home had given up. Yep, I’ve been shopping waaay too much. That haul doesn’t include the home stuff I bought . That was paid for with $ from insurance though to replace our losses. I also did find a lot of good wardobe additions. Time to get a life back. Hopefully start dating again!

kjh Avatar

Did a big MUG haul w/blushes, e/s, + Z palettes. I think their STOCKUP 10 sale is over Sat. Hope everyone noticed that Catrice + Makeup Revolution are now on Ulta. Think it’s online only. U’s selection does not compare to the brands’ websites, though. Awaiting MUG, esp as i deconstructed a SL of shadows which need a Z home. Gotta do some Zs from Ulta, too.

night job. Might be getting an adopted brother for Jussi next week, an Alaskan Klee Kai. Hope it works out. Cleaning in prep for new dog! Happy Eid to all of our Muslim friends! Happy feasting, instead of fasting. Ramadan must be quite hard.

transportation: had to laugh at this one. Made me want to say hovercraft or 1930s classic sport boats or ultra light gliders. Although, I’d really be terrified in a glider. I’d kill for an ancient watercraft.

Rachel R. Avatar

I heard Ulta is getting JCat, also, but I didn’t see them on the website yet. I haven’t been in-store in over a week, so I don’t know if they’re in stores yet.
