I love that they included purples. The shade Love Note reminds me of the CP single Howlin’ which is my only pastel purple I own and I absolutely love it. I think the bottom right six (the purples/pinks) are very pretty… don’t have a need for three warm toned browns and the crease shade that looks like every other one I have pretty much all of their palettes that aren’t the 9 pans.

On a side note, I was just running through their singles to see what they cost these days and they have a single already named Love Note that is a “metallic vibrant yellow”.

Both this palette and the new viseart One remind me Huda beauty Mercury retrograde. As usual, (do you remember the sunset Eye trend started After the release of the desert dusk ?) Huda starts trends which at the launch moment raise a lot of perplexities (yeah, looking at the Mercury retrograde a lot of people said: “what It Is this?? pastels??? Light?? Cool?? What a Crazy choice”), and then other brands start to follow that trend… Finally, a couple of months later the First launch that trend become the seasonal obsession of the beauty community, with all brands that propose thousands of palettes based on small variazione of that theme… Yes I defenetely forecast months full of pinkish, purplish, violet pastels … Fortunately I already own the Mercury retrograde, so no Need of any of these

Even though it’s another pink themed palette from CP, I actually think this one is much better than the previous few releases. There is a wider range of shade variation in terms of depth, with the addition of darker shades. And there doesn’t seem to be any pressed glitter numbers either.

I went into the Ulta to check it out after checking the app to make sure it was in store. The manager said it went on clearance and they were sold out. I think the manager was confusing it with the last purple butterfly palette. lol They probably thought I was crazy.

I went into Ulta to get it bc the app said it was in stock. A very helpful associate checked and went in the back and got one for me, because they had just come in. It’s beautiful, not too dark, no black or pressed glitters.

This palette was a good reminder to wait for your swatches. I ordered this from Ulta Friday and they had it on my doorstep Saturday morning, inexplicably. So I wore it all day. First off, it’s not a purple palette except in packaging. There’s only one pastel purple grey. The dark plum reads pure pinky berry on the eyes, meaning there’s nothing to darken corners. The two left browns and top right brown aren’t cool but all read as the same peachy tone on me. The champagne is a messy microglitter topper, not suitable as a lid shade alone. The dark Bae-like duochrome applies poorly and doesn’t read as a duochrome. Same with Cutie Pie, you just can barely see the flip. The sequin matte pink is fine. But the overall look on the eyes is a contrastless midtone neutral pink.

I knew I’d be tossing Lover and Candy Gram because I dislike dark shimmers so I won’t count those against the palette. I’m mostly disappointed in the 8/10 shades I expected to rock and let me down. Especially after Colourpop did such a great cool tone set with the Flutter By palette. Save your coin and get that one or either of the purple monochromatic palettes.

Thanks for the review! I really appreciate you going into detail on the shades!

And damn… I had a similar experience with Blush Crush two weeks ago, where I expected one thing from the color story of the packaging and the appearance of the pans, but the actual tones of the shades were very different, way more neon pink, and much less cohesive. 🙁 It’s the kind of thing that’s very hard to tell from online swatches too. I guess you are right and especially with these ulta palettes, we really should swatch, but the appeal of fast online shipping is strong 🙂

You bet! I still love Colourpop, this one just did not do it for me. And hey someone out there right now is going “woohoo the midtone pink palette I always wanted” and more power to him/her. (Your description of Blush Crush makes me want it more now because I thought it looked too beige/peach!) I just should’ve waited for Christine’s swatches and not gone “oooh purpley gray get in my cart.” 😀
