ColourPop x Powerpuff Girls Collection Swatches
ColourPop x Powerpuff Girls Collection launches today, July 14th, at 10AM PT. The collection includes a palette, two blushes, three eyeshadow pencils, three glosses, lip balms, bath bar, and hair clips. The glosses are very sheer so I didn’t swatch those, but I have the other color cosmetics swatched in this post.
P.S. — You can get 10% off the collection with code TEMPTALIA.
It’s a good thing I 1) didn’t grow up with cable TV, so no Cartoon Network and no Powerpuff Girls when I was a child and 2) I dislike the incredible majority of ColourPop’s launches anymore.
Easy pass.
😬😬😬😬😬 Yikes. These do not look promising.
I love the brights, but the neutral and lighter shades look questionable. I might try to grab the blushes at some point. I’m a bit surprised how heavily coral this collection looks.
It’s cute and I think it will do well, but I think they could have made some cooler choices.
I hate that I like the palette. I think it’s just the vibrant colors. I will wait and see if it’s still calling to me in a couple of weeks and go from there!
The ONLY thing that’s tempting me is the Blush Stix. The rest of it looks too childish and light colored for me.
I ordered the palette and blush set. The Temptalia code covered the shipping, yay. I really just wanted the blushes and may give the palette to my daughter or niece. Since they grew up in the Power Puff era.
Another fairy floss palette from CP and we have seen a lot of these lately, they kind of all run together there is so many of them.
I really like how pigmented the pink blush is. All others are nice if that’s your kinda jam.
I would just like frenemy as a single shadow 😕
Packaging is cute but actual products look like they’re made by Crayola, yuck. But I for one have certainly gotten things just for the packaging and/or nostalgia before!
This surprised me. I had a doll set as a kid, but I never remember PPG having much merch. It’s a sad collab. Looks like ColourPop only knows the color scheme of the main girls. The original show had a lot of those dreamy 90s pink, blue, yellow, and teal backdrops that would have been a lot cuter than the random corals. Maybe it would make more sense if I had seen the remake, though.
I love the colors and the concept of the shadow sticks, the execution, unfortunately is an utter fail. Similar to your review, I find they tend to break during application or just feel dry and tear at the delicate eye-flesh during application. I have avoided CP liners also for the same issues–which is a shame because they have some fun, vivid colors. When will they learn and work on their formula for items which don’t perform? It seems they are relying on massive cheap palettes and hope the rest of the items will sell as ride alongs? The palette is an easy pass as the color story is cute but not terribly original and similar to the recent Barbie and Cabana ones. I would not be shocked if they just used the same shadows, renamed them, and just put them in a different order. It is not quite as bad as Morphe where you buy a 35 pan and there are maybe 20 colors with the rest being dupes or near dupes, but I think they are relying heavily here on people buying for the nostalgia factor. PPG are way after my time so I have no sentiment, now if they do a Sigmund & the Seamonsters I am in trouble but no strong pull here. That fuchsia blush is mighty cute though.
An entire PPG collection and not a single Ms. Sara Bellum reference?? Scandalous!
