Cosmoprof 2011 Day 1

Cosmoprof Day 1

Whew!  Cosmoprof is a huge show – I haven’t even walked the floor yet (hopefully tomorrow!) – but I did see a really cool product:  Layla Nail Polish’s Magneffect, which is a magnetic nail polish that will launch later this year in the states (expected retail price is around $15.50).  The magnetic part is cool, but the coolest part is that you don’t need a base coat or a top coat–it’s SUPER shiny without a top coat–and you really only need one thick coat.  Will post more details later when I’ve been able to test it out!  I spoke on a panel with BellaSugar, DailyMakeover, and Clio Makeup in the morning, and then spent the afternoon in the Beauty Blogger lounge area.

See a couple of more photos!

are they actually magnetic? or is that just a gimmicky name? If they’re actually magnetic I’m not sure I want them close to my computer or smartphone!

Magnetic polish has been around for a while, but is not relatively easy to find so i’m excited for the launch for this brand later in the year.

Have fun, Christine! Love to hear about new products!

Magnetic nails? That scares me a little. My boyfriend does MRI research and I don’t think this would be a good product for his subjects to wear :P.

I also worry about wiping my credit and debit cards clean, disrupting my computer monitor, etc. I’m sure the quantity of ferromagnetic minerals is small, I’m just paranoid!

Layla nail-polishes are the best, I’m proud it’s an Italian brand 🙂
I saw a photo of you, Clio, Bellasugar and dailymakeover on Clio’s facebook fan page, she’s quite a star here in Italy, but she’s always so down-earthed. I love her 🙂

Clio in America? it is a Korean cosmetic brand. Honestly I am not impressed with that brand. Hope they will have some other lines special for USA market

The Clio make-up Christine refers to in this post is an Italian mua and YT beauty guru (actually, she’s the most popular Italian yt beauty guru!) who lives in NY. not the Korean brand 😉

I’ve heard about the magnetic nail polish but never seen it for sale. They featured it in a magazine recently, I think it was this month’s Allure. Definitely an interesting sounding product and I’d love to try it!!

How much (if you know) will the magnetic device be from Lalya? I think with this name brand it will be far easier to find magnetic polish in the states once they launch as they should have a huge launch with a lot of press and folks clamoring to sell the brand. Are they going to sell several magnetic designs??? Hope they do a kit of designs as a discount for buying the kit vs. one by one design.
