Share your pet photos to the Temptalia Pets flickr group! 🙂
This week’s Mellan photo…
“You want to let me up there, right? RIGHT?!”
haha how can you say no to him?
Haul: I did not purchase anything new…trying to save for 2016 lmao possible cruise destinations were announced and the touring life gets expensive but Colour Pop is testing my resolve with their summer collection!
Weekend plans: My sister graduates collage this week!! We’re going to spend the weekend in NH
What’s your creative outlet?: Art in general. I’ve tried my hand at painting, and I wrote a lot of poetry. I really like photography too.
It’s very hard! 😉
At least it’s ColourPop and not Tom Ford tempting you, right? One is a wee bit easier to cave on here and there (but they do add up if you go nuts, lol).
haha right. I got an Aerin fragrance in my Glossybox last month and I liked it so much, I looked into getting other scents. I looked at the price and thought to myself ouch. It is at least $100 for a 1.7 oz bottle. I remember when perfumes were $50 for one bottle. I brought Marc Jacob Eau So Fresh recently and it was I think $89.
Haul: Items purchased at NYC Make-up Show, including NARS, AJ Crimson, Crown, MUFE, Inglot
Weekend Plans: House cleaning, brunch with hubby and daughter, visit MIL
Creative Outlet: Make-up, Fashion, Music
Did you have fun at the Makeup Show, Chris?
Christine, I did. We took a bus trip of artists from Maryland. I shopped for about 3-4 hours. Great deals at NARS and MUFE – 30% off.
Awesome 😀
Awww, give Mellan a big kiss for me!! He’s so adorable
*Haul – MAC Heroine Lipstick and Lipliner (love!! now I know why everyone raves about this color)
*Weekend plans – Mother’s Day celebrations this weekend
*Creative Outlet – definitely makeup!
Done! 🙂 He’s all kissed up, haha!
Haul: Kevyn Aucoin Lipgloss in Nyalia
Weekend plans: Spending time with my nieces, going to my aunt’s birthday party, taking my mom out for lunch on Sunday!
What’s your creative outlet?: I guess makeup, to some extent. I’m a copywriter, so I have to/get to be creative all week!
How do you like the Kevyn Aucoin gloss?
I like it a lot — but *something* I’ve been using this week is making my lips rough and dry, and I hope it isn’t this!
Oh, that sucks! I hope your lips feel better!
Haul: Formula X in Revved Up, Korres Milk Soap, Bite Beauty 005, Dior Ombre Effect top coat, LORAC The Violet Collection, Trish McEvoy Retinol eye cream (plus the NM Scent Event bonus plus the Trish McEvoy bonus), Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting bronzer
Weekend Plans: Dinner Saturday night with my daughter
Creative Outlet: Makeup (guess it’s not a creative answer though!)
Awesome haul, Michelle! Have a great dinner with your daughter 🙂
Haul: I was bad this week. From Sephora, I picked up the 41 Domed Stippling brush, Sephora Collection Airbrush foundation in Fawn (kind of really impressed with it!), YSL Rouge Volupte in Peach Passion, NARS Fervor dual intensity blush, Urban Decay Bittersweet blush, MUFE Aqua Matic in Iridescent Lime Green, MUFE Aqua lip liner in 24C, and the Dior Star Foundation in the shade 21 Linen. I also picked up the Chanel Lumiere d’Ete and the Stylo Eyeshadow in #127 Laurier Rose. Lastly, the new MAC ProLongwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation (also very impressed with this!).
Weekend Plans: my sister is coming home from college, so we’re going to do something special for her and mother’s day for my mom 🙂
Creative Outlet: I write fiction for fun, makeup (DUH) and face charts are super fun 🙂
Sephora’s house line is really better than you’d expect, more often than not – some losers, but then with the amount of SKUs they have, not a surprise that not everything is a winner!
I’m starting to see that! haha their Lustre Mattes are some of my favorite lip products, and this foundation is seriously nice. I’m going to have to check out more of their stuff! I know you love the eyeliners 🙂
So far, I am very impressed with the MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation! It repels moisture, has good coverage, and is long lasting. I ran errands in the southern humidity and did serious house cleaning, and it did not budge. At all.
Haul: Finally got the final instalment of my Sephora sale order! I think I ordered it on the last day, haha. I got the Urban Decay Ozone pencil primer, All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray, and blush in Rapture!
