Dame Edna for MAC

To compose the line, Edna holed up in a conference room with James Gager, senior vice president and creative director of MAC Worldwide, and Jennifer Balbier, senior vice president of product development worldwide for MAC, to brainstorm. “I sat with very keen people wearing black and came up with a range of colors, which flatter me — and I’m approaching 60 from the wrong way — as well as women of all ages,” said Edna.
The offbeat pairing is the wacky type of deal that MAC seems to delight in. “For us, Edna represents the counterculture that MAC is steeped in,” said Gager. “This is a partnership that will make people stop and take notice.”
The line’s outer packaging is lavender — to match Dame Edna’s hair — and adorned with glittery red glasses, another Dame Edna trademark. Shade names — such as Coral Polyp and Varicose Violet (“my mother has varicosity, and thus inspired the color,” cracked the comedian) — follow Dame Edna’s outrageousness. And don’t be looking for a matchy-matchy mix. “We’re not afraid to clash with colors — we have nail polishes that have nothing to do with the lip colors we’re doing,” said Balbier. “It’s a wacky, fun mix.” Dame Edna’s loopy signature is embossed on the powders.
I absolutley cannot WAIT for this collection to come out!!!!

I think I’ll pass on this one. I think MAC and Hello Kitty will be better than this one.
I’m not too excited for this one either.
*shutters* The concept is fun, but when I look at the packaging and some of the names I feel mild nausia. Unintentially, MAC has tapped my phobia of poorly executed makeup.

I think it’s an all over face highlighter or beauty powder.
im not too thrilled on this one.. it all looks usual and “has been done”.. im not sure why MAC chose Dame Edna for a collection.. its a little weird i think lol

no nooooooo.. I tried the powder in the pic.. it is like silky chiffon and looks like a baby’s blush. Really natural. This is my new must.

I do like the purple theme! Though the glasses aren’t really me, but the color is nice.
I hope I can resist this!! This collection is not something I want laying around, it just doesn’t inspire me. I want to get much of Chill and maybe Hello Kitty.

Ok so I guess I live under a rock, but I had no idea who Dame Edna was so I googled her or him? OMG ok WHY? seriously why? I dont know I havent seen any product swatches or anything but I dont know.. I’m on the fence about this collection.
LOL, aww. Some people are confused… for me, I don’t really care about the motivation of the collection – it’s about the actual products.

Of all the Australians/Melbournians to pick as an icon it’s DAME EDNA?! Makes us looks like a pack of idiots! I’ll be passing in support of my country and hometown – and that fact that he’s a jerk in real life and don’t want to support his collection. Oh, and the packaging is hideous… and the colours are blah. And I’m more into Nars right now. And I’m broke. And waiting for Hello Kitty… Yep, definitely passing.
