Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Just recently I started a look book. It has been great when i`m tring to find a look for the day. Sometimes i just throw something on and it doesn`t look good.

Not at all. That would be a good idea, I guess but the best ones are still in my head and I now that I think of it, I usually take pics. SO I guess I do keep track. Lol

I write it down in a little book, along with what I’ve purchased, swaps I’ve done on MUA, etc. No pictures though, I very rarely get around to taking pictures of me when my make up is fresh, ie in the morning.

I have a notepad where I write down FOTDs I see on blogs, youtube or that I have made up myself. I find it really helps when you have about 100 eyeshadows in your collection and simply can’t remember what you have seen or done all the time.

I usually know the last time I did a certain color combination and I’ll mix it up but I don’t pay attention more than that.

Not on a conscious level. I only recall looks I did in the past when I take a look at my blog entries. Each new day is a new possibility to play with all my makeup.

not really…i do kinda have an idea of what i just did….and what i haven’t done in awhile…but i’m always looking for new ideas….the new ideas put in between the olders looks allows me to have a pretty good rotation when it comes to the colors and looks i do

Yep! I take a bunch of pictures, upload them to iphoto on my Mac, and create folders for each look and name them. Things like “kraft lipstick” or “vex and scene” and whatnot.

I do keep track of what makeup looks I come up with. I would wear it and then keep a mental note of how it looks. If it’s a thumbs up, then I would do it again. If not, then I know to not repeat that look or that combo.

heh! That’s what my blog is too! I am a fairly detail oriented person, so it bothers me not being able to remember what’s in things. Even before I blogged it, I took pictures. Took me a while to actually start a blog though, since I couldn’t get good pictures of anything, and I thought it might be egotistical to have one. It still took me encouragement from friends to make my blog public, and actually share the link.

Alejandra Avatar

Technically not since I mostly do the same look.I do tweak it with a different lipstick, eyeliner or what have you once in a while.I do have the ability to remember a different look I may do, but it’ not a biggie if I don’t.

Jen Avatar

Yes and no. Recently I’ve been trying to take pictures and post them daily but that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes I’ll tweet about my makeup if I don’t have time to do a picture/livejournal entry.

Dini Avatar

I never do, but I should start. Face charts or swatches or pictures. Something. Some impromptu looks I do are great and some are complete disasters. It would be great to be able to remember what’s what.

Jamie Fox Avatar

Most defiantly! I started my own blog to keep track and show my looks to my friends. The most flattering comment was when a friend told me she tried one of my looks. *Melt* =D

I keep track of the nail polish colors I wear, but not makeup. I usually do almost the exact same look for work, so it’s easy to remember the few exceptions.

Yes I have a folder in my computer with eye looks that I’ve tried and really like. My memory is not like it use to be so this is what I have to resort to. It works for me.

Abby Avatar

I have about 5 different eye looks that I love and have perfected over the years. They are my go to looks for certain occasions if I don’t have the time to be super creative. Other than that I pretty much wear a different combination everyday…I try not to wear the same combination (eyes, cheeks, lips) more than once so I don’t get bored!

Holly Avatar

No, but I should!

I want to start keeping track because I have this goal to use a different eyeshadow everyday until I have used all shadows that I own!
It’d take a while, but could be a fun experiment that produces some fun looks!

Mar Avatar

No, not really.
I have some sort of ‘signature’ look and sometimes I just switch colors. Mostly, I like a retro style with black, winged liner and red lippie.