Weekend plans: Yes Mother’s Day with ma! We’re actually doing a 10km run on Sunday, and my boyfriend will BBQ for us and my brother for supper!
What’s your creative outlet? Hm, I think it would be writing, but I could do more of it for fun (I typically have to do lots for work!)
Woohoo!! Glad you got your new UD suff 🙂
Have a fun run!
Thanks Christine! Enjoy your weekend too! 🙂
Clinique Cheek Pop x 2
Relax and see a movie
Makeup.
Mellan you can sit on my lap anytime! xoxo for Mellan from me and the boys. Have a great weekend Christine.
What movie do you think you’ll see?
Hot Pursuit with Reese W.
Let me know if it is any good, Lily!
Definitely!
Haul: Neutrogena nourishing long wear liquid foundation, Crabtree & Evelyn shower gels in Nantucket & Briar (I can’t get enough of this scent so I bought two bottles as well as a hand cream in this scent), and a Crabtree & Evelyn nail polish in Anthurium
Weekend Plans: spending time with my family and hopefully get some cleaning done!
What’s my creative outlet? I think for me it’s writing (poems and short stories)
What kind of scent is Nantucket and Briar?
I’m really terrible at describing scents but the Crabtree & Evelyn website describes it as having wild rose, peony, and vanilla as well as some other scents…to me it just smells clean and fragrant but not overly floral or sweet if that makes sense
Thank you! 🙂 That is good enough for me!
Haul: Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Peridot,Clinique Cheek Pop in Cola Pop,UD Revolution lipgloss in Punch Drunk and Liar,Milani Easyliner Lipliner in Most Natural,Real Technique Duo Fiber Collection,Louise Young blush in LY06,LY31

Weekend Plans: My daughter has a big girl scout event tomorrow and Mother’s day with my family!
My creative outlet: makeup of course and I have quite a few tattoos..I pretty much am into all forms of art!
It’ll be up at 9 🙂
Keep me posted on the Plexi Glosses!
Awww Mellan..you’re adorable!
I must say… he is. Not biased at all 😉
Aw, that face… 🙂 <3 Mellan
Haul: Just ordered some Paula's Choice stuff!
Weekend plans: Tonight dinner with MAC & tomorrow a MAC seminar!
What’s your creative outlet?: Make-up, obviously. And writing.
Oooh, nice!!
Haul: Laura Mercier Flawless Fluide foundation, which I think I may need to return since it found dry patches I didn’t even know I had. I’m going to give it another chance. I also picked up Laura Mercier’s lipstick in Antique Pink which is fabulous!
Weekend plans: Mother’s Day and my 21st birthday are all on the same day, lol! 😉 Also, I was hit in my car yesterday (probably totaled, but fingers crossed it’s not) so there’ll be lots of fun phone calls between insurance companies.
What’s your creative outlet?: Definitely makeup, but I’d really like to get into woodworking. That’ll probably have to wait for a bit until I have a house–both so I have space to build but also so I have room to put the stuff that I make. 😛
Happy 21st birthday, Audrey!
Hope you’re okay from the car accident!
I will echo that!!! Hope you are fine and Happy Birthday
I got a sample of that foundation and hated it – it clung to dry patches and looked way too matte. I read that some reviews that other people with more combo/oily skin liked it.
I went ahead and ordered my ColourPop highlighters. I got Monster, Hippo, Stole the Show, Spoon, Smokin’ Whistles, Teasecake, and Highly Waisted. The lighter ones might be similar but I know I’ll use them, especially in summer. Even if I wear no other makeup I can pop a highlight on my cheeks and eyelids. Teasecake and HW might be more like subtle blushes on me. I opted out of the darker shades I was eyeing.
Weekend plans: Mother’s Day brunch
Creative outlet: Movies, TV, and documentaries, reading (mostly non-fiction)
Great haul, Ginny! Can’t wait for you to get your highlighters and hear your feedback on them.

Weekend plans: Organizing beauty products in my bathroom (already did makeup organization two weeks ago). Also, Mother’s Day lunch with my mom.
What’s your creative outlet?: Makeup! I also do art all day long as a play therapist.
What a great skincare haul, Samantha! 🙂
Have fun organizing!
