Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess: Pink-Teal Shadowstick Duo

Estee Lauder Pink-Teal Shadowstick Duo ($20.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a limited edition, double-ended, jumbo-sized pencil from the Bronze Goddess collection.  Estee Lauder describes it as “intense, stay-true color [that’s] long-wearing with a high-shimmer metallic finish.”  It can be applied on the lash line as eyeliner or on the lid as an eyeshadow.  It’s actually about twice the size of an eyeliner, so there is plenty of product to go around here.

The teal side is a green-teal, while the pink side is more of a peach-pink with a frosted, golden sheen.  The pink side reminded me of NARS Orgasm–just pinker.  It’s actually a really lovely lid color for something quick and easy when you just want to swipe one color on the lid and go.  I also tested these as an eyeshadow base (check out the look), and they were flawless–no creasing or fading, and they helped to keep my eyeshadows looking their best from beginning to end.  I wore both shades as my eyeshadow base for twelve hours.

I wasn’t surprised, though, because the texture of these is creamy but not as emollient as a true cream eyeshadow.  For more even application, I prefer to apply this haphazardly on the lid and then take a stubby but fluffy brush (I like MAC’s 213) to diffuse the color.  I recommend working on one lid at a time, because this product dries down quickly and even initially, it isn’t the most blendable product.  You may find that using fingers can help move the product (because of the heat), but I still needed a brush to get the product closer to the lash line and around the inner corner.   These glide onto the lid and don’t tug or drag, but once it’s on the lid, it does set quickly.

I bought both the pink teal and the gold bronze in these, and I think Estee Lauder should make a line of them. I really do adore how blendable and soft they are along with staying power.

For me, it’s the best of both worlds of the 24/7 Shadow Pencils and the NYX Jumbo Pencils, I like them both, but one is sometimes -too- creamy and blendable, and the other stays put so well that I feel I need more time to play with blending.

have you checked out the other duo pencil for this launch? cause when i opened it and saw those bronzy gold shades (and they are SO PREEEETTTY!!!) i thought of you instantly! i think i even said, “oooh! christine would love this!” hah!

…which, now that i think about it… is sort of bizarre that i talk about you OUT LOUD as if i’d know exactly what you like. :/ lol

LOL! I did see it when I went online, and I was tempted to try but by the time I reviewed the launch, I was like, “Nah, it’s too late!”

Although the pink side is sooo up my alley.

haha! you probably have something similar already in your stash i’m sure 🙂 and i agree, the pink is quite pretty. i like it for highlighting the brow bone or the cupids bow. it makes a very shimmery and frosty lipcolor as well – looks good with right gloss on top of it.

i wish they made at least three more of these and put them in their perm lineup. i thought they were pretty snazzy 🙂

It can be a little frustrating, but I usually just get excited and the LE factor makes it almost more fun to me… But these… These I would REALLY love to see in a range of colors. They done good with this one 🙂 I should start a letter-writing campaign 🙂 lol

the pencil itself looked sort of cheap, but the color swatches are gorgeous! EL should’ve tried to match the color on the sides of the pencil to how they actually look! I would never have tried this one just by looking at the pencil!

the colours look perfect together! and they really don’t seem to look like they have dupes – i also kind of like how the colours look slightly ‘faded’. i love coloured eyeliner and this looks tempting!

They glide on the same and have the same pigmentation, and you have maybe a couple seconds more to blend out the Estee Lauder one than UD!

Loving the crease-proof eyeshadows, so many excellent quality products cropping up! This one will make up for the lack of pinks in Urban Decay’s shadow pencil range <3

These wear better than NYX, and I think I mentioned in the post FAQ, but NYX pencils don’t dupe these two shades!

I like that it doesn’t cost more than a UD 24/7 shadow pencil, but it’s still kind of pricey. I love the colors, very unique. I may have to get it. Are there more colors?

Thanks for doing this review, Christine! I’ve been dying to go out and buy a single of Urban Decay’s X eyeshadow ever since I saw your Alice in Wonderland palette review. The pink side on this pencil seems to be really similar, though, so I might get this since it’s more versatile. How close do you think they are? I know that they’re not exactly the same type of product, but I’d probably be using both as eyeshadows.
