Dare to Wear Look: Yellow, Coral, Red

Dare to Wear Look: Yellow, Coral, Red

If there is one beauty lesson I cannot seem to learn is to remove mascara before doing a look!  Argh!  I always do this — have mascara on for some other purpose, decide to do a look, but don’t want to waste time (aka being lazy) removing mascara and then waiting for the area to dry (don’t want to apply eyeshadow base on top of remover… counterproductive!)… and then the mascara looks all clumpy and yuck at the end.  No more being lazy!

I did upper lash liner because I know some will be disappointed otherwise if they saw this look sans the liner.  I was just playing around with the combo last night anyway, so removing it after ten minutes wasn’t going to break my heart so it worked out 🙂  Well, except for the minor swelling this AM, lol!

You can easily pair this look with a toned down coral, pink, or even nude lip.  I went for the gusto and used Gimme That! but it’s not necessary.

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Going Bananas eyeshadow on the lower half of the lid. Lightly blend Free to Be eyeshadow on the middle of the lid, horizontally, with the 239. Apply Louder, Please eyeshadow on the outer half of the crease with the 239 and lightly blend upwards.  Blend Trench eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Zero liner on the lower lash line and Blacktrack fluidline on the upper lash line with the 208. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara. Add false lashes if desired.

For cheeks, apply #15 Natural blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116, then lightly pat Mary Lou-manizer on the cheekbones.

For lips, apply Gimme That! lipglass for a complementing lip.

I never thought I would like hot pink/red on the eyes but you definitely pulled out off in this look. This is really pretty!Im going on a caribbean cruise and I think this look would look great for the formal dinner night!

Love this! (Sooo much more than the fake eyelashes look!) Also that lip gloss is amazing, are there flecks of blue glitter in it? If so I might have to go get it, I’m a sucker for pink glosses with blue glitter!

Ohhhh. Daaang. Okay, I guess that cements it, I am going to pick up Louder, Please with one of my two sets of empties tonight 😀 (I already purchased Going Bananas, but think I’ll get Sassy Grass with the other set.) That is just WAY TOO COOL. Of course, it layers especially well with Free to Be, which I don’t plan to get, but perhaps I can use Peaches blush to try a look like this. It would also make a great crease color with (I know this sounds crazy but) a sky blue lid!

Thanks, Mary!

I definitely do if I put them on before I’m going somewhere, lol! I end up putting off doing a look until the end of the day (just because I get wrapped up in other things), so then I’m not going anywhere… but I totally would 🙂 I’m not scared!

So interesting! I like this look, but maybe i will try it in a softer way, i don’t know hahaha… is TOO MUCH pink.
But I’m sure of one thing… this kind of looks inspire me to dare and change my normal eyeshadows

Thankyou Christine!

Woah i definitely wouldn’t dare to wear such a bold look! But you! you do pull off any colour or colour combination! Looks hot and fun!

That looks awesome, especially with the bright lip gloss. I’ve been unsure about Louder, Please, in and out of the shopping cart all week because I’m not sure how I would wear it. Now I see it looks nice with coral and yellow. Guess that one will go back in the cart and stay there!

Christine, you get the “Cajones” award for pulling off this look! It looks fantastic and makes me want to buy Louder Please.

But, I just don’t think it’s doable for a workday look.
I did get Shockaholic, though, and I LOVE it! It is the perfect bright, warm purple.

this looks good, i think eyeliner just brings everything together nicely, i will have to revisit your past makeup looks because i think for my personal preference i would like them better with eyeliner

Diana Avatar

Wow this looks so good on you and haha that’s exactly the look I wanted to do with going bananas, free to be and louder, please <3

This is a gorgeous look! Your eyes look beautiful! I really want to try it myself, though it’s probably a little too warm for my skin tone.

I did get Gimme That! though, and it’s amazing.

Jasmine Avatar

Gorgeous! And makes me feel like it’s still summer. I really want to get that Going Bananas one.

So, is it all eyeliner that bothers you or just some? And it doesn’t bother you on the lower lash line? That’s so odd! Have you heard of this happening to others?

Christine Avatar

Just the upper lash line, and it’s anything – false lashes, liner (gel, cream, liquid), eyeshadow (applied on the lash line – not the same as the lid).

We have a whole club here – there are several other readers who share my frustration 🙂

Oh you better go! Work it.
I think I’d look awful in these colors, but you look great.

I did order me two of the “Gimmie that!” L/g’s that color I can wear 🙂

BTW I loved those Urban Decay lashes you had on the other bright look. I’m gonna have to get me some of those sometime.

Mariah Avatar

I LOVE this look! I wish I had money to get everything in it!! I love the combo! I know it’s not “conventional” colors, but it’s happy and fun and gorgeous!!

inaya Avatar

oh wow! thats intense! the lou-manizer does wonders for you christine! looking forward to a review and how it compares to by candlelight

I just love the lips and this is really a very nice and fun look, but I have to agree with Jazz. I am simply not a fan of matt shades. They just tend to look so dead and flat easily.

Very nice Christine, and perfect with the black top you’re wearing and those gorgeous tresses of yours. 🙂

Christine, I find this is one of the most pretty looks you made so far. It really looks great on you. It gives you a even fresher face. Very, very pretty! Can’t wait for the Dare to Wear collection to come out in Belgium next week on august 8!

I never thought I would like hot pink/red on the eyes but you definitely pulled out off in this look. but i personally i don’t like lip color

Hannah Avatar

gorgeous look 🙂 never would have thought those two would go together so well…still waiting for it to come out in England :/
is louder please similar to love+ from sugarpill?

Elle Avatar

OMG, you’re making me want to go out and buy those other eyeshadows. I thought I was set with just Going Bananas, but now…hahah 🙂 Thanks for the ideas Christine!

Bettina Avatar

a bold look indeed..though still amazing. 🙂 I can’t quite decide what to make of that lip color though, I like brights and all but that one seems like it’d be a wee bit intense for me.

kfm Avatar

Oooh… I like this one! So bold and perfect for summer. I love the fact that the bright pink/ red on the eyes is hidden when your eyes are open/ looking ahead, but you get the full effect when you glance down.

I had a Christmas party to go to last night and I needed to figure out how I should do my makeup since I was wearing a black dress. I saw this and I fell in love 🙂 Luckily I had a lot of the same products and the things that werent the same, I had things similar so it worked out great 🙂 really made my eyes pop out. Got lots of compliments during the course of the party 🙂 Thanks!
