ColourPop Make It Black Collection Swatches
ColourPop Make It Black Collection is a new release available at Ulta, and it is in partnership with Make It Black, which is an organization that has partnered with beauty brands to “showcase the beauty of Black” and to use 100% of net proceeds of those products to “support the economic development of Black founders to foster more Black businesses and in turn Black employment.” Make It Black was founded by Sharon Chuter, who is also the founder of UOMA Beauty.
The collection includes a palette, cream eyeshadow duo, four lipsticks, and two eyeliners (one was a repromote).

Love this entire collection! But I’d be inclined to buy Galore and Like Magic Lippie Stix, plus the Palette, as I could see myself actually using these. I do wish there had been a couple of richer blushes included, though.
I wonder how “net proceeds” will be calculated And whose “net proceeds” do they mean? ColourPop’s? Ulta’s? I doubt that there will be much money coming out of this, which is why I disagree with the whole concept of shopping for a cause. I am trying to buy more from BIPOC makers but I am not swayed by campaigns like this. Better to find groups that support entrepreneurs directly and contribute to them.
I agree. Like, is this supposed to make me feel better about some of these brands? I was already over colourpop, and this didn’t make me want to get back into them at all.
I really like the eyeshadow duos and the rose gold eyeliner – they all look to be fabulous quality, a reminder of CP of old.
I sincerely hope that the profits of this enterprise really do go to those who are starting up businesses and providing employment to others. It would be extremely tricky to start something new with this pandemic going on.
Now this is the FIRST ColourPop theme (color wise) that has interested me in a while. A shame it costs the price of the product to send them to Europe. Looks very promising!
