Do you have a look planned for New Year's Eve?

I don’t! I get up SO early these days (like 4AM or earlier), and for days like NYE, our families will be coming over so it’ll be a long day for me. By the time they show up, I’ll probably have finished testing any makeup for the day and have removed it all!

Nope. Probably just a variation on my regular, every day look. With nowhere to go (numbers here continue to skyrocket and everyone is pulling out of even small family gatherings…we’ve just had 3 family members opt out of our Xmas dinner today so we’re down to 6 people….), we’ll be home and I might “augment” my regular, every day look with some Becca highlighter….just to go a bit crazy.

Nope! I don’t celebrate the holiday, so I will probably just have whatever I wore that day, if anything. Man, this pandemic has put a gigantic crimp in my usual amount of makeup wearing days, because most days I’m just sitting at home seeing no one. Not that this scenario (just staying in) stopped me before, but this new reality has had a deleterious effect on my creative process.

We are not going out and doing our usual tradition of making black eyed peas, cabbage, and corned beef. I’ll be wearing no makeup and trying not to fall asleep before the ball drops! I’m wondering if we are going to be working from home again in the new year, which will mean a return to sweats and probably few to no daily makeup looks for me!

I probably will, seeing as we always go out for dinner on NYE. I think it’s going to be rip roaring hot here, so a fairly simple eye look will be in order.
And with the covid numbers rising, there may well end up being a cap on those who can go to restaurants or hotels, so we may end up celebrating the New Year at home.

Yes! I took Allie Glines’ “Wearable New Year’s Eve Makeup” YouTube tutorial and adapted it to the Rare Beauty Confident Energy palette, and I’ll be pairing the resulting blue and green eye with red lipstick.

Mielke Way, Aurora, and Terra Moons The Cosmos on the lid. I have to work, so I need something that will be sparkly, but last for hours. Natasha Denona Glam palette, the pink and white gold center eye lid shades mixed for inner corner. Sephora shimmer bronze and my boyfriend’s jeans eye pencils smoked out as liners. They look beautiful swatched, and even with primer, I don’t care is there is fallout, it’s New Years! 🙂

Planned, no. I’m not even sure I’ll wear any makeup, it depends on my inspiration, or lack thereof.
I will probably just do red lips and something very simple for the rest of the face. But, I might get inspired and do something funnier.
I’m just going to be home. eating something a little tasty and have a solitary glass of champagne, or cider, just as long as it’s bubbly.
My dog is terrified by fireworks. so we hardly notice the time, we sit in a brightly lit room with music or something on TV, volume up to quite loud and then we throw blankest over the curtains to soundproof as much as we can. A good thing about living in the countryside, they don’t really do a lot of fireworks before New Years Eve, and generally it only lasts for some one to two hours. Where we used to live it was two weeks of hell for the dog, they started before Christmas and kept going until well after New Years.
Sorry for the rant!
Now I think maybe I should do a fireworks inspired look. 🙂

Christine, WHY. Why do you hurt yourself like this lol

As for the actual question: nah. I doubt we’ll do much, probably just a rehash of Christmas in that it’ll be my family eating a lot of food. Not likely to stay up late, though.

Honestly, I enjoy being an early riser overall, but 3AM is more like the middle of the night, LOL. My body gets really set into a routine, and it was originally from Mellan’s schedule. Then it was because of Winston, and now Winston doesn’t believe in sleeping past 4AM either, LOL.
