Do you have a signature lip color?

Some might say Chanel Dragon, since it was a long-time favorite/special occasion shade, but all of mine are so old now that I don’t wear ’em (but I keep one for posterity). I’ll wear just about any lip color, depending on what eyeshadow I’m wearing that day. I really love Urban Decay Rebel (which was limited), so if I had a go-to shade… it would be that.

Not anymore. I have so many lipsticks, I can probably go three months without wearing the same one twice. But when it comes to red lipstick, even though I have quite a few of them, my signature red is Chanel Pirate. It’s the one I reach for almost every time I’m in the mood to wear a basic red.

My everyday signature lip color used to be Laura Mercier Discretion, until they discontinued it. In the early 2000s (maybe even 1990s?), it was MAC Taupe. Before that, I remember loving two Revlon shades: Fleshtone and Blackberry.

Nowaday, anything goes!

Tonymoly Delight Magic Lip Tint in Strawberry. It can pull bright pink on some folks but on me it just deepens my natural lip colour, makes them look alive and gives them a juicy look without being glossy.

So I guess any sheer berry colour would be my signature as I never try corals.

For a long time I would have said Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red but if I am honest, it isn’t a particular shade but rather a depth of shade. You will never see me sporting a nude lip. They just do not work for me or maybe it is that I don’t like how they look on me. I love them on other people but just not me. Also, I don’t see the point, for me personally, to wear a lipstick that is basically my lip colour. If I am going to wear lipstick I want it to actually show up, otherwise I will just throw on a lip balm and call it a day.

I used to have signature colors that would come and go, or be discontinued, but now I’m overwhelmed by so much makeup. Back then it was Wet n Wild Toasted Coconut. I’d say I use NARS Barbara quite often, and Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Brown Berry or Rich Nude.

Fenty Ya Dig has become a staple , along with a Jeffree Star Blow pony . Urban Decay Aphyxia was my signature color last year , but I have yet to repurchase it . I have a huge love of lilac and lavender shades .

I’m known at work for wearing bold lipstick, especially bright red. Clinique Red-y To Wear was my signature for years, but I’ve been playing around with other brands lately.

My signature color is MAC Ruby Woo. Perfect red with blue undertones. Lasts for hours. I buy tons of lipsticks but always come back to Ruby Woo!

No, but if I were forced to choose only one color for the rest of my life, for the sake of functionality, I’d likely choose a red. If I didn’t have to occasionally intermingle professionally (and socially with people who are important to my success but judge-y), I’d pick something offbeat, like dark blue or black, but common sense must prevail.

I don’t think I do, but the closest I come to having a signature lip color (or, more accurately, one of the easier shades in my collection) is L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Eva’s Red.

My all time favorite is MAC Ruby Woo . This classic red lipstick stays for long and has always been my go to lipstick. Have been using it for years now and it has never disappointed me.

Hmmm today I’d say no. I own way too many colors to pick out a favorite. Besides that changes with my moods. Back in my junior/senior high school days it was a lot of Clinique’s Tenderheart and Black Lily lipsticks in the old silver tubes. I can’t recall the lipstick formula but, believe they discontinued it anyway, although I do believe they still have the colors just in another formula. Also my go to lip liner was Clinique’s Tender Taupe…It was a MLBB shade on me. Then I discovered Sephora, later ULTA and finally the internet and sites like this one and my lippie addiction took off!!!
