Estee Lauder Chained Shadow Paint
A New Long-Wearing Eyeshadow from Estee Lauder
Estee Lauder Chained Shadow Paint ($24.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a warm, coppery brown with a golden champagne shimmer-sheen. Wet ‘n’ Wild Sparkle ‘Til Morning #7 is slightly browner, less coppery, and it is a powder product. Cinderella Drizella is slightly browner and a powder product. Make Up For Ever #12 is slightly more coppery but is similar when sheered out.
This shade applied fairly well; it was more prone to sheering out and didn’t want to build to fully opaque color, but it was very even in color overall. Depending on your skin tone, it may work well as a barely-there wash of color or to add definition to the outer lid/crease area. When I wore it alongside Halo, it lasted a full twelve hours without fading or creasing. It has a thin, creamy consistency that blended out easily on the lid. Despite its very wet-feel, once it dries down, it’s totally set for the rest of the day. The drying time on this shade was about average; not too long, not too short. I had enough time to maneuver and play with placement without it setting instantly.

Beautiful shade. Too bad it’s not as perfect as Halo, but still sounds pretty good
I am really interested in these. I am not really a fan of the color tattoos. I find them too dry and draggy. Do you think these might be a good option for me?
I think so – they are a bit wetter/creamier.
Gorgeous color. It almost looks like it has a thick gel consistency from your swatch photo. Very interesting!
I think EL is really evolving. This eyeshadow line looks great! How does it compare with Bobbi Brown’s Longwear Cream Shadows, MAC Paint Pots and Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Shadows? Which one’s the best in your opinion?
Honestly, in general, they all wear well on me, but with Estee Lauder, some work better than others. The shades with less sparkle/glitter do the best. I’ve had the best luck (consistently) across Benefit’s, though.
i wonder if this shade will be too warm for my eyes, but I’ll definitely take a look at this one and Halo! 🙂 I love how these sound!
