Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

No not usually. The thought of it just makes me cringe. I feel for the women who have to bc they have a difficult undertone but I’d give up wearing foundation if I had to mix foundations lol. It’s just so time consuming, finicky and tedious in my mind!

Nope. I’ve neither the time nor the inclination. When I find a product that works for me, that’s challenge enough – I don’t want to “fix what ain’t broken”. I do sometimes (if I’ve got the time and I think of it) mix foundation with a liquid highlighter, luminizer type product (like the Algenist drops) or a facial oil to lighten the texture but that’s about all the mixing I’ll do.

I haven’t but I’ve thought about finding some of those add in drops to lighten mine a smidge to achieve a closer match. I’m fair enough that I top out at the end of many brands’ ranges so it’s tempting to try, especially for things like bb creams or tinted moisturizers that have ranges instead of being shade specific.

I will add a few drops of an oil (currently using Tarte’s maracuja oil) to my foundation to sheer it out a bit if I don’t want full coverage that day.

I’m a big foundation mixer. My current favorite combo is Soap & Glory Kickass and Pat McGrath Skin Fetish. The price points of the two are very different, but together they give a lovely luminous look with medium coverage that lasts all day.

I don’t like heavy foundation at all, so I’m always looking for ways to keep my foundation as light/sheer as possible. I usually mix it with my primer, or with Burberry’s Beauty Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base if I want a touch of shimmer. If I need to even out the darker spots I rely on spot touching those areas with concealer and blending well.
