Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Shine Lipstick Swatches (x12)

Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Shine Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a new lipstick formula available in 20 shades (eight appear to be exclusive to the brand’s website). I bought the 12 that I saw available at Ulta, which are swatched below! I may pick up the remaining ones if they end up reviewing well and/or if there’s a sale in the future (always have a fair amount of lip products to review in the queue!).

The new formula is supposed to have “sheer to medium, buildable” coverage with “glistening shine.” They seem promising, but the amount they contain is quite small; traditional twist-up lipsticks tend to be more 0.10 to 0.14 oz., and while slim-style lipsticks tend to be less, they are usually 0.08 to 0.09 oz.

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I have this in Genius and like but don’t love it. Too many brands are doing a great job with the sheer, shiny, buildable lipstick (Fenty’s Slip Shine being my number one) to spend money on something that isn’t really good in my opinion. Maybe your experience (or some of the other colors) will be different, though.

Even though I really do love a couple of these, the amount given for $32 seems like a rip-off. Only .06 is paltry. Yet, Born Flirt and Astonishing are just my taste. I’ll be checking out their respective dupes.

Estee Lauder generally has good quality lipsticks and these look lovely – especially Persuasive. I do think a couple look very similar to each other and you are getting a lot less product for your dollar than the average lipstick.

I added Social Butterfly to my Ulta Favorites list the day they showed up on the site but there weren’t any swatches. Seeing it on you is really helpful and I’m going to get it with my next order. Thank you!
