I love when popular products are put together into a kit, either as a value set, or in smaller, try-me sizes. Like OCC’s Lip Tar Mini Kits or Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powder Palette!

Try-me and mini kits are great! I rarely finish a colour product so I prefer smaller sizes. I also like the pretty packaging that so often accompanies holiday collections. I’m a sucker for a pretty/sparkly/glamorous palette or packaging (eg. I want the Estee Lauder ultimate colour box just because the lip products have tiny gold stars on the tubes!).
I like mini kits too.. as I know I would never e able to finish any full sized product!
Also, the palettes are so easy to carry along, Sleek, accesorize, iNGLOT palettes is what I love.. 🙂
I like Holiday Palettes and mini kits of popular products. Many times holiday palettes are very temping. Esp from Too faced and UD. I am looking forward for them this year too..
I love palettes that coordinate colors for me, like the smaller Too Faced eyeshadow boxes. I’m so lousy at doing it on my own.
Love all the holiday palettes ths year but favorite are UD Vice 2 and Too Faced All of my Favorite Things
Another vote for mini kits because, as others have commented, I simply never finish anything except foundation and concealer and the occasional lipstick. Having said that, eye shadow palettes always seem to grab my attention (and my wallet), which probably explains why I never finish an eye shadow or even hit pan.
I love the gift sets from Sephora, like Lash Stash, etc. I like how you can try mascaras from a bunch of different brands instead of keeping it to one brand. Although my favorite set is the one for cheeks and I don’t think they are doing it this year. Sad.
Kits with a lot of variety. I already picked up the Tarte kit from Ulta. Normally, I avoid huge palettes because they are bulky. However, this set includes four quads, each with its own blush, that can be removed from the larger palette into a small travel palette. One quad is shimmery neutrals, one is good for smokey looks, one has neutrals plus a green shadow, and one has neutrals plus a teal shadow. There is a good assortment of shimmers and mattes too and every quad has a highlight shade, a deep shade for a smokier look and 2 midtones. The shadows are full size and the blushes are almost full size. The set also includes 3 full sized glosses. I still wish the box were smaller but the kit is awesome. I’ve also picked up both Sephora lip kits (Give me Some Lips and Give me More Lips). Of the two, I prefer the Give me Some Lips. It is am amazing value.
I have my eye on a few other sets as well. I am pretty sure that I will snag 1-2 sets during the VIB sale.
I tend to go crazy during the holiday season and buy many of the palettes and value sets. The OCC mini’s are new and I’m excited to get them. I love the Ciate and other brands sets of mini nail polish bottles. Nail polishes are the twinkies of beauty, and I’d rather have small amounts of lots of colors over a bunch of .5 oz bottles. It’s a space saver and I’ll never use up a full bottle of color, so the the mini’s suit me just fine. I’ve already bought this years Ciate mini mani set (I bought it blindly since last years sold out so fast and I didn’t want to miss it this year) and I know I’ll probably be buying the Deborah Lippmann mini set too..
i love palettes or value sets of things.
I like kits that have the regular products bundled together at a value price, maybe in a smaller size (but not minuscule because I pass on those). I also like new offerings if the quality is there. That’s a big IF because often large palettes are put out that are below the quality level of the regular priced products. I do love palettes though. I feel like I’m getting more for my money, and honestly I don’t mind if an eyeshadow is a smaller size because it’s unlikely that I’ll finish it in any event. I find the holidays to be the best time to shop for makeup because you can really get some great deals on quality products, so I save up for this time of year.
I like try-me palettes that include popular and high quality products. The Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powder Palette is a perfect example. I also wish there were more palettes that just seem SPECIAL, like made for special-occasion looks that one can wear around the holidays and when they want to look extra schnazzy. Super sparkly finishes and colors in champagne, copper, golds, silver, white and brown and black (with sparkles) come to mind for eyeshadows.
I love eyeshadow palettes. If they throw in coordinating blush / highlighter, that’s great, but primarily I want eyeshadows.
I love the Laura mercier artist palette!
Collabs! Shu Uemura x Takashi Murakami is so cute, I’m stalking Selfridges and waiting for the Shu USA site to put them up Nov 1! I will likely get the Benefit Advent Calendar, I won one of their contests so will get to have a shopping spree 🙂 I agree with the minis too, it takes me 1,000 years to finish a full size blush.
Great minds think alike!! ^_^ The OCC Lip Tar set and Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette were the only holiday products I’ve been interested in this season.
I’ve really been eyeing the Tarte and Too Faced holiday kits! I don’t own a lot of either brand and I like that their holiday collections include so many items to try in one kit/palette!
I don’t have a preference exactly, I like value sets (like the lip bags MAC puts out sometimes), because it entices me to try new things, and they’re often the right size and price to give as a gift. I’m not a huge fan of the massive, blockbuster with bells on palettes a lot of brands pump out because a lot of the time they’re absurdly big and expensive and the quality is variable or poor. I’ve been given a couple of those types of thing over the years and I wasn’t impressed (however I’m still tempted by the Vice 2 palette). I don’t like lipgloss sets, mostly because I don’t like lipgloss, but also because 12 sheer glosses just seems a bit pointless, and a lot of the kits I’ve seen reviewed over the years fit that mold.
I love mini kits, because the only products I have ever finished are foundation and lip balms. I love mini lip palettes. I’m not a big fan of holiday kits because I usually only want 1-2 of the products instead of all of them (dunno why though) and I like certain mini kits because its a great way to try popular products and have things on the go.
I love holiday palettes, especially with luxurious packaging. I recently bought UD’s Shattered palette, right after reading your review. It arrived today and i’m so happy with it!
Either skincare and cosmetics OR
trial palettes of regular products formulated per the original formula OR
That something special. Don’t know how to describe it – but something that draws me in.