Haul: Kat von D Trooper eyeliner, UD Perversion mascara, Benefit My Two Cents cream shadow, and UD Liar Revolution lipstick. I actually just placed the order on Sephora a couple days ago so it hasn’t come in yet.
Weekend Plans: I have crazy dog fever right now! (you know like baby fever, except with dogs) And your adorable pictures of Mellan aren’t helping! 😉 I’ve decided that it’s finally time to let another one into my life after loosing my 17 year old baby a couple of years ago. Life just isn’t the same without a dog! I haven’t found the right one yet so I’m going to try and check out some more animal shelters this weekend.
What’s your creative outlet?: Sewing!
Hopefully your order shows up soon!! 🙂
May you find the next perfect dog soon, Lisa! Losing a dog is always hard, because we love them so deeply, but I am amazed at our capacity to get involved all-over again – they are irresistible.
Thank you! My heart is certainly ready to love another furry friend again!
Haul: Chanel soliel tan, and 2 of the new shadow sticks in rose and bronze, smashbox contour highlight sticks and fresh lip treatment in petal and honey
Weekend plans: Relaxing
What’s your creative outlet?: Makeup!
How are you liking the new Chanel eyeshadows, Vanessa?
The colors are beautiful but my favorite part is the cooling effect it has when applying it!
Haul: some art supplies and socks with tacos on them.
Weekend plans: Photographer of the Year exhibition. Hanging the show today and the reception/award ceremony is tomorrow.
What’s your creative outlet? Mixing paint, drawing with charcoal, nature photography, doing my makeup.
Taco socks! How cute!
Haul- Ulta some tarte lipsticks (nice and buttery) and it came with a lip exfoliant. I’m not sure about the colors- I have a lot of natural lip pigment and lipstick sometimes is hard to show up. A couple of OPI’s nail polishes from the Hawaii collection. Free deluxe sizeTarte Marajuca neck cream sample – it smells really good.
Plans- My first Mother’s day as a mommy.
Creative outlet- sewing quilts. so much fabric and so little time.
Aww!! Happy first Mother’s Day! 🙂
Haul: Bought a mug for my mom for mothers day, it says “mama bear” and has a picture of a bear with eyelashes on it. Also picked up the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush for foundation, the Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder Brush, and the Bobbi Brown Blush Brush. Lastly, I got some Klorane Dry Shampoo, and the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray.
Weekend Plans: Dinner with my mom tonight at one of my favorite restaurants tonight, Laurel Hardware in West Hollywood. Then “Dear John Hughes,” a production in West Hollywood that takes songs and music, and story lines from all of the John Hughes movies, and weaves them together into a cohesive play (also with my mom, her other gift for mother’s day). Tomorrow the boyf and I are going to see the Nashville cast perform at the Nokia Theater for date night.
Creative Outlet: I’m not very creative in most ways, I guess like so many other people who will answer this, mine would have to be makeup!
Awww! That mug sounds SO cute! 🙂
Have a blast seeing the Nashville cast perform!
Haul: Some Paula’s Choice skincare stuff! Nothing big this week.
Weekend plans: Shopping with mom and chilling with my family.
What’s your creative outlet?: Aside from makeup, painting and cooking. Just started cooking healthy recipes and it’s so much fun combining tastes. It’s like makeup, but instead of combining colours and details to make a look, you’re combining tastes and foods to make a yummy dish! And I just started painting… Not very good, but it is so satisfying and therapeutic to just paint whatever you see or feel.
I really need to try some Paula’s Choice! Any recs?
I really recommend the Resist Line. They have one line for dry to normal and one for normal to oily. Honestly, just pick your skin type and go with what you need because everything is fab!! The standouts for me are the Resist 2% BHA, and her weekly 4% BHA Foam, which really keep my pores in check. And her weekly 10% AHA is also awesome to exfoliate the skin, and is much gentler than a scrub. Her Resist Super Light Wrinkle Defense is an amazing sunscreen. Also BHA 9 is great to quickly kill any pimples and blackheads.
Thank you, Sarah! 🙂
Haul: my mufe palettes arrived, finding they have a bit of a learning curve for me
Weekend plans: Mother’s Day, seeing a friend from hs, walking
Creative outlet: abstract art
Hey Bronwyn,
I use 239s with Make Up For Ever, if that helps at all! I’ve also used a 242 (flatter, synthetic brush) and that has worked!
