Do you have a special occasion lip?

Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque is my “power red,” so I often wear it for important events (assuming that a red lip would work) as well as for special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

Mac – Gimme That! or the closest dupe Estee Lauder sequin lip gloss in Violet Rain. They’re just so sparkly and bright. so lovely. I adore them so much I limit my wear to only the most special times.

I really only wear lip balm on a daily basis, so any lipstick is a special occasion lip; what I wear really depends on my mood, as well as the rest of my makeup.

Mine is Tom Ford Cherry Lush and Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque which I wore to my wedding. Christine i heard that Chanel has recently discontinued the rouge allure laque 🙁 do you have a dupe recommendation?

I wish I did. I loooove Chanel Dragon, but whenever I put it on I get so self concious and end up taking it off. I really want a statement lip, but I feel more comfortable with statement eyes

Hi Christine,

I have a question for you. I got the Chanel Rouge Allure Laque after reading so much about it on your blog, and it is beautiful, but it feathers around my lips. I tried wearing Too Faced Lip insurance primer under it and it still feathers after a few hours.
Do you have any tips? I don’t want to give up on it, please help!

By the way, my boyfriend hates this lipstick! I won’t let him near my lips while I’m wearing it!

I’m not Christine but I started getting a problem with feathering with deeply colored lipsticks once I hit 35 or so. My secret (which I read about on the wed somewhere) is to line the outside of the lip line with a clear lipliner; this keeps the lipstick color from migrating out via the fine lines. Works great for me, I can wear any lipstick now.

Thanks, Lee! That’s a great tip, it’s just a shame that I’ll have to go and spend even more money on yet another product so I can weat this lipstick. Thanks again!

Not really. I tend to pick my makeup colors to coordinate with my attire. Also I own so many lip products, specifically glosses which are my weakness, that I try to rotate my shades so that all my babies get some attention. 🙂
