Favourite fruit: I love all summer fruits but my favourite, by far, is CHERRIES!
Do you only eat them fresh? Or do you like using them in other dishes?
I don’t much like them cooked into desserts and such…eating them raw is what I love. For baking/desserts, I’m much more likely to buy a small bucket of frozen sour or sweet cherries (depending on what the recipe calls for) but the fresh ones, IMO, are wasted in baking.
Gotcha! I like fresh cherries more than cherries-in-things – but I find I feel that way about most fruits (probably cooked apples is one I can get behind!).
Haul: Well, I successfully refrained from hauling some Paula’s Choice skincare at beauty.com (20% off! Plus Free full-sized sunscreen and 1/4-sized BHA!), and also refrained from getting twelve Clinque Cheek Pop blushes for $150 (using a Gilt discount). I’m trying so hard to be proud of myself for my restraint (and reassure myself that it was a good choice, haha.)
Weekend plans: I think someone is going to stop by to fix my broken washer this weekend, so that’s happy. 🙂

What happened with your Too Faced order? I sent back a powder foundation for a refund and it took so long I forgot about it. It was a nice surprise to see in my bank account yesterday though.

Haul: Too Faced Melted lipstick in Fig and Urban Decay eyeshadow in Tonic. I must say I love the melted lipstick. I read so many complaints that I was worried I would return it. I love the sponge applicator and the intense pigmentation that does not feather or collect in my lip lines. I do believe the melted fig lipstick is perfectly accompanied by Clinique’s Fig pop blush!
Weekend plans: rest, reading, workouts and cooking. I am torn among several dishes: homemade mac n cheese, homemade meatballs, chicken wings…maybe I will make them all!

Haul (I’m combining this week and last week): Colour Pop Bound, Lumiere, and LBB Lippie Stix; Colour Pop Blushes in Aphrodisiac, Prenup, and Between The Sheets; Colour Pop eyeshadow in Smash; MAC Marque lipstick (finally); MAC blush palette and insert; MAC Harmony Blush. I’m not really sure if I’ll like Harmony, but I am intrigued by it so I guess I’ll find out in a few days when it arrives.
Weekend plans: I just got hired last minute to teach summer school so I will be plan, plan, planning like crazy. I was a bit of a horrible person and backed out of a job that I had that was supposed to start on the same day (this upcoming Monday) to take this one. This summer school job pays 3x as much, is closer, plus is a much better resume and experience builder, so it was really hard to say no to. To be fair, I did do all of the pre-legwork for whoever fills my position at the job that I initially had and I found 3 great options for replacements, so I feel like a bit less of a horrible person for backing out last minute, but still. Definitely not worthy of human of the year award.
What’s your favorite fruit to consume during summer?: Peaches. No contest. And not that you asked, but blueberries are my least favorite, which I know is an unpopular stance to take. I was in AZ last week and I saw some pie with dark filling and, naturally, being form Oregon, I thought it was marionberry pie…but it wasn’t. Blueberry. It was quite the disappointment, LOL. 😛

Haul: I actually won a Sephora gift card from Karen (makeupandbeautyblog.com) so I bought something a little more expensive I probably wouldn’t have gotten with my own money, Nars Audacious in Barbara. I’m very excited for it to arrive.
Also, I was cleaning out an old purse I haven’t used since last year, and found a lipstick… A lipstick I have a distinct memory of NOT buying? It was Siren Song from last years Alluring Aquatics MAC collection. I remember being sad I wasn’t able to get anything from the collection because the packaging was so cool. Clearly SS was the last one in stock at my store, I must have just bought it for the packaging even though the shade didn’t attract me and I can’t remember doing that. It’s still in the box and not even swatched or anything. I just tried it on and shockingly really like it? I normally run screaming from both pale nudes and frosts but it’s a weirdly good color on me. Hmmm. A mystery…
Weekend plans: The usual, farmers market, work. Going to Target to exchange some leggings (there’s a million different black leggings at Target and they all look the same, it’s so hard to tell which style you’re getting!).
Fave fruit in the summer: Fresh strawberries! The farmers market I go to has these AMAZING ones, the small fresh sweet kind you can’t really get at the grocery store. I like them in plain greek yogurt with a little Stevia, or dipped in homemade whipped cream. Yum!

