Dior Sundeck (564) 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Dior Sundeck (564) 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
Dior Sundeck (564) 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette ($61.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new and limited edition, warm-toned set of five eyeshadows. Overall, the palette was nicely pigmented, wore well (about eight hours across the board), and blended easily. The darkest brown was the only troublesome shade, and it was on the drier side, but if you use a soft, fluffy brush, you won’t notice the deficiencies much.
Sundeck #1 is a light, yellow-toned beige with a matte finish. It had fairly good color payoff, while the texture was soft, velvety, and not powdery. It wore well for seven and a half hours. Kat Von D Entomology (P) and Divergent Altruistic Almond (LE) are yellower. theBalm #24 (P, $6.50) is lighter. Laura Mercier Buttercream (P, $23.00) is lighter. Wet ‘n’ Wild Naked Truth #2 (P, $2.29) is more shimmery. Kat Von D Countess (LE) is similar. Urban Decay Bleach (LE, $18.00) is similar. Urban Decay Broken (LE, $18.00) is more shimmery. Urban Decay Foxy (P, $18.00) is similar. Inglot #353 (P, $6.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sundeck #2 is a light-medium, orange-gold with a frosted finish. It had good pigmentation, while the texture was soft and blendable. This shade wore well for eight hours before starting to fade. Maybelline Beige-ing Beauty (85) (LE, $6.99) is a cream product. MAC Vanilla Extract (P, $15.00) is lighter. MAC Until Dawn #2 (LE, $21.00) is lighter. Giorgio Armani #10 #2 (P) is similar. Urban Decay Blunt (P, $18.00) is similar. Dior Night Golds #4 (LE) is slightly lighter but very similar. bareMinerals Surreal (P) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sundeck #3 is a brightened, medium orange with fine gold shimmer and a soft, pearly sheen. It had good color payoff, and the texture was blendable, soft, and velvety without being powdery. This color lasted for eight hours without fading on me. Tarina Tarantino Trumpette (LE) is lighter. Fyrinnae Pyromantic Erotica (P, $6.80) is similar. Disney by Sephora Rajah (LE) Maybelline Fierce & Tangy (P, $6.99) is a cream product. Dior Aurora #5 (LE) is darker. Chanel Tigerlily (P, $28.50) is lighter. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Mimosa (P, $14.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sundeck #4 is a golden, medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was rich, while the texture was soft and buttery. This shade wore for just over eight hours before I saw signs of fading. Chanel Mirage (95) (P, $36.00) is a cream product. bareMinerals Hot Commodity (LE) is darker. Dior Golden Flower #4 (LE) is very similar. Too Faced Buttered Rum (LE, $16.00) is also similar. Maybelline Downtown Brown (P, $6.99) is a touch less golden. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Sundeck #5 is a medium-dark, red-toned brown with a satin finish. It had decent color payoff, but the texture was drier and somewhat stiff to work with, so it was more difficult to blend and apply on the eye. MAC Espresso Blend #3 (LE) is warmer. Divergent Burnt Mahogany (LE) is lighter. Chanel Quadrille #4 (LE) is darker. LORAC Sable (P) is similar. NARS Flowers 3 #4 (LE, $24.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I like the Sundeck 4 color in the palette… the others seem very easily dupable! Not too much though gone into making this one isn’t it?
Yeah, it is a very dupable palette!
So pretty!
It is!
Wow, that rating is quite unusual for a Dior quad! I think Dior mostly disappoints in these quads but both the colors look really versatile and the pigmentation looks nice in this one! The look you created is a really wearable and nice one!
LOL! They seem to do better with the more neutral palettes!
This palette looks gorgeous on you Christine!
Thank you!
It’s pretty! Also pretty dupeable.
Agreed on both points!
Since that centre colour is one that I have several of and don’t wear much and the whole look of this isn’t dissimilar to the Tarina Tarantino Dreamy Palette, I will pass on this.
It feels like your standard, warm eye palette – coppers, browns, etc.
That’s a great quad! Just enough of a punch while still being neutral, love it.
Glad ya liked it, Erin!
This is a nice palette, but I now find myself rarely purchasing higher end eyeshadow palettes unless they are extraordinary in quality or unique in tone.
This feels more typical… done? I guess. Nice but easily something you may have already.
WANT.
Yay!
I have green eyes and am N20 slightly warm. Is it safe to assume this would work for me, Christine? I’ve never been able to pull the trigger before because the quality always seems like it’s off or there are two pale frosty white shades that I wouldn’t use. Fingers crossed that this might be “the one”!
Yes, I think it would work for you!
I agree with some of the comments – very nice but dupable . I have far too many browns and neutrals and the fact that I’ve just shelled out (too much)money for Guerlains eyeshadow quad in Turandot (after seeing an old blog of yours Christine,(such a bad influence, you are)) means that I’ll give this a miss.
Do you mind me asking what eyebrow pencil you use in your photos? They look so good….
Hey Denise!
I use MAC’s Espresso, sometimes mixed with Brun, and then an angled brush!
It looks a lovely palette, but I think all the shades are dupable, with most beauty people having those colours already in their collection. It would have been better to include a forest green shade in there instead of the brown – something to give it more use and difference.
That’s a great idea!
So pretty! I love the middle shade!
Yay!
This is a really nice set of colours, especially the orange and the plum! I’m glad this one turned out better than Dior’s recent offerings in the eyeshadow department 😉
The look you did with it is beautiful! The palette is overall a little too warm for me, but it’s perfection on you! 🙂
Aww, thank you Sylirael!
Beautiful palette! I have pale skin, with blue eyes….this would great on me. Is there a company that does an affordable dupe “as is”, and not mix and match from different companies?
There aren’t any palettes that really come to mind that have similar textures as this one. Sleek’s Sunset palette is very warm-toned, but they’re also quite frosted so the effect is different.
Ah, okay…. thanks!
This is nice but not very… eventful? I could have considered it if I was new to makeup but I think I have dupes for each shade in my stash.
Yeah, this is one of those palettes that can work really well for certain skin tones, but it is more dupable so you may easily have similar shades to it already!
Finally a palette with a lot of pale wearable shades, but some variety between each other. With no uber shimmery white shade in the mix! I love it!
Yay!!
OMG, your eye!!! Now, that’s a Monarch butterfly representation! <3 it, Christine! 😛
Aww, thank you! 🙂
The shades are prettyy.. especially the golden one in center..
It is very pretty!
The orange shade is very pretty! The palette is definitely dupable, though, and waaayy to warm for me.
I love oranges like that – not too red!
This palette is pretty dupeable, but I still bought it because I though the quality and colur combinations were excellent. Plus the orange is really fun!
If it’s nothing like you already have or you need them in a palette or if you just LOVE these type of colors, why not? 😉
There’s something very peaceful about looking at this color combo. I have dupes for all of these colors, but these quads remind me of combinations I haven’t thought of!
Yay for inspiration 🙂
Gorgeous! I have never really found a Dior palette that I had to have, but this one is definitely my style!
Think you’ll cave on this one, Danielle?
I swatched this in Sephora and it is very pretty in person. Very tempted..but resisted! Whew!
Nice job resisting temptation, Erica!
I was in Vegas this weekend and visited the DIOR makeup boutique and swatched this, I instantly had to have it!! I have used it multiple times now, the colors blend so effortlessly, it is stunningly beautiful!!! I have shades similar to those in this palette, but the texture and blendablity in this are far better, LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
So glad you’re loving the palette, Linda!
