Dandy Lions Eyeshadow ($4.50 to $5.50) is an indie brand that has been around for five years. They’ve been on my radar for a couple of years, and I have seen Temptalia readers rave about them, so as mainstream brands have slowed down on the bajillion palette releases and have really slashed their own single ranges – it seemed like a good time to try Dandy Lions.

Their matte formula is specifically noted to be on the more powdery side for better blendability. Thus far, they remind me of Viseart eyeshadows – the matte shades do not always swatch the best, but they are very blendable, buildable, and seem to apply with more pigmentation in practice (on the eye). It’s very early on in the testing process, so I’ll have more thoughts to share as I work through the shades and different finishes/colors. It may take me sometime just to photograph/swatch everything (I’ve only done two color groups so far!), as a FYI!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

A new brand (to me) – how exciting. This reminds me of when you introduced SG to us – those beautiful green hues and shimmer shades that are so beloved by us.
I hope this brand turns out to be as good and reliable as SG too.
These green hues look really good from the swatches, especially those shimmer shades – I love them all.

I’m essentially overstocked on cool toned mattes but I’ll check out the site as I’m always on the lookout for pale bright cool toned metallics or satins. I need light colored shades to make the lid space on my hooded eyes appear larger but cool toned options aren’t too easy to find. Plenty of dark metallics but not enough light.

Oh, this is so cool you are including this brand on your site, and that you swatched these. I’ve seen these greens from them and have been curious about the quality.