How is the new patch so far, Helene?
I’ve not played enough of it to be able to give it a really fair review yet, but so far I like it. You get a shipyard, you get to see Tanaan Jungle, finally and there seem to be a lot of daily quests. You also need to get some achievments to get flying mount in Draenor in a later patch.
I’ve not been in the new raid, yet, I don’t thing my guild is ready for it, but we’ll get there.
There are som news I really like, something called Timewalk,I think I got that right, so you can play old dungeons scaled down so it’s like old times. There are weekend events, one of them is the dungeons, I’ll try it this weekend.
I think it seems like a fun patch, new area, Horde and Allience strongholds quite close to each other might get some PVP going for those who like world PVP, I don’t as I really sick at PVP 🙂
So far I am enjoying myself in Tanaan Jungle.
I hope you get time to go there and do some relaxing playing.
Ooh, nice! I got really bored surprisingly quickly with the expansion – it was like TOO many daily quests/factions in the prior expansion and then not enough in the most recent one!
In the new patch there are a fe dailys, some of them take a bit of time, and there are som more factions to rep with. The shipyard isn’t so much fun, it could have been, but it’s just like the follower missions, except in the beginning you don’t get anything, the boats get exp and that’s all.
I do quite like Tanaan Jungle, but I might get tired of it and just keep grinding for the rep. I do think it’s interesting to see Outland as it once was/may have been. Tanaan Jungle is my old time favourite zone, Hellfire Penninsula, you knew that of course 🙂 I never understood why I like that zone, it’s brown and dirty.
The new raid looks like a bit of fun, I watched my son do some of it today.
Poor Mellan! Although I wonder if he’s really pooped out from using that 15-pound weight that’s nearby!
Haul: not much this week. Just ordered some new under-eye concealer (Clinique, surprisingly enough, a brand I rarely use nowadays) and a few skincare items.

Haul: This week has been slim since the insurance is being slow on reimbursement and the stress has been very high. But, I had a $10 off of $50 coupon of Mac.com so I picked up the #137 brush and the mineralize lipstick in “Be a Lady”. I also got a couple of toners- Clarins and a Pixi one. I had to order my foundation a shade lighter (Tom Ford Traceless perfecting) because my body hasn’t seen the sun in about 2 weeks now with all this going on (with the house) and I have a ton of doctor appointments starting this week to prep for surgery and then surgery. So, I am starting to feel like I should just save for my daughter’s bday in July and fall collections at this point!
Weekend Plans: Keep working on getting our house back together and get some errands done-it’s coming along. I am so very exhausted.
My favorite summer fruit is definitely watermelon. but, I get lazy on slicing it. So, my secondary is strawberries.

I’ve just started using their brushes. The slanted Kabuki is my fave – it’s suppose to be for contouring but it’s too big for that, but I love to use it with face powder. I also like their Angled Blush Brush, because it’s small, and it can pack on a blush or contour on my teflon cheeks. I have a petite face and most blush brushes are WAY too big for my cheeks, but not this one. Their Angled Contour Brush is good for blending concealer or foundation under the eye. And love their Small Smudge Brush for applying shadow under the eye. Their brushes are super cheap(usually $3- $6), so I can buy multiple ones, the quality is good, and they hold up after multiple washings. I mean I love my IT Brushes too but they are expensive, so I can’t buy as many of them.

Haul: My very first Colour Pop products! (YAY!) I got the shadows in Bill and Bubbly, and the lippie and pencil in Lumière. (I had a blush in my cart… then chickened out at the last minute!) I also purchased UD’s Fireball, Dr Brandt’s Pores No More, and a new Precious Light from Guerlain.
Weekend plans: No plans. Just recovering from going to the farmer’s market last night.

My fav fruit is cherry <3 I was born in june (20th), called the cherry month here.
Haul: Maybe I'll buy smth from the new Mega Mall in my neighbourhood…but I'm not sure what, yet… maybe a butter gloss…or some foundation (though idk which brand…nothing seems to make my skin look nice, cover and stay on…well, i got skin problems).
Week-end plans: laziness…the finals are officially over since yesterday. Maybe i'll go a concert in the park (but i feel kind of dizzy as i slept extremely badly and little several times this months…i need to recover). I placed a MAC order a while back and their lip pencil in Whirl was backordered for a while and is finally supposed to come in this weekend. Also getting some Body Shop stuff from their sale a while back. I just hope the crazy heatwave here doesn’t melt stuff before it comes in…

Slight windfall, so 3 hauls. Paula’s choice replenishments. Mac viva glam one and two painterly paint pots (NOT back up, gift.) PPP is perfection, Great disguise for upper eyelid discoloration. HTF did never get that one before. Not really a MAC person. 2 Besame Reds, the Buxom Pastel palette.
plan: did MAJOR. Deconstructing & depotting, labeling, glue removal, etc. The high irony is I need more Zs! That’s the next haul. And play on the best part of hauls, ultima haul of the year. IPad! Yes, many people think I’m a makeup addict, but everyone knows I’m an info addict.
Fruit: Georgia peaches, Maine wild blueberries, and Pacific NW red cherries…not Ranier. Cape Cod thimbleberries. Fruit is like coffee; the soil & the climate make all the difference. Don’t get me started on CORN. Native (Eastern Mass or wherever you may be in New England, followed by Virginia.) Ohio corn and California, Arizona never seemed worth eating.
