Does your makeup routine change for spring?

Nope, it doesn’t! I’m indoors most of the time, so changes in seasons (usually a weather-related change) don’t usually end up trickling into my routine.

I gravitate more towards pinks in spring than I do in the wintertime, when I’m more likely to rock reds or berries or neutrals (whether blush or lipstick).

I think that switch is less about feeling pressured by seasonal makeup trends and more that I’m just feeling cheerful and springy after a long winter, though. πŸ™‚

I don’t do seasonal make-up, I wear simply what I like. If I change anything, it’s maybe adding a primer that has SPF (to add a little bit more on top of my suncreen) or start using a SPF retouch powder when I’m outdoors for a long time and wear make-up (although I haven’t found the perfect one yet).

I wear a more matifying foundation (I’m a greaseball in the spring/summer) and my e/s color schemes go more floral and bright. Lips and cheeks therefore adjusted accordingly. Also more shiny highlight ?

I get a little tan in the warmer months despite sunscreen, and my palette shifts a bit because of it. Browns, shimmer and brighter color overall looks better then, and fits the feeling of spring and summer for me.

The reds go out and the pinks, peaches and corals come in as far as lips and I gravitate more towards wearing a gloss instead of a lipstick. Eyes and cheeks go a bit softer and I start bringing in a tinted moisturizer or BB creme instead of a full fledged foundation.

Yes, I tend to wear slightly more colorful eyeshadow designs, and I break out the bronzer πŸ™‚ also prefer wearing lighter, glossier lip products instead of a heavier liquid lip in spring and summer. I’m a regular Bare Minerals powder foundation user, preferring the Matte finish in Fall/Winter and the Original finish for Spring/Summer.

Yes, in the winter I use more cream products as my skin tends to be drier then. Shade wise, I go with cool tones, berries, mauves. In the spring I like peachy or coral tones. I wear very little makeup in the summer, and love the simplicity of the blush/bronzer/highlight combo I get from Too Faced Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer. Moving into fall I like using bronzer, to keep the summer β€œtan” look going a little longer, but transition into the cool tones as the weather gets cooler.