Haul: I got an Ulta gift card for my birthday last week and I used it a couple days ago to get Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. I love, love the color theme of this palette so much! I got Ulta’s current birthday gift too, a mini UD pencil liner in Voodoo.
Plans: nothing! Some relaxing I guess. In France Mother’s Day is the last Sunday of May.
Creative outlet: makeup, my blog, and sometimes I do some paper crafting. I should do more of that really because I enjoy it.
Yay for birthday goodies, Lulle! 🙂
Haul: Basically ColourPop – 3 e/s, 1 lippie stick, 3 blushes, 4 highlighters
Weekend plans: Clean the house for Mother’s Day & Mother’s Day
What’s your creative outlet?: Right now just make up. Every once in a while I’ll start drawing or writing again but lately I’m just not feeling it…I’m in a slump.
Nice ColourPop haul, Diana! 🙂
my sephora vib haul.
tarte tartallete been lemming for a long time,
ysl rouge volupte 3, i intend to buy every flattering rouge volupte out there, it is my fav ls. but i think there arent’ any more left. and i only have 3. this color, will get repurchased, beautiful nude for me.
becca poured in opal, first i looked at it, it was so dark and i thought they sent me the wrong one and that the opal that i know of the liquid doesn’t correspond to the poured but then i compared against your review and it is correct.
kevyn aucoin starlight, it’s small packaging for something that costs so much. first ka product i own. only used the ysl ls as for now.
i wanted to buy the viseart eye palette but i held off and it went out of stock, eh i’ll buy it in fall, i do’nt sweat missing out on anything anymore.
i wanted to buy a couple of nars audacious ls, i took them out of basket, i’ll buy them later i guess, ive been postponing buyin them since they came out. i’ve been buying makeup sicne 2010 and i still own zero nars ls. odd.
i gotta put a kibosh on my makeup buying. i bought 3 mac last week at cco, and i bought blackgroung back up at cco alongwith another color paint pot that i cant recall. iv’e only used blakcogroud twice and i still bought a backup cos it was on sale. still trying to drop the back up buying habit.
So glad you were finally able to get the Tartelette palette — hope it was worth the wait 🙂
Haul: Nothing! I have a staggeringly long wish list!
Plans: None, mom is far away!
Creative Outlet: Other than my blog, I don’t have one ATM.
Have a great weekend, Erin!
Haul: Mac girl on board lipglass and crisp whites blush from wash and dry collection, really wanted the highlighter but had sold out. Also picked up Estée Lauder double wear and Armani eyes to kill in rock sand. A little treat for my teenage daughter urban decays pulp fiction palette.
Weekend plans: staying in with the family and keeping dry, it’s aways raining in UK at the moment
What’s your creative outlet: make up, nails Hand made cards and being creative with my 1 year old
Great Wash & Dry haul, Rachel! Crisp Whites is pretty close to the highlighter in color at least 🙂
I have a question: how were you able to get some of the Wash and Dry Collection early? Because there are 2 items that I really want to get! Just curious about whether I can do it sooner than next week.
Hi, Nancy T, I’m in the UK and the collection was released here last week. UK stockists which possibly ship abroad are selfridges, John Lewis, house of Fraser, debenhams. Everything on the Mac website sold out within an hour or two. Good luck hope you get the items you want!
Thank you so much for this info, Rachel! I had forgotten that most of MAC le collections are available approximately 1 week earlier in the UK, as a result, I misunderstood and thought it was a ‘pre-buy’.
Haul: NOTHING!!! Sephora still hasn’t received the MUFE #1 palette (unless they’re lying to me; I’m on the verge of calling another store!).
Weekend plans: I told hubs that all I want for Mothers Day is a buffet brunch with my kids (well, the 2 who are nearby), MIL, Sis in law and her kids and anyone else who wants to stop by. He’s making the brunch and he’s not exactly competent in the kitchen, so we shall see… but the plan is Saturday gym and/or yoga and Sunday, brunch.
What’s your creative outlet: sewing! I love to sew my own clothes and have things that are different from what’s in all the stores. Some of the indi patterns from Loes Hinse, Christine Jonson and The Sewing Workshop are both simple to sew and also unique. I have several versions of a “suit” I made using a jacket pattern from Loes Hinse and skirt pattern from Christine Jonson. They feel like wearing sweats but look elegant and I am always asked “Where did you buy that?” whenever I wear any of them.
