ColourPop Love Struck Collection Swatches

ColourPop Love Struck Collection launches on January 8th at 10AM PT and includes five new, five-pan palettes in plastic packaging. They will retail for $10 each and each shade contains 0.03 oz. (0.15 oz. total), which seemed like an unusually high price point given ColourPop’s monochromatic, 9-pan palettes (which are plastic) retail for $12 and contain 0.035 oz. each (or 0.32 oz. total), so for $2 more, you’d get four more shades and over double the product. Worth noting, some of the recently released 9-pan palettes, in cardboard packaging, are $14.

Wow, those look a lot like the Natasha Denona minis – for a moment I thought this was an overview of them or something. The packaging and the colours in each of them look so similar. Only big diff – the price tags! I’m liking the look of Ballad and Lyric

Just when I thought these were an easy pass, your swatches have me reconsidering. I hate the pressed glitter but that hasn’t stopped me from purchasing CP palettes in the past. If they were to put out a vault of all five palettes for a reduced price, I’m pretty sure I’d be hauling these.

BTW Happy New Year, Christine, to you and Mellan and your family!

Ballad is quite pretty. Amor could have been nice as well but they put a pressed glitter in it.
Very Natasha Denona-esque packaging on these.

I wonder if these are gonna be Colourpop’s version of Natasha Denona’s mini pallets? They have a very similar vibe to them, I quite like these small compacted colour stories. I also wonder if they would release future collections with the same 5 shade palletes, I would defenetely buy something similar to ND’s mini Star or Zendo palleter in this format from Colourpop during summer.

I agree that CP has taken a page from the ND playbook. Compare them to some of CP’s earlier (or earliest) small powder palettes, like Vacation Mode or Weekend Warrior. The only similarities is that they are both eyeshadow! I guess I don’t have the general appreciation for ND, because I like the old stuff better…which is better for my cards and wallet. These make me have a slightly higher opinion of CP, as they reflect some thought, planning, observation, and forecasting….whereas our usual impression is ‘churn ‘em out quickly and retread all the colors.’

Cherish, Crush, and Lyric look particularly close to Zendo, Mini Sunset/Nude, and Mini Glam. I was quite surprised when I first saw these. I prefer the formula and overall look of Natasha Denona’s minis, which I think are a reasonable price, so I can’t picture myself picking any of these up.

This is just gross to me. I don’t like knock offs. There are enough knock off brands out there.

Colourpop releases PLENTY without stealing others’ ideas so blatantly

I like the concept of these, just as I do with ND’s; more compact and cohesive colour stories.

For me Ballad and Amor are the most appealing, however…
Amor’s Affair is an absolute no go, and the whole thing reminds me a lot of one of my Huda Obsessions palette (somewhere in my drawer).
Ballad has serious MJ Steeletto vibes, which I also already own.

I will buy the 3 without glitters suspended in gel. I prefer my glitters not suspended in a gel format, which means they’ll dry out eventually. Asian brands do great glittery-like eyeshadows or I’ll use a liquid format like Stila’s Glitter & Glows.
