ColourPop Lippie Stix Swatches x39

ColourPop Lippie Stix

There are ten new shades in the ColourPop Lippie Stix ($6.00 0.035 oz.), and they re-released The Big Box of Lippie Stix, which is a set of 48 shades for $150. I know I was never able to get to a lot of the “core” shades in the Lippie Stix range, so this recent press sample seemed like the perfect opportunity to swatch through the current core shades. I have 39 swatches below; I didn’t re-swatch eight shades because I have recently swatched/reviewed them (and they did well), and I’m missing one, Kapish, as I had a Primer in the box as the 48th shade. I noticed that there were actually quite a few imperfect shades in the set – from lint to fibers (seemed synthetic to my eye) (see Westie), air pockets (bigger than air bubbles) (see Brink), cuts vertically/horizontally (see Parker), and product build up on some shades.

A lot of these look really good. I always look for pigment separating in lip lines (big pet peeve), and some lighter shades here which are nornally prone to this, look like they’ve largely avoided that problem. Hmmm….

I bought Cami and Lumiere a year or two ago and got a mini Goal Digger as a gift with purchase, and I just don’t wear them because — I know this might sound very silly — I hate the packaging so much. They look like dollar store marker pens to me. Out of those three shades, Lumiere is the only one I’ve worn a couple times. There are some very pretty shades here that I’ve thought about getting in the past, but didn’t because of the packaging. If the tube was black it might look nicer.

Are these scented? I bought a handful of them when they first launched and found the smell/taste so crayonlike and off-putting that I never wore them. Not sure if I got some duds or if they’re all like that!

Wow, those nude shades are particularly lovely! I wanted to try the Lippie Stix back in the day when people used to swatch their huge collections of them on YouTube, but never ordered any. Took me forever to try ColourPop at all, but I’ve loved their eye products.

Oh no, I’m in trouble! LOL
I’m seeing quite a few shades that if love, but I have so much lipstick that there’d bound to be overlapping dupes. Or so I fear!
However… Runaway and Cherry Bomb will be mine! Chi Chi, Ellarie, and Topanga look right up my alley. And since it is so cheap, maybe Casanova, just for fun. I actually look hideous in these types of pinks when I don’t have heavily highlighted hair, but….

I am with you, Nancy, being in trouble, I mean!! I don’t know why I am gravitating towards Topanga because it isn’t a shade I can pull off but for the price, maybe I will give it a try. I haven’t purchased a lippie stix in probably 18 months. So many of these are lovely.

I have a couple of these and the formula is nice.
The shade range is fantastic.
It’s a shame they didn’t invest in running out the daggy lippie sticks and tacky white lippie liners, instead just making more lux lipsticks with stylish liners.
I find the packaging on the majority of colourpop’s products awful, like kids makeup, embarrassing and daggy.
The quality of their products are fantastic, the packaging lets them down.

Embarrassing? I have to disagree. It never occurred to me that anyone should care what my makeup packaging looks like. I’ve never actually purchased (or even looked at) kid’s makeup, so I have no idea how apt the comparison is, but to my eye their packaging has a tidy appearance; I don’t see any reason to be ashamed of CP.

I am a lippie stix addicted. Trust Me is my HG red. I absolutely love these. My lippies are pinkish in the center and grey/brown around it, which only two lipstick lines can fully cover: ABH matte and lippie stix. The pigment in these are insane.

There seem to be a LOT that are really really similar. With this many options, I would have liked a paler pink and a light to medium purple. But I’ll probably still end up buying this vault. Even though I already have some of them. I figure the ones I already have, I liked enough to buy so a dupe won’t be a bad thing. $150 is a great price for them.