Gah! Hope they get it in soon.
Here’s hoping that brunch is… edible 😉 It’ll be the thought that counts? Have a great mother’s day brunch, Mariella!
Labs are such giant babies, aren’t they? 🙂
Haul: I was a bad, bad girl. I hauled Dior Contraste Horizon palette (which I’m highly impressed with btw), Coral Sunrise blush and Tropiques Fluid Stick, as well as three of the new Tom Ford eye cream duos and Skinnydip lipstick. That weeping sound you hear is my wallet.
Weekend plans: Going to escape the city and spend the weekend at a friend’s parents’ house in the country.
Creative outlets: Knitting, sewing, makeup
They sure are! 🙂
Happy to hear you’re digging in the new Dior palette!
Awww! Mellan is totally irresistible! My one kitty, Pookie, pleads with me too, lol!
Haul: MUFE Artist Palette in Nudes You Need ( can hardly wait to play with it today!), Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick 100 yr. Anniversary in “Strike A Rose”.
Weekend plans: my usual routine, plus some food shopping. Wishing I could go visit with my 2 little grand-daughters!
What is your creative outlet: Makeup, photography ( mostly of my 3 kitties, and of nature), and I use to LOVE writing song lyrics, too.
Have fun with your MUFE palette!! 🙂
Oooh, I love these!!! They blend like buttah!
Haul: RCMA foundation palette and Bioderma H2O
Weekend: Going to Martha’s Vineyard Wine Festival and spending the weekend. Fiance won a sales contest at work (he works with wine) and I get to real the benefits!
Creative Outlet: gardening and my little kindergarten babies who keep me busy all day with lots of learning projects! 🙂
Have a blast at the festival! 🙂 I bet that’s a really cool one!
Haul: L’oreal Excellence HiColor in Magenta (my hair turned out great!). UD eyeshadow in Fireball, Sideline, Freelove and Roach. OCC pencils in Hoochie, Anime, Tarred and Pool Boy. OCC lip tars in Hoochie, Anime and Lovecraft (metallic).
Weekend plans: Hubby surprised me with a weekend at the Oregon coast for Mother’s Day.
What’s your creative outlet?: Knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts in general, home decorating, and makeup (of course).
YAY! Magenta!!
Wouldn’t be able to say no to him, he’s adorable 🙂
Haul: nothing. My no-buy might not survive meeting MAC Wash & Dry collection, though. I adore the packaging, and one of the lipsticks calls to me. Hopefully won’t like it when I swatch it! 😉
Weekend plans: going to the city to do some shopping and window shopping 😉
What’s your creative outlet?: Writing!
It is tough to say no to him when he’s putting his all into his “but say yes, mommy” face 😉
Have a great time in the city, Moireach!
I know, I couldn’t say no to my lab when she did that, too 🙂
I had, thank you! Of course, there went my no-buy…
Not giving into fur babies is hard! I just gave into my kitty and gave him some fish from my fishsticks (he looooves fish).
I was thinking good on me for not having a haul this weekend, but oh yeah, I just picked up my stuff from Nordstrom for triple points. Oops.
Haul: Jo Malone candle (my 1st!) in LE scent white lilac & rhubarb, CHANEL MÉDITERRANÉE LUMIERE D’ETE Illuminating Powder, MAC 239 brush, Laura Mercier rose oil, paint wash liquid lip in sunblaze (summer collection) and extra lash sculpting mascara (new!).
Weekend plans: cousin’s 30th bday party, Mother’s Day brunch
Creative outlet: makeup, fashion, music, movies, reading
239! One of my all-time favorites. Hope you love it 🙂
Haul : MAC’s Antiqued Eyeshadow
Weekend Plans : Cherry picking, and a music concert!
Creative Outlet : Writing!
Antiqued is such a great shade!
