Do you prefer gold or silver in your color cosmetics?

I definitely prefer and reach for gold-leaning products over silver-leaning products. I like dirty golds, like pewter, or silvery-taupes, but pure silver it’s not a color I gravitate toward.

In eyeshadows, definitely gold (witness my most recent ecstasy over finding Buxom’s 24KT Gold Stilettos!), though I do love silvery taupes so maybe both??? In highlighters for my face, definitely more silver or at least cool leaning (the old UD Aura, for example; I have Sin also but Aura looks more natural with my cool toned skin).

I sure do – I’ve 2 that were either LE or discontinued – by Dior. One was a Glowing Gardens one (it came in a cooler tone – Glowing Pink – and a more golden version and I got the cool one) and a short time later, they came out with “Nude Air Luminizer” which I got in shade 002, which is a very light pink. Becca (now no longer available) had 2 lovely cool toned powder highlighters – Pearl and Rose Quartz (I only recently got this latter one and got it marked down to a very affordable price). All of these are very cool shades and I’m thinking that Dior must still have a cool toned highlighter in its newest “re-re-release” of highlighters (though why they keep changing is beyond me!)

Tough call. I can’t do straight pure silver, but I can do grungey dirty taupe silvers. And the most “natural” highlighters on my skin have some silver or silvery white aspect (ie mac’s double-gleam). I can wear pure gold ok, but I’d also rather reach for a dirty gold.

Definitely both – but I lean towards the more grungier and deeper shades for silver – such as tarnished silver, greenish silvers, gunmetals, etc. For golds, I like them more antiquey, green leaning, rustic. I find that I have so much more gold than silvers in both jewelry and makeup and I think this is because gold is more popular because of its warm leaning tendencies – which tends to me more popular than cooler learning products.

Neither? I much more prefer rose-gold, copper, pewter gold like in Nars Kauai, and silver tinged taupes like those found in ND Glam Midi palette. But true hardcore gold or silver just aren’t my favorite metal shades. If I absolutely have to pick one, I’d say gold. But a softer gold like the one in Chanel Empriente du Desert is more my speed.

For me gold and silver stop of eyeshadows. I do like an antiqued gold and a gunmetal silver always in my collection, I think both suit me. But otherwise I avoid them, I wouldn’t wear a blush or highlighter or lipstick with hints of gold or silver.

Short answer silver, because I think it looks more natural against my skin. Long answer, depends what it is. Eyeshadow, both, but I like silver a bit more. Highlighter, I prefer pearl or white gold, so I guess a bit more like silver than a gold. Champagne, more towards gold is too warm for me, unless I really cancel out any redness in my cheeks. Lips, neither really, unless it’s part of the shimmer in a gloss. If it’s sheer, I’m good with both.
