Me too. I always go back to the purple and loving it, no matter what outcome my experiments with other colors have.

Definitely having more fun with colorful looks, but my neutral looks are always somewhat colorful. I add a color liner or something like it.

neutrals because my eye shape just don’t suit bright color e/s BUT with neutral eyes, i love playing with bright colored lipsticks, bright reds, fushia, hot pinks, without any hesitation.

Me too! I always buy colorful shadows but most don’t look right on me. So I go for neutrals with a liquid liner and bright or dramatic lipstick.

I like doing both. I like figuring out how to make neutrals more dimensional by playing with textures, tones, and shape. But sometimes I like to play with colors and trying to make them more suitable for everyday. Sometimes, I mix both (neutrals with a pop of color)!

Colorful makeup, definitely! Although I don’t mind doing neutral looks with gorgeous coppery-browns. I actually wrote a blog post just recently, wondering if there’s such a thing as too old for colorful makeup

I definitely have more fun with coloured looks – especially Sunset and Blue/Green (Tropics..) looks! I love bold lips too!

I do wear them to work (because it’s my mom’s nail salon with no strict dress code). I am, however, a little more wary when I wear colourful makeup in public but I always tell myself “this is a form of self-expression. I won’t tell you (the public how to dress or judge you for it.”

Trying to make Neutral looks dramatic is a fun challenge too.

I have more fun doing neutral looks on myself and colorful looks on others. I just don’t have the pretty enough eye-shape to rock colorful looks 🙁 boo…

I find neutral looks too boring. I mean OK they are ‘safe’ but how many ‘brown’ looks can you do? They all look the same to me! I don’t even get all the fuss with neutral palettes either. Colour always makes the look much more interesting. 🙂

I have more fun doing things with bright colors but I rarely do them because I feel wierd just going to the grocery store or doing errands with bright blue eyeshadow. haha I feel like its more for the beach or a concert.

i love neutral looks, that are very dramatic. like alot of bronzer/contour and dramatic lashes. i feel like myself but a better version. when i use color, i feel a little silly 🙁

I find it to be based on the mood I am in…. recently I have loved doing very neutral on the eyes and bold, bright lips.. and that makes me happy.

But eventually I’ll creep back into wanting bold on the eyes and neutral lips..

It flip flops a lot.

i’m the same way. i flip-flop between neutrals and bright bold colors. if i have more time to get ready, i will be using at the most 6 shadows on one colorful, bold look. if i was in a rush (like today), it will most likely be a soba-bronze-blanc type, black eyeliner and mascara look.

Color. My eyes pop with brighter colors, not neutrals. For every day, I’ll apply colors with a lighter hand. I’ll also mix brights with neutrals. I like seeing colorful eye looks for inspiration.

I’m a neutral gal. I feel like colors don’t really compliment me too well or maybe neutrals are my safety blanket. As far as lips go, I’ve been experimental with reds and pink and so far, so good! Baby steps, right? For blush, I’ve always loved blush the most and I’ve always been open to new colors. It’s the eyes I focus on the least.

I like color. I’m pretty new to neutrals and haven’t yet found looks that compliment. For work I try to use sheer colors for some fun without boredom.

I consider neutrals to be colors too. For me, nothing is more beautiful than sparkling champagnes, glistening golds, shimmering taupes, mysterious greys and rich browns. I think they invite people to look at your beautiful eyes instead of at the color on your lid. LOVE the neutrals.

Plus, they allow the flexibility to pair with them pops of bright color on the lid, cheek or lip.

Pamela Avatar

Because neutrals don’t make such an impact, I find it more interesting to do colorful looks that speak volumes from across a room.

Jane Avatar

I usually do a neutral eye. But I love doing a purple smokey or teal smokey if I want to be creative. Teal especially. It’s more unique and you don’t see many people do that. Besides, teal is the perfect colour for sultry summer nights.

Neutrals. I try so hard to pull of the colorful looks some ladies seem to master and look just amazing in, but alas, I cannot. I’ve resigned to the idea that it just doesn’t suit me, or at least, I don’t have the precision to pull it off without looking like a total mess or a pretty clown, ha! Plus, I love smokey eyes so I’m fine with wearing brown/black smokies with a nude lip.

I LOVE COLOR!! And thats what drew me to your page that you arent afraid of color and more so using lots of different colors !! thats the kind of makeup i like thats what excites me !!! so keep it up love trying to re-do your looks!!

Vivian Avatar

i love colorful looks, but i don’t wear colorful looks in most of time, okay,in my life(:so that means i love neutral looks more!
but btw:sometimes,i wear purple and dark blue!

Mia Avatar

Definitely more colorful looks! Im really artsy so I love doing different color combinations and experimenting so I get really into it and go all out!

Mia Avatar

Generally I’m all about Neutrals – endless combinations & so much more wearable for me, though I do like an occasional pop of color for special occasions.

I prefer neutrals!! I can pull them off a lot better! But I like to mix it up with lots of shimmers and metallics, not just matte beiges and browns! If I do colour I like it not super bright, just nice purples and the occasional blues and greens.

Lynniekae Avatar

I love colorful looks, but for my daily life, it’s not practical. It’s more something I would do on the weekends or at night or on vacations. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do use color (purples, greens, teals), but I usually wear them mute during the day.

monika-luiza Avatar

neutrals all the way! I love to play with light and shadow and think that you can acheive greater contrasts in depth with neutrals than with colors. plus most really colorful eyemakeups are pretty itself but in most cases don’t underline the features/beauty of the ladies who wear them, so it contradicts my understanding of a good make-up.
but I count purples, dark greens and blacks/greys as neutrals.
