Shape + Sculpt Face Kit ($50.00) (New)

Create an ideal facial framework with New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Face Kit. This intuitive contour kit contains two tones that instantly and expertly sculpt the face. Two coordinated cream shades brighten and contour to add depth and dimension. The light tone accents cheekbones, brows and the nose by bringing light to the center of the face. The dark shade slims and sculpts to emphasize the hollows of cheeks and create shadows where desired.

Shape + Sculpt Eye Kit ($40.00) (New)

The expertly coordinated trio contour kit plays with shading and finish to create depth and dimension. The universal palette smoothes, contours and highlights with a Smoothing Base, a Contour Shade and a Highlighter Cream. Pass. Use the marketing hype word, “contour” and come up with an eye contour product no one needs. Every eye palette ever made has lighter, midrange and deeper shades– with color. I don’t see the point. Plus $25 for an EL eye shadow single does not attract me when for the price of 3, I am in TF eye quad range– dream on, Estee Lauder!

They severely needed to update their single eyeshadow offerings though… you know that Estee makes Tom Fords line right? Not that I’m aging their case well because I actually don’t like Tom Fords quads LOL! But you see formulas trickle down often… Tom Ford has released a few old MAC formulas (with a bit of a price jump of course).

Yeah…I’m pretty sure in 2008, EL eyeshadow singles were around $17. $25 just doesn’t seem like a realistic price point for them.

Hmm…Priced a bit high for a brand that has been out of the limelight for some time IMO. I think they made a great move with their Pure Color Envy lipsticks. I love them in the original formula and the “shine” version. I would be very interested in reviews. I have paid these prices for other brands. But, it has to be in the A range, hit it out of the park. $25 for a single shadow? Can you top Mufe? Is always my question and soon hoping it will be Viseart palettes as well. The contour kit, that is priced higher than the MJB kit I believe?. Idk, I think this may have a narrow following unless it is just stellar.

They are constantly re-making their eyeshadows! Remember when they were in cubes like ice? Half circles, rectangles, squares, etc.??? There doesn’t seem to be much of a difference though..

I think Estee Lauder is trying too hard to attract a younger market, between coming out with contour products, hiring one of the Jenners, and that weird collection with all the white packaging. I”m not going to fault them for trying to branch out but anyone who is looking for contouring isn’t going to go to Estee Lauder.

Yeah, I’m so over this contour thing, and an eye contour kit sounds ridiculous – isn’t that what shadow is for? But I’m eyeing the singles. I normally prefer to buy kits, as singles are too expensive, but if some of the purples and blues perform well, I might pick one up. Love the mirror and applicator, makes touch ups easy!

Little info:
The eyeshadows come in three forms, Matte, Brilliant and luminous – the color pay off is a lot stronger than the previous solos which were a little cheaper (and you couldn’t use wet which you can with these which arn’t matte). These were brought out in line with the new Envy range which started out with the lipsticks – the older ones were part of Pure Color which seems to be slowly getting discontinued one line at a time.

The contour for eyes kit has 3 things,
The first is a smoothing base – really good for under concealer but you can use it all over your eye – it also smooths wrinkles in older skin. kinda like a primer.
The second is like a creamy highlighter for under your brow bone and the the inner eye.
And the last is a matte shadow in a super natural tone for the crease. Perfect if you like to put bronzer in your eye crease or if the skin is sagging slightly.

Estee lauder obviously sells double wear – super popular with younger market (ala contour palette)

hope this answers any q’s (im a major fan)

I’m not interested in the contour products. The eye shadows are spendy for singles, but Emerald Envy looks stunning. I’d be interested in swatches.

Hmmm, $25 for a single eyeshadow is rather steep unless it’s flawless A+ material, as in say, Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in say, Calisto. And they can just forget their 2 pan face and 3 pan eye “contouring” kits getting my interest.

Cat Avatar

These singles, which can be used wet or dry, contain .06 oz for $25. The NARS Dual Intensity shadows contain 0.05 oz for $29. So, these are less expensive than the NARS singles… but are they going to preform as well? Are they comparable to the Dual Intensity shadows? I’m curious. =)