Hi! 🙂 I never realized what a snuggle long snout he has! Must be a sniffer type! Awesome haul! I was initially disappointed I decided against 005, but your review doesn’t justify the price for me. It looks like that LC color so many love, but more milky. What is similar in the hydrating creamy range? Whatever the regular range you identified as better is…
Haul: I guess my most recent goodies included the 10 new MJB Highligner additions, Hourglass Bronzer in the Luminous Color, NARS Starscape blush, UD Afterglow 24/7(?) blush in Quickie, Hourglass brow pencil thing which I’m not sure about keeping, an I.T. Cosmetics Ball Wand powder brush, it’s very similar to my favorite MJB Bronzer Brush I use with powder, so I had to try it at that lowered price and it’s great, not exactly MJB, but I love it… MJB Lipliner, Armani CC rouge lipstick in Lotus, of course, :), an MJB brush #2, backups of Clarins lip comfort oil, and the SR Bionic. I made a ton of returns, am awaiting my ebates check, and wanted to do retail therapy to sooth my stress. 😀 a Oh! I forgot I also hauled a perfume that smells exactly like my favorite charmkin from my youth, if you remember those from long ago..they were great! And of course I shopped for my mom! I never shop for myself without pampering her, and it’s about to be Mother’s Day! There were a few other things and I’m waiting on them along with funds for medicine and another haul.. But that’s what I can contribute now. It’s my birthday month! It marks living an entire decade longer than was expected! 🙂
Favorite Creative Outlet: I have so many and sure, it depends on my mood, but I honestly think I approach everything as creatively as possible because it helps bring levity into life! It is always colorful, musical, and artistic in some way, for sure! 🙂 Makeup is great! 🙂 Movies, writing.. Eating.. All done creatively 🙂 I’m eccentric so I can’t really be any other way. 🙂
Have a great weekend, all! <3
Yep! He has a big nose that loves to sniff!
I really don’t think it’s worth $36. I think there are other lavender-ish shades that are nicer, and I’m sure at least one will work sheered out, mixed with a lil’ balm or something like that. Happy to hear you grabbed the new MJB eyeliners – I thought of you when I saw ten new ones!
Hahaha! Aww, thank you for thinking of me! I do love them more than anything! I only ordered them from MJB’s website, though. They give great extras! 😀 I didn’t even have to think, I was just magically there after ordering them all, then I had time to reflect and it made me happy! I’m having so much fun with them! 🙂 Sheering out Dominique is a good idea! I never thought of that! But I’ve also not hit ORDER for hours.. FYI: on me, Dominique makes a lovely mid tone bubblegum pink color! I really wanted it for its name and the memories attached. My favorite in the lavenders category is by far Kevin Aucoin’s matte lipstick in Persistence! I have 2! 😀
I’d order from MJB, but shipping through Sephora is three times as fast, lol!
Oh, you’re not alone, Christine. I’ve sat for hours wondering where my confirmation emails are.. I laughed when I read what you did with Chanel! I’ve done that too often! Haha!! 😀 I’m glad you figured it out, though, and without having to call customer service for help! That has made me feel so stupid! 😛
Awwwww!
Indeed. So please don’t feel badly! I laughed mao every time so it’s all good! 🙂
Lipstick haul: Dose of Colors Black Rose, Lasplash Malevolent, Ravenclaw, Love Good and Nymph-Adora; Lime Crime Riot and Salem (guilty), MAC Smoked Purple and Soar Lip Pencil.
What lip product are you going to use first?
Haul: NOTHING. I had THREE lipstick shades on my wishlist, and when I went to order them, all of the shades were discontinued. From separate brands! I feel like the term “permanent” is way overused anymore. 🙁
Weekend plans: Work. So. much. work.
What’s your creative outlet?: I wish makeup was still an outlet, but I’ve gotten incredibly lazy. It’s usually reading at this point.
OH no!! 🙁
Haul: GWP NYX: mascara, pallets, eyeliner, blush
Wet n wild: cabana light bronzer
Pixi: color corrective concealer
Rommel: Kate moss in o8
Some other drug store stuff…
Weekend: clean, shop.
Seeing mom next weekend. Happy Mothers Day all!
So glad you’re going to get to see your mom soon, Carolyn! 😀

Phew! a few items are from last week but I hit a lot of great deals this week, so time to stock up!
Weekend plans: Mother’s Day with in laws, hopefully BBQ chops w/pear,apple garam masala chutney at our house. Tried to arrange a trip to see my family but my baby got sick 🙁
What’s your creative outlet?: WHEN i have time – makeup, making jewelry, taking photos, sewing. I’d like to add sketching in there too, but I haven’t felt the call to draw in a loooong time 🙁 Been really into interior decorating lately.
LOL! Great haul, Brenda! What are your top 3 must-haves from Yves Rocher?
