ColourPop x The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection Swatches
ColourPop x The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection launches today–October 28th–at 10AM PT! The collection includes a 12-pan palette, cream eyeshadow trio, three lipsticks, two liquid eyeliners, and one glitter gel (I didn’t swatch the liquid eyeliners, which are white and black and glitter gel, as I don’t review those generally).
ColourPop really did a nice job on the details of the packaging – the lipsticks come in ‘ornament’ style cardboard packaging (click any shade to see more photos), while all the packaging is also black light-activated.

I wish they would have replaced one or two of the pink/red tones with a bright neon green matte and/or a sparkly teal.
That’s exactly what I was thinking! I get a lil’ pink, but it does feel pink-heavy!
Frog’s Breath is nifty and I like the Barrel liner, but I’m cutting myself off of ColourPop for the time being. Too much of it lately and while I am enjoying a lot of the products, it generally leads me down that rabbit hole to a cluttered and bloated collection.

One last thing, super bizarre that they’re launching it this late in the month. Anyone who does want to buy anything from this collection won’t even be able to use it on Halloween, which is a shame.

I would have expected more greens and less pink in the palette, and a green lipstick would have been awesome. It’s a pretty color story, but doesn’t scream TNBC to me. I’ll still be getting the palette and lipsticks, though.

I wish they would’ve had less pink in the palette. Everybody Scream would’ve suffficed. Needs more green. It’s also weird that the Ophir Boogie lip is beige. I mean I know that technically he’s a burlap sack lol but green would’ve been better for the essence of boogie. I love the packaging on the lips but I expected less conventional colors for goth kids lol.
I actually really love this color story and bought the palette and a lippie! In my mind, it’s perfect timing since NBC is a Halloween and Christmas movie! :o)

I picked up the eye palette, shock, and barrel. I wanted the full set of lock, shock, and barrel (for nostalgia), but I have so many of that pink shade and while I use them frequently I know I don’t need any more. Plus, Christmas Town is pretty similar so I definitely don’t need both. I love that there are cooler tones in the palette and am really hoping they don’t translate warm on the eye, but either way I’ll be happy. I’m excited! Already watched The Nightmare Before Christmas once this year and I’m sure I’ll be watching it more.
Finally! A Nightmare Before Christmas collection that features all the pink that was in that movie! Wait, no I’m thinking Legally Blonde…why is there all this pink in this Nightmare Before Christmas collection?? I actually like the look of the collection but Colourpop either hits the color story of their collabs out of the park or they get it so so wrong and this is definitely the latter.
ColourPop’s love affair with pink shades continues unabated….pink, pink and pink. Blah!
I wish they would’ve taken out that beige shimmer and put a shimmer neon green. Also some kind of blue for the color of Sally. I still bought the lipsticks and palette for the nostalgia of it. I used an influencer code and got 10% off. I wish the lipsticks were different. Instead of the basic beige, they could’ve done a griege. Also instead of the pink, they could’ve done a pumpkin orange or a murky green.
The shades I’m immediately drawn to in the palette are the neutral mattes in the first row…and What’s This?, so I’m not too boring yet 😅

I love pink eyeshadow, but not this bright of a pink, hard pass. I created my own The Nightmare Before Christmas inspired color story with my single eyeshadows, so I’ll be playing with that.
