ColourPop Girly Super Shock Shadow
ColourPop Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is supposed to be a long-wearing, pigmented, blendable cream-powder hybrid eyeshadow. Overall, this is true of my experience with the formula in general, though some shades could be slightly more pigmented and some of the more glittery shades are prone to fall out (both during application as well as when worn, but primarily during application). I’m most impressed by the long-wear I get from the formula, which tops in at ten hours without fading or creasing with most shades. You can use fingertips to apply, but I’ve found natural or synthetic brushes to work quite well with the majority of shades (though there are a few that brushes don’t work well with, noted as I discover them). Here are reviews for five more:
ColourPop Girly Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “creamy vanilla with a flash of pink and gold duochrome.” It’s a light, yellowed beige with a satin sheen. It had fairly good pigmentation that went on evenly and was blendable, but this shade was more prone to sheering out than others I’ve tried. Once on the lid, it remains there for ten hours without fading or creasing. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop Eye Candy Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “cool-toned … lavender … with tons of silver and pink glitter.” It’s a light-medium, pink-lilac with subtle, cool undertones and a smattering of silver glitter. It didn’t seem all that glittery (which may be good or bad, depending on your preference!). The texture was soft, creamy, and blendable, while it had good color payoff that wore well for ten hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop Dasher Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “true lavender with pink glitter.” It’s a medium-dark lavender purple with subtle, cool undertones and light pink glitter. It had rich, opaque color coverage that went on smoothly and blended easily. It wore well for ten hours but had some fall out over time. This shade is part of the Never Naughty limited edition four-piece set. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop Envy Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “black saturated with violet glitter.” It’s a rich black with lighter purple glitter. This one was harder to apply to the lid without using your fingertip (I also tried a silicone applicator, but it didn’t go very well), as brush application yielded a faded, uneven black mess with little glitter transfer. Once on, it lasted for nine hours with some fall out. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
ColourPop Cricket Super Shock Shadow ($5.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “smoky mid-tone plum with … soft glitter.” It’s a very muted, blackened plum with flecks of gold sparkle. It was semi-sheer and fussy to work with–it always looked uneven and a bit splotchy. I even tried applying with fingertips, but the color payoff didn’t improve. It did wear without creasing or fading for nine hours and had minor fall out. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

OMG! Envy is gorgeous!
It looks pretty in the pot!
Cricket is my favorite shade out of the bunch, so it’s sad that that’s the only poor performer. I am still pretty amazed with the overall quality of this brand, and how cheap everything is!
With 50+ shades, bound to have one or two duds!
The first 3 colors would be so pretty for spring! I like the look you did, with that pop of lavender
Thank you, Katherine!
Gorgeous colors. I love the eye look you did.
Thanks, Rachel!
Pretty colors.
They are!
Beautiful eye look! I just love dasher, I also have envy in this bunch. I have a few dupes for eye candy. I have been enjoying pairing dasher in the corner or my eyes with Lala on the lid. I’ve also been enjoying pairing hot totty in the corners of my eyes with Lala on the lid, turns out quite lovely.
Dasher, Cricket and Envy are stunning colors. I like how to put them together too. Very pretty!
So pigmented! and I love the look you created…man, now I gotta get all the colors.
Dasher is pretty!
I have been in love with DASHER as soon as I saw the swatch in your sneak peek. And I don’t have anything like it in my collection.
So glad because its quality is great, but at the same time I was sad and a little disappointed that it is LE.
I’ll find a way to get it before being sold out.
I love to use Cricket when I am in a rush and just splooge on eyelid with fingertip and wash out with synthetic MAC 217 to just above crease. It’s really super pretty and easy. I just ordered some of the new matte shades and definitely hoping they have similar performance. At least at 5 bucks a pop, you can live with it if it isn’t entirely stellar.
I like to use girly as a cheekbone highlighter rather than an eyeshadow 🙂
Eye Candy doesn’t have a letter grade? XD Whoops
How would you compare Girly against MAC Nanogold?
Luuuuv this look Christine – makes your hazel eyes pop! Dasher and Cricket are so purdy!! I know I have a “purple bias” but I just love these! Have you reviewed Dare too?
Dang, these Color Pop shadows are all the rave recently! And they do look impressive! Hope you’ll be reviewing their new matte collection to see if they deliver as these beauties do! Then I’ll go ahead and make my order… I’ve been waiting for them to come out with mattes! 🙂
What is the grade for Eye Candy?
I am SO obsessed with Colour Pop!! I’m a stay at home mom to two toddlers, 1 and 3, and I love just being able to apply these with my finger for a one color look! I cannot wait to order more!
It’s too bad that Cricket didn’t perform too well, as it’s one of my favorite shades from the line. >:
dasher is great. plus it’s the name of one of santa’s reindeers lol
Envy swatches so pretty but wish it had transferred the same magic to lids .. 😛
Thank you for posting this. i was asking for this kind of a post a few days back, great that you remembered 🙂 i loved both envy & cricket. God i’m definitely bagging these. your eyes look beautiful.
XOXO,
Isla
Ooooh Envy looks gorgeous! In the pan and in the swatch.
To be just $5?! amazing! Will definitely be buying a few of these.
Super sad about Cricket, I was hoping it would be awesome!
i bought a few of the darker ones and the bright coraly one. i’m still figuring out how i like to use them but so far envy has been awesome on top of a purple smokey eye. i am obsessed with their weird texture hahaha