Lagoon hair & Body wash! Not really a must have but I buy it every year. I’m going back for a few more. I even had it in my hospital bag for baby #2 (for me, not him lol). One of my all time fave mascaras is the pink tube, Lash Plumping mascara. Seriously though, if I had to pick my top 3 skincare:
Elixir 7.9, Youth Intensifier serum (love the whole line)
Hydra Vegetal, 24 hr Rich Hydrating cream (or the 24hr Intense Hydrating gel)
Serum Vegetal (wrinkles & radiance) Perfect Toning Lotion. (has a mild exolifating effect). I tend to go for toners that are for mature skin (40+, I am 35) and sensitive to lessen the possibility of reactions/burns when they are an exfoliating type. And absolutely NEVER with alcohol.
I love their Elixir 7.9 line. It’s a good overall age prevention line. I have had the Youth Intensifier serum, one of their best sellers, and I really liked it. I’m using Vichy serum thermale at the moment but I’m going to pick this up again next time I go in. I also really like the Hydra Vegetal products for day use, personally. I like a lighter feel for daytime and do my heavier “work” at night.
I am branching out this time for my night cream, on the store director’s recommendation to address fine lines, dullness and very reactive/sensitive skin. I like that the night cream I purchases is a bit heavier. I feel like it’s really going to do a good job LOL. Once I run out of my current day fluid/cream I’ll purchase either something from the Hydra vegetal or the Elixir line.
Thank youuuuu! 🙂 Time to go look into these recs!
Mellan is so cute!
Haul, my no buy got on a hiatus this week as Marc Jacobs Beauty finally arrived to my part of the world. I got (Plum)age, Genious Gel Foundation and The Starlet eyeshadow palette. I’m really liking my MJ purchases a lot.
I also happened to pass a MAC counter and felt a need to stock up on some basic eyeshadows, Smut, Brun, Omega, Copperplate, Knight Divine, Electra and Moons Reflection. I also got Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipgloss.
And from Kiehl’s Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream and Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector SPF 30. Kiehl’s certainly have long names for their products 🙂 I felt a bit of a need for some sunscreen, and easy fixes for “those” mornings. I like the products, I don’t really like the scent of the BB Cream, though.
I also got a shimmery bodylotion and some hand lotions from Rituals and a hand lotion from NUXE.
Weekend plans. Nothing really.
Creative outlet, well, I suppose it must be makeup, but I also like pottery, sewing, gardening and quite a lot more.
Oooh! So glad MJB finally came to your part of the world, Helene!
Haul: Rimmel Stay Matte primer, Simple Beauty facial cleanser, TooFaced Chocolate palette, and a few ColourPop items (shadows, blush, lippy stick)
Weekend plans: errands, art festival, relax; Mother’s Day with my mom and grandma
Creative outlet: writing, makeup, nail polish
Hope you had a nice Mother’s Day!
Plans : bulls game with the mommy
Haul : the makeup forever palettes and nars concealer ( oh and the 500 point perk that wasn’t too bad for once )
Hope you had fun at the game, Jazz!
Haul: I got the MAC bits I ordered last week from the Wash & Dry collection, Crisp Whites blush, Morange lippie, Warm Wash eyeshadow. I also got the Tom Ford eyeshadow quad in Cognac. I’ve been dithering about getting it for about two years now, lol, since I tried it at the airport (long layover). House of Fraser had double loyalty points and 10% off on beauty, so that seemed like an ideal time. And I got a couple bits from the new Illamasqua summer collection, the sparkly blue nail varnish and sparkly sheer blue lipgloss.
Weekend: went to a vintage fair yesterday and a VE Day street party, which was mostly a sedate gathering with a swing band. Nice way to spend the afternoon, though. Today, went to see Spooks: The Greater Good film. Great spy flick.
Creative outlet: makeup, fashion, writing, making jewellery, other crafts, colouring.
Oh, and I forgot about the YSL! I got a Voluptué Tint in Oil – can’t think of the number, but it’s pale gold when it comes out of the tube. It deepens to a lovely warm golden apricot on me. And the Touche Eclat Blur Balm-Powder, which is really interesting, and actually does refresh my foundation when applied over top some hours later.
Yay! Morange!
Now, you’ll have to let us know if Cognac was worth the two year wait 😉
Who could not love that dog? Those gentle eyes!
True 😀
