Dior Saint-Tropez Vernis / Nail Lacquer ($23.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) launched quite awhile ago, but it was extremely limited and sold out faster than I could review it! Now, you may be wondering, “What changed?” While browsing Nordstrom’s last night, I saw a very pretty teal-like Dior polish, and lo and behold, St. Tropez is being repromoted in Dior’s upcoming summer collection (which I’m still awaiting permission to post–this is the only item Nordstrom had up).  You may also see it called Saint-Tropez (which is actually how the bottom of the bottle is labeled, but online it is abbreviated).

Saint-Tropez is an aqua-blue–it’s almost a teal, but it’s probably a bit too blue to be a true teal. Depending on the light and your skin tone, you may find it looks closer to teal than aqua. It’s very reminiscent of vacations spent on the beach, though. MAC Salad Dressed is a bit darker and greener. Zoya Wednesday is much lighter, a touch greener. Zoya Zuza is greener, darker, and has shimmer. Chanel Nouvelle Vague is greener and has shimmer. On the same note, China Glaze For Audrey is the closest but a little greener (which results it in looking more like a teal).

This shade was opaque in two coats (but one coat is surprisingly opaque–the index finger I left with just one coat to show you) and I didn’t have any issues during application–no streaking, pooling, or bubbling here.  It applied fluidly and evenly, and the drying time was average.  The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin.  Dior’s lacquers have a wider, more tapered brush, which I actually like, as it makes it easier to apply the color in one or two strokes (depending on the size of the nail).  When I tested the wear of Saint-Tropez, it wore for a full week with very minor tip wear and no chipping.

I’m so mad they brought it back too soon. It was a collectible item. What about people that paid $100-$200 on ebay? It completely destroys the meaning of limited editions and collections, pure commerce

Omg this is gorgeous! Looks like I’ll be hauling even more polishes this summer than I anticipated! Unrelated shade but I just picked up Chanel “Distraction”…they had a LE collection they didn’t even email me about!!! Lol. But perfect coral for summer. <3 it!

Hey Christine, I love this polish it is so pretty. I loved the red dior from the Christmas collection so I might pick this up also!

BTW, I think it might be a good idea so do a far away nail shot to show what polish looks likes at more of a distance. some polishes look cool on the nail but in perspective look gaudy. what do you think? Just a suggestion?! 🙂
