ColourPop Teasecake Super Shock Cheek Review, Photos, Swatches

ColourPop Teasecake Super Shock Cheek

ColourPop Teasecake Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “pale pink with gold and pink duo chrome finish.” It’s a lightly pink-toned peach with soft beige that gives it a more toned down look paired with pearly shimmer that from gold to pink. ColourPop Highly Waisted (P, $8.00) is much yellower. ColourPop Double Dip (LE, $8.00) is lighter, more golden. MAC Coupe d’Chic (LE, $28.00) is pinker, powder. Kevyn Aucoin Starlight (P, $44.00) is darker, powder. Bobbi Brown Pink Glow (LE, $45.00) is powder, lighter. Urban Decay Aura (P, $29.00) is lighter, powder. Tom Ford Beauty Highlighter (Softcore) (LE, $55.00) is lighter, powder. Urban Decay Streak Highlighter (P) is pinker, powder. Maybelline Nude Rebellion (201) (LE, $8.99) is darker. bareMinerals The Many Splendors #2 (LE) is pinker, powder. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

The texture is very smooth and creamy with a “wet” feel, but it’s still the signature texture that’s springy and bouncy (think clay or PlayDoh) that goes onto skin like a powder and sits like a powder. It had buildable coverage from semi-sheer to semi-opaque, with fingertip application yielding semi-opaque coverage. With the more duochrome sheen, I think it is prettier and more complex in person than in photos, as you can see how it shifts as your face moves and the light hits the cheeks in different ways. On me, it doesn’t show up with much color until I tilt or move, but on fairer skin tones, I think you’ll get subtle color out of it as well. The texture has a frosted sheen that just slightly emphasized pores after about two and a half hours of wear (initially, it didn’t), though it didn’t worsen over the rest of the time I wore it. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours before fading on me.

Oh wow, this is very lovely. It’s a bit more shimmery than I like, but looks nice for summer. I’m going to pick up one of the lighter shades, not sure which one yet, but this one is candidate

Hi Erin! Maybe try not using them where your pores are most prominent, and instead as a brightened/highlighter for higher planes of the face and eyes? To cool, warm, highlight, or accentuate?? They look like so much fun!

What a lovely glow it imparts! Teasecake is now on my ColorPop wishlist. So far, I am really liking these highlighters.

Darn i knew i should of gotten this one. Guess I’ll have to make another order 😉 at least the new summer bronzers are available so i can get it all at once. since you have all of the highlighters do any of them say if they are not eye safe? A lot of them would look gorgeous on inner corner & brow bone.

This is one of the ones I want, along with Monster, Hippo, Smokin’ Whistles, Lunch Money and Stole the Show. Then there are a few I want for blushes… 😀

Oh..so pretty. I seriously want all of them! I didn’t order this one yet though. I ordered Sticky sweet, Tasty, Avalon, and Most Necessary. I wasn’t sure if this would be too light for my skin tone. But , it looks great on you. So, it is going back on my list! Man,this eye look is gorgeous…gulp. I feel a review for some super expensive Charlotte Tilbury products, lol!

I’ve watched all of these get searched and shown on YouTube and I’m afraid of an addiction! This is gorgeous! But just because they work well, are deliciously enchanting, totally inexpensive and fun, does that make it necessary to have them? If I do, it will be like MAC pigments! I can totally see being obsessed when I was trying to lessen my load.. I don’t have anything from ColourPoo, so I’m trying to justify a big fun order with that excuse! This looks wonderful on!

I’m sure your stash is quite exhaustive, so I don’t know that I could ever tell you that you NEED something, you know? That’s like me saying I NEED any makeup product ever, haha 😉 I think the brand is absolutely worth a try if you’re into trying new brands/new products and you generally like cream products. Probably better to try to figure out a way to prevent the “collect them all” mentality (I struggle with this, too!) so you can have more variety but only in the colors or finishes you’ll use 🙂

Lotus Avatar

That helped! Smh no. Haha! 😉 I have a serious addiction problem with makeup when I like something. The highlighters? Omg… The blushes seem like a shortcut but… How do you win the war with having everything? Or trying to, rather? Hmm.. What blushes could you kindly call dupes, color-wise, for MAC’s Frankly Scarlet & Dame? As well, a nice hot pink.. Crap. Fingers will stain and I fear application over base.. I totally LOVE many colors, but the people I researched who have them and reviewed them.. They weren’t wearing them. See what I mean? Do YOU actually honestly reach for them often? And not for testing or dupe reasons? The brand just seems highly trendy and promoted to a point where I’m doubtful it’s worth it. But… I mean.. I want them. And I know I can’t try just one.. I KNOW I can’t. Trend and function are really blurred lines right now. That’s why I come here. If my instinct isn’t loud enough, I know I can trust you!

Dupes that I’m aware of:

Prenup (MAC Coygirl dupe.. I used to wear that a lot!!!!)
Birthday suit (Chanel Jardin le Flowers, which I had to pass on because of price but knew I’d love it.. )
Mochi ( Actually different from Thumper! Very much like the MAC collab Sharon Osborne blush! But I could have cared less though this and thumper appeal to me! Argh)
Pegacorn ( MAC Archie’s PROM princess, I think? LOVED that!!!!)
Holiday (Chanel Angelique.. Another I passed on due to price and durability with my CT stash) Hmmm I’m forgetting some others ATM but there were around 8 I located. I just wonder if applying them would be easier than whipping out a brush and my CT, opening and trying not to drop it? Then again, I would t be able to stop if they were THAT great. And if feel bad about spending what I have on my collection now! You have amazing control! (Unless they actually suck and being kind to them is a favor to those seeking drugstore prices?) Being sent them for free is SO different. 😛

I hope that helps some who were wondering! 🙂

Hi, I’ve tried looking everywhere on the site, but I cannot find an answer as to whether or not I can buy just one item at ColourPop and what the shipping would be? Can anybody please answer this? Thank you!

Lotus Avatar

Thank you! I went and checked. I had to allow permission for cookies on all websites in order for it to show.. I’m glad I know now, though! Thanks again! I need to wait awhile for funds before making orders, these do seem to be a quick shortcut and I like that! I’m guessing after I purchase they will allow me to make an account I can log into? I don’t use Facebook so I’m hoping. You must be having so much fun with the highlighters! I’m glad. 🙂 Enjoy! I’m excited for more reviews! 🙂 They are all so GORGEOUS! <3
